It reads:

RANGERS can confirm that it is in the final stages of negotiations with the Scottish FA to secure Hampden Park as its temporary home until the Ibrox works are complete.

Chairman John Bennett has issued the following statement: “First I’d like to apologise on behalf of the club for the uncertainty that this delayed project has caused to our season ticket holders, hospitality clients, partners and the wider support of this football club.

"The number of variables in this situation has made it extremely difficult to bring the one thing we all crave – certainty.

“Nevertheless, we are closing in on the most immediate solution - a suitable venue at which to fulfil our fixtures and house our support.

"While the ongoing delay means that the club is unable to fix a date for our return to Ibrox, we anticipate that this will become clearer upon delivery of the necessary materials to Glasgow.

“Rangers thanks the Scottish FA and the SPFL for their strong support in working to this solution.

“The club wholeheartedly appreciates the continued patience of our supporters while we work through this most trying of situations.

“I intend to give a fuller, personal update by the end of July.”

Craig Hart

Will be interesting to hear his next update before end of the month.

Charlie Nicolson

It's a start, just a holding response. I'm quite sure this could have been issued, word for word, a week ago

Scott Hamilton

If there's no new information that hasnt already been leaked to fan media or the press, is it really an update?

Glen Kane

A meaningless statement that should have been out last week. It now looks like he's only made it because he's getting a bit of stick.

Colin Mathie

So the materials still haven't even been delivered yet, tf is going on?

mark wyper

I still think they could have made a statement a while ago even if it was just to let the fans know that they are thinking about them and how we might be feeling communication is always key .

Dougie

Better late than never I suppose 🤷🏼‍♂️👍🏻

David Whyte

At least we have something

John Smith

Only reason they’ve done this is the pressure from the fans

Jason Arnold

An update that isn’t really much of an update. It’s not much more than an apology, which was needed but could have been done much earlier than this.

David_Davy_Dave

Not actually signed the Hampden deal End of July for a proper statement Waiting on materials No CCS is the first indication for me everything on ticketing will be harder than it should be Struggling to see how that statement could be any worse

Brian Rae

This could've been released last week. Instead, they've allowed anger and uncertainty to needlessly build. It's also clear beyond any doubt that no contingency plan was factored into the original timescale. That is totally unacceptable.

N_E_B

I feared a Jordan Rossiter scenario on day 1...I'd be surprised if we are back in by January.

Andy Barnett

Is there any part of our club that isn’t oozing with incompetence right now? Absolute shambles this situation.

Billy Poole

I've completely lost faith in the board. They stumble from one mistake to the next. I fear a bad start to the season will see the majority of the support turn on them if they haven't already.

Scott Thomson

Finally we have something from the board, is it good enough? Nope.

Tamus

Stand down John Bennett your tenure has been a shambles

William Alston

Might be reading too much into this, if I am then fair enough, but "fuller, more personal statement" does he mean regarding him and his role i.e cheerio.

KMS

Faceless pish, still so many questions unanswered, like what about fans who can't make it to Hampden?, folk have work commitments, they might be able to get there from Ibrox, but Hampden makes that unworkable, not the supporters fault, the club are accountable for so many variables

Derek Stevenson

Extremely disappointed in Bennett. There’s no information there we don’t know already via leaks. Address the fan base earlier and properly. Please stop treating us like the incompetents that you acceptingly employed.

Declan Cairns

Bennett should be the first chased when this season goes to shit

Billy Forrester

We asked for a statement, we get a statement with further detail to follow by end of July, more details in the email the club sent yet still people rage and moan. Get on with it, we are where we are but we will follow and support. Folk like to be raging, worse things in the world than this. Time for unity

Andy Barnett

Obviously there are worst things in the world Billy, that’s a moot point, nobody likes to be raging - and in this case, fans as paying customers are entitled to be angry at this incompetence. I say this as an expat who can’t get to matches nowadays.

Graham Jones

Finally they are sorry for the inconvenience. Bennett has a lot to do to prove he can build the club up, which isn’t what hedge-fund managers do in their daily lives. He needs someone there beside him who knows the job inside out, because this isn’t his wheelhouse.

Gregg

How long are you generally with angry with things Andy? I like to move on quite quickly - I was annoyed at the time, but have moved on. The perennial rage from our support is tiresome

Martin Sutherland

I think we all need to be bracing ourselves for one of the worst seasons since Pedro/Murty. The effects years of mismanagement will be on full show this year. Whatever ££ we had for players is gone.
