End of July. Thats fine then. What a mess. Wonder what Clement thinks about all this madness.

Vanb bryceter

Bennets statement at end of July will need to be of Gettysburg proportions. I feel undercurrents of a deeper unrest in the support just now. We need to see a couple of signings that feel like the required quality and a clear vision of where we are going from the chairman

William Alston

No refunds for people who can't make Hampden, not sure that's right

Samantha Paterson

So is there no new pitch going down? What state is it at the moment?

Brian Cairney

Shambles! Hopefully next statement from Bennet is his resignation.

Paul

Hampden is a dive. Horrible to get to and leave. I sympathise with the poor supporters stuck behind the goals. A shambles of a situation.

David Mackie

So it's confirmed it is Hamdump. Fully expected, I know. But it is just another reason I feel totally pissed off with all things Rangers at the moment. Genuinely believe they should be giving you the option of a full refund on your ticket for the games you don't go to. But no surprise they are not. Plus Credit Card scheme not operating for Europe so we have the added shit show of trying to get a ticket for they games just like a Final etc Honestly our club is a fucken shambles.

stephen

I freely admit I'm pissed off right now but I have a real problem with this part of the statement “The club wholeheartedly appreciates the continued patience of our supporters while we work through this most trying of situations. No they fucking don't, the fact it's taken till now and only after large parts of the detail to this was leaked in the press have they bothered to address us, the pleb fans. The absolute contempt in which we are clearly viewed is something I am no longer accepting. Can we now finally bury this "best in class" myth. I have zero faith in anything this board attempts to undertake. ZERO. Apologies for the rant guys but I can't be alone .......

Robert White

Delighted. We need somewhere and it's the best option by far.

Gregg

We want a statement - get statement - I don’t like statement I’m still raging. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

JimM

Not sure what Colin was reading 🤷‍♂️That was a holding statement if ever there was one.

Stewart Campbell

Improving the disabled facilities is a massive priority so they need to do the broomloan stand next summer, just order the steel earlier

Simon Botterill

Shameful statement more than anything. Could not be more what we detest in comms and accountability, very that lot.

Andy Sladen

Driving home after the cup final I said to my son that it will be a long summer, losing was a sore one and having another vital goal disallowed for next to no reason was the one thing that would stop me going to games to watch my beloved team. It isn’t a level playing field. Heat of the moment thing but a long summer and still fucked off. Then this. I have a lot of experience with manufacturing and supplying building materials I had sympathy with EH. A key part of the building fabric had the lead time move from weeks to months. However with this one there is no excuse the materials should have been there the day after the last league game there was plenty of time to organise this and it’s another kick in the nuts on top of many kicks in the nuts the last few years. I will be there at Hampden to follow on but the inconvenience is another hour to get away from the shite hole on what is already a 5 hour journey home. Everyone is inconvenienced by this and I appreciate the difficulties it will present to everyone travelling. Apologies for my ramble and rant but it simply isn’t good enough from this board.

Adam Weir

As previously mentioned the no refunds decision is an absolute disgrace.

Graham Jones

The main thing was that the apology being there, even if it’s a bit late for a lot of people. I would’ve liked Murrayfield, but the fact is it would be a real inconvenience to the majority of season ticket holders, so Hampden will do fort as long as it takes. The SFA couldn’t turn us down, because there’s a precedence for it, when the other lot stayed at Hampden for a whole season while they put together their kit-stadium. Sure, they wanted the money to go to them and not to the SRU, but they had to help as it’s their duty in these scenarios. Had they done anything else, they would’ve permanently burned a lot of bridges. But let’s be clear, this is a business transaction, and not some show of solidarity with a fellow club, association and league member. They had the chance to show that once upon a time, and they chose to try and burn our club to the ground. A signing by the end of the week would be nice.

LD

Did anyone actually expect any refund or discount. They kept the full money during COVID, there was absolutely no chance of any consideration this season

Alan Riddell

David, the novelty of Hampden is as much an inconvenience for me as Murrayfield is for you, so what’s the difference ? I hate that place and really don’t want to travel there. It’s a ball ache of a place to get to from Edinburgh and I just hate everything about that ground, from travel, to fan experience, to having to deal with the SFA and SPFL. I’m actually ashamed of the club, this whole fiasco and now the way we have ‘solved a problem’ by using a shithole as our stadium (for god knows how long). Unacceptable in every way I can think of and can absolutely raging with this whole ballsed up mess.

Baz

It’s a half hearted apology at best, the board should of came out earlier and at least told the supporters they were aware of the fans frustrations over this. To many media outlets having a field day with this while our board stayed silent and now he has mentioned another statement at the end of July senses to me its biding some time to get the heat off. The reality is if Ibrox isn’t ready and it’s hampden then it is what it is but for goodness sake please Rangers board keep the supporters fully updated to stop the media madness getting out of control.

The difference is you signed up knowing you were going to Glasgow, as did I. We still are. I'm not happy about Hampden either as I really dislike it but it's common sense with any event that needs to move to move it to the nearest venue to the original one. If you'd bought tickets for the Usher Hall and it got moved to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall rather than the Playhouse you'd think it was odd. People can have a preference of course but there was no chance they'd move to Edinburgh if there was a Glasgow option. More people would have been more inconvenienced by Edinburgh and that's why it's Hampden. It goes back to the original point: there are no good solutions, only less bad ones.

JOHNNY

As a wheelchair season ticket holder that gets soakin wet in the rain i hope all the stands get done as planned, it’s okay for you lot sitting in the stand you can stand to get the rain off you I can’t! What I can agree on is the lack of leadership it seems there was no back up plan in case of what if, shoddy at best, we also seem forced into paying for games at Hampden in full with no full refund if you seat sub instead of the usual percentage refunded, the could have offered that, it’s going to be a nightmare with paper tickets getting those posted. In the end we just need to suck it up short term pain for long term gain, improved facilities mean we can get considered for UEFA finals etc.

Brian Toner

I sometimes think we forget the bigger picture here, yes it's a headache, yes it's an inconvenience, but it's 2 months out of our life, the reason the work is required is to benefit our brothers and sisters who have to live with the above for all their life.

Graeme McLeod

No refund is one thing. The club only offering 75% "credit" if you return your ticket via seat sub for them to sell again? At this point, fuck them. I'll be selling my paper tickets and keeping the money myself. The final season ticket instalment is the last penny the club are getting from me.

Graham Roy

On its own you are correct but this is every project they have chosen to do has been a colossal fuck up.

David Mackie

I don't think Alan was meaning that David, can I just add to my own previous rant of frustration that being from Lanarkshire I and many like me would have definitely preferred Murrayfield to the dump that is Hampden. Remember there are thousands of Rangers supporters who don't live in Glasgow or Ayrshire !! However I do agree with your point on the Daily Update yesterday this was going to be a shit show no matter where we went. This incompetent board deserve nothing but condemnation.

Lewis Wardrope

I am deeply concerned about the fact that the Broomloan is supposed to be done next season. I know David, you’ve said that they may mothball that for the time being, but I personally wouldn’t put it past this board. And then I wouldn’t put it past them to have us in this exact same situation again this time next year. The majority of the fan base wouldn’t have been happy, but would have been much more forgiving if they came out and said, we’ll do both stands at the same time, it may mean we have to play a season at Hampden. At least then there would have been an end date. Right now we don’t know how long this will go on for, and if it’ll happen again in a years time

Andrew Lees

Re-listening to Dominant and sadly the parallels with Celtic in the 90s are uncanny.

Alan Riddell

Understand that David, know it’s not your doing, but mega frustrated with this whole thing. No good solutions.

Brian Toner

Morning Graham, you are correct, things could be so much better, i just felt on this particular project some people were going ott, anyway have a good day, best wishes

T5

Tinpot (or should that be steelpot?).

Stephen

Is it true that we have to play all our home European group games (not qualifiers) in the same stadium? I mean that if we play our first European game in September at Hampden will have to play them all there even when Ibrox is ready to use again?

Heart and Hand

It’s a rule that exists to prevent teams moving games to gain an advantage. Ours will likely be considered a legitimate reason so it’s likely UEFA will allow it. No guarantee obviously but generally they do. It’s more to stop a team taking a particular fixture to a different ground in an attempt to get an advantage in a crucial match.

Chris Lamont

At least Scott Wright will have an incredible start to the season!

Gordon Watson

“Priority right now - get a winning team on the park.” 100 percent.
