John Smith

I’m convinced that was some sort of divine intervention. Trump is the toughest man on the planet. That photo is already legendary. Donald’s taking back the White House and making America great again 🇺🇸

Robert White

Trump turned his head. Otherwise the world's in flames. People are waking up.

Heart and Hand

The consequences of what-could-have-been are terrifying.

Graham Roy

I can't be the only one who thought Trumps hair would have reacted the same way as the Simpsons episode when homer gets snake's hair as a transplant! Trumps hair holding onto a pistol!

WILLIAM JACK

The consequences of a (highly possible) second Trump presidency are just as terrifying...and that's based on what Trump and the Republicans are publicly saying they will do.

LD

There was a fatality

Heart and Hand

I’m no fan of him politically William but if Americans vote for it, it’s their decision. The Dems chose to run an incapable geriatric and that’s on them.

John Smith

I thought he made lots of improvements. No wars for a start. And because there were both Democrats and Republicans doing everything they could to stop him. But this time he’ll know exactly who to trust and who not to. That’s bad news for the deep state 🇺🇸

Heart and Hand

Oh my apologies. I’ve read several stories on it in The Times and none mentioned that, which is strange.

Heart and Hand

It isn’t. Various Presidents have tried to do something about it and can’t. The system is deliberately set up to stop them doing that - there isn’t enough time. He’ll make changes but they have a four year life cycle at best, two if the mid-terms go badly.

John Smith

I think the way it’s being looked at is a long term project. Not just confined to Trump but establishing a beach head to really take on the elite. J.D. Vance I think is a good indicator about going in the direction of the grassroots instead of the corporate donors of the party. Though personally I would’ve liked to see Tulsi Gabbard in that role.

Heart and Hand

It is but it’s too deep with too many vested interests and to be fair, the constitution deliberately set it up that way. It was brilliantly termed ‘an invitation to struggle’. No one body - executive, congress, senate etc - ever gets their own way.

John Smith

I totally agree David but in my opinion what Donald and the real grassroots conservatives are trying to accomplish is the very protection of that constitutional mandate. I think that the other party have been deliberately trying to violate that framework and the battle is to preserve it.

Colin Mathie

Another thing i've heard was that the shooter used the wrong type of rifle. hence the reason he hit Trumps ear only.

Gregg

How did a 20 year kitchen worker get a hold of a semi automatic rifle is the question no one will be asking

Gregg

I’m sure the Donald will sort it out once he’s re-elected

Bixby Snyder

I don’t get the Trump love whatsoever. At school, he’d be the rich dork that everyone hated and now people of a lower class are meant to love him? He doesn’t care about you or any American. It’s like turning to your mate and saying “this stripper likes me”.

Rona Bluebell

Away. It’s a batshit cult led by the ultimate narcissist. He’s inches away from declaring himself the second coming and folks will genuinely buy that!

greg sutherland

Were you at The National at Edinburgh Castle David? It was marvellous. I always remember on a Cropod that you suggested they were technically brilliant but had no stage presence. Well they are definitely working on that!

Heart and Hand

I wasn’t but I saw them last year at Hydro. Previous time I saw them was at the Barrowlands mid-2000s which was a very haunting gig musically but a bit dull from a visual pov (which isn’t as important tbf). I definitely thought he’d improved as a frontman and they were much more relaxed, joked with audience etc.

C. J

Aye honestly. Anyone supporting Trump that isn’t an American evangelical weirdo is absolutely for the watching. He’s a strictly American neofascist ghoul with absolutely no regard for humanity whatsoever. He’d nuke our island if he thought it would benefit himself.

greg sutherland

My only disappointment from the gig was that they never started with "once upon a poolside". However a wonderful "slow show" made up for it

John Smith

Rona, I love ya but I’m going to have to heavily disagree with you on this one.

John Smith

C.J the only fascist behavior I’ve seen is from Biden trying to imprison his political opponent and (in my opinion) orchestrating a hit to take him out

David Welsh

One of my neighbours growing up in the Wishaw area went rabbit hunting. Then he’d skin and gut them on the coal bunker, which was pretty gruesome. I guess he used a .22 rifle, not positive. But guns and hunting weren’t that alien a concept to us schemies in the 70s.

Gregg

Same - knew guys from my village that would go shooting. Same chaps that were into the fishing and what not.

Iain Shaw

REM at Stirling Castle was one of the best concerts I've been to. Wasn't a massive fan of them at the time, knew all the big 90s hits obviously, but I only went because my late stepdad got tickets. But they were brilliant. I couldn't have told you who supported them that night though!

Russell henry

Cheers for to reminding me of Stellastarr*. I saw them in 2003 shortly after moving to Dundee and thought My Coco was a great tune. Still is.
