Wouldn't put it past this group to qualify for the UCL tbf, the qualifiers are a similar level to the better teams in Europa and we hold our own in that regard. Albeit no Ibrox to lean on. That 1st of August deadline gives me the absolute fear having said that, we need good business!

Graham Roy

The lack of voice from the club is the biggest worry I have at the moment! We appear to be a mess on and off the field and the chairman isn’t exactly trying to change that narrative!

Paul Kerr

"Fingers oot Rangers" Perfect summation.

Russ

There's something to be said about McCausland not starting against Ajax and Utd, Wright seemingly being preferred over him is a mad decision. Dessers and Lawrence there's mitigation but that's a bad decision like.

Heart and Hand

Agreed. And btw Wright wasn’t the worst Saturday by a long shot but he’s been here 3.5 years, he’s not suddenly going to turn into a star.

David Mackie

Having been at Murrayfield on Saturday I fully agree with you David, we need signings and fast or this could go horribly wrong in the first week of August. That team/squad currently are not capable of getting us through the first stage of European qualification and then the Ist Leauge game at Tynecastle is another where, well I don't trust them in that also. New faces required now Mr Chairman if not I dread to think the reaction the board will get once we pitch up at Hamdump ( another board farce ) for our first game in that place.

CRAIG CASSELLS

Ring rusty from Dessers?? He is a professional footballer back in training for a full four weeks. He is just not good enough to lead our line and if we have to rely on him once again it is going to be a long season as he cannot be relied on to deliver when it counts in the big games.

Russ

Aye, when the support are pretty unanimous on a selection issue it tends to bear out on the pitch.

Graeme McLeod

With Wright I can never fault the effort - he just lacks the quality in the final third. If he was purely a squad player that'd be one thing, but our recruitment has been so poor he's regularly starting and we know he isn't good enough. There's no excusing Dessers. Those who do can point to stats, but stats can tell you whatever you want them to. He more often than not makes the wrong decision, and always seems to see the funny side in it too.

Scott McKenzie

Murrayfield was a joke. I went to the turnstiles nearest the tram stop, queued with other bears in the rain then told at the gate when checking my ticket I had to go round all the way round the outside, never had to do that for a rugby game there before. No direction from stewards or police 🤬🤬🤬

David is the story we offered up to 7 million after add-ons for whittaker a load of rubbish? I mean is that not what sima would cost so i would have thought we would have offered it for him first mind u offering 7 million when we could have got him for peanuts last time is our board all over.

David cation

I have a Scotland rugby season ticket. I usually find murrayfield easy to get in, easy to navigate and stewarding is usually spot on. Sounds to me that the organisation and planning was half arsed. Putting the game on as cheap as possible, or another occasion of football fans being treated like shit compared to rugby fans. Speaking as someone who gos to both games, it’s very obvious the double standards.

Billy Poole

The amount of first team players we need is what is worrying me. Hopefully things start moving soon with tav, goldson and cantwell hopefully out the door

ali t

Especially as we were twatting about around the £2m mark were we not last time ?

David Tosh

At the end of the season it seemed to be everyone's view including on the pod's that our transfer business would be done in 2 parts, pre and post Euro championships. That seems to be exactly what's happening but is it the reality of that, the season looming so close and still smarting from last season that has everyone panicking?

Derek Robertson

my first European (well the first I can remember anyway) Such a shame we won't play them at Ibrox (if they qualify )

Gregg

First first ever game that one - bar was set high 😂

Gregg

I’ve been to the rugby (and the games be hearts) at Murrayfield and never had any issues. Surprised and disappointed to hear it was poorly organised. It’s a great stadium - though like Ibrox showing signs of wear and tear

Gregg

If we had that money for one player surely we’d go for Sima?

David Welsh

Great tune, David! Instantly recognisable.

Doug Maclean

I hear that Tommy Conway has refused to sign a new contract at Bristol City and has been told to play with the B team. The chat from Bristol is that he has agreed terms with Rangers. He appears to play either as a number 9 or 10 and is impressive at quick breaks forward

Scott McKenzie

The company organisers seems like their main business is gigs & now trying to make a quick buck by organising preseason tours for EPL clubs now

Duncan Smith

Same here Derek I remember the wee winger they had and his pace. The Falco goal took an eternity to go in but what noise that night

Scott McKenzie

I just hope to see some new signings in Berlin on Saturday or I’ll be remembering the sights rather than the game

David Innes

Would be a smart signing if we can get him - looks very good from what I’ve seen of him

Duncan Smith

100% agree. The lack of communication is really poor and that vaccum has led to all sorts of rumours and issues that could have been put to bed if the Chairman had an ongoing dialogue - even with RTV or fan media. If we're going to bring in three or four first team starters then say that "we're working furiously behind the scenes bear with us". But to have nowt starts to worry us especially given we've been linked to seven or eight promising players who've now moved on Galdamez etc

Robbie McCarroll

I think it’s already too late for new signings to be ready for start of season. We heard Clement speak for months about how pre-season will help with injuries and fitness any new signing is hardly getting a pre-season especially if we are buying in new unknown markets expecting them to be ready for our oddball league

Jim McCutcheon

Finger oot exactly 💯 David totally agree 👍, time is going on and the season is rapidly approaching

Heart and Hand

Basically, you weren’t allowed to walk round the stadium to get to your stand. Which meant people with kids and pensioners had to walk back out to the edge of the stadium footprint and round the perimeter. The excuse was segregation despite two stands being mixed and Rangers and Utd fans walking up together to the ground. They also had 2 or 3 people checking tickets for several thousand people which led to huge queues.

Duncan Smith

David given the weakness of the squad and limited resources we have in terms of transfer fees should we look at Mckenna. He wouldn't have been my choice three months ago but he knows the league, knows us (appreciate he doesn't support us lol) and is a fairly robust centre half who doesn't seem to get injured too much and wouldn't cost us anything. The second point is on Lawrence Shankland and again appreciate there's no sign that we're interested in him but £2 million might get us 30 goals including penalties with him. I don't see 10 in that entire forward line that started Saturday. Whilst a moot point how many points would Shankland have provided the tail end of last year?

Heart and Hand

I don’t get why we don’t buy Shankland tbh. As for McKenna I think he’s better than what we have so yes.

Brian Rae

I agree that we need to move to a midfield 3, there may be certain league games that suit playing with a 10 but against them and in Europe, we need to be more organised in the middle. We gave up midfield control against them in almost all of last season's matches just to have Lawrence stroll about like a headless chicken or Cantwell doing his best-disappearing act. It can't happen again. It's also difficult and expensive to find a number 10 that can do everything necessary in the role unless we get lucky with a project player. I'm not going to lie, I am intrigued to see Hagi finally get to play that role for us but his ship has probably sailed and I can see Diomande being our most offensive midfielder this coming season. The chairmanship of John Bennett thus far has been disastrous and I'm not in the least bit surprised about his reluctance to address the fanbase after his last horror show two years ago.

George Higgins

Dropping a number 10 and playing 4:3:3 is all very well and good but is dependent on one massive thing. The manager ! Is there anything in his previous coaching background to suggest he’s going to do this ? I’ve read and heard elsewhere that he’s wedded to playing with a 10. I’m not suggesting any of Lawrence Cantwell Dowell are good enough to play it. Maybe Lowry might make it but we need a 10 brought in if PC is not for changing.

Spoon

If the manager can’t get more from this squad then we have issues. A change in style formation or just some managerial chops to identify what we can make from the pieces of 4 different jigsaws are what separates the good coaches from the bad. I do not expect miracles, I’m not asking him to make lead into gold but he can’t just sit rigidly saying I play this way and I won’t change even though I don’t have the bodies to make it work. That’s not a plan, it’s not managing. Time to properly prepare for players we hoped we’re leaving to still be here.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

David, the transport is excellent mate. Every man and their dog goes on the tram which is silly when plenty of buses go that way as well.

Heart and Hand

The traffic was snarled before it so not sure bus was a great option. I was just really disappointed with the experience as I’ve attended gigs there but as usual because it’s football fans the officious attitude of those managing the event kicked in.

Heart and Hand

No, he can’t. I think the focus is on the board right now and rightly so. But when games start fans are going to expect to see improvements in shape, individual players etc and it’s not unreasonable.

Russ

Aye that's fair mate, I'm holding out on the hope that whilst we're let down season after season domestically they tend to excel in Europe.

Spoon

I sympathise with the position but we have had this now with too many managers, the board need to sort out the policies and admin but the manger must work with what he has, regardless of fan feeling and our favourites or whipping boys. Time is quickly running out and while I don’t disagree with your assessment of the four key players needed its a lot of eggs in a fragile basket if one of the new improved guys gets injured or just doesn’t click. A change in approach needed and the manager will need to look at what he can do with the team he has not the one he wants to have, I’m not even sure in our market the 10 he feels is the keystone actually is achievable. We can’t be chasing moby dick when there are other players like Shankland who might not be perfect but would be night and day above what we have. This absolutely isn’t an overnight or Clement problem in the making but its now his to deal with and if he is as good as he and we believe he needs to come up with something short, medium and longer term to take us from where we are to where he wants to be quickly or he wont get the time, regardless of wether the backing materialises from the board. As we all spoke about last year none of our issues sit in isolation, the board can be culpable, the squad can be poor, the transfer business gash but the manger still has to do his part and this rigid system thats never really clicked bar in flashes is a lot to hang his hat on when there must be a better way of using what we have.

Graham Jones

I’ve been to see a rugby match at Murrayfield and it was okay then. Probably just a situation where nobody knew the drills. This is a tricky tie for us. Usually I’d be fine with this game but we are so unprepared for this games right now. I don’t want to go too overboard as there are nine days left for us to conclude some good business, but we just don’t look prepared for a Champions League qualifier against two sides who will be better organised. Nobody can tell me that Dynamo Kiev wont be motivated for this game, because they have all the motivation anyone would ever need. The concern is we start getting held to ransom because other clubs will be alerted to us needing players in for this deadline. You’re right, this has been an awful summer for the club. They need to turn nit around.

Billy Forrester

At this moment in time them bastards across the city don’t even need to spend money to be better than us. They are laughing at us and I can see this season being one big piss take for us, hope I’m wrong but we are in a dreadful place at the moment with little sign of it going to get better. I think clement could walk from us by October/November if as I expect Ibrox turns on the squad after a shite start. What a depressing time

jason hart

What is going on with moves to Turkey... I think David touched on this last year .. moves to Turkey for British players rarely work ... surely the Kent move must set off alarm bells ... but with that said .. happy to get the 3 off the books

Stace1ofthePeople

I think most people feel the same however I am hoping 2 or 3 exciting signings and a good start /few wins will give us a huge lift we all need. Nobody is really going in confident at this moment and time but that can change. Just need to see some fresh faces and some talent in the door 😅🙏

David Baillie

I watched the Kiev games back again recently. Brilliant night at Ibrox. Oleg Kuznetzov c/w a heavily strapped knee. I wonder how that ended up?🤨🤯
