GLENN Speirs

Looks like a decent winger, we need a decent striker

Vanb bryceter

Things looking up at long last lets go Rangers

Ian Stewart

Thought he was a left footed right winger🤔

Graeme Burns

Vaclav Cerny is predominately a right winger, but can play on both flanks.

Nicholas Dickson

Our shit TV deal should be much better but a certain club lets clowns run our league

Stephen

Great intro song. Better than the Aberdeen version, Hey McLeod, Get off of my ewe.

Bobby

The £1m fee for Goldson is defo as you say big part due to wages - would be a good move for Goldson , his family and his bank balance as Birmingham have crazy money - maybe we should ask them for more?

Jeb

Can't believe we are signing the guy from lost. Thought a hobbit would be too small for the SPFL.

George Higgins

Now being reported that Twente offering €5m for Lammers.

Graeme Edwards

Lammers going to Twente almost guarantees we get them in the final qualifying round and you know the rest …

Colin

One million for a player that has played in a Euro final is ridiculous, if he was at that lot he would pay go for about 10 million 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Robert White

Scott Wright....showed up well v Man U. Does well in Europe and cup finals. Absolutely no good over a Scottish league season. A ghost in games. Wish him well but yes please sell!

Heart and Hand

Yes because they’ve won more than us. It’s that simple. Until we’re the no 1 team again it will stay that way.

Derek Bradley

Cerny played majority of his career at RW not LW

Niall MacKay

I don't understand FFP at all. Is there a figure calculated every year that is our allowance for the next year? Does wage bill impact it or is it simply how much you spend on transfers vs how much comes in? Melts my already pickled brain.

Rona Bluebell

Cost control and the squad cost rule The new regulations will see clubs subject to squad cost controls for the first time. The cost control rule restricts spending on player and coach wages, transfers, and agent fees to 70% of club revenues. (The gradual implementation will see the percentage at 90% in 2023/2024, 80% in 2024/2025, and 70% in 2025/2026). This requirement provides a direct measure between squad costs and income to encourage more performance-related costs and to limit the market inflation of wages and transfer costs of players.

Rona Bluebell

Not saying this explains it brilliantly 🤨

Niall MacKay

Thanks Rona, so 80% of revenue this year then 70% next? I wonder what they consider revenue. Don't Celtic show their entire takings for merchandise in their accounts whereas we only include the profit? If that's the case does this not give then a significantly higher revenue? It's so murky, I don't get it at all.

Gareth bennie

It does. Adidas don’t include Celtic in their revenue/profits. That was the deal they agreed I think. We are highly unlikely to get this from Castore as we earn them the most money likely.

John Hood

Any word about Cifuentes future?

Tamus

I saw mentalists on fb who genuinely wanted £25M for JT 😂🤣

Rona Bluebell

Now don’t quote me on this, but I think our last revenue published turnover was 84 million. 80% of that is 67.2 million so why we think FFP applies is a mystery as we’re on track to spend hee and haw

Fox

£1m for our vice captain who played in a European final and is almost never injured is rubbish. I get the wage/fee issue but if BCFC are flinging cash about, £2m would be more appropriate imo.

Scott Watson

Scott Wright started that final too but I'd snap your hand off for a million for him Players are worth what clubs will pay, same as it ever was

Calum Robertson

Thought by the picture we’d signed Floki from the to show Vikings

John Smith

Think we may have to consign ourselves to Europa League football. Dynamo Kyiv looked like an absolute machine. One which we only have any hope of dismantling by making some transfer moves sharpish

Billy Forrester

Yes but we have an annual wage bill of around 48 million which is ridiculously high, higher than Celtic so we need to be very careful, add in diomande fee from last season which will be included and doesn’t leave a lot of room to play

Spoon

I don’t disagree that Wright should be moved on and I get all the flaws but it’s a damming indictment on our lack of coaching ability or development of players we couldn’t harness the raw attributes of guys like Wright, Cantwell, King etc I bemoan it often but we are now just a club buying guys and selling them without really adding to their value by taking them to a new level. Our apparent lack of ability to bring someone in and enhance them must be contributing to the wider squad issues. Possibly we must play too many games in Scotland to properly train and coach guys but used to bring folk in and improve them, doesn’t seem to be the case regularly for a long time now.

Conor Brown

Don't know how any of us didn't see Cerny coming. Early Career Hype ✅ Two horrific knee injuries ✅ 1 decent season in whole career ✅ He is literally made for us 😍

Spoon

The injury record alone should be enough to take him off any signing list, a risk that we just don’t need to take surely ?

Gregg

Wright has a lot of the tools - some of which can’t be coached. I think the fact that his decision making is still poor is probably more a reflection on him rather than the coaching staff. Seems to get a rush of blood when calmness is needed. He’s got pace, can beat a man, works hard, good first touch. But he’s a fairly average player. At his age, that’s on him

Spoon

Not convinced on that to be honest, with a longer run on the team and some patience if he is as good at taking on instruction as people say we might have cured the impulsiveness. I am sure his next club will play him and reap the benefits but time will tell, some finish tonight and for only playing one half he was involved more than many others.

Gary Shaw

When you’re number 2 in Scotland,no CL money and your Manager basically telling the whole world we’re skint then we can’t haggle with teams the way that mob can.

Gregg

Just think that when you get close to goal - less time, less space, blood starts pumping it becomes more instinctive. Given he has been popular with all our coaching teams, I’m sure they have tried to point out where he could improve. Sadly it’s not worked. Don’t see the game.

8luenose1872

Rangers review said 5 million euros last night during their post match but everyone else is reporting 2 million

Peter Hosie

How sickening would it be if Lammers went to Twente and he scored against us in the CL play offs if we manage to get there 🤯

Spoon

I get where your coming from but it saddens me to think we can’t coach players to improve and I suspect his next team gets more out him through the middle by playing him more consistently, must be hard to build rhythm for anyone in our team where the line up changes constantly. Would he ever be able to improve enough possibly not but he falls into the category of a guy who now can do no right and I don’t think gets a clean slate in a game where others get much more slack. He’s not the best player and you could well be right about his limits, I don’t know we gave him the time to really confirm it though, 50/50 at best and I could well be totally wrong.

Gregg

Agree - there’s personal responsibility as well. If you’re not performing, ask why and how you can improve. Goes for any job.

Spoon

Totally fair, as I say I get he hasn’t been near consistent enough or kicked on but in all honesty we are a bin fire recently in terms of personnel and tactics, we change game to game and it can’t be easy. In your workplace if a different gaffer came in twice a year and changed everything it starts to be fatiguing and can’t bring out the best in people. We can only see where he goes and how he does, you know my take …. You find your level.

Gregg

We’ve already spent about £6m + Rona - diomande is in this financial years spend as is the wee Moroccan fella. Celtic have their own retail operation so recognise sales, costs and profit so slightly different to us and will explain why they have a higher turnover ( we get a royalty from kit and other castors gear)
