This question is linked to a thread from FF last night. Is there any possibility of Heart and Hand podcasters being more closely involved with the output of RTV? I was one of many who had to suffer the largely whitewash coverage of Rangers’ abysmal performance in Birmingham and one of my first thoughts was how much better it would be, even occasionally, to have an articulate fan voice offering some opinions that reflect the main body of the Rangers support. I see Alan Bradley and Martyn Ramsay are being used by RTV; what about one or more of the other podders being used on co-comms, pre-match or half-time rather than the ex-players who are clearly too scared to get too close to the truth?

Bixby Snyder

TBF John Brown & Andy Little were giving a fair bit of stick in the last couple of friendlies. But I do like your thinking here, Alan. It's just that RTV as a "business" would be mad to introduce that. Fair commentary wouldn't be appreciated, kind of like wishing a politician would give a straight answer.

I’m dreaming I guess, but wouldn’t it be good to hear a bit of humour, a bit of frustration and a bit of exasperation rather than “the energy has been good” or “Cyriel will be disappointed with that.” Incidentally, Andy Little and Tom finished off last night considering the merits of Scott Wright “through the middle.” Boy, do they have the fingers on the pulse of the Rangers support.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I feel like Cantwell became Clements "whipping boy". The lad doesn't help himself with the Social Media posts, but there were plenty others who were worse than Todd and didn't get hooked in the 1st half of a game, or pushed by the manager in the Scottish Cup Final. I'll always back the manager and Cantwell hasn't lived up to expectations, but so did many others that didn't seem to get the attention from Clement that Cantwell did. Just my thoughts.

If ever we need a couple of big signings to give us hope, it’s next week.

Graeme McLeod

A winger who has missed basically two full seasons to injuries throughout his career already at the age of 26. On loan. More things change the more they stay the same with this club.

Leon Balogun- love your honesty big man 💙

PC said how important it was to get a proper pre season .. Well how do we get this if are close to the season starting & still not got our 1st team in place .

Spoon

Never seen the guy play, know nothing about him bar what I have seen here but if that’s the case that’s an absolutely mad bit of business. The only possible redeeming element would be a years loan option to buy IF he doesn’t break down.

8luenose1872

Tbf he looked better in the 10 than any cnt else but ur right if we are looking to play him as a 10 this season then it will be a a longer season than we were already thinking.

Tamus

Summary of Todd Cantwell at Ibrox Turned up wearing Santa Boots Kissed the UBs arses quite a bit Made a tit of himself on tiktok Missed our most important game of the season due to mystery "family reasons" Called a guy a weapon Football wise Cant think of anything he did of note in a vital match. Bye bye Todd Dont let the door hit your arse

8luenose1872

It was refreshing from Big Leon but Clement will probably have a go at him just like he did with Sterling which i didnt like.

Colin Mathie

Your audio keeps coming and going btw.

Only thing I would say about Todd Cantwell . there isn’t a player from last season , other than Butland who can be credited with playing under pressure . The lack of energy in the team meant Todd having to chase the ball down , all over the pitch. If we take Clement at his word. He seemingly tried to convince him to stay. As he should have in my opinion. I think time will show that Cantwell was not respected by the coach, so the perception of a “ great relationship “, between the manager and player will not be mutual . He is a talented player , who could have contributed this season, with the addition of better players beside him. I think we all know that Cantwell gets the club, he is not a conformist of injustice , directed against him or the club he represents. I admire how he displayed contempt to media haters. There are so many others from that squad , who should have been left under , no uncertain terms , of their selection. for big games , before Cantwell . I don’t think there is a majority of Rangers supports , happy to hear , Cantwell feel he needs to leave, particularly at this stage in the season.

Let’s hope these two players come in, even if they’re loan deals. We need to players in, but they need to be the right quality. It’s clear we don’t really have a lot of money around unless they can get Champions League group stages. That would be a game changer for us. We’re in line to get £8m more than the other lot if we qualify. What we’re going through right now is the cost of not winning the league. It’s left us with no luxury inn the transfer window and little opportunity to bed players in better. The two players mentioned would give us an immediate lift in quality.

Sounds like he didn't have a good loan spell at Seville. Interesting one though.

Thanks for your update...brings a wee chink of light for our future season.

Or it could well be PC just needs to get some fresh faces in. I really hope this isn't the case, but our recruitment has turned more into who might consider signing for us over who do we really want to sign

Ranger1972

By all accounts Scott wright was our best player last night and was playing 10. What else do you want them to say ?

Granters

Really got the fear about this coming season, or at least the start of it. I just think we’ve got too much to do to the squad and not enough time to do it now. There’s just too many players left or about to leave and not enough come in. It’s hard not to fear the worst for the start of the season.

Alan Weir

You’re not joking, are you? I would want them to accept - like 95% of the punters listening to them - that Scott Wright’s very occasional highlights haven’t been, and never will be, enough to give him a starting position at the club. We thank him for his efforts, but the past several years have offered more than enough evidence that he’s not going to help us win the league. It’s equal parts irritating and depressing that Tom and Andy feel that this is what Rangers supporters want to hear being discussed.

Heart and Hand

I think it’s possible to find a middle ground between gaslighting and slaughtering them. If it’s a poor finish, say that’s a poor finish’. Nobody expects to hear ‘he’s absolutely useless, what a diddy!’ etc but I think you can describe what it is without being personal or unfair. If someone had a bad game, say so. It happens to everyone!

Alan Weir

Exactly what I’m asking for. I just feel it’s not in the DNA of ex-players to go beyond the cliched and the bland. If only we had some supporters who are well versed in commenting on Rangers games in an articulate, funny and honest way🤷‍♂️😁.

Tamus👌🏻 mate, he’s an utter prima Donna who thought about himself more than the team, manager and fans. Not the first time he wasted the talent he clearly has, “ready for a new challenge” ! ? Found wanting in his career up until now, when a number of managers don’t like the cut of your job maybe it’s time for some self reflection not shushing people…never my type of player, be interesting to see who is willing to take him on next.

Latimer

I think he's a bit hot headed, if he does come can guarantee he'll be the next target for Scottish media to demonise. Happened to Morelos and it happened to Cantwell. I've watched Armstrong at Killie throw himself down at every opportunity, not a peep.
