The European Hangover returns for another season as Rangers moved a step closer to learning their opponents for the third qualifying round of the Champions League, as Dynamo Kyiv took on Partizan Belgrade in a tie that sees the winner take us on in August. What looked set to be a fiesty affair quickly become a superb footballing display from the Ukrainians who would come away with a 6-2 win on the night, a result that will most likely be enough to see them through. James goes over the main talking points of the game as well as giving his assessment of the key players and potential weaknesses for both teams.

Let us know if you watched the game and what you made of our potential upcoming opponents.

The Ukrainians are hard as nails and play elite football. If we’re going to beat them it’ll require a significant upgrade not just in terms of quality but also heart

From the highlights I saw Dynamo look a fantastic attacking side, allowing for the fact Partizan were poor defensively. Fair to say if we don't sign 4 or 5 quality upgrades this coming week there is a strong possibility we could have a dead rubber on our hands at Hampden a week later.

Just about to listen - Dynamo what I saw watching the match is that they attack and over commit just about every time , very direct getting 6/7 men forward at a time. Defensively they leave gaps with over committing so we need to have pace in that 3 supporting the striker to take advantage of…. I wonder if they will play the way vs us as they did Partizan though ? They will have more respect for our European record and it’s a fact we have been playing at a higher level than them recently. Still a a very very tough game , we need players in before Aug 1st it’s basically a £4m game for rangers
