John Smith

Took him long enough

James Stewart

Had to double check when the notification popped up it wasn’t April the 1st

ali t

Sack the board..... shambles.....

Jamba

This board have stumbling from one clusterfuck to the next so the question is what do they have for us next? Utter shambles!

Derek Wingate

Is that Jonathan Watson only an excuse video

Glen Kane

Hampden for two months, at least.

Andy Barnett

The soundbytes ‘uncertainty’ ‘caveat’ ‘aspire’ ‘minimise’ and ‘decant’ is just nauseating. And how frustrated he is and how amazing the club staff and SFA are - give me strength. I can’t speak for all fans, but this is a whole lot of hot air. He says a lot without telling us anything. Just apologize and admit you fucked up Mr. Bennett. Appalling interview.

KMS

Long overdue, the c*** is more elusive than a boat loaded with Chinese steel!! 🤬

Scott

Any wonder there is material delays. He probably triple ordered every part the way he repeated every word through that interview 🙈

Bixby Snyder

Means a signing will be announced tomorrow!

Craig

This should have been a written statement, I won't be the only one whose blood is boiling with this rambling, prevaricating pish.

John Monk

Only 5mins in…. You think there are any caveats??

Brian Cairney

Unfortunately he wasn’t announcing his resignation 👎🏻

Eddie Cotter

We forget far too easily, ultimately RFC, whilst we demand success is a business. The 'sack the board' element have little business acumen. The stadium situation is a monumental, logistically disaster. There's no getting away from that and we are where we are. It's a pressure pot feeding out the info and as our chairman says, he frustratingly has to caveat all dates. Is it what he wants to be saying, of course not. Let's get behind the team!

Ryan McMillan

He needs to stop cosplaying a good orator & be more clinical with his points. Seems like the Douglas Park created a hole, which isn’t a surprise, so in some ways you can sympathise with the magnitude of the role he’s undertaking. However, again poor communication makes it almost impossible to sympathise with this board.

Derek Watson

If I’m doing any DIY, I get the materials in before starting!!!

John Smith

Here here Andy 👏 I really think we need some new investors to come in personally. Hope you’re keeping well brother 🇮🇱 🇬🇧

Derek Watson

Player trading model… Bought Alfie for £1m, turned down £16m then let him go for free

Martin Boyd

Those numbers are frightening. I actually enjoyed that interview it's good to hear there is a plan hopefully we can stick to it and not panic.

Ian McLean

Bennett is out of his depth. In 22 minutes 16 seconds he waffled, provided no real clarity and constantly repeated his waffle. Thanks for your contribution Mr Chairman but your time is up.

David Mackie

Seriously, car crash stuff from a Chairman who delivers nothing but failure. It just seems everything he gets involved with turns to dog shit almost immediately. It's totally depressing lucky if we are back at Ibrox by Christmas if this board remains In charge.

Jordan McKay

There’s very little there that couldn’t have been communicated a month ago. Expected more from him to be honest. Shipping choke points abroad aren’t the reason someone at Ibrox loses their job. There’s more to it than that.

Andy Barnett

Exactly. It is nothing other than horrendous incompetence. If shipping and importing were global issues, then why on earth would we begin works on pure hope ?

Paul

I might be in the minority but I thought he spoke well, I agree with him on the player trading model etc. He should come out more and explain the vision for the club. The stadium is a disaster but he can only apologise.

David Thow

What in the David Brent was that?! Utter drivel man.

Peter Hosie

So much repetition in his words saying the same thing over and over again and you got to laugh when he goes on about winning. JB sadly gives me no confidence whatsoever.

Vanb bryceter

That 22 minutes should let anyone with the slightest understanding of the English language know why we havent heard fro Bennet in 2 years. That was excruciating to watch full of vacuous shite. Embarrasing that a man of his purportedly business acumen could spout that out and think its ok to broadcast .

Stuart McNiven

I think Bennett always comes across well and I know from people who know him, how much of a Rangers man he is. Some of the shitshow is his responsibility, some of it isn't but he's is accountable for it all. There's not much to go on in terms of positivity and he preached pragmatism, patience and restraint - all of which is nice in theory but is not practicable at Rangers, certainly not now as things currently sit. I do hold to the view that many within our support were not ready for what a clear-out of the old guard and a culture change meant, in practical terms. We're back to pre-Gerrard times, behind on and off the park, a squad which will take time to assemble and we may have to suffer a bit more. Ultimately, JB isn't offering much in that interview but it would be wise for some to remember that he, along with Taylor, the Parks, Halstead, Wolhardt et. al. are in - collectively - for a figure north of £60 million. There is no 'last chance' for the investor board. They are in it for the long-haul, as well as us and there's no Gulf State or oligarch waiting in the wings. We'll have to do what we did with Gerrard and accept that progress will be seen through sureness of step and the benchmarks small and incremental.

James Milliken

What a load of uninspiring shite soundbites He sounds as if he wants the fans to feel sorry for him and the board He is so out of step with how the support feel it's scary. A 'mythical' player trading model that clubs across Europe have managed to implement decades ago And his 'caveats' are setting us up for no being at Ibrox by the new year by the way he was stressing them Every time I've seen him interviewed I've been left with more questions than answers. A successful businessman in his industry but he seems miles out his depth in football and I'm heading towards zero confidence we can fix this with Bennett at the helm Utter shambles

BluenoseFive

Well, at least the Manager is staying which my opinion is good news.

Monkspath Miko

Correct. Sitting blaming global shipping for delays in the materials. How about ordering them so that they are sitting in Glasgow when last season ended. No acknowledgment or acceptance of blame for the cock up with the ordering/procurement process.

John Smith

He either doesn’t get it or is being willfully obtuse. AGM will be interesting to say the least

chris smith

From ‘best in class’ to (struggling) to be ‘best in (dog’s dinner) show’

William Alston

This should have came out first week in June, the financial situation makes sense the only bit he missed out is that he and others (some of who are still at the club) presided over it! Usual condescending tone talking to us like kids which doesn't help. He also came across pissed off that he had to even do the interview

BluenoseFive

Not sure why it took six or seven weeks to tell us any of that however.

Brian Rae

He was never going to throw anyone under the bus regarding the stadium fiasco. For me, where he really fell down was when he mentioned the player trading model. Almost two years ago, everything was best in class and he stated that a player trading model was being implemented. Fast forward to now and he's admitted it's not even started yet. We are in the 4th transfer window since that last interview and there's no acknowledgement or ownership of failure. The change in tone since he last spoke to fans is noticeable and his "best in class" quip has made him difficult to take seriously. The message at the end was birthday card pish and I've had enough of soundbites by "one of us" (mentioned about 3 or 4 times) He's on his last legs and if things continue like they currently are, it'll not be the manager that the fans are demanding to be removed in October. It was always going to take something spectacular to change my opinion and this wasn't it.

John Smith

Makes you think that Dave King and that American woman who was looking to invest were right about this board being bent

8luenose1872

You wonder why they dont want to make statements going by some of the comments.

Andy McNeill

Trying to steady a very fluid situation. The toxicity he is having to negotiate seems to be fuelled by lots of grievances and frustration. Thiught it would be a bit better on here than the usual echo chambers. The second half of the interview outlines the hard decisions being made. Trying to recalibrate the squad and sell the vision for the next five years.

Craig

Going to be seeing a lot of those quotes used in the most negative light possible tomorrow, our PR is non existent at the minute.

Scott broadley

Take no accountability for errors made in all areas of the club under his mismanagement going to be a long old season

Granters

I’ll play devil’s advocate here. The club’s often been criticised for under-selling our biggest assets in the past. We valued Alfie at £20m. If anyone had met that valuation then he’d have been sold. A club offered 20% less than valuation and we knocked them back. With hindsight of course he should’ve been sold. But at the time it was the club refusing to be lowballed on its biggest asset.

james whyte

Whens the real interview coming out? That was the out-takes.

Andy Barnett

Board performance since 2022. • 3 managerial changes • Sydney cup fiasco • worst ever CL campaign • 1 trophy • medical department disaster • below 50% signing success • huge contracts given to non contributing players • no player trading model • B team with no competitive matches • youth academy failure • stadium closure • ticketing system failure • NEH delays • poor merchandise quality • no CEO • no Sporting Director • no vision At what point will the Chairman admit both he and his predecessor have been a colossal failure?!

stefan strzelecki

I think we can see the measurement in his choice of words, he will want the very best for the club , that’s got to mean something . I still think the messaging is not as transparent for the average fan . If he feels after all he has said , this season will be one of transition . On and off the pitch . He would be best served saying it. I feel we won’t fully understand it , until Big Andy gives us his interpretation. Perhaps , the next time John may need to use his counsel . He spoke with some candour, will fans interpret correctly?

Damien Stubbs

I’ve called for this interview for weeks….but the content is woefully short of a respectful fact based update, the delivery is insincere/robotic/cardboard delete as appropriate it’s also just full of jargon/shite/big words. It’s way short of what’s needed. The Newcastle CEO done an update for fans a few weeks back that I shared with David. If you want a comparison, go and watch that. Operating on a different planet to this wordsmith.

Rod

Verbal diarrhoea

Graham Roy

depends on what happens between now and then. If we somehow manage to compete then it will slip into the shadows. But we need a proper CEO now and let them fix the major issues we have, The chairman has pretty much told us its a transition season in my view.

Spoon

What you would expect him to say and regardless of the bloodlust probably pretty straight down the line and honest. If people are enraged by what he said, what did you expect him to say ? Bad situation in terms of materials, not sure other than penality clauses what else they can impose to force work to be done but I don’t know the details. In terms of squad we all knew it was a shit show for years, the churn has been unhelpful and amateurish and he’s right we need people who are all in and focusing on the mid to long term without giving up the immediate goals, pretty standard if you’re rational. We can’t invest every year like last year in players, we especially can’t invest in the wrong players and over pay so he’s right to talk about restoring financial prudence. Thought he spoke pretty well, I get many will however be lighting their torches and looking out their pitchforks. Definition of damned if you do, damned if you don’t for him.

Scott Hamilton

Just a reminder he's been either Vice Chairman or Chairman for more than 4 years now. Why is he surprised by the state of the playing staff, and is he trolling us with 'player trading model'?

Rod

Andy's full on living the gimmick these days. 😃 In all seriousness I would be interested in his throughs on this.

Graham Roy

The board need to accept responsibility for their part in this mess. JB didn't do that in my mind but I accept this interview is around 6 weeks too late so I am a little entrenched already! He missed the point about the stadium as majority didn't want specifics about tickets but a sense of knowing the club had a grip of the situation and were aware they had dropped the ball!

Stephen Fraser

Could have been around 12 minutes if you’d take out the repetition. It comes across as a guy padding out the response after committing an update a few weeks back. As awkward as it was, I believe he’s had the best intentions here, as opposed to outright negligence. The stadium issue is awful but there’s no danger this hasn’t been massively impacted by factors outwith our control. I feel like it’s been made to be a far bigger situation than it actually is, also. On the whole, hasn’t really said anything I didn’t expect and I believe him when he says he’s committed to finishing the job.

Russ

He's addressed the issues and given us an update. It's fine. The slaughtering he's getting is some of our fanbase feeling insecure and needing their opinions validated. Only gripe I have is not addressing the Academy Director vacancy. Tbh an update on the academy on the whole would be good, it's a mess.

Conor Brown

Fucking hell. Genuinely not wanting this to sound personal but if that was your manager you'd be looking for a new job at the first opportunity. I understand the lines between the exec and non-exec teams/boards but these lines become very fluid in the emotive footballing world, first part of the interview he offers no accountability at all, talks about things not being good enough with absolutely no recognition of his role in these failures. "What we are dealing with here is a materials delay, which is... a delay of materials" "if you recruit only for the next season, then that is recruiting for next season only" Belters.

Damien Stubbs

That final question “have you got any messages for the supporters” I genuinely thought he was going to break out into Disco Inferno

Andy Barnett

It’s absolutely honking. A well-meaning chairman, but that isn’t what we need. We need a competent one.

George Higgins

I’ll cut him some slack. They had verbal and written assurances about the steel and were let down. Not sure what the board could have done about that. He is not going to give cast iron guarantees about delivery dates when it is out of his control. Regarding seats at Hampden we will know the detail soon. As long as it’s b4 the 10th August that’s fine. He reiterated that we build for the long term. Nothing wrong with that and should have been done years ago. Not sure what people were expecting.

Stewart Robertson

He must listen to the pod, because he just quoted a certain David Edgar - “Nature abhors a vacuum “

Brian Smith

Tough to evaluate all that. Delivery wasn’t great especially with all the repetition. We got our update on Ibrox plus a lot more that I wasn’t really expecting. Glad he clarified Clements comments on the job not being what he expected. And the financial situation. Thought it sounded like he was blaming the fans for overstating the player trading model when it was himself that has really pushed this as one of his pillars. Overall glad to hear from the chairman, even if the new he had to give us wasn’t that great.

Conor Brown

I've interviewed folk for hundreds of project & engineering roles and I genuinely have seen guys with no business or project experience with more knowledge, able to express themselves better. Considering this is a staged, practiced, zero pressure interview I am shocked. I know he's an equity guy and doesn't have an engineering or facilities bone in his body but come on, My granny told me 30 years ago "if you don't know what your talking about, find someone who does and copy them"

Alan Cowan

John Is it not the case that the manufacturers have slipped delivery due to your procurement professionals having dropped a clanger. Or, are the materials just sitting on a dock waiting on transport? You've focused on the final part of the procurement process but avoided the previous critical points of failure Regarding implementing player trading, what is the short and long term plans for the current B squad. The odd game or two means nothing and can't help the trading model. Competitive football is required B squad or youth football in this country runs like a watch bought on the beach in Tenerife. It's nothing short of disgraceful and we as a club do nothing.

Allan

A long wait for nothing we did not already know.

Andy MacArthur

After such a wait for any sort of news from our chairman we get a load of waffle that tells us very little new. 22 mins that could of been done way more concisely and released a lot sooner. Im glad to hear the manager is all in and driving things behind the scenes. It sounds like we are at the start of a new project, and we might have to show patience. I worry that patience will not be there with all the other mistakes being made off the field by our board.

Gordon Hesketh

22 minutes of crap there. Can’t sugar coat it. Pathetic really

Duncan Smith

I'm cutting the guy some slack. I don't think he's the best communicator but he's right on a number of fronts (commercially) on how the club has to move forward. A lot of this could have been put to bed with 2 or 3 succinct five minute interviews over the last two months and more engagement with fan media. What about fan media having a regular sit down with him. I take the points earlier about no accountability mind you.

Lee

Could have been an email.

Jack

Talking as if he’s not been a board member for nearly 10 years.

Craig Lamont

It actually poses more questions than answers.... *When were the scheduled delivery dates? *If assurances were given on delivery dates, will the club receive compensation for not achieving them? *Are the materials for the planned work next summer on the Broomloan included in these deliveries and if not, when are they scheduled to arrive? *"Nobody more frustrated than me". Does he include fans, many overseas, who he already took season money off of who don't know what arrangements to make? *He prides himself on £11.5million of commitments in the last 2 windows, does he also accept responsibility for the Summer 2023 window then? *He blames "recruiting for the short term" for the squad situation, but does he accept the majority of that recruitment was made under his watch, either as a board member or as chairman?

KMc

Some amount of waffle. He means well, but he’s a very poor communicator.

Graham Jones

He doesn’t get it. The whole supply issue could’ve been avoided by ordering well in advance and storing before we were due to start. Don’t they have a construction person at the club who has managed these projects before? I don’t want to take a shit on the man because he’s clearly learning as he goes along, but for christ sake stop going on about people being ‘all in’. That doesn’t mean anyone criticising Isn’t a proper Rangers fan, so let’s get that out of the way. It would be patronising to say such a thing, and I’m sure he’d agree that no chairmen fit for office should ever attempt to do so. He didn’t say if the construction next summer is going to ahead as planned either, so some clarification on that point would be useful. What we’ve had have been three years of bad decisions at the club, and they’ve all come down from the board. I’d like to see them bring on more experience in the boardroom, as it might help us avoid making the wrong decisions down the road. Bring back Campbell Ogilvie!

Derek Murray

Quoting Aristotle does not necessarily make him a bad person - it’s a shambles but needs sorted so let’s see how they collectively sort it … I expect we won’t be back til 20th November as that is always a good day in the calendar 🎂

Fraser Black

Where do you even start with that. Referring to the SFA as a “partner”?? Read the room John . . . Also, derides the mention of player trading model, yet no indication of a DOF being brought in at any point to oversee it. So are we saying the Head of Recruitment is responsible for the entire football operation? Agrees with Clement about the scale of rebuild required, completely devoid of irony in the fact that the first player out the door is one of the players that him & Bisgrove allowed Beale to waste millions on last summer. Where is the accountability and acknowledgment of what they signed off on last season, & how much that is now impacting us this summer?! Expectations well & truly tempered for the season ahead 😔

Scott King

Yeah, that wasn’t great at all. He has Rangers at heart but I’m afraid he seems way out of his depth, he’s speaking like he just got there and hadn’t been part of this board for 9 years!

Wilson Elder

Abit meh from a chairman of our club, more questions than answers to be honest.

William Alston

And another thought, sorry. Rachel Reaves had her day in parliament calling out the previous government. Bennett has just done the same with his slagging off the player trading model, unfortunately for him he was part of the regime that caused this. Does he honestly think we don't realise this

Ryan Stewart

Seems pretty clear to me that unless Clement can produce some sort of miracle by getting us into the UCL or a Walter 2011 style title win we are in for a long old season. My main hope is that the manager can at least keep the train on tracks enough so that the fans stick with him, I cannot be arsed being on here in a few months discussing yet another new manager

Gregg

I’m gonna pass on this - has the steel arrived and when can we expect to be back at Ibrox?

Alan Hutchison

The guy who presided over millions and millions being wasted lecturing us on prudence and trading models isn't a great look.

Max Power

I think this presentation was less about the mess of the stadium redevelopments, more about clarification of the Clubs financial situation going forwards. IMO this was not the time to give the hard truth that we have to become self sufficient and cut our cloth accordingly unless we sell our favourites once they reach full value. I completely agree that this needs to happen for many reasons but perhaps could have waited until a brighter moment

David Clapperton

Couldn’t win no matter what he said today so probably regretting the “end of July” deadline he set himself because he said absolutely nothing there. Might be end of September, might no be. Might have a new CEO soon, might no. The one thing I will say is that if they all agree this is a bigger rebuild than they first thought and they think “£11m” (🤔) on a handful of kids, some of whom the manager has already said aren’t 1st team ready and a scattering of loans is going to touch the sides then wow!!! This is going to be a long hard season.

Michael Gray

I’ve not been impressed and he has made many mistakes. But what is clear is so much of this has been driven by the mess of Parks tenure.

Michael Thomson

Deary me, he’s really fucking bad at this.

Russ

That's the point he made in the interview though, you can scud 15m on a load of 27 year olds ready to attack the title but they'll be worth sweet fa in 2/3years time. They knew finances were tight so decided to invest pre trading for the longer term on the pitch rather than experience. We all want the trading model to work until we actually put it into practice - then our support get the fear and scream for Shankland and McKenna to be signed. We've signed young players for the future✅️ and invested in the short term with the new RW on loan ✅️ with another month of the window to go. Sorry for the long message mate, and I don't want to come across as a clapper but they're acting on what they've preached.

John Smith

1st of 3 shipments. Waiting on the other 2. Hopeful we will be back for the Hibs game

Greg

Anyone find this weird as fuck?

Ryan Brown

This update was pretty much what I expected, and good to see that JB understands and accepts what has gone wrong. All be it, this update should have come weeks ago. My biggest concern is that if we are not back in Ibrox until end of September at the earliest, then we will need to play all our European Group games at Hampden. The CL groups start mid September & EL end of September and once you play one home game at a venue, you must play them all there.

Ronnie Gallacher

Comments in here and elsewhere on social media from a never to be satisfied fanbase pretty much as expected. I think I might be done with all of this shite on here.

Gregg

The last part isn’t the case - Davy clarified that on one of the updates.

Ian

We are here to win ? What a fucking joke

John Smith

Same energy as when Kevin Spacey released those videos in character as Frank Underwood

Ryan Brown

According to Scotland Co Efficient Page on twitter, it is. UEFA rules state that you can play qualifying games in a different stadium but not Groups, as it could be an unfair advantage. Caveat is that you can apply for an exemption, I believe.

PR__92

People thinking they know what they are talking but haven't a clue 🤔

David Clapperton

You’re absolutely right and in a perfect world we would find the perfect balance but as was also pointed out by the chairman “we need to win”. As I said, no matter what he said he was never going to win. The most annoying thing from all of this is that it’s all self inflicted. All of it.

Stephen

The player finances have to be addressed too. Let’s be honest, if we spent £20 million tomorrow we are still going to finish 2nd. Celtic could go out and spend £30 million and we would fine ourselves is another financial mess like last time. Chairman can’t say that but we as fans have to be realistic about how much money should be available at this time. I doubt there is a happier time on the horizon to bring this up separately

Ronnie Gallacher

Sorry, who should have ordered the steel in advance, John Bennett or a supplier who may not have had a signed contract? How do you know it wasn’t? This is my issue on here and across social media, fans making statements with no cast iron (see what I did there) facts to support what they say! We wanted an update, we received an update however it’s not the update we wanted, FFS.

Michael Elliott

1 shipment is in Glasgow, the other 2 are not. As it stand they are expected to both be in Glasgow at end of August This is as it stands, but he heavily caveated that it was not something we can control for the end of Sept conclusion.....

Andrew Whiteside

I don’t think you can argue too much with what he said. The stadium issue is being dealt with as well as they can and he wants the club to be well run and sustainable. Not much to be fucked off about.

Ryan Jardine

How have we committed to £11.5m in January and this window excluding loans?

Craig Murray

What are folk wanting, he must protect the finances of the club, we can’t risk a 2012 scenario again

Russ

Aye, it's been mismanagement for the last 20 years.

Steven L

Decent enough doesn’t take away from the fact that I’ll be sat at Hampden watching my team with mostly the same players that have let us down time and time again. Tick tock…..

Max Power

I completely agree that we cannot continue with the sugar daddy approach, especially in the current climate and am a big advocate of being self sustainable. However I feel it may of been better to “promote” a models case if there are assets to trade and show success from. We care currently only at the start of this cycle

Billy Forrester

Actually don’t think his interview was bad. The furore on social media and even on here to it is just mad. We asked for an interview and for him to talk to us, we got it but because we don’t like it we crucify the man. FFS there really is no pleasing a large majority of our support and I for one am getting tired with moaning and negative element of our support.

Paul Kerr

Watched it twice to give the guy a fair crack. My first thought was he should be apologising on behalf of himself, not everybody else. That didn't change.

Colin Gilchrist

I remember reading Deepak Choprah and one quote in particular - “all the forces in the universe over time have created this point in time”…the point? Don’t waste your energy and emotion being frustrated with where you are at…just take the best actions moving forward. Having said that, the Chairman is as poor a corporate front man as I have seen as he needs to go…let’s support Clement. I think the guy is exactly what we need at this time and he is the one thing in this shit show that gives me hope. We are WAY back on where we all hoped we would be…but let’s build again and re-establish this amazing club. I love this club ♥️

Ronald Fraser

Fair play for actually fronting up. In saying that he shouldered no responsibility whatsoever , there are multiple failures under his watch , not least this transfer window … which if done correctly would distract from the rest. In a few weeks he will see real pressure … I believe it’s coming as this team is not at the races…sadly!!

Stephen

Agreed . We can’t have another season of throwing money at the problem and crossing our fingers that we find someone we can sell quickly. The idea is to use the good players for a couple of seasons then make a profit. We are right to be trying to offload as many of the big contracts as we can and see where we are after that. It’s far from ideal in the sense of trying to win the league but it really is the best thing to do to prevent big trouble further down the line. Suppose he needs to highlight the model now to hammer home what the long term plan is/should be.

Bob MacCallum

Can't beieve the negativity on here to his interview. Maybe he used too many "big" words for some. He addressed most items the fans wanted clarification on. Unlike the Celtic hacks and opposition fans, he reminded us of the REASON for the building work. He scotched the absurd paper gossip about Clement being unhappy, having been "lied to" when he arrived and ready to leave etc. He explained certain finances. He showed a determination to reduce losses and implement the player trading model properly. We can't blame him or the Board when managers buy duds like Lammers and Dessers after they trusted them with millions. Are they supposed to argue with managers about the merits of players or the fee required? Those who want a new chairman need to get real. Who would be the replacement? Those who want rid of the board should remember that these guys are the owners of the club. We need a CEO. Bennett told us it'll be soon. That's it. No D.of F is being looked for. The system is a head of each department reporting to the CEO / board. No need for one guy being in overall charge of everything football-related. Give Bennett a break and stop acting like Sellick fans.

Lance Grant

Look, he can't win. We're raging because he's not spending money and yet raging for what Murray did. We have a bizarre attitude as a fan base. I'm a ST holder but live in London. The sense of entitlement amongst us compared to your Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea is huge, and that needs to change if we are ever to recover from 2012.

Colin Gilchrist

So we “over-traded” in the previous 2 windows. Diomande and Cortes not the issues. The deadwood that we have accumulated in the previous windows is. We have had a promising start to the clear out. Still reckon 8 players should be cleared out as way below the standard we need and getting paid far too much. That’s not Clement’s bad. Not sure the Chairman can wash his hands. Regardless, he is poor as should be moved on for a better Chairman

Stephen

I know, I am sick of it to be honest. People don’t realise it’s not possible for a chairman to solve problems by putting in £millions of his own money. FFP is designed to prevent this. Some fans get themselves is to such a rage that they need to step back from watching football. It’s too much. We have won 1 out of the last 13 titles and some people are furious with the prospect of not winning this one before a ball is kicked. We need to build something instead of constantly self destructing. We spend the whole season saying how bad our players are then go ballistic when we can’t get rid of them.

Glenn Malloch

Never explained who’s fault it was the materials we’re not ordered sooner, the supply train has been fucked for years !!!

KennyY

No wonder our players carry the world on their shoulders and can’t handle the smallest pressure. Some of these comments are unbelievable.

I read the statement rather than watched it - few bloopers and the rage about the £10.5m was a bit cringe. Failing that, all fairly sensible. We have too many angry middle aged men in our support that want someone to blame all the time and rejoice in perma rage. It’s not fun to listen to and it cannae be an enjoyable way to go through life.

He’d be fine in a chairman role - he needs a CEO in to run the business. The CEO should be communicating with the fans not the chairman, which is an oversight position.

If the solution is waiting on more rich men to come in, give up their time and money to fund our hobby, I think we need a better solution.

Everyone happy now the club have washed their dirty laundry in public?

The steel issue appears to have been, if not predictable, then a real potential with the supply chain challenges . The board need to own that. We have a timetable but not and explanation. Maybe commercial confidentiality in there. However, surely it extremely sensible to address a situation that sees a pre-transfers loss of over £10 million year on year. Only leads to one place. Been there, can’t do it again. Again surely it is sensible to put a recruitment strategy in place that is sustainable and affordable. I was heartened by the fact they finally appear to be thinking longer term. Nobody should be in any doubt not doing so is why we are where we are. Also heartened by Clement comments. He’s clearly a guy who understands that and can lay the foundations for a better future. Big risk to that is we force their hand by being unable to accept a difficult start to the season. No-one asking to give up on trophies because we’re in transition, just realise that a rebuild of this nature will have bumps in the road and unless we’re very lucky might just take time. We need the right recruits that we can afford, not anyone who’ll come at an unaffordable price that seems to have the last 2 summers approach Key to that will be to stop being permanently raging at even the most sensible approaches. Not that needs my advice but JB needs a proper CEO to do this type of media stuff. Clearly not his strong suit.

No the solution is a working transfer model, control of wages and sadly CL qualification more often than we have managed.

It never ceases to amaze me the attitude of some “I demand I hear from the chairman” and when they don’t like what he says “he should not have bothered” He really can’t win,

Some of our fanbase need to get a grip. All the chat about we deserve better when we went through a period with actual parasites draining the club and came out the other side of it due to guys like this. I understand that Rangers is about winning but we need to earn it and it’s not a given each year as we have found. Patience and determination will reap reward given our clear challenges but the boom or bust mentality is tiresome. A £10.5m black hole each year is bonkers and needs to be addressed. Players needed to go, they have and others will follow. It needs time to then “build our house” back up again. That lot haven’t exactly been spending like crazy either. We are in the SPL where there is no real money and no prospect of it changing. This is the reality.

To be honest, this guy is trying to steady a ship and despite our wishes, we are now going to become the long-term 2nd place club in the country. The mismanagement since 2012 has genuinely been unbelievable but since Mälmo, we’ve been absolutely on the slide as a club.
