Outstanding song choice today. Bloc Party are criminally underrated

Alan Weir

Pleased to hear we have signed a footballer - Cerny - who is ready to play a football match this week. A refreshing change from “projects” who will need a year or so to get up to speed with the heady heights of Scottish football, or players not quite up to the giddy fitness demands of Rangers.

Scott Macrae

Had tickets to see Bloc Party in 2007. Decided to watch Rangers instead. 0-3 loss to Lyon at home, still regret it.

Bennett should be fronting up for a press conference not just Rtv easy questions

Craig

Dreading this Bennett statement. The support are going to go mental if we get fed any more PR fluff, but, based on his last few statements, I'm not sure he knows how to do anything else.

Callum Gordon

Please no eye rolling but with John Fleck keeping his fitness levels up at the training centre would it be worth looking at him ? Good experience, don’t think he’s past it and in a position that we need . I’m not normally one for wanting a return of old players but this could be an exception.

WILLIAM JACK

As one poster on FF said, 'Legs gone?!? Played one game last season?!? Injury hit last two years?!? Get him signed! Two year deal with an optional third if he wants it. If we can just get him fit....what a player we'll have. Shame for the guy injury-wise, and Fleck's had a decent career after Murray piled stupid pressure on him as a teenager but unless it's pay-as-you-play there is no way.'

WILLIAM JACK

Also, for those keen on a Fleck return I'd say if there's one thing we've learned as a support, it's that some of us have learned nothing as a support.

Callum Gordon

Wasn’t aware that he had had injury and illness the last 2 seasons , it was only the report on sky first thing this morning I was going on , I retract any statement of makes sense 😂

Paul

Spot on regarding players and fitness, David. I'm genuinely baffled by the situation with Hamza Igamane. The manager's comments about his fitness and adapting to a new country seem odd. Have we never signed a player from abroad before? He's a 21-year-old man, not a 5-year-old child.

Ryan Stewart

We are absolutely desperate for a minimum of 1 probably 2 CBs. We have 4 CBs currently at the club and none of them are good enough to be first choice. Balogun, Souttar are fine backups, Nsiala we know nothing of really but going by the managers comments he is seen a project player. Davies I don’t just don’t rate at all and is hopefully one we can move on. Find it very strange that we haven’t added in that area when you consider Jose Cordoba seemed to be a priority signing before the window had even opened. Where is the £3m- £4m that we had committed to pay for him before he chose Norwich? The only player we’ve brought in for a significant fee is Igamane who by the managers own admission is nowhere near ready to play (Diomande obviously but that was already known from January)

Damien Stubbs

V strong start to the week tune wise 👏🏻

Ryan Stewart

£2m on a guy who apparently isn’t even ready to train with the first team yet whilst simultaneously saying we have to sell players before we can buy. One of two things have happened, he has arrived injured despite the club trying to deny it, or Clement has took one look at him and decided he’s not ready. Either way it’s just a bizarre situation

Paul

I agree mate. I've heard the injury rumours and the club have denied it. If it's the other, and Clement doesn't fancy him - we are in bother!

Damien Stubbs

Happy to say the 50 second outro gave some relief to the dull grey cloud that hangs over my head when I talk and/or listen about the club at the moment….they should get you in to DJ @ Hampden David, lift the spirits. 😂

Al-WATP

Do you honestly think he will David? I can see Wright starting at Tynecastle

Graham Jones

There are ways to find out if a player is interested or not. Call his agent and ask, it’s as simple as that. Or, get another agent to call his agent and ask. How they reached a point where they greed a deal with Seville and not with the player is beyond me. The issue is exactly what you said, he’s an experienced pro who thinks he’s above our league. I’m sure he’d love the club, but the league would be another thing altogeher. Sadly that wont change until we have new leadership in Scottish football. I’m a bit surprised Clement hasn’t went into the Belgian or French leagues where he managed.

Graeme McLeod

I'd rather we had put that £2 million towards domestic players who we know can play in this league rather than punts based on potential. I understand Koppen has to plan for the future, but the priority this summer really should have been the first team - and Barron is the only signing who looks like he can start.

Al-WATP

Paul, I wholly agree. It’s a very strange situation. If he’s not injured surely, as a professional sportsman, he’s fit enough to have easily lasted 15 minutes in each of the last two friendlies

Al-WATP

Re the Jordan (not) signing, again another very strange situation. While only social media rumours, it was suggested for a couple of weeks now that the player himself didn’t fancy the move, which is fair enough. But as David said, I really hope we’ve not spent weeks of this window chasing a lost cause. I’d never heard of the guy before our interest but losing out on the signing feels like yet another negative on an already demoralising summer

Al-WATP

Agree on both points Graham. Re the latter, you assume the gaffer is aware of some young Belgian players with high potential or seasoned Belgian pro’s who could do a sold job for a couple of years. Similar position to GVB

Paul

My thoughts exactly mate. It seems such a bizarre situation. Hopefully we see him ASAP because we need something different and a freshness in that department

Spoon

Don’t think it can be underestimated how much constant churn in personnel impacts a team. We all buy into the goalkeeper wanting a settled defence in front of them but it goes for the rest of the units too. If your the striker you need to know what service your getting, are you in behind or coming short, is it going into channels and you have runners off you or are people staying wide. Midfield rinse and repeat. We slate guys who come in for the odd game and can’t establish themselves but what chance have most got when your introducing yourself to a new guy next to you every week or sometimes a few times a game. It’s fine margins at the elite levels and our refusal to develop any kind of settled starting 11 or at least a core can’t be doing us any favours. I think sometimes we just need to work through form and build familiarity as opposed to switching guys in and out game by game. I accept our injuries have made that difficult but that ties into recruiting robust players whose top stat is availability more than flair.

Alan Cowan

Anyone got a clue where Zak Lovelace is hiding?

Martin Sutherland

Two things you mentioned and I guarantee the opposite will be true. We won’t start Cerny Sunday, because it’s illegal to start a new signing straight away at Rangers and we will have wasted 3 weeks on Jordon despite news coming out 10 days ago that the player wouldn’t move to Scotland. That’s the Rangers way nowadays
