It seems that way to me too David but seems very short sighted and a bit snobbish to ignore what’s right in front of us. All about narrowing the odds on any signing in terms of suitability, durability, record etc and to a layman Shankland is better than anything we have including Danilo who as it stands has been £6m and 20k a week without kicking a ball but seemingly getting better week on week. Sometimes it’s obvious, just because it’s obvious. The manager has many promising attributes but we shouldn’t get into that classic Rangers mould of his decisions being backed with blind faith. He’s not infallible.

Haven’t identified better (nor have anyone else in the league I don’t think) for about 15 years or more, and that was when we spent bigger and had more scope. Being snobbish about domestic product and chasing long shots is why our squad is gash.

Yeah, because all the foreign journeymen strikers we've signed over the last 8 years have worked out so well. Still, massive trust in the recruitment team who spent £2 million on a Moroccan punt who the manager doesn't think is anywhere near ready to be a starter.

With Pröpper and Balogun looking like a possible starting combo, given the defensive performances of others in CD role during pre-season, what does that say about our only Scotland player (Souttar) and Ben Davies?? Obviously there is always a way back, and we should anticipate injuries, but IMHO Souttar and Davies need to up their game while Clinton Nsiala has to force his way into contention

100% Graeme, you can buy 10 fancy Stella that have a bit of mystique, more sophistication and the glam factor or you can just buy a slab of tennants which might not be fancy but will cost you less, you will potentially get more for your money and it will do the same job. We should be buying the 24 tennants not faffing bout with the 12 or 16 Stella that’s on sale over paying for the can when it’s what inside that matters.
