As the sun still shines and the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air season 2024/25 is upon us.

Rangers head to Gorgie on Saturday to face a Hearts side who like us, haven't enjoyed the best of pre-seasons, but all that goes out the window now as the real football kicks off.

Join Alex, Steven and Iain (briefly) as we look forward to the opening match of our campaign.

CRAIG CASSELLS

Welcome back lads, always look forward to The Preview Show

John Smith

I make Hearts the favorites but I think that could actually work in our favor

Mren90

Yes! The preview show is back. The season has officially started now.

Ewan White

Welcome back lads been waiting for this!

Bixby Snyder

The preview is under an hour long!? Blink twice if you’re in trouble, Steven.

Allan Osborne

First time I've ever heard a seagull warning before a match 😁

Ricky

Welcome back lads.

Paul

Welcome back boys! I have to disagree with Steven; we can't ask Sterling to play left back again. We have two left backs, and if they can't handle Hearts, we're in trouble. Sterling needs to play in a settled position.

Russ

Considering those lineups from you boys are pretty familiar for tomorrow it probably tells you just how bloated our squad was/is and how much deadwood we had. We've shipped out half a dozen big names and it's barely dented our predicted lineups.

Scott Watson

On what basis? Our recent record against Hearts is excellent. Unbeaten in 15 with 12 wins in the last 14

John Smith

I just think at this point in time, especially at Tynecastle, they seem to have a better put together side. Plus all the negativity around us. But I’m hoping that we use that as motivation

Ryan Jardine

Their pre season has been worse than ours in terms of results. I can guarantee you the bookies won’t have them as favourites either. 3-0 Rangers and back doon the m8.

Rick Swan

Enjoyed your discussion on where we are as a team at the moment. I’m not sure I share your view that the team will look very different to where we are now by September. I suspect that any further additions will rely on outgoing players but I’d be very happy with another CB, a defensive mid as you rightly pointed out and a striker if Dessers / Danilo are not fancied. I read very recently noise about Ryan Gauld who could fill the number 10 role if that was still needed.

QB_72

Good to have the preview show back lads, I hope we get off to a good start and build up some momentum for what lies ahead in the season.

Stephen Watson

Good effort lads. May just be me, but that constant bongos sound in the background was distracting!

David Innes

Win by any means necessary tomorrow and the mood completely changes. If Dessers really wants to stay he has a great opportunity to show he’s better than the guy a sizeable chunk of our support (me included) would happily replace him with.

Angus Mackay

Pretty much word perfect, lads. Love Steven’s take on the stadium woes - spot on. Great to have you back.

Billy Forrester

It won’t as he could score a hat trick tomorrow and be brilliant but as soon as he misses a chance the old dessers is pish and we need better will roll out, it’s just annoyingly boring now tbh

Billy Forrester

Why would they be favourites, fleetwood took 6 aff them ffs 🤦‍♂️ They are in with a fighting chance but they are certainly not and never will be favourites against us. Jeso

@bluebeans

Writing this early in pod so you may address some of these issues. Still by some distance my favourite pod on the network, thanks lads. If you are trying to cut short for listener benefit , don’t imo (perhaps your own sanity) —- someone mentioned a drum type noise on this one, I’m hearing that too ….regardless, great content and it’s become part of my match weekend routine that I’ve missed 👍🏻

Alan

Great to have you back guys. Let's hope for a successful season.

Greg

The longer the better..

Douglas Innes

Great pod lads , let's be positive and get behind the players and management

Spoon

Great to have you back gents, spot on comment.

JimGLW

Stevie proven spot on in his analysis and on Taylor. It feels very much a straw man argument to frame it as "is the squad good enough to win every game?". Literally nobody expects that. Not a single person. It also doesn't mask that the squad is terrible just now. Going into the first game with Davies and Souttar as the spine is the stuff of nightmares. Our forward line probably wouldn't get in the Hearts team either. Grim.
