Latimer

Well he's had his pre season, can see a big difference 😫

chris smith

The club is a mess so its no surprise the team is a mess too. One suspects its going to be a long season, but not in a good way …

John Smith

Any chance of signing Gerald Taylor ?

Jim Milne

Watching that today Hearts seemed better coached with tactics. Clement has been here for 10 months, 90% of that team were here when he was hired and I see no style of play or much difference going back to Gio. On one occasion when we should have broke at faster speed Tav stopped the ball and used his hands to motion "slow down". It's going to be a long season.

Dave White

New season, same old rangers.

Glen Kane

If we can't find buyers for Hagi and Cantwell they'd be better playing. They won't make us worse.

Iain Dunleavy

Mad that some fans still don't think we need more scottish players. Key is sign captains and leaders from abroad to complement the best scottish players in the league. Absolutely no dig or passion today. No coincidence the last successful Rangers team was under Walter with that core of scottish/northern Irish.

William Donaghy

We have known for months that we need big changes. One new face to Start the new season , all the same old issues. We need first team players brought in ASAP

Granters

Love Bob Mould!

Gregg

Kinda as suspected - team still needs some additions especially in the middle of the park. Though Barron played well and cerny looked bright when he came on. Hopefully not a bad one for cortez

David Campbell

That new contract can be added to the list of baffling decisions by this board. We are a shambles. A long season ahead

james whyte

Barron looked good again. The end.

Andy Barnett

The only guy with pass marks was Lundstrams replacement and yet here Clement is pining for a guy who dialed it in since March. Bizarre.

Adam Weir

We are desperately in need of an experienced centre mid playmaker.

Gregg

Barron was our best player but think we still need an experienced holding midfielder who can pass the ball. We look quite open for me

Andy Barnett

He was good, Diomande is flashy but never worth the money we paid. Absolutely agree that a proper ball playing CM is a must.

Andrew Meldrum

Ben Davies. One of our higher paid players, apparently, signed for what, £4m? Yet subbing him off for a 37 year old improved us. Hopefully Propper will be available Tuesday.

Gregg

He’s the whipping boy already for some - we are some bunch 🤦🏻‍♂️

Andy Barnett

Who? Diomande? He was okay, not the worst by a long shot - haven’t heard anyone single him out.

Jamiedfa

Powder puff in final 3rd once again

Gary Shaw

We’re in trouble of letting them disappear over the horizon and I just don’t mean this season….There is just an absolute nothingness about these players….Could go through the full team tbh but the money spent on guys like Cortez ,Diomande etc is criminal….

Latimer

Clement has no clue how a team should control or dictate a game.

Gary Shaw

Well, here goes…He was the worst player on the park….constantly goes backwards and when he does go forward you quickly realise why he prefers to go backwards….donkey of a player

Gary Shaw

No patterns of play, no identity ,no combinations….No hope

Stace1ofthePeople

Balogun and propper(assuming he is as good as imagined) need to be our CBs. Front line is pish. Nothing new tbh. Until we get better wingers and striker it'll be the same story. Wright matondo dessers dowell lorry, mccausland (although showing flashes) are no where near the level required.

KAD87

We should get rid of the manager after first game of season! The decision by the board was actually a message. Loud and clear…we back the manager. It was designed so people understood that this is gonna take time and not moan and put pressure on from the 1st set back. But yet…

David Hanlon

Tav has to go. We need a striker who can score.

Scott Tolmie

Diomande with his usual performance, rotten. Are we fitter than last season, not for me, not sure what excuses the manager will use this season.

Neil Wilson

We're in a weird hinterland at the minute. Stuck between the old squad and the new squad. The quicker we can shift the older squad players out and bring in better, hungrier players, the quicker we'll gel and start performing.

Scott

Tav has lost about two yards of pace, time to go.

KAD87

We should all just accept where we are and back the manager and the team. We wanted a rebuild. We got a rebuild. It takes time. Back the team

KAD87

Nice to see so much support from you after the first game! Wave of negativity man. Get behind the team.

Graeme McLeod

It's hilarious to see. The arrogant way some their noses up at signing Scottish players. Years of signing foreign journeymen and English lower league journeymen have brought us one title and two cups. Spent millions last season on three strikers that Beale proudly proclaimed were better than any in Scotland, and they're all average at best. Our recruitment is farcical.

KAD87

We should get rid of the entire team, the manager and the board! Or…we could stop being so negative and support them.

JimGLW

Good honest pods guys. We are an utter mess in every single area. Tactically rotten too. We're in for a rough August. It's a shame the new Hearts players don't need the standard 9 month bedding in period that ours seem to.

Granters

I’d guess we’re actively trying to punt both in the next couple of weeks and don’t want any knocks getting in the way of that.

Spoon

Have to say the focus can be on the usual names but that’s not a good set up for what we have. Do we need upgrades, absolutely but tactics, shape and intent just aren’t there for me. Naismith moved Shankland one deeper knowing that it would be the best fit for the team and his tactics, ok the plan didn’t ultimately work but you could see what he was trying and how he was utilising the assets of his squad. We do the same thing week in week out and then blame the Striker or the Centre Back or Winger. We look poor in transition and toothless up front. Lot of work needed beyond just bodies in and out. I totally agree on squad quality but are we saying until we have the perfect squad we can’t see graft and craft? Blaming any one or two players is letting a host of other issues off the hook in my own view.

Martin Boyd

After the first 20 minutes we were fine. I could see patterns going forward afew bad decisions on the break or poor passes cost us chances. Center defence should improve with Proper it would be good to get a decent midfielder in as well. Besides everything going on I didn't think it was rubbish. Players out and new ones in please.

Heart and Hand

I can’t help think football isn’t as difficult as we make it sometimes at Rangers. Today being an example.

KAD87

Last year the players weren’t good enough but now because he had to start them again it’s his fault? From the starting eleven he signed 3.

Gary Shaw

I always support the team and want them to win as much as the next fan but my eyes and brain don’t lie 👍

Robert White

Finally some sense. We have squandered tens of millions on mercenary jobbers. Ignored good young Scots. Major reason for our current position.

Paul

Back the team and the manager. Despite what your eyes tell you. Yeh I'll make up my own mind thanks

Euan Dover

Nine months in and still no semblance of tactics. Not one part of me believes him getting his own players will make everything okay. I’ve seen nothing to hang my hat on with this guy. Another ‘pragmatist’ type manager (which is really just code for ‘I have no real style of play’).

Ally Mair

Need a rebuild after last season so ……we start with 1 new player ! Why do we always seem to sign players that take weeks to get up to scratch but every other team can play their new players instantly , start of season and I’m already depressed 😔

Jim Milne

So we can't expect a manager to coach players to play many different patterns or styles? He has signed 9 players since he was hired, 10 if you count Silva who was a huge and likely costly failure. Propper gets a pass for today. 3 that started, 3 on the bench and two more not in the matchday squad. A striker and defender who by his own words "aren't ready for this level".

Paul

We have a manager who insists on playing a 10 who can't press, leaving the midfield wide open. Our defence is weak. We can't even handle the basics and resort to playing hoofball. That is his tactics. Yet, we're told to wait until he gets a full pre-season and the players are fit... Now we're hearing that we won't see the best Rangers until November. But we can't blame the manager.

Paul

If he rightly gets praised for how he got the same players playing when he first came in then he takes the criticism when they don't.

Russ

Point and clean sheet at Hearts isn't bad by all means. If Pröpper can come in and be transformative like VVD was for Liverpool (it took klopp 3 years to get a style of play sorted btw) then we'll be better for it. Also, if we're persisting with long passes to the 9 - go and sign fucking McBurnie or someone! I've seen 0 links to strikers that fit that role either, which is even stranger. Ah well. C'mon Rangers.

Graeme Glennie

This isn't a fresh start, this is a continuation of the nonsense we've been dealing with for God knows how long. I'm seeing a defence of tavernier on social media and to be honest a severe lack of criticism from his performance today. I thought he was abysmal and his attitude stinks (which quite frankly has been the case for a long time) he might not be the only player who is an issue but he is a senior player, and the mentality im that dressing room comes from the senior members. Nothing will change unless we replace these players with enthusiasm and quality.

Alan Weir

Perfectly fair assessment lads. However, could we stop saying “He did the hard bit” when referring to missed chances. Playing for Rangers means you will get lots of chances against the SPL mediocrity. The hard bit, the bit that matters, is putting the ball in the net. And Dessers simply doesn’t do this enough when it matters.

Angus Mackay

Good listen, lads. I agreed with it all until you got to the shape bit. We saw Clement’s idea last spring and at the time everyone was happy with it because it was focused, pacy and direct. With the complete reset and playing with sone players who clearly believe they’re not here for the long haul, I don’t expect to see compelling play patterns at this stage. It will only begin to emerge properly from September on, until then we’re in a hiatus of sorts and it’s damage limitation really. I have colleagues on the dark side and they were saying as late as November that they didn’t really get what Large Ange was doing. It’ll take time.

Gregg

Sadly balogun won’t be able to play 3 games a week - he never really has in all the time we’ve had him. I think we need another centre half and one shipped out

Spoon

I know you guys did and couldn’t agree more with your comment, not a critique of you or Kev at all, balanced and fair but a lot out there arent. The issue for me is we are putting a lot of the hoodoo on it being as simple as moving a few on and brining a few in, I think the bigger issue is what are we as a team and how are we looking to score goals from more than one guy every game. Im in total agreement with everything you guys said.

Spoon

Not wrong bud but there are non player related issues that we could be doing far better at alongside those other squad issues.

Spoon

Agree Adam, disappointed the Kenny Mac talk died down as while by no means perfect he was the type of guy needed in spades for me.

Russ

Postecoglou also has a knack of getting penny pinching chairman to loosen the pursestrings. If we spend even half of what he did in his first 2 seasons over the next 2 then I'd be confident we'd see positive progress. Heck, look at how much Arteta spent until it started firing.

Angus Mackay

People were saying the same thing well into Arteta’s reign too, but no one is complaining now. It’s going to look a mess probably into late autumn/ early winter. We may as well buckle up for that. I have every confidence that it’ll be worth it in the medium term.

KAD87

It’s 1 game in 😂

Alan Weir

Got to disagree, David. Three times recently Dessers has got himself in the box with the keeper to beat and proved beyond doubt he doesn’t have the touch needed to lob a keeper. Also, when he does have a chance, watch how often it is straight at the keeper. No dilemma with him: not good enough.

8luenose1872

Its worrying that clement watched the same game as us but took Barron off for dowell. Dio was tiring, not at his best and on a yellow and Lawrence was towing a caravan by then. And still persisting with davies ahead of balogun which is baffling to say the least. Balogun is better than both Souttar and Davies and by a long way.

Russ

Aye I'm with you. To a greater extent Guardiola had the Munich lads going home and screaming into their pillows in his first season there because they just couldn't grasp it. When they did he pissed the league, as he does. Hopefully the penny will drop soon eh!

Paul

Absolutely spot on Andy! And let's not forget he wanted to keep his pal John but we couldn't afford him. His comments are nuts. "Moral winners" everyone said we were the better team " after losing a cup final.

Gregg

Think we need to sign good players - whether they’re from Bellshill or Bergamo, I couldn’t care less. Celtic are about to sell a guy they got from League one for c. £20m btw

Michael Gray

It was not an obligation to buy for Cortes, Kev. Don’t know it that makes it better or worse 😂

Stigger

That twat M Stewart called TC a prick live on air today. Whether he is right or wrong I urge you to complain to the BBC so he gets punted. I’m emailing them stating my five year old daughter (fictitious) keeps asking me what a prick is as Todd is her favourite player 🤣👌🏻. BBC have issued an apology.

Hendi

Hindsight 20/20 on Cortes, if it was an option to buy and he was outstanding all season, then walked away like Tillman then no doubt you'd be sticking the boot in as well. You can't get every call correct, yet there seems to be some expectation that Rangers should. We have dished out contracts to dross like Davies, Mattondo, Cantwell and Lawrence paying them crazy wages. That can't be turned around in one transfer window. If we don't have patience for the rebuild, and continue with this outrage every time something doesn't go to plan, then we wil be repeating the usual cycle and falling further in to the mire come Autumn.

Kev Armstrong

But he wasn’t. He came on loan. Got injured and we agree to pay 4mill. Make it an option to buy or take the risk.

Billy Forrester

I wouldn’t say he was rotten mate, that’s harsh, I like diomande and think he is least of our worries at present

Jim Lamb

Clement is now routinely being out played by SPFL teams. A better side than Hearts would’ve hammered us in that first half. We can’t defend, create high quality chances or score the ones that come our way. We can’t just keep blaming the players without questioning the manager (as I know you guys did). We need this to turn immediately before it’s too far gone to retrieve.

Graeme Guthrie

The manager started with 10/ 11 of the same losers from last season, what are you expecting him to do? He was doing his nut today, its clear the players arent capable of playing how he wants

Scott Tolmie

Ye but I would say that because it’s my opinion and he’s def not the least of our worries, bar Barron our midf is garbage and he’s a big part of that. He offers nothing.

John Davidson

Best buckle up and put your big boy and girl pants on people because this rebuild is going to take months at least if not longer. Things will get worse before they get better. There are no shortcuts. Either we have the patience for this or it's groundhog day in the autumn.

Neil Wilson

There are other issues, no doubt, but for the average fan, they'll put up with that stuff as long as Rangers win. The board and previous management teams have made some bad decisions in regards to recruitment amongst other things and we're paying the price now. Clement, Koppen and the rest of the football staff shouldn't have to do this level of overhaul, but we are where we are. Still hopeful that we'll see a significant number of players moved in and out of the club.

Iain Dunleavy

Look at the celtic team that won 4 trebles in a row under Rodgers last time round. Full of scottish players as well.

C. J

I have really begun to lose my faith in this club as a business operation. Our leadership are absolutely embarrassing. This is banter years stuff we’re seeing here lads.

Robbie McCarroll

Have to admit I don’t see the justification in Diomande he was poor today and has never won me over I don’t see what he brings. I had hoped he was maybe a Kamara level player with goal threat who would develop but I lost my confidence end of last season and today didn’t improve my outlook

Spoon

But we aren’t winning and haven’t won consistently in years. There are bad compline decisions that are hindering us now absolutely no doubt but we should be seeing a far better product on the pitch regardless. We have considerably better resources on or off the park than all but one of the teams we play routinely.

Nikky Cairney

Hate having to write this after the first game of the season … I have no idea what Clement is doing or is trying to do. Long ball after aimless long ball for most of the game. No style of play. No patterns of play. It’s not even as if we are solid defensively because we have no shape and can be countered on at will. Now I think making 4 or 5 quality signings will help us win games because we have better players than 10 other teams in the league. But we are dire to watch and tactically Clement is miles off it. Even with his own players I don’t see how it changes. Giving him an extension is utter madness given we could be out of the champions league come September and at worst 5 behind that lot if they win their games. You’d then have a support with no belief in the manager while we are stuck with a manager on a 4 year deal. In terms of the style of play, after our game I went to watch Airdrie to take a game in. You can see straight away how they are trying to build up with a tiny budget and a lower quality of player. It doesn’t always come off but at least you can see ideas.

Spoon

I expect after more than 6 months and being willing to freeze guys out the team who don’t follow instructions he has the managerial chops to set up a team and get his instructions across. It’s looking like he either doesn’t have a set up or tactics that work with our players OR he doesn’t have the skills to get the players to do what he is asking them to, at times it’s looked like it could be either but if he is the right guy he has to do one or the other. If the board can’t (and they have proven they can’t) provide any new manager with 11 players he wants then we need a guy who can improve what we have. Not convinced he is doing that, seemed he was for a few months so he can do it, just not consistently it seems.

Neil Wilson

We haven't been winning because the management of the Club on and off the pitch has been below where it needed to be. When you recruit poorly, management and players, it will catch up with success of the team. Clement and co are now having to make the changes to get a club of our size back on track. With the money wasted last year, they have little flexibility and would appear to be have to move players out before we can move the new guard in. The Euros has slowed the transfer market as well, which has affected our ability to move players. I do think Clement is the best manager we've had since Walter. Low bar I know, but he has a CV of winning in a similar size league with two teams. Koppen appears to be good so far. Propper deal shows someone who's got his finger on trading and maximising every penny.

Adam Williamson

One new signing in that team. A team that is weaker than the absolute shite we finished last season with. Those in charge of recruitment should hang their heads in shame. Pathetic summer, pathetic start to the season, pathetic club. So sick of it.

Gregg

We are a bit of schizophrenic support at the moment. There’s a sizeable element who have and continue to give every player that started today ( save for baron and Butland and maybe Cortes) pelters, but think we should be swatting teams aside with them. The same guys wonder why the players don’t take risks. I think the board have nailed their colours to the mast with clement - like or lump it - and for the scenario you have suggested happening, suggests they are sticking with them. Not sure what the alternative is - we end up like some Italian side going through manager after manager continually. I’m hoping we can see some more movement out in the next 3 weeks and the same in, if we can see gradual improvement then I’ll take that.

Heart and Hand

Ah right, sorry. Yeah I think at the end of the day the manager puts out the team - it's his responsibility.

Nikky Cairney

We play the kind of football I’d expect us to play if Derek McInnes was our manager. David and Kev were spot on, if we had a big striker and it worked then fine. But it doesn’t.

Spoon

All good bud, thought both you and Kevs closing remarks were right on the money. There are problems in lots of areas where we need improvement. Gaffer has to do his bit though and set up and communicate the game plan effectively he’s not immune to critique regardless of the stadium / squad stuff. If every part does their best we all win but you can’t not perform because the next guy isn’t, that’s a cop out. Structure and subs were confusing and it’s not new. Even if your resources are limited you need to be getting the best you can and squeezing everything out of them, not convinced we are quite doing that. We all want success but we can’t pretend we are seeing the type of sustained progress we hoped for a number of years now.

David Bold

I 'unfortunately' missed the game today. Reading the room on X and comments on this thread, it sounds like the manager still does not know what system or tactics he wants to play. He has had more than enough time to embed his philosophy and I am yet to see it or even a glimpse of what he is trying to do. Massive red flags.

Scott Corral

Stating the obvious is quality is required but do have worries regarding any signs of improvement in what we’ve got at our disposal

jason hart

Terrible just terrible to watch .. 90mins into season and scunnered with them already .. we would be as well saving a few quid on travel and conceding the away leg to Kiev Thoughts on matondo .. personally I think one of the worst players in recent years ... he's like a poor man's sakala without the goals

Gregg

😂😂😂😂 can you imagine - hello, is that UEFA, it’s John Bennet at the Gers. We’ve just decided to sack off game on Tuesday, aye we drew with Hearts and we don’t really fancy it. Sorry for any inconvenience and all that, can we still play in the Europa League

Andrew Orr

Defence poor today except Butland but not the cause of us dropping points. Matondo, Wright, Lawrence, Dessers just not good enough. Things won't change until we add more quality in attack.

Gary Shaw

I guarantee you that McInnes would have us playing better and with a clear plan and a shape at least.

CJT

So summing up some fans reaction to today (or more properly meaningless friendlies and today) across the social media spectrum. Butland is good but not as good as last year. Barron is OK and everyone else needs binned. Oh aye and manager doesn’t know what he’s doing, so no alternative but to start again for the 4th time in 2 and a half years. Well that sounds eminently sensible and will undoubtedly lead to success in the very short term. Not like you can see numerous examples of rebuilds taking time to deliver or new players taking time to settle or even tough times as firm foundations are laid for future success anywhere else. We need to be really careful where we’re going here. We all know a clear-out was needed , indeed we demanded it but seem unable to comprehend the consequences or implications of that. Disruption, lack of cohesion (leading to a view of lack of identity), new players taking time to settle and a shaky start were inevitable. Instead of accepting that we’re off on the road that leads to the inevitable managerial change and the need for player turnaround we can’t finance or sustain. Genuinely more worried today about future than I have been since the spivs were ousted and it’s not owners or current manager or even players, or lack thereof, but fan’s inability to accept short term pain for long term gain driving a cycle that never provides the end result required. We are the club at the end of the day. We want a club that has a strategy to deliver success. If we think that can happen overnight in a football world that is seeing the same teams dominate and consolidate that dominant position in almost every league because of the anti investment implications of FFP, we’re very much mistaken. It ain’t the 80s anymore. Ain’t no Holmes and Souness showing up. We need to buld and that’ll take time and involve bumps in the road. Rant over. To quote the old Green Day song. Wake me up when September ends.

Billy Forrester

Aye just sack off champions league, fuck it. In fact let’s just give them the treble and be done with it. That’s the spirit after game 1, game fucking 1 🤦‍♂️

jason hart

Haha I get it mate I've been following rangers for over 40 years but sometimes you just have to take off the blue tinted specs and say this team is shite and we need to get the finger out ... OR we could say f@ck em all were the mighty glasgow rangers and fear no one .. bring on Barcelona in the champs league final If you enjoyed watching that muck yesterday and see no faults then I'm drinking what you did next game

Billy Forrester

Our fans want a rebuild during the rebuild and then after the window closes they will shout for another rebuild of the rebuild that’s already started to be built. Rangers fans are rebuild daft after game 1 and they also think continuous rebuilds cost no money so rebuilds are cheap and easy. 1 game in and we need a rebuild to dismantle the new rebuild to rebuild it again. I’m away to ma bed 🤦‍♂️

Gordon Smith

I really don’t understand the contract extension.

Andrew Hillis

Clement is already under pressure! Still no style of play evident!

Lewis Wardrope

Looking back on yesterday, why did we bring Cortes out in the 2nd half? Was clearly hurt. We had Matondo & Cerny on the bench. Why risk him in the 1st game of the season? Chances are that injury was aggravated in the early stages of the 2nd half & will now be a longer term issue

Christopher Todd

I must disagree with the "they played well and we played badly and they still couldn't beat us." In my opinion, that's as well as this squad of losers can play.

Granters

It’s going to be a long season. I may need to step away from Twitter for most of it if today is anything to go by. Full of Jambos now convinced they’re finishing 2nd above us because they got a 0-0 draw at home against us in a match where we had the better goalscoring chances. Bizarre.

George Higgins

The time to start judging Clement and his “style of play” will be when he has his own players in. We have lost a lot of players with experience and have embarked on a major rebuild. A rebuild we all wanted. A rebuild that includes getting young players who will at last contribute to a player trading model. It will take time. To react now before we are anywhere near the end of the process would be madness. Too many of our fans pay lip service to the concept of patience. Time to grasp it in reality.

Tamus

But it's not one game is it We've won 6 games out our last 20 We needed charge Against hearts we started with one new player

Ranger1972

Manager said in post match that the player said he was ok at half time, he said this shows inexperience and the player must learn from it. Player at fault no one else.

Andy Barnett

The board backed the manager by already having him on a decent contract. There are far more effective ways of sending a message - like getting a SD or DoF in place to help with player transfers, or run the club better. The timing of it just added more pressure and focus on the players and staff yesterday. Another board miscalculation

Niall MacKay

A couple of little moments stand out that are absolutely incidative of this group of players. We've been under the cosh for the first twenty, as we always seem to be there (please can we just once go there and start fast?), Dessers gets the ball and turns in their half and we've got runners. A really good chance to create something. A simple 5 or 7 yard pass to either player then go and we have them stretched. He hits a ten yard pass and the chance to create a chance is gone. Matondo dribbles into the box, great position to shoot, cross or even stand still. He takes another touch and the play breaks down. We dominated that game from about the 35-75th minute in the midfield and didn't have the quality to create enough chances to take one. We get in so many excellent positions and waste them to the point I don't even get excited by it anymore. Cerny looks a step up but we need a couple more of them.

Spoon

I would settle for a rebuild that had a plan, a style of play and a transfer policy that made sense. Nobody wants a rebuild year on year, ironically we could have stuck with GVB and actually given him the players he wanted and been in year three of a project. I think the issue is through good money after bad at rebuilds and that’s the frustration. We have also unfortunately suffered through failed rebuilds that started a lot like this so making out it’s hysteria is the other side of me suggesting your just in blind denial. We are a handful of trophies from no longer being the ‘most successful team in football’ and appear satisfied with dross. If our coach can’t find a way to use his assets in a formula that wins or at least show he’s on the first steps of a path that will get us there then it’s ok to have concerns. He can always want better quality materials but meantime you work with what you have, this situation isn’t a new one in recent years. I don’t blame Gerrard for walking when he didn’t get backed, I didn’t blame GVB when he was not only given no backing but snaked, I absolutely blame Beale for his shit show, Clement is in the balance, I can live with us not quite having the quality but I can’t live with us looking like we have zero dig, drive or craft. For a manger it’s simple, you have good ideas and can get them across to the team ☑️ or you have decent ideas but can't get team to buy in or execute ❌ or your ideas don’t work in the competition even if you can get them across❌ All the off field stuff is valid, the squad quality is a second place squad currently and it’s unlikely that we have the funds to make it a first place squad but it’s a squad a decent manager should beat the rest pretty comfortably with. It’s not time to go scorched earth but it’s ok to be concerned and question.

Spoon

Was giving the benefit of the doubt bud, no blinkers here. It’s fascinating because he showed he can set up an attacking if direct team when he came in, and at that point he didn’t have any new signings. Too many managers come here and don’t realise that our domestic managers are black belts in stifling a game and playing on the break, fine to have an plan but need to be pragmatic and the idealists don’t tend to do well long term here. Gerrard football was great at times but by the end teams had worked us out. We don’t evolve enough.

Spoon

The fear is we actually become an Aberdeen constantly pointing back to a period a long time ago when football was totally different and what we did the. Doesn’t work but we can’t change. I want Phil to ditch the rigid philosophy, be pragmatic and show us he can analyse the league and work out a plan to dominate them coach’s what we have or what we can but (preferably domestically) to dominate domestically. I currently do not care a joy about Europe until we have half a dozens leagues racked up and at least the same in cups. Back to basics, total domestic focus and drop the fascination with projects and fancy imports. We need to Rocky not Creed in Rocky 4 …. old School not fancy nonsense.

Alastair McGeoch

Another first game of the season where we drop points and are scratching our heads at tactics and substitutions. Clement appears to have doubled down on “plan A will work better when I have the players that can play Plan A”! It’s essentially looking like our pre-season starts first September. Clement and the board are taking a big gamble here. Looks like a rollercoaster of a season already!

Yep - not sure where fans think all this money is coming from to change our manager every season until one wins the league .

Couldn't face listening yesterday but I'm glad I did today. Enjoyed the analysis and have similar feelings on it. Could really gone either way and over the course of a season dropping points at tynecastle isn't the worst. One tough game out the way early doors. Those saying Clement under pressure can't have read the article about his contract extension two days ago
