Starting line up filled me with dread and the actual match done nothing to lift that. Majority of those players have been there a while and yes they're not good enough, but the system and style of play are non existent. Clements message not getting across?

I'm not seeing it with Clement. That's not a reaction to today's 90 mins but to the last 9 months. He can't change a game and his persistence in playing a 10 when we patently don't have the personnel to do so is worrying. We're wide open everytime we lose possession. The problem is he's virtually unsackable now. We can't be champions with him in charge I'm afraid.

It’s one thing doing it at Hearts and another thing doing it at Rangers, Souttar has been bang average ever since coming in.

Transfer activity is going far too slow for my liking. Need to hurry up and offload some of the duds in and around the squad. We should have been looking to sell some of these players seasons ago and now it’s being condensed into one window. The more players that leave this summer, the more optimistic I will be for the future. I don’t even care what happens this season, I’ll be happy as long as the squad is comprised of new faces. Truly at my wits end every time the team sheet comes out.

It worries me that clement persists with davies when hes useless in our league, he got out muscled from vargas ffs. Also u cant keep playing tav when hes as bad as hes been lately. If sterling is not fit then balogun should be right back if propper comes in for Tuesday

It's a bit harsh Davie. Guys an international player really giid pedigree through the youths, hampered by injuries for sure, I think soutter is OK for us, Davies on the hand is not, that should be the focus, shutter will look like a million dollars will proper 😉

Back line relatively solid, but will be punished against better strikers. Can’t decide whether my opinion on Tav is subject to confirmation bias, but the rest of that back line lacks a leader. Midfield ok but lacking real flair and takes too many touches, any time we break there’s a lack of commitment to shoot or take a man on. Pace isn’t an issue, physicality may be and we’re either not getting the break of the ball or just playing passes that are too tight. Up top…Dressers! What can I say, if we had a multi-ball option in the box, I’m not sure he’d score. Got what I expected and unless I’m wrong we’ll be 2pts behind after Game 1. Strap in.

Connor Barron had a good Lge debut, JB looked solid, TL had moments. Definitely not all shit, but there’s a fair whiff of excrement at the moment across key parts of the team.

I also wish Kris Boyd would STFU, I might not like Sutton but he had some decent points today and KB just trundled out the same soundbytes and avoided being clinical in favour of just being critical.

Don’t you think the extension, constant talk of long term / developing & the managers comments pre match that ‘we have an enemy with much more money’ etc etc is the board digging in for a couple of barren seasons, so they can stave off negative reaction by placating us that it’s all a long term plan ?

Everything appears a bit haphazard right now, hoping Propper brings some stability and players can relax a bit.

Hardly surprising that the game today played out like it did, the players look like they are playing with no game plan whatsoever, far to many players wearing the Rangers jersey that are simply not fit for purpose or bring any quality to the table. The captain brings zero leadership and needs to be replaced immediately. Bottom line is unless we bring in better quality players we will struggle all season.

Matondo scoring that goal against the tims is the worse thing that could have happened to him….tries it about 20x a game….infuriating and he also plays the game like it’s all a laugh….drives me nuts 😡

We weren’t very good but we weren’t very bad either. I think it’s hard to judge on first game of season, if it is like that in a month I will be very worried but we will have a different look in a month player and starter wise. Main takes for me are that we desperately need a clinical striker, Matondo is utter donkey shite, Tav looks well past it, wright is just wright and we need to sell him for a pound. I’m not getting over excited after game 1 and think we will improve. Positives were Barron, like the look of Cerny, Cortes is good and will be huge when fully fit. Not as bad a performance as I thought after watching them pre season where we were just god awful Keep the faith, early days. WATP

Sterlin not fit, raskin injured, no cantwell... at this moment and time we are worse off relying on an unfit cortes, matondo dessers and Wright we were never gonna win that game were we? A positive to take away is that was definitely not us at our strongest and we should get better with time and players... you would think?

5 or 6 of the team are definite non Rangers starters. And the jury is out on 3 or 4. It’s a desperate situation I fear, it’s a massive rebuild with limited funds. Will we improve? Yes. Can we win the league? No, unless that mob implode somehow.
