Michael

Questions tonight over some decisions made by the manager, but the ref killed us. And that attendance was nothing short of an embarrassment.

Stephen Grant

The Kyiv players reaction played the ref , but awful decision

Paul

The responsibility lies with the manager. It's true we aren't brilliant, but when you persist with a number 10 who can’t run, you're just inviting trouble. If he does that against Celtic, we’re in serious trouble. He doesn't help himself. Selection, subs, then not responding to the sending off. He's earned that new contract though....we are a joke. Side note - can we just bin the academy, Robbie Fraser 21- years old, natural left back..nah I'll stick Ben Davies on. What's the point?

Alan

Has to be the worst decision I think I've ever seen. Ref killed the game and we lose out financially.

KAD87

Manager has had a howler. Jefte shouldn’t have been back out. Lawrence should have been off for Sterling. Can blame the referee, but were we winning the tie with 11 men?

Billy Poole

The club is in a total mess. The squad is as bad as it was before Gerrard. The board need to be held accountable.

james whyte

We are fucked lads and lassies. Strap yourself in. The season ahead could be brutal.

Ryan Jardine

Ref a shambles. Lawrence a shambles. Tav is finished. McAusland couldnae beat an egg. Dessers is chronic, couldnae trap a back of sand. Diomande been blowing out his arse for weeks. Not surprised Hampden was empty, dread to think what it will be like for a 17:45 Saturday kick off at the weekend. It’s a rare laugh eh

JimGLW

Another pish performance. Another bad result in a line of terrible results. We're in big trouble. A poor team. A bad squad. No money to fix it. A manager who is less and less convincing. A manager who was the only one in the stadium who didn't see a red for Jefte coming. And yes, it wasn't a red. But it doesn't make us play any better .

Steven Tait

Looks like bargain basements, loans that nobody else wants and young players who aren't good enough. We are such a badly run football club . A total shambles with no end in sight.

Stigger

Fans dislike of Dessers is an absolute disgrace. He’s a ranger not an away fan! Get behind him. How can that be proactively helping the team. Ridiculous! He’s the butt of all scenarios even though he may not to be to blame due to poor passing. Diomande for me has been posted missing for many games now but we get behind them and the game was shouting out for a bit of muscle.

D Mac

I am so annoyed, th ref changed the game yet again. When does it ever go in our favour. Anyway, this one hurts a little more as I got so annoyed I hacked off the wife. Never mind she just doesn't get it!

Scott Dickson

We played alright first half, we’re getting the ball forward quickly but just no quality upfront.

Scott Corral

The rule is the problem. It’s so silly that a blatant mistake can’t be rectified because it was a yellow.

David Innes

Whats the point of VAR if it can’t overturn a decision like that? Shocking performance from the ref

Delgers

The board has caused the apathy. Not one cause for optimism over the summer. The fans have been worn down.

andy m

We need to do something to get the BOARD out or we will fall into obscurity. They are taking the absolute piss out of our loyalty. Absolutely sick of this nonsense

Harry Nolan

Ref got conned all night Red card was a big decision but shouldn't disguise the fact that we've gone so far backwards in the last 2-3 years Another season written off and it's only mid-August

George Harrison

Jefte should never have come out for the second half … he’d been booked, had a couple of other fouls, one more and he’s off … Clement gambled and he’s cost us 5m …

Baz

The referee was a complete disgrace tonight, horror show and should be banned from any more high profile matches for life. The fact remains though the club is in free fall with zero leadership from the top down. Atmosphere is woeful at Hampden Park as well start of the season has been a total disaster. Don’t know where we go from here.

John Smith

As bent a ref as you will ever see. As dirty an opposition as you will ever see. Yes we aren’t at our best yet but I really don’t think you can blame the gaffer or the players. The board yes because they caused this Hampden fiasco. I get the fans frustration who didn’t turn up but I don’t think tonight the night to boycott with so much on the line in my opinion

David Campbell

A self inflicted return to the dark days before Gerrard walk through the doors. When is it time to say enough is enough. We've been through hell as supporters backed our club to the hilt everytime but it's getting tiring. Absolutely gutted at the state we find ourselves in.

8luenose1872

Ive never seen an officials team favour a club as much as them tonight( Italian says it all) was worried every neutral wanted the Ukrainian side through and that included the ref. Might be a bit paranoid but after that tonight im not so sure.

Lee Branki

We are in a dreadful dire state and it’s going to be painful. I was angry before the game tonight about ticket sales but now I totally can’t blame fans David. I am lucky enough to go home and away with tickets but now seriously considering cutting my travels for the year, the board have made a rip roaring arse of it and Hampden after two games has made the majority of the bus I travel on not willing to go again.

John Smith

The minute we were drawn against a Ukrainian team I was worried about this happening. It’s clear for everyone to see exactly what was going on tonight. They pulled the same shit on Tyson Fury when they robbed him against Usyk

Granters

It was an awful ref call, but really this board has not behaved like a board who thinks the club can progress to Champions League football. It is very reminiscent of Malmo; relying on blind faith and optimism rather than adding the quality to the starting 11 that would’ve negotiated a very winnable path to the CL. Years of poor recruitment is now coming home to roost. Staggering to think you’ve players like Cantwell and Hagi sat at home contributing nothing. Can’t wait for Monday’s announcement that Sima has joined someone else on loan for the season with an option to buy.

David Innes

Get the board out then what? Take money off some dodgy venture capitalists? I don’t like them either but they’re the only show in town and despite their epic incompetence they do have the clubs best interests at heart.

andy m

If they truly have the best interests of the club at heart, they would sell up to suitors with half a footballing brain in them

Spoon

I get your point, I think the ref was horrendous but we had pressure and chances to make it irrelevant if we had scored. The game was there for us at 11 v 11 if we had the quality to take our chances, thought the wingers and Lawerence were very poor. If we havent realised that Dessers isolated doesnt work by now I despair, its nothing to do with hold up its to do with the forwards all being wide and Lawerence having no legs. Some of Dessers lay offs and links ups were good, McAusland and Jefte were dire, Tav and Ridvan weren’t much better. Barron far too deep and Dio is fading out of games despite being tidy. To focus on Dessers is a red herring to me.

Spoon

Stigger totally agree bud, the folk who obsess on Dessers, Wright, Souttar, David etc miss the point, the rest arent that great either. Thought Propper was poor all night and hardly cut out a cross, the full backs were dire and putting Barron into a role that saw Lundstrum slated between the centre backs baffles me. Dessers lay offs and hold up was fine, people have simply made up their minds and make it fit. I get it when we are all desperate for a ‘problem’ so we can fix it, Dessers isnt the problem, he isnt perfect but one man doesnt carry the responsibility for the whole team.

JimGLW

Fans being at the stage they can't be bothered going to CL qualifier at home says more than any post on here could. The fans are done with it. Severely worrying.

JimGLW

They must have got to us too. That would explain such rotten performances.

maccalsa

Honestly after the whole debacle with David Murray, Craig Whyte and Charles Green, -- and I'm not saying told you so as I was duped by some of their antics,-- we should be happy with the devil we know With all that experience why so quick to turn on the board? There is no sugar daddy, we are a small freckle on the massive arse of football. Outside of our own bubble we are insignificant. Nobody wants to rebuild us, but I'm ramn sure the vultures will flock to asset strip us

andy m

Fair point mate, but surely a club with the amount of revenue streams and potential could be run better? There's clubs in the SPFL that are run better. John Bennett is a weak chairman and it trickles down to every level. Anyone can see that. Sorry, just so frustrated mate!

maccalsa

He gets a bad rep, but tries his best. I think he did the lone job pretty well today, tried to hold the ball up, won a lot of good lay off headers in the air. He made 2-3 mistakes where he lost control at an important time, and a few of his layoffs didn't work towards the end. He had one half chance, hit it well, straight at the defender. Not sure what fans expect a player thst cost us £4.5m to do. If he was twice as good as he is he wouldn't be playing for us.

Stephen

It’s mad they can analyse an offside decision one yard into the opponents half but can’t overturn a crucial game changing decision like that.

Stephen

Problem is we need a clinical striker and Dessers is not that. He would get less criticism if it was the other way round and he was bad at the hold up play but scored with the majority of the chances he gets. He is playing a role for the team but it’s not the role we need him to do. Feel sorry for him that he is the only one available and doesn’t get a break though.

maccalsa

Did I dream that Clement said at the end of last season that the club were losing key players for no value and the issues with the club was that they didn't have a sustainable transfer system to replace them. This happened right? So who believed that we were going to turn over the squad this summer? It was always going to be financed from sales from the current squad

8luenose1872

How can a manager put his no.1 CB up front with 10 men at only one nil. Its was suicidal coz it played a huge part in us losing that 2nd goal imo.

8luenose1872

Yep, he had a go at the crowd when they moaned at a chest flick on when he was surrounded and lawrence should have been making the effort to get up to him for the flick. What else could he do but try what he did.

Spoon

Stephen, in our solo striker style and in our budget we aren’t getting the striker people want. A solo striker style needs support and others to carry some of the goal burden, they also cost a fortune if you want them to bang in 40 goals, we won’t get better than Dessers bar possibly Shankland who simply fits Scotland better. The boy Danilo has done nothing and cost a fortune yet people are desperate for him to be fit so they can put all their hope into him. He might well be amazing, he might break down, his knee might be goosed or (based on his record to date) he might get about 20 goals. The clinical thing doesn’t add up to me, if you shoot 10 times and score them all is it better than hitting 50 shots but only getting 25 ? Dessers conversion rate is as good as anyone else in the league and at one point was better than Shanklands. The boy isn’t perfect by any means but we are wasting a huge amount of time focused on Dessers who is functioning (although perhaps not to our satisfaction) where other guys are in the reserves, perma injured or contributing the proverbial square root. Your comment is fair and I agree with the sentiment but to my mind the obsession with him just lets others avoid the blame. I have absolutely loved watching Barron, if however he is now the new drop back into defence guy then I’m done with the manager , thats that’s the wrong way to screen the defence or build play. Especially when we have a dysfunctional 10 doing nothing, go 433 or 442 and get Barron forward into the engine room, that to me is where the issue really is, chance creation.

C. J

When the manager continually makes decisions we simply do not understand, the writing is on the wall. Gerrard maybe took too long to make subs, but his choices in game were always on par with the fans’ views. Clement is too myopic and isolated, he thinks his way is the only way and he just doesn’t seem to understand that 2nd place is last.

James

If you think about it for a minute or two I think it becomes clear.

Kirk Guthrie

I'm with clement 100% that ref fucked us and us until then I had a really good feeling, despite our shortcomings.

Elaine Campbell

Listened to the captain's press conf this morning becuase I couldn't face the usual "obviously it's disappointing" "we dust ourselves off" and "we go again" epithets. Needless to say I was not "disappointed" by him. Well at least on my expectation of the content. What I was disappointed at however, was how defeated and passive he sounded. We are in.big, big trouble.

John Myles

I’m sorry Martin I totally disagree that referee was totally biased the only reason I came think of is the sympathy vote for the Ukrainians

JimM

He’s seen something that hasn’t happened 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ wtf does that even mean

chris smith

Kiev were at it all night and the ref lapped it up … all night. At the end I was half expecting the Scooby Doo crew to cone on and unmasked the ref as Fether Clancy …

Linda Mackay

The over reliance on Dessers does not help him. I don't think any of us would have believed that we'd go into the new season with one fit Number 9. It's astonishing that in such an important game we did not have another striker (any striker!) to put on to try and get us a goal. We had to put a CB up front! Manager still trying to juggle so many balls again with who's available and an injury list growing like last season....Raskin, Cortes, Balogun and now Ridvan.....it's a curse!!

Martyn Ramsay

Can’t recall my exact words but it means that he may have thought that he had seen something that he hadn’t. Literally happens to people all the time. Brain tricks you into seeing something that wasn’t there. I’ll leave the grand political conspiracies to others but either way it was a shocking call with the game in such a balance. But it shouldn’t deflect from far bigger issues.

KAD87

lol. We should sack the manager? What do you actually expect this season?

JimM

What I wrote is what you said Martyn and for the life of me I can’t see how that ref and / or that decision can be defended or excused. That sending off cost us the tie. I do have other opinions on the match, team selection etc but my comment is based on your comment, that’s all and no conspiracy theory. Totally agree there are far bigger and deeper issues and I have lots of opinions them also 😉

Andy Barnett

The time for sacking him has passed. We need to change that cycle and the issues we have are far deeper and more serious than simply the head coach. But expecting proper setup, a style of play, improvement at set pieces, signing players who are actually ready to play - they all rest on Clement.

Jamiedfa

If only he had support from willing runners from midfield not Lawrence

Spoon

Think the wingers being wider and cutting in is meant to give that front three but something is lost in translation either tactically or just the limitation of our personnel. I don’t envy Clements tool kit but I think when you find yourself with a situation the good managers find a workable solution instead of sticking to doctrine. There are so many facets to the issues now it’s hard to know where to start fixing them.

Spoon

For all the stick Dessers gets, I think he is allowed to bite back now and then. Perhaps not the wisest but you only have to look on any forum and the view is polarised on him, there aren’t many floating voters or mediates he will win over toeing the party line. Feel sorry for the guy, he isn’t perfect and has his issues but at least he has heart. The two missing strikers might elect to stay missing as they are coming in set up to fail if they aren’t prolific at a pretty high bar level.

Niall MacKay

If the referee saw something that didn't happen then the decision should have been straight red. Three bookings in the game, none of them warranted and none of them for Dynamo who were play acting all night. Seems to me like he had a result he wanted and got it.
