Clement is gonna start losing players in that dressing room with his decisions. I thought sterling looked off it tonight but constantly being on the bench when others who are offering fuck all are playing ahead of him must have him thinking wtf is going on. Both sides of this are true - the performances do seem to be improving, albeit slowly from a really low base, and also Clement won't survive the absolute doing we are getting at Celtic. It's a shame because yet another manager will solve nothing.

Dessers is a massive issue, he can't hold up the ball, poor touch, zero pace. Fine he gets the odd goal but anything good that happens from the midfield to the front line dies because he is poor, don't dress this up if we are a serious football team that wants to win things we need to replace him, and the rest

You can't sell players that no one wants and that clearly is the case with both Hagi and Cantwell, who both knew in early June that their careers were away from Ibrox. Also EL finances were always in the bag so why spend that money now, if going to be spent it should have been earlier with CL qualifiers in mind. ,Everything about Rangers just now is so dispiriting, not felt this low since Pedro was in charge.

Appreciate it's raw, but calm heads needed. Rebuilding will take time, CL level beyond this group, three or four windows needed to upgrade. We can stick with Clement and build, or get stuck in a cycle of hire and fire.

It's gross mismanagement on every level, and I fear we've reached a point where the fans will turn on the players, board, manager and club as a whole. A soon as I hear its Dessers fault I switch off to whoever is speaking as it’s just a nonsense. Another 90 minutes for a guy who gets zero service or support but all the blame. Cammy your comment was spot on, Dessers link up and lay off was decent tonight. Propper allowed every ball to cross the box and did nothing, Ridvan and Tav were rank, Dio was largely anonymous, Barron channeling the worst of Lundstrum was bizarre, Lawerence did nothing and the wingers did very little…..but Dessers. Danilo probably started limping when he was told he might play having realised he needs to score with every touch, up front on his own or he’s a dud. The set up is wrong, we should have had Sterling in a 433 and protected the defence that way not with Barron sitting in the 18 yard box. Not taking Jefte off when he was clearly heading for an early bath seems strange, sacrilege I know but in a game like tonight we might have got more out of Wright. There are a lot of issues in the club, missing out on a number of CL spankings might not be the worst thing long term as we try and rebuild a shape, a style and integrate players. IF we manage to make some clever signings we might still do something in the Europa. My hope is that we shop domestically. No more South Americans, no more injury prone guys or anyone who can’t come in for to play within 7 days. Go get Shankland, get McLean or similar and bin all the Sima talk, luring unproven players to Scotland on silly fees and wages is the reason we are fucked, we need to stop chasing these thoroughbred style players and get back to quality domestic product. Make simple, obvious signings and stop searching for magic bullets in far flung leagues. Im annoyed about tonight, Im annoyed at the ref, I’m annoyed at the board, Im annoyed that the dissenting voices who expressed fledgling concerns about the direction we were taking or the managers ideas were talked down as idiots when it’s clear to anyone who watches football that things weren’t working properly. We all live on hope in football, next week will be better, that guy might turn it around, surely this time it will be different etc and hope is good but blind faith in the face of evidence telling you things arent working isnt helpful or healthy. Especially when we have seen bits of this story before. This can still be turned around, it wont be quick and we need some stark realism as to where the club are financially to sort this. We need to start looking for smaller incremental change instead of the sea change the board have allowed us all to hope they were going for. If we dont get it right and start on the path quickly though things will go very sour fast, you can see the change in mood on the forums tonight. Let’s hope we get some solid players in soon and they are the right profile.

Yep the board are an utter disgrace and clement is getting a free ride because of it and I agree to an extent but his decisions this season with team selections have been unbelievably bad.

This will not sit well but we are seeing the club/board beginning the process of righting the wrongs since the 55 season that are absolutely on them, their decisions no question.....this will be a long process, without money to spend and my opinion is that we need to get a team that can at the very least compete domestically, we need to build from the back and be hard to beat and trust the process as the board have backed Clement......other than that we will go mad expecting this to be an overnight turnaround....it's not an acceptable position but what realistically can we as a support do about it, we can't change the board, much as we might want to, money talks in modern day football.

Complete lack of quality? I know it's a post-match but I disagree. That first half we had some quality chances through jefte and McCausland. No, they didn't convert those chances but yes, by the end of this season and this time next year, I bet they do convert. I thought we were at the point of patience to build for next season. Done by the ref, not just the red but he was at it all night. How Kiev finished that game without a booking beyond me. But Phil did not react well to the red as soon as we went down to 10, take off Dessers & Lawrence. Play a 432 with Sterling in mid with Barron & Dio. Cerny and either Wright/Matondo 🥸 up in a 2. For out ball/pace. Instead he went with a 4 in midfield which left Lawrence (no legs) and Barron in centre and Dessers isolated. Then we go mental when it goes 1-0. Keep the head for 5 mins, then go for it. Just lost the head and any shape which killed the game

Never hear so much nonsense about the manager. He’s playing the players the way he has to at the moment. That’s not incompetence or questionable, it’s the hand he’s been dealt. That isn’t;t on him. It’s on the board, but the main reason we lost this game was the referee. The decisions were scandalous and have cost us a huge amount of money. The board need to be creative and find the funds for the manager or it’s going to be a slow process in rebuilding this team. They have to deliver.

Clearly I am dissapointed but we have no idea the problems Clement is facing I feel with our financial problems his hands are tied behind his back trying to chances with injured players ect with no players coming in...he is struggling bacause of our last 3yrs problems so we are going to have to grin and bear it while this mess is cleared up and back him ..as for the game the Ref was totally s####e...sorry at this level officials need to be totally proffessional and not make bad decisions....the ammount of time the Ukraine players rolled about the park in both games and seem to be getting away with it....they won tonight but their cheating antics did nothing to do honour to their country...I think they were the stronger team and could have won in the end without all the dramatics...a few yellow cards could have stopped their antics....and I am sorry as much as I want to give the Ukraine people a bit of light in their lives..I hope this team get knocked out in the next round.

That's pretty much my point though, that's the lense I was watching this game through. I'm as disappointed as the rest, but I saw some sparks there to give me hope for the future. Seeing clement really giving it to the ref at the final whistle also made me feel a bit better.

Incredible take guys. Fact is that the referee utterly screwed us with the red card and we were right in that game until then. I get that a loss is hard to take but this rebuild was always going to take longer than one summer. And better Rangers teams have struggled to make the UCL. Patience is required and clearly you don't have any. Referring to the manager losing his job is embarrassing from experienced podders.

As said by others this isn’t on the manager at all. Everyone’s an expert sitting in the stand. He has a really poor squad and the board need to get their finger out. The only shining lights are the ones him and Koppen have brought in.

For me the not starting with Cerny is the correct way to work. If all goes well you don't need to introduce him at all. However if needed he goes on when opposition are tiring. We were poor but that decision by the referee is a game changer, that there is no doubt of. This is going to be a hell of a long season. I don't see this team capable of challenging for any silverware tbh. Hope i am wrong but zero confidence in the club in any department

Dessers deserves all the stick he gets and properly due more. It's not only about goal scoring, so many of our attacks breakdown with him unable to hold the ball up. Not to mention his falling over trying to win free kicks that he never gets.

So it’s burn the house down and start all over again. Want a new manager every season. Such an entitled and fickle support. We were beaten tonight by a corrupt official, we were playing a quality team and went toe to toe with them and were in my opinion better until a ludicrous decision cost us any chance. Fine margins and if we had of won as I expect we would have with 11 the narrative would be so much different and Clement wouldn’t be getting his P45 like a lot seem to want. Patience and understanding are required at moment however that’s not in our armoury as we think we are still Rangers of the 90s. Break required from reading comments on here for me. I have issues with the managers decision making when it comes to tactics, selection and subs. Playing 4231 to accommodate players who can’t press or hold the ball and watching teams play through us is a disaster. The 10 needs to go and needed to go a long time ago. Lawrence getting 82 minutes when he has no legs, is immobile and has added nothing to games this season. Move Diomande up there and have Sterling in the middle with Barron. Cerny not starting games to save him for later on. Matondo coming on at all when we know what he offers (nothing). He keeps saying we will be in form by October. We will be out of the league by then and the fans will be even more apathetic than we already are. The board have run us into the ground as well.

I cannot understand why they gave Clement a contract extension. All it does is mean a bigger payout when they eventually realise what some of us already see. He's likely had a pay rise with the extension. Danillo is injured and he's on the bench purely for the optics of not being seen. League has to be a priority and we need players who can come in and make an immediate impact against that lot!!!

Can someone please tell me how we can sell players, when there seems to be absolutely no interest in any of the ones we want to sell? If we as fans think they are dross, what scouts are going to recommend them to their employers as signings? I am sorry, I don’t get this attitude of the board have to get their finger out and sell them? Are we saying they haven’t been trying? Look at Cantwell’s situation. He handed in a transfer request, so he, his agent and the club knew he wanted to leave long before the press and support knew, so say since early June, yet as one of our ‘better’ players his agent can’t get him a new club - and that’s with us going to be easier to deal with as he’s transfer listed. Come on guys, just because we all want the players gone and new ones in, it doesn’t mean that we can just wish the dross out the door.

I’m shocked at how quick fans are turning on PC. We all know this squad isn’t champions league standard, a few weeks ago folk were saying Dynamo were a massive ask; now we are saying we should have been beating them when we were down to 10. Last night was a bitter pill to swallow but reality has to set in that this squad will get us nowhere, we’ve known this for a while. It’ll be a rebuild that will take years, PC has said that. Can’t seriously be throwing him under the bus already. The board should take all the blame for getting us into this mess and not taking prompt action to fix it. I’d argue that last night, following the sending off, he was being asked to do a job which is not to his strengths. Admittedly, he’s not Pele… but we’re in the SPL and have to cut our cloth accordingly. It’s not his fault that he is all we’ve got (and while it’s not only about goal scoring, it helps!) so the boo boys are not helping the situation any with him. Say if he decides he wants to leave, we’ll get 3-4 mill? I'm really shocked at this take from the podders, up until the red card we were playing well, not brilliant but were definitely the better team had chances, Mcauslands in particular and limited Kiev to nothing as in zero shots on target. Until the red card there only looked like one team was going to win it and instead of calling out the ref for a shocking call its "aw Jefte was unlucky but we can't blame that" why do we as a fan base need to react this way? It changes the game, affords them to bring on an extra striker who ends up scoring. On the pitch we've been getting slightly better each game but this result isn't on the players, they gave it their all. The blame lies solely at the board or the ref, dunno what we expect Clement to do with players we all agree aren't good enough.

I genuinely feel for the players and the manager. We were very much in the game and the players were working their socks off. Were we perfect? No and are the players good enough? Not many of them at this moment and time. but we are working towards something with zero money. The refs awful decision decided the game it was almost impossible to beat 12 men with 10 players. Gents this is the issue, you both make valid points. The board is culpable and have let managers down, GVB had his legs done after Euro final and CL secured by getting no investment. Fans turned on him and it wasn’t on him, we could have rebuilt then. Clement however must do more with what he has in terms of selection, style and tactics. He is working with less quality than we would like but what manager doesn’t want all his own new players or has a style they don’t want to compromise. He needs to work with what he has whether he likes it or not. I think both things can be true. Some of our players are t very good, many are over rated, some are over criticised but there are a key group who aren’t being used in a way that give Eltham their best opportunity to perform at their max. It’s a bit of both for me gents.

You say "Dessers isn't the biggest issue"? Nonsense. He is! Our number one priority is a STRIKER. A proper striker who can score because he knows when to shoot, can head the ball, can harass defenders PROPERLY, can hold the ball up, can pass to the wings and midfield runners, can actually JUMP - all stuff this DUD can't do. Nonsense to say that in a good Gers side, he'd score goals - he'd just miss more. Get rid, along with Tav, Wright, Lawrence, Dowell, Hagi. PS we could have done with Cantwell last night with his energy and skill.

Too easy a target all the time. He played in a poor side last season and scored 22 with no penalties. We’ve got players hiding on the bench or on the treatment table. Is Dessers the answer? No. Is Dessers the fundamental biggest question? No. The captain, the injury prone, the charlatans that hand in transfer requests and the bowling club level of a Boardroom are the problem. Agree with a lot of what Cammy says 1st half we done OK the lack of quality on the ball didn't help. McCausland done well but just didn't have the quality at right time thought Jefte on the left wasn't working at all. Whilst the red does change the game I still think with 11 that result would have happened how many clear cut chances did we create outwith the McCausland one that wasn't from a cross? Barely any and thats what kills this team no creativity. I will say it's easy to blame the board in all this they're not blameless but the manager has been here 10 months now and he has to carry the can as well. No structure to the team, his subs are all like for like instead of looking at ways to change a game and a bit like Gio doesn't appear to learn any lessons.

Mcausland is useless mate, his end product is worse than wright or at least on a par. Hit and hope tactics from him anytime hes in a good position. He has regressed unbelievably from when he first broke into the team so its clear the shirt is to big for him. I dont like saying this type of thing about young guys but he frustrates the life out of me atm.

It's a recurring nightmare. New manager comes in, we get a bounce, the hope increases, but then the inevitable happens as the team's form drops off a cliff, the injuries kick in and the support turns on the manager. 18 months or so after he's appointed he's sacked and another poor bugger comes in and the whole sorry merry-go-round starts all over again. Until we have people who know what they're doing in charge on the board we all know what's coming. I won't be surprised if we don't have McInnes in by the end of the season, and if that happens we may as well write off the next 4 or 5 seasons. We are a basket case of a club once more, and to be that from where we were in 2021, even 2022, is on the board.

Nobody ever seems to hold any responsibility other than the manager which is shocking given the state we are in. How many times have the fans heard talk of a “rebuild” and heard talk of a “plan” over the years. It’s time for the board to communicate that plan and tell the fans who is responsible for carrying out each stage. Seems like the only way the fans will get off the managers back. Getting a new manager every season is the boards way of passing the buck.

This is the absolute killer. Our leadership on the pitch including match day staff is embarrassing. Whether you like it or not but being aggressive, deliberate and at times despicable is part of the game. We need an on field captain who is in a position of influence and a team doing PC dirty work during matches, half time and after. SPFL is a joke and UEFA don't like us but we know this but plan accordingly. Some better players would help too
