The Tragically Hip Road Apples story is as Canadian as it gets.

Rona Bluebell

I’ve downloaded this to listen to on a flight and hoping there’s at least one Liam Gallagher impression. Hoping it’s Todd tbh

I'm just back from Turkey and it was 40 degrees almost every day. I must have lost 15 lb

What a pair of dicks oasis unfortunately I have driven both of them I can’t actually put on here my thoughts

William Noble

It’s funny listening to you guys reminds me of all the bands that I have driven!!

Be here now was good and I’ll die on that hill… thereafter yeah some good hits but mostly mediocre

Remember going to Hampden for a game against the shettleston harriers..needed a ticket for my mate seen a boy hand up in the air with ticket I said I’ll take that mate how much and he said £100 I said where the fuck is that for the dugout…he said I’m selling it for a mate I asked to see the ticket…it was a child ticket my mate came to the game for free that day and the guy with the ticket his pal got nothing…

Couple of great stories there David. Hell of an undercard for that Stadium gig. Easy to see how you fell away from Oasis after those early highs. They'd never beat those experiences. They've got some great songs, but I was never that into them, probably more to do with the Gallaghers than the music.

I don’t trust anyone who isn’t a musical snob. Keep it up lads.

The original Deuce Bigalow is a masterpiece! If it was made today someone would be going to prison. One for David’s 90’s Film Reviews 😎

As Todd will no doubt know, there is a street in Kingston named after The Tragically Hip. To put it in perspective Bryan Adams is also from Kingston but doesn’t get a street named after him.

Andy Bells best band was Erasure

Tom Irvine

Saw R.E.M. play Nightmoves in Sauchiehall Street in April 1984 around the time Reckoning was released. Stipe had hair.

As a young man my brother and I were the ones on our bus tasked with selling any spare tickets, both at Ibrox and away. It was a case of walking around the stadium, tickets held above our heads, not shouting or advertising what we were doing as that would be touting, and selling them for face value, or less if it was 5 minutes to kick off! It’s probably one of the things I’m most proud of about football culture in Scotland. The only time I saw anyone touring was outside Tannadice for the last game of our failed 10iar season. This Dundonian guy wanted 3 or 4 times the face value. Instead, he got a doing and his tickets were redistributed amongst the more deserving 😁

No sorry can’t agree with that only have 3 decent albums definitely maybe, what’s the story and the masterplan. And I was a fan in the day but be here now is the start of the decline!

stevan castrissios

If Oasis were a football player it would have to be Scott Wright. If his goal in the Scottish cup final was a song, it would have to be ‘some might say.’ Hope the Oasis fans enjoy their day.

Grant McIlmurray

Liked it when David Edgar described Oasis at the Barras "the best gig ever"

Ian Milne

At times it sounds like David is sitting 2 feet away from his microphone.

Joanne

I knew you were protesting too much at the start David 😃 some great stories in there, the best times are always unexpected. Good luck with the tickets!

Graham Roy

Only because it’s B sides from the first 2 albums! As soon as they got success they over thought the process and tried to do better rather than just do what they did to start with. Both of them being knobs didn’t help I suppose!

Iain McHolm

My first gig was Oasis at the SECC when they walked off stage, nearly slept in for a prelim the next day. Remember a Christmas tree in the SECC coming down that night place went mental. Travis were the support act playing the first album good feeling which I kind of still like

Stephen Fraser

I went to the last Oasis gig with my now wife, and the whole day was just random scraps wherever we went. When we got to the gig I saw a guy I know and I’d pointed him out and said something like “I’ll go see how he’s doing” before seeing him instigate a scrap. Gig was a shambles, however I still love the band. Cracking pod lads. David - I sincerely appreciate your total lack of self control with the continual digs at the band. Most entertaining 😆

Spud also played an absolute stoner hippy in one episode of my name is Earl. He’s that fried that he thinks a raccoon is his wife. Forgot about this, until I rewatched the full series about 6 months ago

Strangely in my 56 years on this planet I've Rob Scheinder has never entered my mind. Since listening to this show on Wednesday morning, him with Adam Sandler keep appearing on my Instagram feed. That freaks me out.
