Andy

David, without knowing precisely what the transfer situation is, would you say it's time for our listeners to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?

David Innes

I’ve got a work night out tomorrow- trying to tell myself I’ll just not even look at my phone until the way home but in reality I’ll be frantically refreshing the FF transfer thread every 30 seconds

Colin

Find a wall and repeatedly smash your head off it. It’s the same as going into the FF Transfer thread but will keep your screen time down.

Alan Stewart

Not going to lie, starting to get really stressed with transfer inactivity. We desperately need a DCM & AM as a minimum.

Alan Stewart

Totally agree. I’m at the stage where I would be happy with a couple of midfielders. Hopefully we are smiling tomorrow 🤞

David Innes

And a striker - unless Igamane turns out to be an absolute gem we’re one injury away from a crisis

Scott Tolmie

Genuinely don’t think anyone we sign were targets originally , we will be going after players now that we’re not on the list and agents trying to get them moves, poorest window I’ve ever known.

Martin Mcinnes

On the buying from home market, personally as a minimum, unless it's a Celtic player, we should be bidding/buying at least 1 or 2 players from the young player of the year nominees every year, using our own youth setup as a makeweight along side money. If they're not ready straight away for matchday squad should be bought and left on loan at their current club for 6 months. Lennon Miller as example, next season your adding an extra few million to his price tag, a bid of few million & King or a Lowry or Devine this summer would likely have got him

8luenose1872

It definitely seems we are going after unrealistic players and will end up panic buying and my fear is we will run out of time to get deals done. OMG if that happens then the utter ineptitude of our board will go to new heights. Lets hope im being too pessimistic and we will get a few done in time. Can u imagine how empty ibrox would be if we fail miserably in this window and get beat on sunday.

Charlie Nicolson

What was that dreadful noise at the end after David stopped talking?

James

What about Scott Wright? Is his move close, or will he do his usual and back out?

Graham Roy

Don’t worry Vladimír Weiss has just boarded a flight to Edinburgh! 😂

Graham Roy

I’m praying that we announce 5 new signing on Friday along with confirmation Dundee game at Ibrox! But then I wake up and expect some loan signings and Scott Wright to sign an extension! 😂

Paul

Tav staying and starting every week is a disaster waiting to happen

David Innes

Doesn’t even really matter if we get a result on Sunday - without significant reinforcements this squad cannot realistically hope to compete for the title

chris smith

getting close to dereliction of duty territory … has preparation for this window really being ongoing since January???

8luenose1872

Clement talks a good game regarding Scottish players but he doesn't back it up and just because he bought barron doesnt change it. Scrambling around europe trying to get players who we had no chance in getting when there are a good few gems on our doorstep

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks David 👍, getting a tad nervous got too say regarding incomings leaving it too the wire 😳

8luenose1872

And what happened to " there are a good few players who see rangers as their next club so al we need to do is get rid of some players" one CB and a player who goes back to his own club after the season isnt what i thought from that statement.

William Alston

Glass half full view on the presser being moved would be they don't want clemant to be asked questions on deadline day as he got our hopes up last week

Paul

I'll speak my mind cheers bud. It isn't North Korea.

George Higgins

As it stands right now we have only got rid of Davies on loan since Clement spoke. Let’s judge things on Saturday.

Andrew Hillis

On a brighter note a poster on FF pointed out that ex player DALCIO was part of the Red Star Belgrade team that qualified for the Champions League group stages last night! 🤣🤣🤣🤣. He was a particular low light as part of my trip watching the original Florida Cup! Keeping the faith that we will sign at least 2 first team starters tomorrow! 🤣🤣

james whyte

I hope the daily update is 2 hours long tomorrow due to announcements.

Doug

It's a two way street regarding Tavernier vs Celtic. Yes, he has his hands full with Maeda, but even so over the past eight league meeting Maeda only has 2 Goals, no Assists. One of those being that freak deflection (albeit in part due to his excellent pressing). We've seen with the right set up Maeda can be nullified however. Over the same eight league meetings, Tav has 5 Goals, 1 Assist, the most of any player from either team over that period. If we're going to remove the most prolific player in the tie, we need to be sure that a) it's not an over-reaction to a problem that can be fixed in other ways, and b) there's someone(s) who'll pick up that slack.

Graham Miller

Lennon Miller’ At this rate we couldn’t afford his dad. And can’t believe you forgot about Jimmy Nichol

Martin Boyd

I’m normally a very calm person where Rangers is concerned but even I’m beginning to get a bit jumpy through the lack of incomings. The manager must wonder wtf!

Martin Boyd

He was obviously led to believe by the people who finalise transfers that what he said was true. He’s probably as pissed off as we are. No manager worth his salt is going to come out and say things he doesn’t believe to be true.

Graham Roy

Seems fair enough but Tav was also in better form then. He’s dropped off a cliff this season but I don’t think we really have any other option than to play him

KennyY

You’re bang on. Lesser managers would have given the board the proverbial 2 fingers by now then we’d be right up the creek. This manager will 100% win us things but give him the tools for crying out loud.

William Alston

Totally agree not getting at the manager, just meaning the board don't want any more noise tomorrow, if we don't sign anyone then wouldn't be surprised if he walks but I am in the waiting and seeing camp at the moment before getting totally angry

Martin Boyd

I wouldn’t blame him if he did walk , Hell mend the board or whoever is being intransigent/ slow/ over cautious, delete as appropriate ☹️

Martin Boyd

I really like Clemant and what he trying to get us to play like but at the moment it’s like a slow car crash if he doesn’t get players I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks.

SC81

I fully back the outgoings. We weren't getting anywhere near value for money. No players in, a heavy defeat on Sunday and the board will be in the firing line.

John Smith

The way veterans are treated in this country is a disgrace and I’m so proud our club will always stand by them through thick and thin. Certain politicians could learn a lesson from us.

David

We sign no one and lose on Sunday and the season is already done

Doug

He certainly started slow but he’s looked a little more solid last couple of weeks. I think he just needed/s time to get past the knock he had and the lack of pre-season.

Graeme Price

Never got the Oasis thing but I also grew up liking INXS even before animosity. So many better bands at the time for me.

Craig Newton

Saw Oasis at Reading 2000, overrated tosh imo

Ryan Stewart

Can’t see us getting any more than two in at this point. Reckon we will end up with a CB and then either a midfielder or a winger. Will leave us well short again. I just hope when the season goes the way it’s going to go the anger is directed at the right people, and that’s not the manager

William Donaghy

It was nice to hear someone mentioning the show on today's DU question, And I agree with your favourite David. Sir Davis is mine also 👌

George D

Oasis love the mhanky mob. Why is it getting played on a Rangers podcast 🤔🤔🤔

Rona Bluebell

On a positive, tomorrow could be an astonishingly exciting day. Just saying.

Gary

Don’t really buy into the chat about us missing out on some players i.e the player from the Egyptian league due to the league we play in. The other team across the city don’t have that many issues getting the players they want in the door. We miss out on far too many that we get linked with and I would hazard a guess most of it’s our own fault.

Heart and Hand

Oasis seem to be Rangers fans’ favourite band judging by the hundreds of requests I get and the thousands of Bears desperate for tickets to see them.

Scott Kerr

Seen them once at Hampden many years ago. That was enough. Good luck to all looking for tickets

Scott Kerr

The board needs criticism but Clement isn't exempt from blame..

Heart and Hand

It’s because they have CL football, a track record of winning things and then moving players to bigger leagues and more money. None of which we have. We are years off having their pull in the transfer market. It’s sad but we need to face reality. We are operating at a different level just now and we need to rise up those levels. Of course, we appear to be operating very badly even at that level.

Scott Kerr

We won't be challenging this season David, as squad even with one or two added isn't strong enough!!

Scott Kerr

John mclellend and Jimmy Nic

Ryan McMillan

You caved in. We can’t have that at the club right now. We need winners

Gary

Agree with that, all true. I still think the amount of players we miss out on seems far too high and that’s not just down to the league we play in. Maybe as you spoke about, we are probably shopping in the wrong market at times for the budget we seem to have, that has to change.

greg sutherland

Anyone who thinks that Tav doesn't start on Sunday is living in a fantasy world

Graeme McLeod

Our head of recruitment seems to think he's still working in The Netherlands given the number of African players we're linked with. Shopping in markets like Egypt and Morocco isn't going to produce much success. You might occasionally land on a punt, but we don't have the money to take £2 million gambles on punts from those leagues.

Brian Rae

We were told Koppen was prepping for this transfer window since January. By prepping, did they mean scrambling about on the eve of transfer deadline day for player loans? Something tells me, no. 29 hours left.

Spoon

I don’t buy into us being an attractive option, would you want to play 60+ games in the sun against mostly klugger teams or play in a sunny league about 40 games with a less ferocious pace or tempo. If it’s purely money which was our ace in the hole fine, but overpaying bang average players to come here is why we have our current issues.

Craig Cation

This board will have going from the world's most successful club to only the 2nd most successful in Scotland. That will be their legacy. Ranger's deserve better

Gary

We might not have the champions league like them, but we do have Europe and are still a much more attractive option than I think we have shown recently. It’s not about spending loads of money, it’s the opposite. Go and get good talent on lower wages from smaller leagues and make them better. It shouldn’t be as hard as we are making it for ourselves. Other teams in shite leagues around the world do it 100 times better than us.

Spoon

I am delighted to be rid of Cantwell, vastly over rated and an absolute weapon of a human being. Hagi by contrast might have been told he was leaving, might have been badly advised but I suspect the club made it clear when he went loan he had no future here. I get he said he was looking elsewhere but I suspect that is down to timing and knowing he was being emptied. Now it’s clear he isn’t in demand I respect him being willing to find a solution and reintegrate. Not sure he needs to be slated for seeking life elsewhere when told to bolt by the previous manager or receiving no encouragement from the current one. We need to use our resources even if they aren’t perfect.

Andrew Hind

Skipped past that song, I thought oasis liked them

Neil

I’ll be labeled a defeatist but, based on what I can see (with my own eyes), I’ll be pleasantly surprised if this season is *not* a total train wreck. How many more managers do we have to sack to lift the curse?
