Absolute shambles. Clement can’t win a big game to save his life here. Midfield is absolutely absent once again, it’s all down to him.

GC

Pish

Nico

Nobody anywhere near clinical enough in the final third. Until we have players who can take simple chances we won’t lay a glove on Celtic

David Hanlon

We have a captain who can't defend (should have gone long ago). Also a striker who can't score, end off.

Ross Monro

As much as I love listening to you lads I'm getting so tired of hearing yous disect a defeat to them and I imagine yous are tired of doing it.

Stephen Strong

We should have been 2 up before they scored the offside one. Then we just couldn't keep pace with them. Grim but a few bright things to work on.

N_E_B

Tavernier is like a faithful old dog, you know it's time but it's difficult...

Alan

Bennett has to go. He has run Rangers into the ground on his watch. We are a shell of a football club and we are living off past glories now. Get him gone!

Gary

Our problems are huge, if we were a little bit unsure how far we were off them, then today has proven that it’s light years now! We are nowhere near them in any department of the park, nothing has changed. Playing a high line and giving away so much space in the wide areas AGAIN is unforgivable.

Stephen Gale

On days like these I really miss Hoggy on the postmatch reaction pod.

Damien Stubbs

Fair opening gambit David. I’ve been reluctant to pin anything on Clement due to the incompetence and negligence he’s had to pick up from and to be fair continue to operate within (Bennett is culpable for me and shouldn’t still be there) but in your explanation I think it’s a fair way to look at it that different people are to blame for different elements.

stephen

Fair play to each and every one of you putting this together so quickly after that absolute shit show. I will listen guys but I just don't have your strength right now.

Rod

5 points back after 4 games, sorry but I've better things to be spending my weekends doing this season that going through the loser motions again. Guess they have reduced me to being a check the score on my phone from the golf course sort of fan.

John Hammond

Hopeless yet again and we all could’ve predicted it. Same shit we’ve been served up in these games since Gerrard left.

Fraser Wells

Clement is under serious pressure. Another old firm defeat where we don’t lay a glove on them and he clearly doesn’t learn lessons from previous defeats. We still don’t know what system Clement plays and his team selections and subs are all over the place . Igamane has been missing for weeks because he’s not settled!! Then Clement brings him on in the biggest game of the season when you’re chasing 4 goals. Mind blowing

Latimer

Clement has one way of setting up and playing if that doesn't work he's absolutely clueless

mark wyper

We're not coming back from this and they will only get better we might get slightly better but never enough to compete or beat them to the league I hope I'm wrong but I'm also realistic.

Steven L

No the day lads.

Robert Deavy

We are run like a bowling club by board members who are Rangers men (as are we all doesn’t make us qualified) We need fresh ideas in Otherwise we will be behind them for a long long time Clement, I have seen nothing from him to believe he can build a team (if the board get there finger out)

Alan Weir

Not blaming or getting hysterical, but I’d suggest today’s major disappointment was Dujon Sterling. The hope that we had a midfield powerhouse seems to have been misplaced. At best, he was slow and cumbersome; at worst, he looked disinterested and borderline sulky when things didn’t go his way.

chris smith

Disgraceful but not unexpected. Ultimately the board have been asleep at the wheel since 55. Shameful.

David Innes

If you’d told me at the end of last season we’d be lining up in the first OF game with Tav, Matondo and Dessers in the team I probably wouldn’t have believed you - summer business has been shocking and we will genuinely be lucky to finish 2nd

Fraser Martin

They've got 20m new on the bench, made 10m profit this window and, courtesy of us, will rake in at least 15-20m more than us in europe this season. The cycle is set.

Derek Main

We all desired that midfield 3 and I was buzzing before ko, but they were chasing the proverbial crisp poke all game. There’s unfortunately not one player I’d give pass marks to.

Colin Mathie

The useless fecker has been here since the Warburton era, he should've been sold after 55.

David Smith

No way to break that down other than DISGUSTING.. All this talk of a rebuild, players ages, needing time to settle.. "we will work hard"... BLAH BLAH BLAH... where is the fight, passion, energy, creativity??? You dont need to be settled or to be a certain age to have those qualities..Only 2 that I could see trying were Raskin and Igamane..but we were 3-0 down when they came on.. no pro-active changes made from Clement.. too little too late.. thought he had Balls.. I'm a big Tav fan but today confirmed for me that he's done. He has to be dropped.. is Clement fighting a losing battle because of the board?? Gerrard walked cos he wasn't backed.. Gio sacked.. but wasn't backed.. you can't tell me that Gio said to Ross Wilson "go and get me Ben Davies and Rabbi Matondo.." man had us in a Europa League final and he wasn't backed.. we spunked millions on players that used car salesman Beale wanted.. shipping Cantwell out for Peanuts... the list of failings goes on and on.. we're a laughing stock

George Mclachlan

This has to be the one-sided Derby on the planet. We're a guaranteed 6 points for them at home and for us a best at draw. We can't keep going with system against them.

Andy MacArthur

We have regressed so far the last few seasons, it’s unforgivable. Gerrard took us from whipping boys to them genuinely fearing us. Now the gap is as big as it was under Pedro. How long can the board continue unchallenged for their incompetence. I keep defending PC but these results and performances keep chipping away at any belief I have in him being the right manager. It’s grim times, I can’t see how we claw the gap back.

Gary Shaw

David, I seen a tweet you sent out earlier about lack of skill/organization/desire being on the players/manager/board and I could not disagree one bit……I’m not singling out one player coz I genuinely think they are all that poor and we ,as a club are afraid of that lot……and for those who think we’d get even £3m for Butland are absolutely delusional.

Andrew Hind

We got an early warning this time and still the same nonsense as last season, lucky to get out of there without a real bad one

Ross

There is no hope with this manager and board. Understand Gerrard got the time but it was clear what we were trying to do, especially in Old Firm games - there is absolutely no progress to cling on to here. The rebuild? We should be rebuilding with actual players and tactics that we can work with. There is no identity, no desire and no leadership anywhere. There is a much bigger issue overall, as a club we accept all the shit of the day, we are reactive (sometimes) instead of proactive. That mob across the city would sell their granny for any advantage, we don’t play the same game. We aren’t streetwise and look weak, an absolute doormat. We need leadership and identity at every level but we are miles away.

Stephen

I agree. The financial gap is too much now. Much like the gap between us and Aberdeen etc. it’s not just a matter of sacking the manager to try and fix things or starting afresh at the start of season. We will finish 2nd for years to come. Even if we spent £20 million they could just spent £30 million and we would end up in big trouble financially again.

Kai Armstrong

Calming down a little bit, the first 10 minutes were great, we were far too easy to break upon though. But after the offside goal the players capitulated, which we’ve seen far too often. It wasn’t even the usual case of waiting til we go 2-0 down to start playing, we never started again.

Andrew Whiteside

Short term we need to go into the free agent market and get two players. Centre half and a number 6.

David

This manager is not the answer.

David Innes

First 10 were great then we get caught on 1 counter attack, players shit themselves and the plan goes out the window

Alan Weir

Thank you Andy McGowan. I refuse to argue anymore about Dessers, and he isn’t central to today’s shambles. However, I simply cannot see why people who normally have supportable opinions consider Cyriel Dessers as an acceptable option. He didn’t “have one of those days”: he isn’t good enough in the games that matter.

Latimer

We needed to play for a point today but Clements ego knew better.

Euan Dover

The worry about fighting for second flickered across my mind today as well. Beggars belief that we’re here.

aldo adens

The day few major issues defence for one propper was one he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, tav again looks miles off it and does not look intrested i wonder if he has 100% checked out since he is still at us and not got move away. Midfield was lost for major parts of that game massive gaps between them and defence and between them and the attackers and they exploited that like every other team we have played so far this season. Front 3 looked woeful matondo showing no desire to track the run of johnstone when he could see him taking off and making the run. Cerny will end up easy to play against this season just double up on him and always have a spare man to pick up the ball when he cuts in like they did today, dessers he has to be more physical and if the ball bounces off him like it did today make sure you are letting the centre backs you are up against know that they are in a game with winning the physical battle. Butland is now a joke and looks as tho he is not intrested i have felt like that with him since he never got the england call up. The manager this is now 5 games he has had and with each game we seem to be getting further and further behind them.

Jamiedfa

Our players are a level below its that simple

Latimer

Rangers have been a leaderless team for yeeeears

James McSween

We should have been buying from the Scottish market in the summer. These foreign boys don’t get it especially with Tav as captain.

Derek MacMillan

Putting that on the manager. Why not try and mix it up with a 532 or something. This 4321 doesn't work against them

Stephen

The worse thing about this was I looked at that starting lineup and couldn’t argue with it. It is probably our best team. Still miles off the pace.

David Bold

Just feel we are approaching the territory of a headstand and some zip chewing. This manager has had enough time to show us something we can hang our hats on. No system, no tactics, no fight & desire. No improvement. Why can't the manager see what we can see with JT? Another shocking performance beyond anything we have seen before. At one point, he completely gives up when Celtic break into our box. 30 seconds later, I'm sure Kyogo makes a fantastic tackle on the edge of their box. Completely unacceptable. Nothing will change until those at the very top are emptied.

Mark Rennie

It's funny hearing Clement say we'll see the best of Rangers in October-November. That's great news because there will be no pressure on the team, as the league will be over.

Gordon Millar

We are like a failing business a lack of leadership in all key areas of the business, from the board right through the operational area & the team is frightening! If we are 2nd best and we are, be fucking hard to beat Invest in your defence with whatever money we have, sell Butland to fund better in this area....... Lastly can we have a manager who copies Walter's template for Parkhead

Doogz

Will people now wake up and realise Sterling in middle of the park won’t do. Could do a character assassination player by player, miles off it all over the park. And anytime camera panned on the manager he looked a beaten man, if he’s like that is it any wonder we had players who chucked it?

Revan1872

I agree with Andys sentiment that some younger players should be given a chance but McCausland and Fraser are both 21 now and look scottish championship quality. I'd rather we focused on the younger age group like Rica and Lovelace

Jim Milne

With the exception of 55, everytime we have had a chance to bury them on and off the park we have capitulated. OUR European performances have handed them £60m+ with our inability to win a league since 55. This feels like Gerrard's first year without the player quality but with 12 years of patience that's ran dry. I just need something more to hang onto than beating Ross County 6 nil. I can accept losing but not constantly being hammered and players accept it before the ball is kicked. I need to see more from Clement than "we won't be at our best until October/November.

John Davidson

We have a lot less money and significantly worse players. Quelle surprise, we lost comfortably. Expecting us to innovatively bridge the gap is as delusional as a TV production company that claims a lack of funding is in some way a positive because it encourages the use of more imagination. In reality, all you have left is cheap, shite TV.

maccalsa

This is mentality issue, its like the person who studies diligently for an an exam, but bottles it on the day when the realise they don't know the answer to the first question Our shape in the first 10 minutes was great. Our energy was brilliant, in fact we surprised them, but as soon as they scored the offside goal the game was over. The question had been read, the mind went blank and we panicked. You have to nurture winners, arrogance and confidence come from previous performances. We cannot buy that. We have to nurture it. I don't know how. Sacking Clement woukd be pointless

Ally Mair

Didn’t even watch 2nd half absolutely fed up watching the same shite , losers who won’t stand up to their enemy but roll over and accept their fate , put me on that fucking park and I’ll show the required desire , same mistakes over and over not tracking runners etc etc , just beyond scunnered with the club right now , but hey ho tav will come out and say he’s disappointed whoop de fucking do

Alastair McGeoch

2012 ripped the Rangers standards and identity out of every level of the club. Gerrard partly brought that back due to his being an iconic player but also addressed it on the pitch by signing Defoe, Davis, McGregor and Arfield. But that’s long gone now. You need a certain mindset to play for Rangers, to understand that Celtic stand in front of you and trophies and to go and take them out of their hands or once you win them to make damn sure you keep them again and again. Clement being 5 old firm games without a win indicates to me that he doesn’t get it. I’ll give him a pass for last season, but to setup the way we did today was criminal. Whether we don’t have the players to play 4-5-1 or not I’d like to see us fucking try it or try something different. We put a three in midfield knowing they tuck a fullback in to overload and we let it happen every single time. We can’t talk about leadership on the pitch whilst we persist with Tavernier. He embodies the mediocrity on the pitch. 1 last point, stop allowing our serial losers to talk about “we’re being used to being written off these games and it doesn’t really bother us, we’re confident yadda yadda” - no more worthless word salads before games - start doing the talking on the fucking pitch.

Dougie

Thanks guys! Hasn’t helped but thanks 😊

Buff Richardson

Normal day at the office for these charlatans, no confidence, no heart , no desire , sickening!!

James Macleod

You listen to the Clement after the match he is deluded. Stats might be equal but the teams are miles apart. We can all see it dont lie to fans.

Dougie McAllister

We need to stop using Sterling as an utility player and play him at RB

George Mclachlan

Appreciate the post match after a defeat. Fair play lads 👊🏻.

Allister Cooke

Was it only me, but I thought Igmane looked like he has been kicked out of his WeightWatchers club for eating too many pies.

Scott Hamilton

Getting to the point I could copy and paste the same responses affter these We are utter pish No noticable improvements/indicators that something clear is being developed within the team Shite

William Cameron

Clement is not the guy. We need to bite the bullet now rather than let’s this shambles run on until it’s inevitable conclusion. We can’t match them off the park, they are light years ahead of us financially, so we need a manager who can do something different to close the gap in these 4 games a season. The evidence is clear Clement is not that guy.

greg sutherland

A pessimist is never disappointed. I fear that fans will drift away, it's been going on too long. We have very little to cling onto right now, and I think we really should blood the youngsters where we can

Craig Murray

We were terrific until the offside goal, but as per usual the minute we go a goal down we shat the bed, it’s time tav was dropped and can we stop t he sterling crap, he’s brutal play him at centre half or no where he has zero quality, we are years behind them on and off the park and it’s going to get worse.

William Electricity

Are we honestly saying terrific though? Get what you are saying but it’s hardly like we were bombarding Celtic with chances

Spoon

McAusland is just not very good at this point and he’s too old to be considered a youngster. Thought he was very very poor today and not great since start of season as a whole.

james whyte

Who are the leaders at the Club on and off the pitch? Can anyone tell me because from the top to the bottom I just see nothing of any substance. Weak throughout and I fear this is us now. Way off that lot and no way to get back at them. I am worried for the long term not just this season.

Graeme McLeod

There's no proper CEO or David Holmes like character actually overseeing the running of the club, and all issues stem from that. And appointing the vice-chairman of St. Mirren, who hasn't exactly been a roaring success there? That doesn't scream out "best in class." But is it really a surprise that a foreign manager with no previous understanding of Rangers, a rookie head of recruitment with no previous understanding of Rangers and an island of misfit toys foreign signings don't get what Rangers means? Guys like Albertz, Amoruso etc did because there were real Rangers men around to drill it into them; guys like Novo and Marvin Andrews did because they'd been in Scottish football for years. Who drums in the standards now? Tav? Souttar? We'll continue to drift further away from the identity of the club as none of these issued will be addressed.

Rona Bluebell

We need buckets and buckets of steel and patience. Knee jerk ‘clement needs to go, sack the board etc’ will not help.

Duncan Smith

I'm kinda starting to agree with you on that, much as I hate to admit it on the manager.

David Walker

Andy talking about physicality…”we need 6 physical players to compete against Celtic”. What 6 did they have Andy? Carter Vickers, Scales and maybe Johnston. Nonsense.

Rona Bluebell

We cannot keep doing this de ja vue replace the manager act. It then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy of rinse and repeat. Time to lie in the bed and rebuild

Fraser Martin

I have absolutely no faith in Danilo leading the line.

David cation

It’s Tavs meek acceptance that’s really starting to get to me. I’m now convinced he gos in knowing he’s going to lose his man at the post and almost like “see, I knew this would happen”. He needs taken out the team now. Not only for the clubs benefit, but for his own, things are going to get worse for him.

Latimer

This is a board who were hoodwinked by Beale and now look to have been done again by Clement into extending his deal.

David Scott

Any manager that persists with Dessers as his main striker at this level should not be manager of Glasgow Rangers

Spoon

Broad generalism but we need to stop pretending we aren’t now a squad of jobbers. Our players are of a terrible quality and we have to stop over hyping them. Incredibly poor across the board and singling out any one individual is pointless this is a collective who are a sum of poor parts. Sadly it also seems they aren’t being led by someone who can get more out of the raw materials by cleaver set up or tactics. That’s what we need. I would give McInnes a call and have him on standby as despite all the derision he gets he can at least set up a team in Scotland and work with back raw materials. We are kidding ourselves with these European project managers the same way as we do with our project players.

Douglas Innes

We lack pace all over the pitch to compete with them , whether that's the board or the manager we're a slower team in and out of possession going back to Pedro and murtys sides .... we're slower when the pace of the game is getting quicker

Sandy Fraser

We’re past wanting to listen to rants too Andy. You’re bang on with everything you say 👍🏼

Calum Robertson

Regarding Andy’s call about using the youth players we never do, when Barasic was at the WC we played Devine for 4/5 games does perfectly fine then never seen since, McKinnon we play in an away game at Benfica but won’t give him experience like 20 minutes against Ross County when we are 5-0 up. Not saying we fill the squad with youth but by the end of the season we should have some of them having made 10 - 20 appearances

Alastair McGeoch

Agree. One thing that always pains me is that once Tav, Goldson et all won the league they didn’t get the taste for it, kick on and go for more. The squad seemed to take nothing from the experience of winning the league, the fact that we relied on those same players for 3-4 seasons is part of the problem, as is going into another old firm game with a Captain who’s lost more than he was won against them and watching him do the same shit again. Ack well…

Douglas Innes

In regards Souttars brain freeze and in 2nd half Tav under pressure just outside the box kinda swivels and plays in field 10 yards to a celtic player as a team we fail to clear our lines celtic in a similar situation clear their lines or find row Z .... we never do that

Fraser Wells

Buzzing to get back to ibrox so I can boo this spineless sorry excuse of a rangers team

Dingus

Not all. We’ve seen promise with Baron and Dio together and then we change it to try to find a solution to the No10 problem. Playing Sterling in there is desperation. Find what works and stick to it. At least one part of the team may still function - instead of what we have at the moment where not one area of the team is functioning. Exactly who was supposed to pick up any scraps off Dessers today ?? They were so far away Dessers was fighting for the first and second balls. Horrific and 75% on the managers shoulders.

Jim McCutcheon

Shit show from the top down but now we are in the revolving trap of terrible board questionable manager and pleading no cash imo 🤦‍♂️

Craig Murray

And I meant to add butland needs dropped also

Bob MacCallum

See my tiktok on today's disgrace. Bobmac@fanofgers.

Alan Weir

He seems to be a “few nice touches” player. Doesn’t have the physicality or skills to dominate a game or even keep a backline on their toes.

iain riach

Thanks for this gents but you could have had a rest today. Just play any of last seasons Post Matches against them. Nothing has changed.

Thomas

Dessers needs to be benched. I’m sorry he can score 40 goals against the dross this season. If he can’t score in the big games he’s no used to me. He needs 5 chances to score 1 and he doesn’t get that in big games

Colin Gardner

Sick of the sight seeing Dessers and Matondo in our side. Wage thief's and heartless. Id like to say what I really think of them but fear I'd get a ban. Tav great servant but that wee prick has your number. McCausland just hasn't got it. Powderpuff again. Sick that they chunts piss over us every time. At least look as though you care and match their desire instead of shiting the bed every fukin time we go there.

Colin Gardner

Agree I'd rather persist with a half fit Danilo than watch him burn ma fukin eyes every week!

Thomas

As for tav. We are gonna witness a regression like McGregor in his last year if we won’t drop him

Craig

I have already got plans for those nights that do not involve football - I’d rather have the flu than watch those games

Derek Main

Totally agree bud, the problem is the formation. Maybe now we’ve actually signed a real 10 it will help. But the lack of cohesion in the whole team, especially today’s sticking plaster was a fkn shambles. I was slaughtered last year for saying that Clement was blinkered in his approach. The defence also is rudderless, allowing that chasm to form between midfield is fkn terrifying when we’ve led to believe that Propper is our new captain, I haven’t seen much yet. I think Barron and Diomande are forming a good partnership but Dio is not a 10 and there was no guidance in midfield from anyone it had no shape. I could go on about every aspect today but hope you get my point.

David Innes

We need a manager who can make a team hard to beat and more than the sum of its parts - fancy tactics aren’t required to do well in Scotland especially when you don’t have the players to carry them out

Bryan Watson

We were cowardly and pathetic and we got what we deserved which was a fat heehaw. I see where Andy is coming from kinda with the physicality point but I think thats more an issue of heart and conviction. Only ones in their team you'd really describe as "physical" are Carter-Vickers, Scales, Johnstone, Idah when he came on. Hatate, McGregor, Maeda, Kyogo, Kuhn, Taylor, Bernardo all absolutely dominated us today because they worked harder and wanted it more + they are decent players. Nearly had an anyuerism with that Souttar incident in the first half just so lazy and shit. Above all we are mentally inferior to them. We were doing well, pressing, creating decent chances and then they had the ball in the net and we chucked it. Unforgivable Manager has red flags, why try 4-2-3-1 when it doesn't work for the 5th time. His comments after the game about beating Ross County 6-0 are equally as concerning but don't think we can afford to sack him. Nothing changes until we have some half decent leaders at the helm of the club and that won't happen until someone is willing to buy these clowns out or they appoint and trust a really good CEO to run the joint (which they wont do because they are too involved and don't have any self awareness). I genuinely do have a special disdain for our board, using terms such as "Founding Fathers" to describe themselves on stones outside of Ibrox (genuinely shows how highly they think of themselves, total delusions of grandeur) whilst serving up shambles after shambles. They may be well intentioned, they may be "Rangers men" but what they are for an absolute fact is wholly unqualified to be custodians of our football club yet they are the ones tasked to get us out of the deep rot they created. If you think they can do it, I've got a chocolate teapot to sell you. Said it after Kyiv and I'll say it again, we are down one almighty hole and I have no idea how we get out of it.

Latimer

Just had a thought that cheered me slightly, Cerny is only a loan. Small mercies.

Stephen Fraser

Agreed with the game analysis lads. As for the bigger picture, I also think we need to go through the motions. This is another sore one to take although I'm prepared to wait to see what the squad is going, come October / November time. I agree with Davey - he'd best stay away from telling us about a different game that he saw. We were completely outworked today. On the players, Tav and the defence in general remain a concern. It was nice to see Dessers do well recently, but I think we'll do well to see him not feature as much. Not totally sure about Dio, lately and I'm gutted to see Butland have such a sustained, bad run.

maccalsa

Are you the type who want him out by halloween? If so we can have our annual find me a manager who's dumb enough to come to this 12 month poison chalice We can't keep sacking managers!! I don't know what the answer is but that clearly thst isn't it

IAN OGILVY

It was a complete embarrassment and the lads have summed up the mess we are quite nicely. I am an optimist and as the lads are looking for a crumb of comfort I’d like to offer one. We’ll be fine in the Europa League at the Theatre of Dreamers because Man Ure are in as big a shambles as we are!!

Revan1872

Yeah he's very weak and doesn't really have the speed or technical qualities to compensate that. Unfortunately I don't see him improving physically enough to make it work here

Ian Cartledge

Why oh why do we continue to persevere with 4-3-3….it doesn’t work!! For the love of god make a change to the tactics!

Alan Baxter

Well at least we don’t have to watch Rangers for another two weeks! Used to hate the international breaks but they are a welcome break from the depression nowadays

Andy McGowan

Basically every one of their players, whether you class them as "physical" or not, dominated ours in duels

Spoon

Don’t disagree, we seem unable to do either currently. Bigger issue is this isn’t new and has been a problem for an extended period over multiple regimes and management teams. We should have stuck with GVB and invested in some players and we could have been out the other side by now. We keep getting seduced with the next player will be better or the next manager will sort it when the boards strategy torpedos everything at the root.

Derek Main

Can’t forgive him for not giving the ball back when he first ran out at Ibrox for the Bog Arabs, not for me 😂

Spoon

You also can’t persist with guys who aren’t making progress just because it’s inconvenient or you repeatedly appoint guys who can’t do it. Your right we can’t keep swapping but we can’t stick because a board aren’t getting the right guy OR are unwilling to back them. This happened with Gio and we learned nothing since. Clement I suspect will be out in the press soon talking about not being backed.

William Alston

The lift we need is the chairman announcing he's stepping down and he and the rest of the shareholders are going to appoint someone qualified to do the job. that's the first step that's required to sort out club out, Clement needs to also stop this we beat ross county 6-0 patter also

George Mathieson

Plenty players were mentioned with the exception off Cerny, who IMO should never be seen in a Gers line up again. One trick pony, always got to come inside but in doing so, lightweight in the tackle and loses possession very easily.

Billy Forrester

Listen tomorrow to this, the rage at moment is too much 😡 however if Tav is undroppable as captain we may as well stay at home now rest of season, he is the worst of our issues. Im Drunk now so gonna switch phone off as I don’t want to argue or go against peoples opinions, they are all valid and everyone entitled to them. Peace out and I will listen to this tomorrow with a sore head 💙

Derek Stevenson

My anger will probably kick in the more I try to digest it. Just now it’s frustration of knowing what’s coming and complete apathy. Same previous players culpable and starting to see the signs of some of the bargain basement signings limitations. Černý & Pröpper were shite. Barron and Diomande need help. Sterling doesn’t look as athletic as last year. Clement is in a hole and I’m losing faith quickly with his same mantra and blindness. What a shambles we are. But almost complete apathy wins tonight and that for me is more dangerous than anger.

James

If we actually start to take chances then we give ourselves a fighting chance. Those two early misses were unforgivable and exactly what happens when we play the likes of Dessers and Matondo. My hope is that we can fix the front 3 and that will have a huge affect on us and relieve the other issues

Billy Forrester

Mcausland was dire when he came on so what the justice in this, he isn’t good enough as are probably the rest hence they don’t play. We can’t play youth when they are shite, even shiter than what we have now 😡🤦‍♂️

Billy Forrester

He doesn’t burn our eyes every week, he is actually decent against the jobbers unlike half the clowns, he just can’t do it against the better teams, them particularly but then again who can. However he wasn’t the worst today so beat up on someone else as they were fucking worse

Jamie Kerr

Matondo epitomises the whole team today. Missed a great chance, lost his man for their goal then wanted off. Spineless and heartless. Quality of the team is lacking but everyone knows that, the unforgivable thing is the lack of heart.

Graeme Inglis

the manager coming out and telling us that it was an even game is the beginning of the end for him

Derek Stevenson

Everyone one of there players is physical. It’s not about being a unit. They work and they are physical. We are meek powderpuff gimps.

Alan Mitchell

It says it all when one of our big signings came from a Cypriot outfit then went into traffic cone mode in his first real test.

Gregg McKee

Well Davie - the manager absolutely did try to tell us what we watched wasn’t what we watched. His interviews got progressively worse from Sky to RTV to BBC He just doesn’t get it I’m afraid.

Stewart Wightman

We currently look like a very poorly coached team that has no structure or style of play

Colin Walker

We started high press and looked decent, they broke once for the Kyogo offside goal and we shat it and reverted to type. Serious mentality issue

Colin Gardner

Awe well Billy if you think he is good enough then batter in. You could get a Junior player to score against the dross as anyone with a cent of ability would take those chances. Against a half decent backline and he is honking. Throwing himself about like a big lassie complaining. Aye he wasn't the worse but he's fukin gash. Only surpassed by another heartless waster in Matondo. Sorry to say but we are a team of Jobbers now.

james whyte

I went 'all in' on Clement when he came in. Starting to think it was because he wasn't Beale and nothing else. We are being served up dross most weeks and his pressers are starting to worry me. Could be big trouble ahead.

Billy Forrester

That’s it, get rid of a guy in the door in the past month, that will work. FML 🤦‍♂️

Tolmie

Diomande, 4.5m we will never see again, dross

stefan strzelecki

Appreciate the pod today. It’s depressing. I think the confident , assertive , concentrated Clement from the presser, was not evident in the pre match interview . He looked unsure, contradicting the previous days comments, he seemed more submissive in his demeanour. The captain needs replaced, the players were physically incompetent after fifteen minutes of high pressing. This has contributed to our downfall. Which I agree is unacceptable. Clement claiming fitness is improving , is clearly delusional. I agree that compromise needs to be provided by the manager , The formation , strategy, is failing on any measure. The board need to work deliberately on the goal , to obtain significant revenue , sponsorship needs to transformative . Clement , board , and players need to work harder . I have major doubts that the manager has that decisive influence to win significant football matches .

Greg Cameron

Jefte got booked aff of Beaton with him gesturing that it was just 4th tackle. Was his first. I don't know what Jefte can do about Beaton being a useless cunt!

Tolmie

Tbh he scores against the whole league, I’m sure he has 3,4 against Hearts, bigger issues for me such as the captain

Iain Shaw

Agree with pretty much everything Andy said. Totally demoralised by that today. I still lean towards a "give Clement time" approach and let's see what he can now do with this squad, with so many of them just in the door. But at the same time, Clement's had a preseason with most of this team, and it would be easier to keep the faith if we could have seen some genuine improvement today on last season's Old Firm failings. Also, Tav needs to be dropped and it's time for a new captain. We can't go into any more big games trying to cover for his weakness at the back. He is not the same player and we can't have unstoppable players in a team that is failing consistently.

Ross Monro

A big issue wev had with new signings over the last 3 years is they are under pressure to hit the ground running more so than ever. And this is because we are crying out for leaders and saviours. Over the road their signings get time to bed in because they have a solid core of players. Because we lack so much leadership in the dressing room our new guys are getting relied on right away to make a big difference and it's a huge weight on their shoulders. I struggle to believe wev signed bad players I just think they get dragged in early to this pit of negativity and lack of confidence

stefan strzelecki

I would ask anyone who is watching the game back , to observe the body language of the captain , trying to rally the players for the task before kick off. He looks full of trepidation at what’s coming , I recall dessers looking at him . This filters to all around him . There was no leadership today on or off the pitch. The captain’s armband should be removed from him.

Derek Stevenson

Or say, go on the left wing and hit the bye line. Because playing on the right v decent clubs / left backs won’t work. Inverted wingers & a non-clinical striker will win us fuck all.

Greg

Won't be finishing behind Aberdeen ffs "wisen up".

Derek Stevenson

GVB was the architect of shiting it when the bus parked up at their place. This revisionism on Gio is mental. He started the rot domestically. He was scared to open and attack St Johnstone and the other dross.

Derek Stevenson

And tracks his man all the way for the first goal. I’d rather he have away a pen than merely went into jogging mode. Another that should be away by now. £2.5M and 28k a week since down the drain. Waster.

Ross Monro

The frustrating thing about Dio is when he first joined he was full of confidence and pinging in long range goals. I don't think iv seen him hit a shot since hearts last season. He just seems shot of any confidence

Spoon

Utter nonsense, zero revisionism and the way he was treated was a disgrace by some fans and more importantly the board. Every manager since got the bleeding heart crap about the poor squad while he got zero investment, Ross Wilson throwing in a few rejects and knifed in the back. Derek your miles off and the only revisionism is your own.

Doug Young

I think he's had to give up a lot of his forward play in order to cover/babysit Tav.

Robert Atkinson

Good on Andy for calling a spade a spade. Matondo lost his man for the first goal, but could have caught up with him being the fastest player on the park. Instead, he unbelievably slowed down to allow the cross. The boy’s an inveterate loser.

Spoon

Shame and felt for him today as little went right for him today but at least he kept trying, give him that. Issue is he is seems as a young player but he isn’t really so he needs to be kicking on. Dessers will again get the focus of the flak but up front across the line was poor. Little service for the striker and while he had maybe two chances there needs to be more from elsewhere.

Robert Atkinson

Genuinely shocked at his lack of desire. Gave the ball away under no pressure countless times.

Tamus

I long for the halcion days when Dessers scored two goals against Ross County and bought two cunts a haircut and everyone pretended he was Gert Muller And see if Tavernier was my Dug he'd be going to stay with the Farmer tomorrow

Brian Rae

I'm all for giving the manager time but his after match comments/excuses were unacceptable. Bringing up average squad age and about it being a new team even though we still had many from last season playing is a red flag. The problem we have is that no one at the club is owning the many problems we currently have. Like before, we now need to hope they somehow regress in order for us to catch up but that ship might have sailed as they are light years in ahead of us on and off the pitch, more so than they were in 2018. This is going to be an unbearable season.

Simon Botterill

We are simply feeble in all areas of the club, the gutting piece is so many are not reliant on huge capital. Ibrox - it's a shambles beyond the closure. Paint, tidy and take more pride, it's managed poorly. Youth - why are we not playing youth more. Throw them in. Captaincy - In 90% of countries it makes no difference who your captain is but in the hell hole that is Scottish football it's essential you have a big character leader in the middle. We are consistently bullied. Game management - I can only assume that lot have a larger backroom and analytical staff to support this. We don't work on throw ons let alone our ball boys throwing the ball on before it's off....I don't like that lot but they do it all at a completely higher level of professional level. Media - if we think we are going to succeed being us, you are deluding yourself. We need to start behaving appalling in the media, enough of the calm and quiet. It will not work. Any role or business is about understanding your environment. Forgot ability, intensity sets players and clubs apart, we have none.

Simon Botterill

100% correct. Scottish football is a disease, Gio wanted no part of it and I am not sure PC gets it/wants to adapt either.. Unless you are willing to do what is required to succeed (which is not pleasant) then there is no chance. Our approach would be fine in other leagues.

Greg McEwen

Thank you for the pod guys as doing it so soon after the event is no doubt a painful. Good points well articulated throughout A lot has been said on this thread and on pod about the game which i agree with. I sincerely agree with those comments about our overall mentality and where the respective fault lies for issues today between manager, players and board. On a somewhat related point, I think the board will rue having missed the chance to be truthful about their own mentality/expectations this year. For me, the transfer strategy and giving clement a new contract screams we are pursuing part one of a multiyear plan. Given the problems we had before with wages/performance ratio, the trading model and and the abyss which is the academy, part one would involve culling the old expensive squad, sorting out footballing infrastructure, getting use out of academy and building up to selling a Diomande or Yilmaz next summer to add to funds for stage two next year. With coefficient drop, UCL is probably going to be a reach for us and then again next year and they maybe bank on that lot keeping the biscuit tin largely locked so as to the keep the gap bridgeable. I realise the board can’t outright say “we wanted to decimate this wage bill, get younger with a lower floor but higher ceiling of player compared to what we had. That means short term regression but the chance to be better in time. We think clement is the guy to steer us through that process”. The idea of accepting second best would probably end their tenure (if it hasn’t already) But they seem afraid to even try to manage expectations, all the communication is generic if communicated at all. Which will bite them on the arse if results continue to falter and they don’t appear to be recognising the pressure on Clement. Their worst nightmare is us being worse off in league than when Beale left, with fans baying for a sacking that they have no intention of making. If they come out then and say “we always knew it was a write off season” then they look doubly weak and ineffective. If they sack him then they’ve torched their plan out of fear and self preservation Just my two cents worth a few hours after the event; it’s still too raw to comment on the game itself

Ally

There’s no excuse for the lack of organisation and Clement should be getting more out of these players. That said, imagine telling yourself three months ago that we’d be playing Tavernier, Souttar, Balogun, Matondo, Lawrence, McAusland, and Dessers in the first OF of the season.

Simon Botterill

Completely inappropriate captain for Rangers in Scottish football. Would be a very positive captain most other leagues

Spoon

Spot on Billy, chance creation and the rest chipping in with goals is the issue, in numerous derbies the striker gets marked out the game and its down to a midfielder or defender to get the goal. If Dessers is your focus, for me you’re missing the bigger elephant in the room. Igamane wiill be the new hope guy, he’s played 20 minutes and is already in some quarters better than the guy who’s scored 5 goals in 7. Like Propper was going to sort the defence, Raskin was sorting the midfield or Cerny was blowing up the wing. We have lost all perspective on players these days to my mind. Expectation, reality and returns are strangers to each other in how we evaluate guys, we have no stars just a bunch of broken biscuits that have no leadership and questionable coaching. It’s fine not to like Dessers, I fully agree we need a different type of striker if the manger won’t change to suit his play style but he isn’t the main problem today or any day. He misses chances, that appears to be his crime, but show me a striker who doesn’t that still has his return for £4 million.

Andrew Meldrum

He's this team's Boyd. Fine for lesser teams, but doesn't have what it takes against better opposition. We need Danilo or Igomane to step forward.

Paul Robertson

Spot on. Tavernier’s attitude and influence permeates throughout the team. He doesn’t believe we can beat that lot and that has become the norm.

Thomas

My gut just tells me that’s hopeful. We needed a new no9 this summer

Jason Allan

It is time to sell Tavernier I get he’s close to ten years, but for the good of the club, we need a new captain, players taking responsibility in their areas of the pitch. Butland can be dropped as his form has dropped massively.

Barry

This regime (DK & 3 bears) has been a failure from the start. Constant drama (inc. court cases, kit suppliers, building projects & finances), as well as failure to have a strong influence in Scottish football/with authorities and failure on the pitch. They don't have the capital and know-how - will never be the top team in Scotland on and off the park whilst they're running the club. Time for regime change protest!

maccalsa

Yep, remember thinking, we have to score here as they never started in the 1st 10 minutes

Sam Fry

Players looked gassed out after 10 minutes today and after there offside goal the team just looked deflated and we then conceded the first goal we have no structure in formation we looked so stretched from midfield to attack and I would say that’s on clement not giving better instructions 5 games he’s had against them and failed in the same manner every game even with new players and for the so called captain the guy is out his depth and should have been sold in the summer but here we are reaping of a failed summer window the board seriously need get reinvestment Or sell up shop to someone who actually will we deserve better.

maccalsa

Cerny lookes like a poor man's Ryan Kent, and I mean Kent after we officially signed him. We played a high line against a quick forward line with propper and souter having to play on the turn... Not sure that was a good idea..... propper looks slow

Allan Osborne

You know the worst thing about it is I don't get angry about it anymore. I expect this kind of performance every time we play them. We have weak minded players, a manager who refuses to conform to what's in front of him and a board that are frankly a shambles when it comes to the running of the football side of the operation. But I'm beyond anger now, it's total apathy, and that's worse I think. Bleak days ahead I fear, not that there's a change there then.

Allan Osborne

Three seasons Matondo's been here now and I can count on one hand the number of truly effective games he's had. He's another wage thief.

Allan Osborne

Same. The longer he's out the more people forget the number of sitters he missed before his injuries. I don't think he's much better than Dessers tbh.

Graham Espie

Are we arguing for 4-5-1 and sit back then? It would be rage if we sat in and lost 2-0. They have better footballers than us. I’m not blaming the manager, or the players. The duels you’re talking about were always 70-30 because they move the ball faster. Tav shouldn’t have played but we didn’t buy a number 6. The worst thing would be to blame Barron. People shouting for a number ten or a winger missed the point we needed an experienced physical 6 with a brain. We can’t afford one because Hagi and Matondo remain at the club. Soutter is so ready to die to defend the box that he loses the plot time after time. If we knew what was going to happen what would we change? Can we agree that sterling should have been at right back? I also have sympathy for the centre backs, we lost our goals in midfield. Our team was incredibly young today. Remember we only need to beat the rest to stay close. Matondo isn’t exactly old. Clearout needed, clear out happens, we expect to win at Parkhead. Apologies for the loghorrea but I think calm heads should prevail. Any radical changes would result in the same result and calls for starting the best team available (which he did) would abound. Question for you all. Would Buttland and Tavernier be your two top outgoings? I would have sold Buttland not because of his ability just his saleability. I’d take a couple of goalkeeping mistakes to allow us to pay a couple of fees for players. Walter did nothing magic! I remember the outcry about six centre halves and laudrup. They had Brian O’Neil against Laudrup. We now have Soutter against Kyogo. This is the most reactionary post match. Still love the pod but I think this one is a bit knee jerk. Having said all of the above, someone just sticks one on Maeda. Take the booking. He’s clearly not the bravest player. Just to complete my ramble, Arfield starts that game. Thanks for the post match I’m off to continue with apathy rather than anger.

jason hart

Sterling .. I think we're all on the same boat .. we like him he's strong and versatile BUT if we're being honest is he good enough for a midfield role .. get tav out and Sterling at right back Dessers he tries and has scored a few but he's movement is mince .. watch when lawerance was breaking up park he couldn't release it as dessers movement was so bad .. dessers is not suited to a lone striker role .. chalk and cheese with him and Kyogo and that's one of the many differences Let's not even get started on them having about 30 million worth of transfers on the bench As David says if you have a shortfall in talent you must have a good system (think Porto and Jose) we have no system

alisdair arkless

Hard listen but honest one. They don't need to play well against us, they know that they sre better and we will make mistakes that gifts them goals, so simple, big changes needed but I have no idea where we start

Corpse Reviver

Truly don't know where the fuck I'd be without H&H. Genuinely.

ALASDAIR GRIFFITHS

Clement is lost. No ideas. Next one will be the same. Same mistakes.

Martin Sutherland

The manager is as uninspiring as they come, he backs the captain at his current level as well. Hardly a surprise when we get hammered. New manager required, until then we will suffer in every single game with some pressure.

James

Yes, but we still failed to take the chance, regardless of offside or not, that is my point

Graeme Guthrie

Rangers managers who cant beat Celtic dont last long. Irregardless of circumstances, Clement is on thin ice now

Steven L

You ken what everyone is really annoyed at They are just better than us, most have just realised this. Rangers football club are just a run of the mill spfl team that now and then might win something. Tell me I’m wrong……

AGS

Tav in the stand is a good shout. We’re starting again incorporating the old failures: put a right back at right back; maybe Tav can see something higher up? Yes I think he is crap

David Kiltie

The fee we received for Cantwell was very low, but if a player announces he desperately wants out of a club his value plummets market forces in action. In this case a low fee is the necessary trade off to offload a huge wage which was never really justified by performances. Apropos Gerrard not being backed in summer 2021, he had been majorly backed for the last 3 years, so much so that the club was hitting the limits in terms of losses and FFP rules. To reinvest back then we had to make major sales, but Gerrard said no to that. At the time Kent, Morelos, Kamara and Barisic were at peak value. We can now see what a huge opportunity was squandered. The current fiasco has been in the making for the last 3 years. The club needs to get its act together at all levels to start a long and painful journey out of this rut. As Winston Churchill said, “if you are running through hell, keep going.”

David Kiltie

The fear of not finishing second I think is overdone. Hearts had what was considered a good season last terms and only amassed 68 points, 17 points behind us. In the 2 preceding seasons we finished 35 points ahead of the Sheep and 28 point ahead of Hearts.

Simon Botterill

Or what we do about actually highlighting this example. If we are waiting to do it when winning , we will be waiting along time. Pep, Areta, Klopp - all absolutely prats/moaners but always up for trying to control the narrative week in week out. We are now the victims

Scott Stewart

mind the souness night back in February clement butland key speaker’s . At that night I thought souness and the fans were getting carried away! I Never truly believed we would win title. The sad point and fact is it’s Clements team now and we appear way worse. I understand it will take time but they have way more quality than we do.

Scott Stewart

For me Tavs the least of our worries. Although he,s done, and no where near the level he was four years ago , it’s Very easy to blame the captain. Jefte had a torrid time . Sterling is never a midfielder! Call it how it is… what about dessers two pass back. ( shots ) what about Mccausland misses , what about clement thinking Diomande better than Cantwell. What about the other 10 players other than tav today . Butland had howlers dating back to 3 each game at ibrox when he should have saved at least one of the three goals. Then cup final. And then again today. Dessers constant sitters , Montondo wanted off after five minutes. Dear deary me. What a mess. From top to bottom. From Board room to ball boy. Genuinely think it’s worse than the relegation years. Appalling not a single rangers man in There. Alex Rae had more desire and commitment from the dug out.

Scott Stewart

It’s the manager who picks the team ,, tactics and captain , the players job is to perform and carry the instructions out . neither the manager nor the players are at the level required , we’ve went back on Beales team and that’s a big regression , considering we sacked him . I also include butland in that. , he’s Had three howling games against them ! Shockers

maccalsa

Nah Dessers movement is good, but everything else is up for grabs, he's not a confident guy, and in professional striker terms that means your not the guy He is a decent squad player, bit not the man

maccalsa

Obviously not, and you are right sir. If we sit in we lose? We have to come out, can you imagine the shit we would have if we sit in and hope for the best no chances and still lose? No idea what happens next, in the back of my head I feel we are done, I don't want that to be true? And I'm drunk now, but the gap is so vast, we are.so far behind what can be done?

Tamus

I'm genuinely not seeing anything in the boy diomande, I don't get the hype at all

Graeme Duncan

Thanks guys, appreciate your thoughts on that performance. Only surprise was they didn’t win by more.

John Palmer

The fact that this current Board has allowed Rangers to fall so far behind Them across the City is nothing short of disgraecful. Rangers won 55, consistently competing in the latter stages of the Europa League, got to a European Final, won 2 Domestic Cups. All of this Means Sweet FA if they're not intending to back the Managers in charge and give them what they need to get back to dominating Scottish Football or at the very least Competing. It's unforgivable that this current Board has allowed Them across the City to clean and mop up all our good work with the Co-efficient and Automatically Qualifying for the Champions League 3 yrs on the Trott. Not only would that have brought its own Financial boost but it may have spark interest from new Investors. The Whole Club is a Complete and utter shambles.

adam houston

This is on the board and am done with the team for this season fuck them

Gordon Watson

That was totally gutless by Matondo. I hope that’s his last game in a Rangers jersey. He doesn’t have the brains or the work ethic to succeed at the club - if he doesn’t get it after three years, he never will.

Scott Stewart

I,ll make a prediction! Season ticket fire sales end of season and del mcciness as new manager. At least del knows how to get a tune out of average players. The reason he knocked back rangers was based on advice from the magnificent Walter smith. Sharlentons were running us at the time. Well shysters of a different type !!

Scott Stewart

I agree on our front three but the issues are a lot bigger than that. No quality in midfield and defence is weak !

Mark Hunter

I like the idea of having players who are physically strong willing to put themselves about. However we need to admit we’re ref’d differently in these games which effectively neuters any idea of pressing them physically

David Tod

Nobody in the organisation appears to have any talent for their job.Board, recruitment or players. I was prepared to cut the manager some slack until he started pishing down my back and telling me it was raining. Everything is now a problem with no obvious solution. Beating us doesn’t even make their fans happy any more. They just see it as a given.

Campbell Maclennan

Why is Dessers playing 90mins with Danilo on the bench. Danilo at least has a touch. We need to see if he can cause them problems. Just one of many many concerns today. Embarrassing stuff from the players. Pathetic to a man...

Paul fitzpatrick

I get Andy's point about physicality but CB's apart they're not blessed with big guys but they were far more tenacious than us, didn't help of course that Beaton stopped the game anytime we went near them and let them come through the back of our players with no consequences.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Am livid Colin I see nothing in us Our standards as a fan base are at an all time low We look at Barron and Diamande as the next gen hopes Both bog standard . 20yr ago they would be squad players now our full hope on 2 no bad players Propper , the Dutch Davies Tav should have been away 2 seasons ago Another big game v them our striker does fuck all isolated with no help McCausland should be at hamilton accies our great hope This will get worse before it gets better it’s laughable Europa league with that group 😂😂

Hendi

We can't really complain about a lack of organisation and players not working together and then simultaneously call for the manager to throw in new players as soon as they sign and for maverick formations.

jamey Carruthers

Lads we’re about to make another disaster appointment at CEO. We don’t have a coherent plan.

Scott Stewart

Jack butland …. He reserves his worst performances for Celtic ! Dating back to the mat orielly goal at parkhead last year. Two of the 3 goals lost at ibrox were also saveable and straight at him , he had a howler in the cup final. A howler yesterday for the second goal and possibly should have saved the first! These games make and break rangers players and dessers is also the same. He’s on thin ice, for me and I’ve said this for week. Dessers is the level entry back up striker. Not your main no9!

Graeme Glennie

We all know who chucked it if we are being honest. And now we are seeing the reaction from supporters turning on the players. It might be a poor way of showing your frustration but absolutely no-one can be surprised that it has come to this.

Ryan Stewart

You know what’s the worst thing for me. I sat and watched that game yesterday and felt absolutely no emotion throughout it. I didn’t get excited when Dessers got his chance early on, i didn’t get angry when he inevitably fluffed his lines. I sat and watched every Celtic goal go in and I barely even flinched. It’s apathy and has been for some time. We are so far behind them in every department on and off the pitch is untrue. It starts from the top, its maybe just me but until that changes I’ve very little interest in hearing about needing ANOTHER manager or MORE players

Derek Stevenson

We cannot get the balance right with our press. When the front three or four press it seems our whole team step up with it. With Maeda & Kyogo it’s a disaster waiting to happen knowing that their midfield can pass forward with accuracy unlike ours.

Matthew Macgillivray

I love Andy. I hate him because he's a Thatcherite but I love his thoughts and levelness, my best pal is like him, a true blue Tory but in matters of soccer he never misses. They both embody the mantra WATP. We hold ourselves to big standards, Gerrard got it.

Paul Coulter

David ur point about us as amateurs who knew how the game would go was spot on. I wish I had have put a tenner on the score I thought it would be.....

JimGLW

Absolutely spot on guys.

Thomas scroggie

The players are going into these games with the same feelings we have at the moment going into them defeated and it’s on the board and the players and the manger I’m afraid the manger has had 5 old firms and he hasn’t learned anything

Spoon

Nah not for me, sold out, lack of support, dealing with a gang of players who we are still feeling the impact of to this day. If he had been given half the investment of Beale or even what Clement has had and a chance to change the team we might not be stuck in Groundhog Day now. Board and Beale stabbed him in the back and let him take the flak. SPFL records Gio P35 W24 D7 L4 PPM 2,26 Phil P28 W21 D4 L3 PPM 2.39 About the same so hardly a shit show as portrayed, but certainly a significantly poorer level of support from board. You are absolutely entitled to an opinion and I’m sure many will agree with you but we are desperate to lash out at individuals these days as the issue when it’s far more nuanced. Scapegoating doesnt address the root issue and when you dont address the issues they can’t be fixed, thats why we are where we are.

CJT

They go onto the pitch absolutely knowing they are going to win and really up for doing that in a convincing manner. We go on fearing they’ll do exactly that. Psychological trauma of previous pumpingd haunting the whole club. Really pervasive now. Minimum acceptable is getting in their face and matching them physically. If their better players ‘dae sumhing’, well we all know their players are better than ours. By that measure this was an utter failure. Andy is right about youth but we need to be honest, we don’t accept the mistakes that come with development of talent. Difficult to see change tbh. Mcinness. Deary me. Just shows how far we’ve slipped. He’s the very definition of a jobber. Got too many of them already.

jason hart

Aberdeen 17 wins from last 22 games. Rangers 9 wins from last 22 games. Just let that sink in.

Nikky Cairney

Agreed with a lot of what’s said. David is spot on and the tweet put out yesterday is spot on. We all agree there are issues at board level and with players. But the manager is a massive issue for me. Close to being the main issue. His 4232 set up no matter who we play doesn’t work and especially away at parkhead. He doesn’t learn. Every time he speaks I genuinely despise him more. He’s thinks we are stupid given his press conference and interviews after the game. Looking forward to hearing David’s views on them on tonight’s show. Everyone watch the game to see the gulf and for him to try and tell us it was a close game because we had the same shots and similar possession is a disgrace. I don’t want to be a club who sacks managers every year I really don’t. But that also doesn’t mean we keep going with a manager when we can all see he’s not going to be the guy. He’s had 5 games against them and all have been the exact same tactics and have never worked. But he keeps doing the same things just with some different players. I made a comment after the Birmingham game to my mate. I said our football and set up is so bad that if Derek McInnes was to become our manager he’d instantly make us harder to play through and the football would probably be of a similar entertainment level. Now I don’t want McInnes far from it, I’m just saying that’s the level Clement is for me. Players effort yesterday at times was terrible and I really don’t think they believe in Clement anymore. Diomande is an example id use. A number 8 who get used as a number 6 or a number 10 in a dog shit 4231. Put him in Celtics midfield yesterday in there shape and he looks a 15 million pound midfielder straight away. We need changes all over the club but the manager will never be the guy we need. It’s again a matter of when and not if he goes.

Nikky Cairney

I agree about McInnes but he would set us up better than Clement. That’s how bad Clement is.

Nikky Cairney

Spot on mate. A midfield of McGregor, Bernardo and Hatate. No physical strength at all. The bully us with energy and organisation.

Daniel Ward

The morning before an Old firm game I’m usually bouncing excited, having a bevvy, not being able to sit still riddled with nerves either at the game or on tv. Yesterday I had none of that we knew what was going to happen, we all knew. But If this team was a team of 22 year olds it would’ve killed still but you could go they will learn and they can grow into being good players but butland tav souttar raskin balogun Lawrence matondo dessers wont improve, this is them this is there capabilities, keeping them ensured we won’t improve.

Defo butland tav. Two outgoing and motondo ! I think we’ve missed the boat with butland and we won’t be the big transfer fee now.
