Another good debate guys i enjoyed the pod, let's hope things improve on the pitch small positive points starting to show imo, sort out the hierarchy and let's move forward 👍

John Smith

Brilliant as always guys. Just a bit of consistency. I think that’s all we’re asking from the team right now. I don’t get the aversion to free agents from this board but it’s just one of many things I think they’re doing wrong.

John Smith

Dave King has been forced in to this in my opinion by a board who are taking us along a very dangerous path

Russ

Great discourse lads. If we're letting Lawrence go at the end of the season is Lyall Cameron on a Bosman the sensible thing to do? I'd like to think we're targeting him, he's versatile young and a decent talent.

Russ

Also Kev you are very softly spoken mate. You could do ASMR. Slaughtering Ridvan in hushed tones 😉

David Kiltie

Great pod, guys. You discussed the frustration of last Sunday at being unable to kill the game. Andy McGowan and the overlord were discussing recently how much of an advantage being able to kill teams off and play the last half hour of games in 2nd or 3rd gear, in terms of conserving energy and avoiding injury. The filth have been very good at this, though we hate to admit it. Also last season and 3 seasons back, their better goal difference was as good as an extra point late in the season. I know just after an Old Firm drubbing was not a great time to mention a 6-0 win over Ross County, but emphatic wins over the “jobbers” is something we haven’t achieved too often since the 55 season. Iain mentioned how Celtic under Postecoglou would go full throttle from kick off but then run out of steam after 60 or 70 minutes. That was fine against markedly inferior opponents since they would usually be 3 or 4 goals up by them. As Martyn pointed out on Seagulls, against EPL teams it is a different story. We were blown away twice by the Angeball approach under Gio. The Scottish Cup semi was the time we managed to weather the storm and the team’s incredible fitness levels at the time saw us through. All of your predicted team selections were conservative - we are not in a position to rest players against Premiership opponents. Last week’s win, the return to Ibrox and the improved sponsorship deal all give some positivity around the club - we can’t afford to jeopardize that with a bad result tomorrow.

Ah my favourite preview line up

Bixby Snyder

I’m not sure if the filth have done this successfully. 9 of the starting 11 against us were all Big Ange’s players which would suggest Brenda hasn’t done much development. Much of who he signed have gone or are languishing. Maybe he’ll have better luck with who he signed in the summer but I think he’s overrated and hoping the recycling of Ange’s team will bring them pain.

Bixby Snyder

Thanks guys. Favorite pod on the network so I think Edgar needs to dip into the budget to get your volumes in line. Been extreme differences in volume sound ranges over the last few pods.

David Smith

Is there any other club in world football that would keep a player like James tavernier ?? Until this person leaves its absolute insanity we keep this madness going season after season 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Tolmie

Thee dessers comments are pure guff, the goal is dessers link up player, the Cortes chance is dessers link up play, the Lawrence chance in 2nd half comes from dessers link up play, it’s like none of this actually happened

David Kiltie

Me too , Bixby. I am hoping that the Postecoglou team will approach the end of its lifecycle soon.

Scott Watson

In every game we've scored this season, Dessers has scored or assisted the first goal There are clearly limitations to his game but it seems to me he gets way more scrutiny relative to performance than the rest of the squad I take Stevie's point that he's not the style of player to get you up the pitch and relieve pressure - but again I think that's blaming him for the rest of the team's failings. Sharkhead aside, we shouldn't be in a position where we are in need of that domestically

Steven Harrigan

All they passages are first time layoffs, but I was speaking about hold up play, something that is so vital in matches. IE Parkhead to get us up the pitch. We played a CB up top in a CL QF because of this shortfall.

Bob MacCallum

We'll win nothing if Dessers starts every game. We all said we needed a striker in Jan or forget title. Surprise, surprise! Ditto this season. We now have Igamane. If the manager won't give him game time ahead of Dessers, he deserves the inevitable sack. Everyone around me, in the SJ rear, like me, treats Dessers as a joke, a dud. Cannot fathom how a few fans stick up for him in spite of his lack of ability and physical strength.

JimGLW

Good listen lads. The start was good last week and then turgid. Hopefully a solid performance today. Would be great to see Iganame instead of Dessers.

JimGLW

Dessers was muck again. He is so far short of what is needed

Angus Mackay

Great show, lads. Long live realism, sanity and optimism.

Spoon

Steven doesn’t that tie into Scott’s point, your blaming a poacher for not being a back to goal striker, we didn’t buy him for that. For me it’s down to tbe Manager to realise what he can bring and stop asking him to do what he can’t. He’s the one guy bar Tav that’s always available and more or less a nailed on starter carrying tons of weight, your point is valid but some are just desperate to ignore what he does do and slate him for what he doesn’t. Far too many romanticise Morelos as some kind of uber striker, he wasn’t. He had a few decent seasons and many many bad games where he didn’t score or contribute. More than any other position the striker relies on others to give him the platform. We have been slating our midfield and attacking options for almost two years but it seems for many it’s all on Dessers, you only have to look at the comments and rhetoric that’s become accepted fact around him. Serious question, how many games does Big Ig get to go without scoring before folk turn on him, how many months unavailable does Danilo get before folk realise he’s not the messiah ? We are obsessed with doing our players down publicly or setting them up to fail on the park then get shocked when they recoup bigger all in transfers. None of our players are at peak, some are limited, some are developing, some are just on the down slope of age but of them all Dessers who does actually turn up and contribute gets the lions share of the flak, a bit like Tav. Very unfair on a guy doing a very decent job for us, he isn’t perfect but he’s miles off the duffer that’s made out.
