John Smith

Dave King has more balls than the majority of that board. That’s who I want as our leader. These feckless imbeciles at the wheel may have helped us in the past, but they are taking our club down a very dark road and I think the supporters are sick and tired of being gaslit.

James McSween

Can’t believe Clement said “ running about like Zombies” that’s just going to get clipped by the crash barriers 🙄

John Smith

James that’s the first thing I thought of when he said that 🤦‍♂️

Billy McCormack

Once again we're getting into the drama and circus that is Rangers, we should be talking about what's happening on the field but instead our laundry is being exposed to world to see and making us look like a laughing stock again.

John Smith

Billy public pressure and the exposure of this boards dirty laundry is the only option left. They have no interest in doing anything unless under pressure

Rona Bluebell

That is some vicious kick from King as Gerrard leaving is still a sore point and is bound to get a reaction. I’m conflicted on whether he’s telling the truth and having our best interests at heart. Jeezo.

Tamus

Dear Dave King Remember when we won 55 and you fucked off Remember you've been trying to sell your shares ever since

Colin Mathie

If its true that he said this then that's quite a kick in the nuts to Clement et al from King.

John Fowler

I wouldn't blame Clement for that, he won't know or care about that, only the unwashed keep that going.

John Smith

Truth hurts Rona. And I totally believe what he says. This board have totally regressed our club backwards and I have had it with them.

John Smith

Still don’t know the exact circumstances Tamus. Still trust him over them that’s for sure

Bill’s truth

Completely agree with your comments about Dave King, Cammy, I also think he has completely undermined John Gilligan, and made things harder for John, as he tries to stabilise things.

James McSween

You’d think the communications guy would give him a list of words not to use. Clement might not care but it’s us fans that get ridiculed with these slip ups

John Smith

Colin this to me seems like King has been messed around in private conversations and he’s had enough and decided to tell the supporters exactly what’s going on

John Smith

I wouldn’t say he’s undermined Gilligan Bill, I’d say he’s calling out the charlatans

Russ

If we've got a list of words to refrain from using that includes the likes of 'zombie' then the clubs a paranoid wreck. Christ above.

John Hood

Oh and while your here Dave, thanks for Pedro the Hedge and the money you gave him to sign mostly a lot of shite. What a narcissist!

Rona Bluebell

John, that’s harsh. You can express disappointment without being so personal about people.

Scott Hamilton

The board room stuff and current quote spree from King is fcking exhausting

John Smith

I agree Rona and I don’t want situations like this around the club but for me personally there have been several breaking points now already and I just don’t think we can allow our club to be led along this merry path in to nightmare land. It’s actually a credit to us as supporters that we’ve been as patient as we have so far

John Smith

The difference then was we were still rebuilding. A lot different to have reached the top and then start to unravel.

KMc

Dave King seems to have turned into some sort of boogeyman overnight, or have I missed something? Fan media seem to have been quite quick to pour water on his return, no?

KMc

It’s easy to pick out the failures and mistakes along the way, but the growth of the club from when he took over with the three bears to him leaving was astronomical considering what they inherited.

Martin Boyd

Charlatans who have poured millions of their own money into the club , aye right. King wants his shares sold he doesn’t give a flying one who he sells them to. As for his Gerrard comment he is guessing he wasn’t on the board , Aston Villa showed their knickers and off he went with a petted lip as he wasn’t allowed to spend money we didn’t have as he wouldn’t sell his boys.

Mark Boyd

I do find it interesting the distrust for king when he was the guy who ultimately brought us back to the top. And the things he have said re current board to my mind appear true. So why so much resistance to protect a board we all agree aren’t doing the required job 🤷🏻‍♂️

Martin Boyd

Found Dave Kings login for Heart and Hand 😂.

John leitch

Stevie G leaving was a mixture of circumstances He wasn’t happy with the backing and the offer from Villa came in Our funding had been front loaded for the previous season and we should have sold after winning the league and refreshed We have gone backwards since

John Smith

Martin I believe these guys started out with noble intentions and yes they have certainly helped the club. But for me in recent years they’ve turned it in to a closed shop with only certain people allowed in. On Gerrard I don’t think any of us can say what happened. My gut tells me he was promised things that didn’t get delivered

KMS

See if you stand in front of a mirror and say Dave King three times does he suddenly appear and take over yer house? He is becoming an absolute parody, do this shit within the club we don't need more drama, or negativity in the public domain, we're already being laughed at for the endless calamities the John Bennett era oversaw, let's stop giving these wankers the ammo they love ffs

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks Cammy, the fans ultimately should have the input into all the alternatives, thing's aren't working imo there needs to be change 🤷‍♂️

Gordon Mac

Decent music on a Friday at last 👌

Charles Manuel

Every time a former chairman tells the world how poor any organisation is, that organisation loses value! How keen would any headhunted CEO be to join a ‘failing’ business?

James McSween

If the manager is learning about our history and the OF game. He would be aware they call us zombies after 2012 Just the same way that that mob don’t mention Old Firm anymore.

John Smith

With the greatest respect Charles, I’m merely pointing out the fact that regardless who comes in, with the current regime in charge the club won’t be going anywhere

David Anderson

I think it goes two ways. King speaks when we're vulnerable to try get the fans on his side. But at the same time the current board have opened up these vulnerabilities themselves.

John Smith

David I speak when I feel the club is going in the wrong direction. The right thing to do is call an EGM and let the shareholders decide the way forward. I am more than willing to come back and do the job that is badly needed.

Russ

John mate is changing yer avi a good idea? You get all sorts of reprobates running stories these days. Thinking of you and the pod like.

Andy McGowan

Well he's missed out the bit where he part sanctioned massive player costs and creating £25m of player liabilities due, at a time when he was recorded in the accounts as funding the projected shortfall and ensuring going concern status, and then upped and walked away from all that completely (if you don't count hijacking Club1872 as his share disposal mechanism) and leaving the guys he's now criticising to pick up the tab.

Heart and Hand

With the exception of Dingwall on FF who is fairly anti-King, I can’t say I’ve seen any fan media be negative about him. Also, the blanket term ‘fan media’ itself is misleading as it indicates one thing when the reality is dozens of individuals. There’s no conspiracy lads.

LD

I say this only partly in jest, why would anyone let the fans decide (even the "fan" shareholders). It's not without reason that the well known trop is, strand six Rangers fans on a desert island and within a week you'll have seven supporters clubs.

Heart and Hand

I think it’s that modern thing of ‘people don’t think what I think - it can’t be they just disagree with me, it must be something insidious’. And, again, I haven’t seen (again bar Dingwall) anybody slaughtering DK.

Shaun Watson

I find it strange that all podders/fan media are so against Dave King yet the vast majority of fans across social media are backing him.

Craig Fryatt

What a pleasant surprise to hear Cammy

Heart and Hand

I don't think that's true. I've seen as many people not backing him as backing him, and certainly in terms of messages I get here at H&H. Confirmation bias. But even a look at the comments on this thread will show that the idea it's universal is not true. So you're starting from a false premise there IMO and then basing a point off it. What you mean is 'I back DK and I can't understand why others don't'.

Heart and Hand

Also lads - could it be simply that some people just don't agree with you? If you're all in on DK great, but others aren't. That's not confusing, it's just a difference of opinion. Talk them round.

Tom

Another banger of a tune, I thought Colin had pulled it out the bag until I heard the dulcet tones of Cammy, King is a right chatty Cathy isn't he? Don't think this is helpful.

Andy MacArthur

I don’t doubt Dave King loves the club, and I will be forever grateful for how he rescued us from charlatans. However Dave King has only one intention and that is to get his shares sold. Let’s not forget every statement and move he has made since he left as chairman. He hasn’t suddenly had a change of heart. If he wants to put the club first he should stop stirring up the press and let Rangers find some fresh leadership.

Gordon Bannerman

In 1986 I went to my first Rangers game with my best pal, Eddie Macdonald. He’s the reason I support the famous, I’ve lost touch with him for 30 years, is it the same guy? 🤯

Shaun Watson

I am very well aware that people will have different opinions from me but like I said from what I saw from fans, most were on board with king and then Iv still not seen 1 member of fan media come out and back him. That is what I found strange.

Fraser86

Dave king inspires 🙌 The blazer and tie board I've been saying that for years, they need to front up or move on, you can have your balanced view and reason for caution all you like, we are 2 defeats away from a crisis. We are so fragile and this squad doesn't inspire belief. This board would struggle to run a pub, we need this fresh full heartedness

Fraser86

Also when we lose a couple games the fans will protest l ans it will be the board that get it

Heart and Hand

Well, if people haven’t backed him it’s because they don’t back him. Nothing strange, just a difference of opinion as you said. Personally, given there’s no chance of him returning as Chairman and he’s too clever not to know that, I don’t think that is his intention anyway. It’s also not a binary choice. I don’t think the current board or King are the men to lead us forward. I want a new Chairman, CEO and I want them allowed to run the club without constant interference.

Paul Kerr

I thought the DU coverage earlier this week was unbiased, in agreement with King on lots of points and proven correct as to why it wouldn't happen. I think we all agree with much of what King is saying, but isn't that the point some are trying to make, that he plays to the gallery when it suits him? I'm on the fence. He made his share of mistakes, but he did do a lot of things right. Personally I think people want to hear he's in for the long term, even if thats taking a back seat after 2 years.

The present board , don’t have a strategy to develop financial growth , that will enhance the team winning the league. The other mob are not static , they will be developing their stranglehold of the league. Pragmatic board silence , indicating that the support need recognise , barren years is the tough medicine to be prescribed , to witness player trading roll out , will not appease most fans. I recall a pod from Andy , regarding Bisgrove being influenced to the big European clubs strategic business vision. Diminishing the social relationship of a supporter with their club, replacing it with customer and entertainment service . You don’t like , what you pay for , don’t buy a seat, leave it for someone else , who appreciates what’s on offer. The term being , the football clubs/ company will manage their businesses , as they see fit , answerable to no supporters . It would seem , this culture has been embedded into the mission statement of the present board , they might not even be aware , of their distancing from supporters . John Gilligan has a very challenging role , to complete, Where are we getting the money to challenge Celtic , under the present funding arrangement’s? We all assume , things can change quickly in this league . Money has always made football talk . Even in Scotland .

Heart and Hand

Like I say, if you’re convinced something is a good idea and other people aren’t, sometimes it’s difficult to understand why. But again, just a look at the comments on here this week would show that there isn’t a universal view of King one way or the other. And all the viewpoints I’ve read have been valid. It’s fine to disagree.

stefan strzelecki

Would a new chairman and CEO not be stifled within their roles , working under the constraints of a board , who don’t have the substantive financial investment, to action their recommendations? The cheques still need to be signed off , by the g-men . These new corporate leaders , will still be accountable to The present board .

Brian Rae

Dave King is saying what most of the fanbase has been saying for months. Nothing he's said about the state of the club is untrue. This likely needs to get worse before it gets better and I think it's clear, whatever happens, this board can't carry on in it's current form. They have reduced the club to a shadow of it's former stature in less than 3 years and their silence is as usual, deafening. King's description of them as "asleep at the wheel" is accurate and we just have to look at their failure to back the manager properly in January. This cost us the title and is nothing short of gross negligence. The "We've no money" excuse is frankly a disgrace and using FFP as a reason is simply showing the contempt they have towards the fanbase. (FFP is over a 3 year period and any short fall could be made up during this time) It has has cost the club well over 40m and pushed us further behind them. I think they've all gotten off very lightly so far and they deserve every bit of criticism that's coming their way. To be clear, it looks like their current plan is to hope that our manager drastically overachieves, every transfer to be a success that brings in multiple millions and for our rivals to regress. I'll not be holding my breath. There's been no succession plan for any exec role or head of department and a minor stadium upgrade locked 52000 out of Ibrox for months. No boardroom in any other line of business gets away with that. Like King said, asleep at the wheel.

Heart and Hand

Yes and that's something that has to end - the constant interference. Sign the cheques, leave them to run it, oversee the results, take action if neccessary. Not have day-to-day things run past them.

Scott Watson

Hard to argue with this I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt that things have got worse than he expected and he genuinely thinks he is best placed to step back in to help - but sounding off in the media rather than privately trying to build bridges isn't how you go about it if your motives are entirely altruistic

KMc

I tend to agree with yourself more often than not and enjoy the diverse variety of opinions on here but just felt there was a bit of a narrative at play, that’s all. Occam’s razor, is it David?

Heart and Hand

Always is. You can check with any podder past or present as to whether I tell them what to say or you’re welcone to do a show yourself and you can find out - I am very much a hands-off guy! Also you’ll find there are a few who are far more anti-King than me, I’d say I’m an agnostic on it - not convinced but not closed-minded to it. And again, just look around the comments - it’s hardly an uncommon view.

Tommy

Cammy your musical selection is spot on 100% of the time 👏🏼

Tommy

I think everyone is agreed it’s a shitshow and change is needed It’s definitely not consistent that the majority of fans are supporting him King has his motivations. We need to not be swayed by emotion. Ultimately he wants out and wants to sell, this hasn’t changed. King is here purely for the upheaval. And as per the last 4 years, he’ll keep throwing stones. Unsure what he’s doing is helpful right now

Tommy

Dave King asking the board to put aside self interest 😂 The BS about directors not voting, whilst he props up Club 1872 like a puppet for his own benefits.

Alastair McGeoch

The King stuff is interesting. Can’t help feel the board have brought it on themselves. No director of football, no CEO and now a temporary chairman. Key positions through the spine of the football club vacant a culmination of three seasons of piss poor leadership. We are rudderless. Sounds like King sees it as an opportunity to get back in, appoint his people and position the club for him to sell his shares. Would mean driving a short terms results/success to drive the value of the club up but where would it leave us medium to long term? Honestly, I don’t know how I feel about it either way.

KennyY

How the mighty have fallen where diddy teams like Dundee or Dundee Utd provide us with a challenge. These should be bread and butter games. In our league only Celtic should provide any form of challenge.

Eddie Mcdonald

Thanks for the shoutout nice birthday surprise loved it thanks again

John Smith

For clarity David, I am not Dave King. Nor am I Kevin Muscat or Robbie Nielson
