Surely not David choice of intro. Of course it's not.

Latimer

The left side of the team looks improved can't say the same about the right side unfortunately

Tolmie

Manager thinks tav was good, dearie me.

The interview with John Gilligan didn’t inspire much confidence. I’m sure he is a very nice guy but we don’t need someone just to keep the seat warm. We need someone who accepts the state we are in and has the ambition and drive to fix it. That isn’t John based on that video released by the club and who invites some of these idiots such as English to ask idiotic questions

Gordon Woods

Uninspiring press conference… dodged the question what the plan was for the board just confirmed there was a plan. Then proceeded to say a lot of great things have happened ( a lot is a stretch what 3 good things in 4 years) Dave King is not the answer either.

Barry

John is not the best communicator. It can't be easy though trying to put a positive spin on a board/regime that is failing. They seem to not want to relinquish any control, even though it's not working and they are harming the club. Support will need to either wait and see if a new chairman and CEO changes things, or protest/starve them into changing tack!

Stephen

Surely he is just keeping the seat warm until the new chairman is announce? Are we expecting him to announce a plan to revolutionise the club then scrap it in 6 weeks when the new chairman comes in? His appointment is entirely just to steady the ship in the short term.

Colin Mathie

We've only got 2 strikers and he refuses to give 1 of them a run in the team.

AndyK70

Personally I thought John came across well. Felt he was addressing the supporters with honesty and swatting away some stupid and tricky questions about Dave King. Good luck in the next few months John

@bluebeans

The man seems like a very decent bloke that deserves respect but I’ve taken little reassurance from that interview. Struck me as ‘what’s the problem’ ….moving quickly on the CEO, really ? - I do understand there is a need to look forward at times but to borrow a sentiment mentioned on here …..don’t try and convince us we aren’t seeing what we clearly are.

Peter Hosie

Coming out saying we’re chasing them was really poor regardless of the current situation and just shows how detached some of them are especially on a PR front. Let’s also be honest here this team have only really turned up against Ross County and Dundee and if we take a big fall again on Thursday then Phil will rightly get it especially if our captain is at fault. I do hope we turn up on Thursday I really do otherwise it will be rinse and repeat.

Heart and Hand

I’m not sure what else he could say - if he’d said we’re neck-and-neck I’d have thought he was deluded. He told the truth, as unpalatable as it is.

Martin Sutherland

The presser made me more concerned about the state we are in. This board are a closed club who seem completely unaware of the shit show they are operating. The manager must talk a good game behind the scenes, hopefully we see some proof of how “impressive” he is one day.

GaryTCRSC

If Ian Rutherford reads these comments, have your pal Philberto (sp?) contact me via X/Twitter at @GaryTCRSC and I will point him in the direction of the closest Rangers supporters club in T.O.

Max Todd

Agree… it gives them the chance to parody Struth’s “we welcome the chase”. Not the best choice of words.

Stace1ofthePeople

Off topic but any idea when and if hospitality tickets are available for Sunday v hibs?

HammerHead

Love hearing stories of people from far away countries taking are great club to heart WATP.

Brian Rae

"The board don't wish to change anything". Those words should stoke fear into every supporter. We are a rudderless mess with an incompetent, unimaginative and unmotivated board. This press conference should've provided supporters with reassurance, instead it gave no plan of action or direction apart from carry on in the same manner. I would be very interested in what John Gilligan really thinks of the last 3 years. It really is unacceptable.

Peter Hosie

We all know we are behind them and have been for a while but you don’t need to sit at a presser and splurt it out especially from our new ‘leader’. As a media based outlet you must know there’s no defending that and better words should have been chosen.

Heart and Hand

No, I’m not one who likes to be patronised Peter. A blind man can see the gap and we won’t close it by pretending it doesn’t exist. One of the things I regularly complain about is the club doesn’t treat supporters like adults. We’re grownups, we can handle the truth. If he’d said ‘oh we’re on a par with them now’ I’d have questioned his sanity.

Heart and Hand

The club shies away from telling supporters things it thinks we don’t want to hear. I find that patronising and an insult to my intelligence. I am an adult, I can deal with hearing things I don’t like if it’s the truth. We are miles behind them. That is the harsh cold reality. Now, let’s get the gap closed and overtake them.
