I can’t believe there are people who think Diomande is poor. Mind you, some of our fans can’t see the good in any of our players at the moment. Diomande is at his best in Europe I feel, keeping possession of the ball.

John Smith

Dio & Raskin both still have time to become diamonds

James

Lesson learnt - don’t comment on the tube then try and delete the posts 😉

Kenny Morrison

What the fk is Alex Rae doing in all the nonsense does he have any input in the Scottish game ie advice ??.

Jim Milne

James that's the problem. Most of our players I'd not all look better in Europe. Then look poor or mediocre with the exception of a few each week which seems just enough to get by. If Diomande and others can learn to breakdown low block scottish defences than you'll have me agreeing with you.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks guys another great pod 👍 big test coming up

Jim Milne

Great listen fellas, still feeling apathetic. Not as much as after Killie. After 3 points in Europe and the league I am hoping we turn the corner against Aberdeen. For years we've put terrible displays in on a Sunday after Europa. Hope this was one of those tired slogs we just needed 3 points from. This was definitely the warm hug of a pod I needed before Wednesday. If we play like we did against Malmo we can easily beat them. It's just which Rangers will show up.

Jim Milne

Think Rae is just one of many that give Clement advise. However I think Clement has a more laid back European just as interested in stats as the scoreline personality. Not sure he can change with words from Rae.

Heart and Hand

I think he has ability but I think he’d benefit from a more specific role. Right now he’s trying to do a lot. Sometimes simplifying the game helps.

David Kiltie

Counterintuitively we might put in a better display at Pittodrie than in recent domestic games. The Sheep being at home and joint top of the league, are likely to be on the front foot. For us it will more like a European tie with more space rather than the games we had and Kilmarnock and St Mirren. It’s certainly vital that we find a performance on Wednesday.

Matt Halsall

I think Tav deserves credit for calming the defence too

David Innes

That’s what I’m clinging on to. That and the law of averages dictates they’re going to lose a game at some point

Jack Hutchinson

At first I thought Alan meant it as a threat when he said about asking the players if they wanted to “stay here for years”

Mark Boyd

Re the use of the ball from the back, that is where we missed souttar too, stepping in to middle of the pitch and ability to pass through the middle

JimGLW

Good stuff guys. Wednesday is coming at a perfect time for us. We either stand up and deal with it. Or don't and find more excuses.

Billy Brotherston

Good pod. Hope I’m wrong but regarding not seeing this as a great opportunity to get some confidence back, the players don’t worry me as much as the manager does with that. In every press conference he mentions that there’s still a lot of games to go & I can see him saying a draws not a disaster but at some point you need a result that marks a major turning point in your season & we’re definitely in a place where we need just that, Clement even more so. Alans right, a win up there tomorrow would send the team & support into the semi final & the next run of favourable games on a high. It’s a huge game & the most important of Clement’s Rangers career so far, for his (& ours) sake I hope he realises that.

Brett

Think Diomande is better in a 3 man midfield and not a 2. And I don’t think it matters if you play him as a 6, 8 or 10 if the overall team structure is not great and instructions given to the players and team are not great. Which I think is the main issue

Martin Sutherland

Tav and Dessers turn up after being dropped. If anything sums those two up that does. Igamane isn’t going to develop getting hooked anytime he doesn’t perform. We need to come up with a solution to get him game time or he’ll be another disastrous signing.

Vanb bryceter

The sheep will boot fuck out of us with impunity It'll be nothing like a European game FFS. We will have to be something I haven't seen much of and that's resilient as well as aggressive ourselves. Their centre half loves a battle so unless Dessers becomes something we haven't seen yet I fear we'll be on the back foot for long periods.itotally agree with you guys tho win and the mood changes significantly

James McSween

It’s actually embarrassing that we are at this stage already, hoping players turn up and hoping Dessers takes his chances. Every away game for as long as I can remember is a battle for 1st 20 mins then we play our game. Team and management should know this. We should be going up there sleeves rolled up and chest puffed out and dominating them. We need to recruit players based on physicality and mindset as we’ve far to many lightweights than can’t be trusted we push comes to shove.

KennyY

100% James but unfortunately it looks like Dessers is the only one of our forwards capable of taking his chances at this moment in time. He was an upgrade on Igumane at the weekend. Early stages for him though

Bixby Snyder

I’m not quite buying what Aberdeen are selling at the minute but I suppose we’ll find out in this game. They smell like the Hearts of last year and so hope they open up like Hearts did against us for all of last season. They’re squeaking by with 1 goal of a difference victories and Celtic should have put 5 past them at least. Their two centre backs look honking. Hope we can take advantage of their hubris too.

Heart and Hand

If you are right I will draw everyone’s attention to this post. If we don’t, I won’t mention it. So you can’t lose really 😀

Bixby Snyder

Ha! Yes, could get egg on ma face. I just think their fans and the media have pumped them up a bit too much when in reality they’ve had to battle for every win. They’re winning, which is what matters, but they’re not stomping all over everyone like the hype would suggest.

stephen

I'm almost looking forward to seeing what Rangers turn up. Is there any point in Aberdeen doing a prematch briefing??, do they have more than one??

Steffen McAndrew

Always a delight to hear Alan Bradley's dulcet tones. I hope a midfield 3 of Barron, Raskin and Sterling plays tomorrow; we must match them for physicality.
