Fraser Martin

One of our better performances lads. Don't worry.

John Smith

Get him gone for his own sake

That UFO Podcast

Got to be the end for Clement now. He’s been dealt a shit hand, but done little to help himself. Here we go again, another sacking

William Mcdonald

Have to applaud you all for being able to talk after that. Will listen tomorrow once it's sunk in a bit. Well done lads

Alan Weir

During the summer months, it was hinted that Butland would captain the team as Tavernier left for pastures new. It didn’t happen and Clement didn’t have the balls to start the new season with something different, leaving us with a tired, slow, easily dispirited captain well beyond his best. And tired, slow and easily dispirited are key words to describe what is at the heart of our whole club now. Clement can’t blame anyone but himself for his imminent sacking. He had his opportunity: he blew it.

Billy Forrester

Listen tomorrow on way to work but can’t imagine there are any positives to spin on this shambolic, weak, pathetic performance. I’m totally done with Clement who said it was one of our better performances. The man is a clown and is making Pedro look like Pep Gaurdiola. He must go now to try and even salvage this season, try to get 2nd, win a trophy as if he stays we won’t do that. We are in sum mess

Duncan Smith

Where do we go from here gents. We need motivation and a system and a new manager

Charlie Murdoch

He’s already bleating on about signings we may or may not make in January. Just get shot of him now and save any more embarrassments.

Alastair Thomson Mills

As Fraser said in Dads Army. ‘We are Doomed’ we have no board. We have a fantasist manager. Get Thomson and Barry Ferguson in.

Ivan Toombs

Feeling pretty low just now being a Rangers fan. Where do we put our hope, or what’s left of it?

Ryan Lynch

I've said it before, but fair play to whichever bunch of you need to watch the game again (for Flagship, Preview Show etc) and put yourself through it again. Glad it isn't me.

Scott

I take my hat off to you lads for being available to comment after that utter horror show. Clement out.

Greg Cameron

Plenty of nonsense to pick from from the managers comments but bringing up finances when we've just been fucked into 3rd place by a team with a fraction of our budget...No signs of progress at all. He's done

Iain Dunleavy

Paul le guen signings: Lionel Letizi, Karl Svensson, Jeremy Clement, Makhtar N’Diaye, Lee Martin, Phil Bardsley, Libor Sionko, Filip Sebo, Sasa Papac, Antoine Ponroy and William Stanger Walter Smith signing when taking over in January: Kevin Thomson David Weir Ugo Ehiogu Andy Webster Time to get back to what works for Rangers and start signing players who understand scottish football/rangers. Since being promoted we have had window after window of Paul Le Guen signings. Players who are a gamble paid a fortune cost a fortune and don't get the club or suited to scottish football. No coincidence we do well in Europe and shite in the league and I know what I would prefer.

Robert Atkinson

Tav notches up another kill. Surely no one can defend his role as captain.

Tailor scott

Any fan with a brain saw this coming 3 years ago. We were right, the board are a shambles. The manager has to go along with 90% of the squad.

Stuart Grady

The question fans are asking is “can we afford to sack him?” When it really should be “can we afford not to?” I wanted Clement in. I defended him. I’ll hold my hands up. I was wrong. Quite unbelievably it’s as bad if not worse than Beale. He needs to go. There can be no hesitation from those in charge.

Simon Lewandowski

ive got to say tonight was no real surprise we let Aberdeen bully us all over the pitch in the first half and then when we get back into it we decided to defend like an under 10s side...that might be doing unded 10s all over the world a disservice actually. one other thing...how is it possible in a game we must win to end the game with four fullbacks on the pitch

Robert Reid

The worst part for me is the lack of fight and team spirit. Not knowing what being a Rangers player means, walking to take corners, not tracking back, not showing a desire to step up even when your keeper saves a penalty. Worst I've felt in a long time.

Christopher Fair

Was done with the Manager after the Celtic game when he told me what I was watching wasn't what I was watching with my own eyes.

Daniel Ward

We know how this ends we just don’t know when it ends, let’s hope we don’t do a Man Utd and let it drag on. His interview post match was worthy of being sectioned for. Bin the cycle of mid block, shite one paced side to side football managers. Go get a coach who plays a defined attacking style who will improve players

Charles McIntyre

I wanted to give him the Season. I felt he deserved that. However listening to his post match delusional interview he’s done. I want him gone soon as.

David Whyte

Thanks for this guys. Phil’s time is up for me now, goodness knows where we go from here

Jim McCutcheon

Poor squad poor management and piss poor board don't have a clue mistakes one after another 🤷‍♀️ do we just limp on with this 😐

Allan

It's just sad what has been allowed to happen.

John Breen

Feels like we are back to this time last year. Tactically terrible in the SPL. Told we are a few transfer windows away from competing and we see a guy who has been at Aberdeen for a few months get his team right up for it. Watching this team has me angry and agitated. Propper was rightly so dropped since the weekend but some players drop a clanger every week and still play. At the end of the day Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard

Andy MacArthur

Fair play being able to release the pod after that. The last few years has had some pretty big lows but this is up there. If the sheep finish 2nd and Hearts get investment from Tony Bloom we are in a very dangerous position. I just can’t see how we rescue this season or where we even go beyond that.

David Ferguson

Raskin and Barron as a midfield 2 is better than any of his 3 predecessors have inherited. Clement has to go

David Ferguson

The only defence of Clement is the lack offence. Can’t be sacking another manager in October etc etc

Allan

David, it's not knee-jerk. The sheep had 6 new players, and they looked fine. Must have signed before our lads. He's done. But this board will not act until there are empty seats right before season renewals.

Alan Stewart

Absolutely gutless. Only one team shown desire and hunger and that was a team built for less than we paid for Matondo. A disgrace to the jersey, Never mind, got 6 months of Murty to look forward to in the morning.

James

We said early last season that Dessers would get Beale sacked. Well I think he’s about to do the same for Clement. Now, I’m not saying it as all his fault, of course it isn’t, but if we had a decent striker who could score and hold up the ball the cracks would be papered over and we’d be in a better place. He is emblematic of a piss poor Rangers team and back room team who couldn’t see that we needed to punt him.

Neil

I think most of us in our hearts knew this was coming, so I can’t even pretend to be shocked or outraged. Clement is not the right guy for the job, but sacking him now achieves nothing until the shambles above him is sorted. We’d just be digging a deeper hole for ourselves. It’s been said by others, so I don’t think it’s a hot take to say we’re going to have to grit through what is going to be a shambolic, humiliating write-off of a season, until we have a new hierarchy and some new investment in … so at least there can be some kind of plan. Much as I hate them, fair play to Aberdeen though, the reason we’re 3rd isn’t *only * because we’re shite, they’re having a miraculous season

Lee

Clements excuses are past insulting now. This new team pish when we are getting raced away from by a team with a brand new manager. He doesn't look to implement anything through coaching. Appears to be a pre-historic management style where just sign better players is the plan.

Jim Milne

I said this morning I'd back him irregardless of tonight's result, but it's hard to justify that argument when he is interviewed post match telling us "we watched a different game" than the one he did. I'm not sure the board will sack him. Rudderless, clueless and leaderless on and off the pitch.

Craig

I don’t know where we go from here. His post match on Sky was a car crash, just like how we played tonight!

Gordon Millar

Cammy nails it, players don't believe in what their being asked to do...... depressingly predictable result and a support and dressing room that has made it's mind up, next manager whenever that comes needs to concentrate on building a team to compete domestically, we can't go through this year after year, belief in the club is drifting as time goes on....

Simon Botterill

Until the board and the management employed embrace and accept the environment they operate in there will be no change. I am on the fence with PC but he has not actioned the obvious challenges. 1. A captain who can influence in a strategic position. Look at Shinnie tonight... 2. Built a backroom strategy to manage the match day from ball boys, to officials to opposition conduct. 3. Managed challenging players like Cantwell. 4. Removed his ideology of how he expects this league to be run. 5. Bought in more winners and animals to create intensity, football is only intensity at its core. We have zero. He has been constrained financially and supported by dated and unstrategic board but he has like Gio not been able to read the road or understand it.

Ewan Taylor

Gio this time in 22, Beale this time in 23, Clement hopefully in 24. Can’t perform in big domestic games, no one has faith in him turning it around and if he mentions in the building once again he can leave said building. Languid, turgid, spineless, shapeless crap.

Will McAulay

Lightweight, no heart, zero expectation for the rest of the season

John Breen

Financially doesn’t give him an excuse for the way his team plays. Just look at the Aberdeen manager in a few months. Remember where they finished the league last season

T5

Time for him to leave the building.

Alan Weir

I’d agree he’s a tactical disaster, but it’s the shrug of the shoulders, the jogging over to take a set piece when speed is of the essence and the getting pushed off the ball by every left-sided attacker in Scotland that sets the whole lethargic, “bad things are about to happen” tone of the team and club.

JM

That was more of a beating than the budget. The owners need to get a grip PDQ.

Martin Sutherland

Interim until the summer. KT, Davis etc. Gilligan has to act. He cannot shy away from this

Craig scullion

A striker that can do basics helps this team massively! I honestly don't think i have seen a worse player for us.

Scott Stewart

Pc please go ! Bring in Mcciness or martindale. Or both. Steady the ship for two years. Guys who know the league and get the best out of what they have. We are a Very weak side , not many positives. Big c diddy is rank and should never be a Gers first choice 9. Although there’s a million other issues

Neil Wilson

Another early season reset. If you punt Clement, it would probably be best to go with a temporary manager till the summer. We have to get out of the habit of a new manager coming in, dealing with a poor squad, fans making up their minds on him and then calling for his head if he doesn't start the following season well. Any new manager coming in is still going to have to overhaul the squad with 12 to 15 players required out and in with limited funds.

Graeme Glennie

I'm done going to ibrox this season. Apathy has completely set in. Sitting on my couch watching it is torture.

Lee Branki

Listening in the car down from Aberdeen guys so thanks for the swift upload. Club is a joke from top to bottom fortunate enough to get tickets for everywhere and the away fans tonight were just resigned to the defeat when they went 2/1 up. The club is absolutely rotten from top to bottom, you guys mentioned apathy setting in tonight the fans were really angry and people at the club better strap in. Ps the manager is hopeless and should be left in Aberdeen.

Simon Botterill

The worst on field captain I have seen. He is a RB, unless you are elite team you can't afford to have your captain out of the constant of the game. It's supposed to be pro football.

David Ferguson

We scored both goals at the weekend by hitting the bye line and cutting it back. Didn’t do it once tonight. Dereliction of duty

Joanne

We have had three managers in three years that have managed to have a similar trajectory with the team, in terms of the league anyway. Initial ten game bounce of positive results and performances followed by a downward spiral of losing crucial games when the pressure is on. It’s not the same players now, we’ve had a lot of turnover. So why is it the same outcome and lack of progress after a year in charge? The team has been physically and mentally weak, injury prone and lacking pace and goals for three years. The financial implications of not finishing second is alarming. At this stage of the season, can’t believe I’m thinking we need to do anything and everything just to finish second. But that’s where we are. The manager being sacked solves nothing if there’s no better replacement lined up. I understand we need to direct anger somewhere but how long do we give the next guy when he potentially inherits a worse financial situation than the current manager? Writing off the season before Halloween every year is an unsustainable horror show. Seriously worried about the long term future of the club.

George Baxter

I've got two sons, both brought up Rangers supporters. Season ticket holders since the eighties. One watched the Spurs City game instead of watching us. The other gave up at half time. Needless to say I've fallen out with them as I've never done that. Says it all I suppose . He has to go.

8luenose1872

Letting sports science clowns pick our team week by week, starts a lightweight mcausland away at the sheep when hes been poor for weeks, takes off the most dangerous player in the 2nd half who looked well pissed off at being subbed but kept dessers on for over 80 mins. Add that to not changing tactics even once all season when its not been working. He has to go but i fear the board will use him to take some heat off them.

Scott Stewart

I actually can’t listen to pc excuses anymore. I no longer lsiten to his interviews. I thought gio was bad and hard to listen too. But pc heading past that ! Hindsight’s a wonderful thing. All the fans who wanted gio and Gerrard sacked should take a long hard look and get real ! I said at the time be careful what you wish for ! We are rock bottom I genuinely don’t think we can get any worse. Our clubs a mess from top to bottom

dotty 84

Certain level of sympathy with Clement a budget slashed where he's 4 players on 27k a week short in the squad. Bugger all in transfers due to Beale's dross, Hampden and investment before Kyiv. 3 wingers and a 6m striker short Today. I wonder how we'd be faring if we managed to ship out Tav and Dessers in the summer.

Mack

Dessers is that bad, it impacts (obviously) the other forward players. Does Danilo’s return make a marked difference to the team?? That’s pure desperation btw. Some state we’re in.

Dave White

Dismal but the worst thing is that it's entirely predictable. It's not even a shock now that we lose and play badly. Our squad is appalling and despite all these constant "rebuilds" and "clear outs" nothing ever changes.

james whyte

"One of our better performances of the season" Ok Phil 😂 Don't laugh you would greet. We all knew the Club was a mess. I don't think we realised just how much of a mess. The finances, the lack of board structure and the lack of competence on the pitch and in the dugout suggest a good spell of pain upcoming. We desperately need leadership and direction. ASAP.

Scott Stewart

It will probably take a defeat at the weekend to make the board take action. But we’ll likely win on Sunday and all will be forgiven until the next defeat !We are utterly garbage really really poor. No style of play. No energy. No identity. It really is time for a change

Alan Weir

Dessers’ problem is not lack of confidence. He struts about, laughing and joking (as well as his cheeky chappy interaction with every referee) like he’s having a great game. He can’t believe it when he’s hooked. Dessers’ problem is lack of basic football skills. Some of us mentioned this last season before it was too late to do anything about it.

Kenny Park

We are continuing to do the same things. Which don’t work. It’s mad. 😠

Mr J K Murray

it is a two way road, in if he does not leave on his own will, his own position will be worse for his next management work, results are going to get worse, do not see a Rangers managers job being too difficult domestically, but some just cannot fit it,thats our own bad management, agreed they do not looked coached & always injured, team should be better than it is with these players domestically,no one can take the domestic pressure & they are young, lol,

Stephen Fraser

I’d see Dessers out the door before the manager. But to be fair, that post-match script was absolute madness.

Simon Botterill

🤣 I just don't want a dated and clueless board bringing in another competent manager for a different league environment. To succeed at Rangers and in Scotland will require a very specific character of manager and I question if they really understand that.

Gordon Smith

I don't get what I'm supposed to do as a fan. The club is at an absolute low point and surely needs our support but what exactly is there to support? If this is a transitional season what are we actually transitioning to ? There must be a better use of my time and money than this. Maybe I'll check the team and if it's the same mistakes being made just find something better to do with my time and try to check the score later.

John Gow

Clement doesn’t understand Rangers. Sacking him will create lots of problems but he’s not a winner and should not be Rangers manager.

Simon H&H

Just put him out his misery in the next 24 hours. Hopefully take Dessers with him.

stefan strzelecki

Clement needs gone tomorrow. Words fail me. I’m worried about the result , against any team in the league under him. If it’s an interim , then it’s got to be people of a good pedigree out of work. I would get Sam allardyce in for the remainder of the. Season .

Doogz

Clement dosent get Rangers or Scottish football, got bounce when he first came in, as soon as it came to the crunch he folded. He spoke with some clarity when he first came in, but for months now it’s been complete nonsense he’s coming out with, one of our better performances tonight, do me a favour. He added another coach in the summer he has brought nothing to the table apart from another pay off cheque to be written. Feel sorry for John Gilligan left to deal with this utter shitshow. Where’s the rest of the board Halstead Woldhart and co should be getting their flights booked and getting to Glasgow to get this shambles sorted

William George Bell

The manager is deluded seeing things no supporter is seeing and making awful on field decisions.

Colin Mathie

It was one of our better performances according to the diddy supposedly in charge.

Andrew Meldrum

We don't look coached. It's too late for Clement now, but I do wonder if his worst signings were his coaches. The buck stops with Clement, but he's asking his coaches to run set pieces, run drills, teach the players to do what he wanted. Sometimes when managers get fired you question if the whole coaching team should be fired as well, but that needs to be the case. If Clement wants to fight for his job, he gives two coaches their jotters tomorrow.

John O'Neill

Appreciate the pod lads, cannot disagree with anything that was said but I am struggling to think of who the talented players are that we may lose in January.

David Hanlon

Completely agree with David. Time to go on gardening leave for the good of the fans. I personally will not be back at Ibrox this season with him in charge and a complete shit of a striker up front.

Miguel Sanchez

David mentioned pre Gerrard for a worse front line? I'd take an aged Miller, Candeias, Windass, Murphy, Cummings and a young Morelos it's shocking to say but that is categorically better then our multi million pound shanners on mega wages with no sell on value. It's grim lads.

Doogz

As for his comments post match, the Belgians might swallow that Phil but the punters from Govan won’t.

Douglas Innes

said it about this time last season on Follow Follow we had a better 11 in Gerrards 1st season and was ridiculed for stating it

Stephen

If Clement goes, do we trust the board to make the right appointment this time? That’s three managers that have failed under their reign. Questions need to be asked about them imo

Neil Fox

The confidence within the team is gone, player to player There was a few times tonight the camera panned to a few players after a Tav fuck up and they were staring straight at him looking fucked off. If players don't have confidence in each other your fucked

IAN OGILVY

His post match interview….dear god. Lads you thought you’d finished the Murty Years!…..If this Interim Chairman is a Rangers die hard then he has to end the “ Paul/Pedro Le Clement” farce. The club from top to bottom is at its lowest since the early 80s. I remember being in a 12,000 home attendance v Dundee and at least then there was actually some heart in the side. “ I think it was one of our better performances this season until now”. He should be sacked just for saying that!! I’m sure he even tried to use the Year End Financial results as an excuse! He has to go. Please.

John Breen

Seen Souttar throwing him daggers. He should be throwing punches at him instead

Callum

This is the culmination of years of bad decisions. Sacking the manager isn’t the answer. Who else are we going to get? (V-B, Beale, Gerrard?). There is no board to find a new manager? Buying him out will delay the squad rebuild even more. He’s reduced the wage bill substantially and the players he has brought in are upgrades (x-Proper). Jefte, Diomandi, Cerny, Barron, Bajrami are not the issue. Cortes … not sure if unlucky or stupid to assume he would recover promptly. The problems are with the likes of Tavernier, Dessers, Lawrence … the injury prone nature of the squad and complete lack of depth. Who else does he pick tonight?

Steven Carmichael

No surprises, which is the worst indictment of this management team and players. Do the same things, get the same results.

Jim Milne

That's what happens when a player shit out of form is picked ahead of others. It sets the tone for a toxic workplace

Graham Ross

Why is Alex Rae wearing a Santa hat? Bit of humour and that's all we have.

Martin Sutherland

There is a common stand amongst our support that you need to be one extreme or the other. This is the case with Danilo. Is he Ally McCoist? No. Is he significantly better than Dessers? Absolutely. He has played sparingly and averages a goal every 110 minutes in the league. He’s not perfect but he is without a doubt the best we have.

Vanb bryceter

The truth hurts is the saying. I am just fucking numb after watching that pish. There is nothing to grab on to no pace no power no heart no shape no leadership Nada nothing. Clement has to be put out his misery for his own and our sakes. Thanks for the truth guys we can only wait for the inevitable now hopefully it'll be quick

Bob MacCallum

We did it once from Tav. Lawrence missed it, then it went to DROSSERS who, instead of hitting it 1st time into the net, like a proper striker, took a touch that bounced away from him. Score 1-1 at the time. Tav caused 2nd goal and missed with a header in 94th minute. Tav at back, Drossers up front will get Phil sacked ( saying that since LAST season) yet he won't drop either.

Steve Clark

I’ll hold my hands up and say I am one of the fans who had the mindset that,we can’t just keep sacking managers every year.that was my heart ruling my head.his comments after the game has alienated even those who were willing to give him the season.i am sure I am not the only one who thought just after Aberdeen scored the first goal that we were going to collapse totally.they had that spell up to the pen where it looked like we were on the verge of falling apart.deep down we had our suspensions but tonight most rangers fans knowhow this ends.bite the bullet and get it done

Steve23

A completley fair and accurate summary lads, well done, I couldn’t do that straight after a game like that. I don’t have anything new to add really and I’m sick of talking about it. I did find a couple of points from David interesting and he was spot on. Contrary to the drivel fed to the fans from Clement on a weekly basis, this team is actually regressing month on month, we are not improving at all, we are in fact Gettimg worse. Secondly, the players deserve an enormous amount of criticism from the fans but to focus on the coaching staff for now, we have no balance or structure, no purpose, no penetration up front and and his team selection and substitutes tonight, actually made those things even worse. I don’t know what we do next but the stark reality is that Rangers FC are floundering in a tinpot league, that includes the football operation and the corporate governance. To top it all off, Rangers, that great British sporting institution with 150+ years of history and a massive, fanatical support base, can’t afford to correct yet another poor manager/coach appointment. Let that sink in.

Delgers

The manager has done what the rest have before him. Stuck by a rigid formation with sub standard players who can't donthe job he wants them to. Loyalty to charlatans has hammered the nails into his managerial coffin with us!

Darren Stewart

It’s hard to believe the state we’re in, after winning the 55 and then being runners up in the Europa league 2 years ago. The board have made such a mess of things and need to be held accountable now.

Steff Clarke

I was still behind the manager, but the away form has meant that I just can no longer put my faith in him. He's inherited a bin fire and been working in a deeply disfunctional business with no managerial structure or leadership, however even given all these impediments, it's just not good enough.

G Calder

Its actually laughable a lot of fans think we cam afford to sack the manager . There is no money. We are stuck with this for the foreseeable.. Suck it up .

Graeme McLeod

Fans aren't going to "suck it up" though. Fans are going to become apathetic, stop going every week and some won't renew season tickets.

Graeme McLeod

Handing Clement the level of control he has and giving him a contract extension in the summer is evidence that they're useless. Absolutely no need for that extension whatsoever.

Ian Hunter

He’s not making players better, Sterling and Dio have regressed. Barjrami and Kasanwirjo will be next.

JimGLW

Thanks for such an honest analysis David As for Dessers. Atrocious and depressing that this is our striker

Allister

I was behind keeping the manager. We cant really afford to pay him off, it would mean more turmoil, more risk and more money to be spent on the new managers squad making that appointment all the more difficult. I’ve now changed my mind as all of that is better than what we currently have.

Steff Clarke

Time to ask for a bag of cans, and Fashion Sakala back

Alan Mitchell

PC was given the extended contract for a reason and for my money he has done more to keep the lights on than any of the so called board. The appetite for investment is not there because of this current board and their frankly petty pissing contest. CEO is a must before any sackings or anything else.

Scott Corral

Nothing in recent weeks is suggesting we will get by Motherwell. They just need to match the desire that Aberdeen showed last night and we will struggle.

G Calder

How much would it take to sack PC & his team ? We MAY scrape up enough to be able to do this .. Then what ? Who would we get in - the club is a mess .

Suzy

I did expect a poor result against Aberdeen . I really did want a better team performance and us to look like a unit. My thoughts on the whole situation - I don't think this is a good team. Our recruitment over the last few years has been woeful and there are obvious errors that you can still see to this day. My issue with the manager is , even if you do have poor players or players not playing to their potential - still need to play them in their natural position. Play them in a way that suits the team you have rather than the team you wish. So I have issues with the starting lineup anyway but I also cannot understand the substitutions , absolutely wild in my opinion

jamey Carruthers

Ally McCoist has picked on that stuff with Dessers from the start. He’s not actually got a clue how to play the position

Craig Scott

The fight for 3rd place starts now

Michael

He was given the contract because the board tried to prove a point that they were all in on him, simple.

Brett

No one knows what we do at the training ground any more, as the club don’t post videos from what I can see. Under Gerrard it felt like we were getting a couple of clips a week

Glyn Davies

Aberdeen can sell there best asset in Miovski for big money & rebuild a team in a summer with about £2 million in transfer fees......we release a pile of players for nothing, sell a few players for peanuts & spend £12 - £15 million & look worse than we did last season........no pace, no power, no guts, leaderless off the park, leaderless on the park & leaderless in the dug out. I'm not even upset, this season has completely drained me of emotion already that last night almost had me laughing rather than screaming.......the Banter years are back with a vengeance

Colin Hutchison

I think we all accepted its a transitional season, however,I transitional Rangers should never ever be as poor as this and should still entertain and be able to create and still score goals.

chris smith

Id take Ted fcukin Lasso currently …

Dylan Brand

Give the job to Alex McLeish til the end of the season. He has a history of improving underperforming rangers teams, knows Scottish football, and won’t take shit from these shitebags that are persistent in our squad.

Hugh Gourley

I can accept the rebuild was gonna be a had season but the team is giving us no hope no signs to be optimistic when the fans can't see that then we have nothing

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Guys when we line up an play a think we always look like 2 or 3 of our players didn’t bother coming out the dressing room Not any play in particular just that our general play is so gappy and loose like surly there’s a player missing Like it always looks like it’s 9 v 11 Nothing joins up

Craig Anderson

In a footballing sense I think the guys are spot on with their case for him to go. But after the numbers we seen today my question would be, will the money lost in ticket sales due to fan apathy eclipse what it’s going to cost to sack him? Because from an admittedly basic understanding of those books yesterday, we really need to aim to recover financially before we do on the pitch at the moment?

Andrew Meldrum

Exactly. And I don't think the summer recruitment has resulted in us signing bad players. Aberdeen were average players who knew their roles, believed and fought for every ball. We were talented players who looked like they hadn't met, were working it out as they went along and didn't expect to win.

Bryan Watson

I genuinely reckon we could appoint Jurgen Klopp and still want him out the door before Halloween 2025. Clement needs to go unfortunately his position is untennable but Rangers' issues are systemic. We have no experienced or competent football professionals running this club, setting a strategic vision for the club with a clear and realistic plan of how we get there. I'd go ask the question of Muscat, he is who I wanted last year because his style of play is exactly what we need in Scotland as much I think it would take time to implement. However, if he had any sense about him he (and any other decent manager) would tell us to bolt because we are a basket case. Michael Beale was a failed experiment fair enough but Gio and Clement are 2 managers with a decent track record of success in leagues that are of a similar level / standard to ours, both set to have lasted just 12 months. As much as those managers have had their faults , the exact same things keep happening which suggests that the issues are systemic and that there many more things at play beyond the manager. Sunday will be fun.

Latimer

I think we need to hear from Gilligan or Letham on wtf is going on.

Andrew Meldrum

There is a lot of truth in that. But the counter is threefold. 1 it was Koppen who identified the players we signed. 2 Koppen and the board were signing players for positions Clement wanted players for. So the fact we didn't prioritise a centre forward who wasn't a raw 20 year old comes back to Clement. 3 Our players still look like they have just met, and that is down to Clement and his coaching staff. Clement isn't getting the best out of his players, and no one seems to think that will change.

Ewan Christie

Corporate mismanagement at the highest level. Unfortunately Clement is the one who will bear the brunt of it and should probably go. However, the problems run far deeper than how the team looks on the park, and that is 100% on the board. Worst thing for me is, with no sellable assets in the squad, and no real investment opportunities on the horizon that we know of - how do we improve?

Graham Roy

Homer Simpson pouring bleach gif sums up my mood as I go to listen to this!

Glyn Davies

Spot on chief.....listen, i could type all day with a hundred points i have about the state of our club but ill try & keep this short (ish)....i agree wirh you thay they are decent players for the most part, but there is a severe lack of fight on the park....most of these guys don't know what it means to be a Ger! Tav is the best example, inducted into the Hall of fame on the back of one league title, a Scottish cup & in fairness an impressive european campaign almost 10 years at the club....he has always been part of the problem & this "self preservation society" mentality at the club in recent years......if Tav met the criteria for HoF induction on one league title, one Scottish cup & a Europa league final then why are players like Whittiker & Broadfoot not in the HoF, they got to a European final, but they won more domestic trophies than Tav ever will.....I'm.not for a second suggesting these players should be in the HoF its just a point I like to make, our "rebuild" should of started with Tav being shown the door rather than let him milk it for another season just to get his testimonial

Jordan McKay

There’s reports coming out of Saudi that Gerrard has been sacked. If that’s confirmed today then it’s a no brainer for me.

John Hutchison

Tough listen, but so many home truths. Like David, I also have a 'long fuse', but im concerned where the money will come from for a severence package. Can't see this board stumping up?

Fraser T8

I think we are a good coach away from finishing second. A good coach and four players from challenging for title. The spine is weak. Need a commanding centre half, creativity and steel in midfield and a regular goal scorer. Not happening this season but Aberdeen showing how it can be done. And in a much lower budget.

Doug Young

What are the common denominators in losing three managers in three years? The team that walks over the white line lacking leadership and direction. Whichever way you slice it up, Tav looms large.

Billy Forrester

It will cost the club more by not sacking him as fans will walk and empty stadiums and no merch sales etc will soon amount to millions. He must go, and today preferably. It’s no excuse saying we cannot afford to sack him, we should never be held to that ransom

Billy Forrester

All I’ve heard is we cannot afford to sack him. Absolute bullshit and we should never be held to ransom that we cannot afford to sack anyone. We cannot afford to keep him as the fans will walk and the empty seats and the lack of people buying merch, the not getting 2nd in league or a cup win will cost far more than it will to pay him off, the cost to sack him will be pre determined and be a clause, won’t be 4 years salary He must go now, today as he is an absolute clown who makes Pedro in a bush look sane

John Palmer

I agree. Only thing Clement can do now is F Off. The Board can F'n Follow him. Disgrace

Jonny Burnside

December 2021, the scotch government postponed football over Christmas, the only league in Europe to do so. We were on a great run and due to play Aberdeen and Celtic at new year, a Celtic that Postecoglou had run into the ground and had a massive injury list. I’m certain we’d have won both, but drew with Aberdeen and got scudded off Celtic when the fixtures were eventually played. That decision cost us the league title that season (not discounting the likes of the Motherwell 2-2 and Ross county 3-3). Yes, the club is in turmoil and has been for a while in reality, but that one decision that only applied in Scotland changed the course of the last few seasons.

Craig

Minor thing in the grand scheme, but McCausland has started 5 games this season and been hauled off at half time in 3 of them. Why is the manager wasting his time picking a player he clearly doesn't trust?

Ross

We simply need to sack him and bring in McLeish till the end of the season, get a ceo and a chairman and have a proper review on this awful season and where it’s went wrong as fans will turn,we can’t keep going on like this as it’s been a waste of the last 3 years since we won the league

Revan1872

He wouldn't play for any other team in our division. He's a league of Ireland level player

Revan1872

Not sure what talented players Cammy is worried will want to leave in January. There aren't many if any that would be a great miss

Stuart cunningham

If we end up 3rd and in the conference next year the cash for any business won't be thair it's time to act now no excuses

Callum

Fair on Koppen I guess. Hard to tell. But remember that we couldn’t buy until we sold in the summer, so everything was last minute. I do wonder where we would have been if we’d bought Shankland last winter.

Glyn Davies

A complete clear out from the very top to the bottom is required, we.are broken in every aspect of the club, starting with board members (the Parks leading the procesion) training staff, scouts & recruitment staff, medical staff, coaches, manager & certain players........Sir Walter & Jimmy Bell must be spinning in there graves! 😭 we need Rangers minded people in the building ASAP & not a bunch of charlatans & spinless bastards..........there is plenty options out there that could step in & help rebuild this club in some capacity as advisors, coaches etc Souness, Mcleish Barry, KT.....Christ after his Nuclear rant on Sky sports last night I'd not rule out Boydy being able to a reaction out of the squad.........does anyone else feel so disillusioned by the state of the club that they would rather see us lose to Motherwell at the weekend so we avoid being ultimately beaten in the final by the sheep or tinks 🙈🙈🙈

Ian McManus

People won’t want to hear this and that’s fine but hear me out… In GVB we had a superb manager with great credentials who led us to a uefa cup final. He couldn’t however win consistently away from home in Scotland. We took the money we should have backed GVB with and gave it to Beale because we longed after the Gerrard era. We were scammed. Clement has effectively had his hands tied behind his back. I wouldn’t mind the current results if we had an obvious plan. Instead there’s no fight and he sticks rigidly to a system that won’t work. However, he’s not incompetent. His European results are excellent. The problem again is winning away in Scotland. It wouldn’t be popular, but I would have Derek McInnes in a heartbeat. It wouldn’t be pretty… but a man that can get results out of Aberdeen and Killie would be an upgrade. Fans don’t like that he turned us down. He did so on the advice of Walter Smith. All of us would have taken Walter Smith’s advice 10 times out of 10. For me, we need stability. We sacrifice the European experience for our bread and butter which is the priority right now.

Porky

Agree with every comment David

Andy Barnett

Simple question, do Rodgers, Thelin, McInnes or even Kettlewell do better with the same group of guys players? For me it’s 100% We’re shite and the clubs a mess, but massively underperforming. The players either dont play for the manager, or are doing what they’re told - either way it’s on Clement.

Rose Mcloughlin

Thanks guys....yes we need a new manager but one who understands Scottish football...stop showing managers the videos of us playing brilliantly in europe...show them the realities of poor pitches...mad dash football so they have an idea can they hack it....then see what response we get from the players...and restart our build up again....I gave Clement my 100% back up last year but he has lost it now and it looks like he has lost the dressing room too....BOARD act now before we throw away another 2 seasons.

Robert

David, are you suggesting sacking Clement and replacing him for the rest of the season with Kevin Thomson?

Heart and Hand

With a temp till end of season, doesn’t need to be the guys I mentioned. Take time and get the right boss. It’s not going to happen though.

Adam Williamson

I haven’t felt despair like this about the whole club for a very long time. There is no way this gets any better anytime soon. We have years upon years of abject misery to endure now, all thanks to this absolute disgrace of a board. I don’t know how they sleep at night.

Maca82

Prob like most on here I have mates who support the likes of Hearts and St Mirren etc (none of that mob to play the staunch card) and they will talk about coming to ibrox and having a good spell. You usually laugh saying yea magic ten mins you still lost. I feel Phil is turning into those guys with his take on games. He manages Rangers his jobs to win. You can blame structures and finances and we all do but ultimately other than Celtic he should have a straightforward job most weeks. Instead we can’t create chances, control a game or look like a big club. Time is up.

Rona Bluebell

David offering to learn to drive? 😱 PC is done

Craig

Kevin Thomson and Steven Davis to end of the season is a good shout. We're getting progressively worse and the gaps going to increase. Ibrox will become like a morgue as the season trundles on...

Craig

Couldn't possibly be any worse than the current situation.

Moody Marco

I completely disagree with sticking guys like Kevin Thomson or Steve Davis in charge for any length of time. Just no.

Craig

Absolutely none. I'd like Clement out as first priority. However it's not a good time to appoint a permanent successor for a multitude of reasons. Firstly - immediate availability of replacement candidates. Secondly - I think the new chairman and CEO should be in place before we make any new appointments as the incumbent board have proved incompetent with all previous managerial appointments. If we can appoint an interim manager they don't have to be concerned with rebuilds, projects, player trading / recruitment, implementation of long term playing philosophy. Their remit would be very much simpler in the long term. Stabilise and get results on the pitch in the short term.very much a tactical role without the strategic responsibility that Clement or a new manager will have responsibility for. Very simple and not complicated by " the journey or the project". For that reason I think we should go for someone who can make the changes needed to deal with the teams in the spl in the short term and try to ensure we secure 2nd place and the champions league qualifying spot. I take the point KT / SD might not be the best solution but I definitely think they would galvanise the squad and support until the new CEO can find us the new manager . Just sharing my logic - flawed as it may sound 👍😀

Steven Miller

There is no evidence to suggest either of these gentleman would galvanise the squad or indeed the support...none

Steven Miller

You said they'd galvanise the squad and support, I don't believe there is any evidence to suggest this mate, sorry

Craig

I agree there is no evidence. I don't know what else you want me to say. Every managerial appointments a gamble. They all have risk despite evidence to the contrary. The evidence that Gio and Clement could be successful was very strong but in the end meant nothing. Both failutes in terms of being successful domestically.
