Thanks James. Another absolutely horrific shift for you.

Paul Kerr

Sorry you have to keep going thru this James, thanks for your time.

Spoon

At least we can depend on you James, unlike the team or club you turn up 👍🏻

Have to say the logic of not appointing mid season is lost on me. If you appoint the RIGHT guy the timing doesn’t matter, we have either appointed the wrong guys or the backing has been lacking. If you appoint in the summer the panic comes to get in the management team, implement the changes and sign all the players before Euro qualifying kicks off (if we are even in there). Accounts tell you there will not be a rebuild, there won’t be mass change in players and given our reliance on loans we will have many slots to fill to just maintain numbers. Buy local, get a Scottish based coach and end the foreign pep light pipe dreams. Time to get the identity back on and off the field. With our assets the issue is getting the right guy not a guy with a fancy CV or who wants to focus on Europe.

Can't bring myself to listen but thanks for doing it James, you've probably got the worst of it

I guess I’m coming at it from the pov that I don’t trust the decision makers to appoint the right guy at the moment. In my head you make the change, interim till the end of the season, appoint CEO, Chairman, DOF, let them do the work of appointing the person long term they believe can implement the vision. Just don’t see what the vision is right now, don’t actually believe there is one. Put it this way, it’s exactly what Aberdeen did when they appointed Thelin and clearly that was worked wonders for them. Our previous attempts of permanent mid season appointments simply have not worked long term.

Spoon

I do take your point bud just not sure it’s any better, the right guy is the right guy. Our problem is or has been finding him! I worry we are using the wrong search parameters more than the timing.

Spoon

I do fully accept though there’s no rush, or we might need to and should wait for the right guy.

Heart and Hand

Because the new manager will get a bounce, fans expectations will go up and when the season ends in disappointment we carry the bad mood and hangover into the new season.

Spoon

Doesn’t matter if he is the right guy with the right backing. The new guy then automatically needs time to implement his plans / business and we will be chasing our tails to be ready for Europe (hopefully!). I get the argument and can see the positives you propose I’m just of the belief the right guy coming is is the issue and the support he gets, it might be a moot point if the right guy isn’t available or in a job. I wouldn’t delay it though

Heart and Hand

But say he's the right guy and he doesn't win against Celtic - might be narrow losses, we might play well....then you know how next season starts.

Spoon

Is it better that we are 6 months in just gelling and he is on his third loss to them ?

Spoon

Gerrard got time as he incrementally got closer then turned it over, new guy would have buy in doing well vs the rest and creeping closer. We are a basket case support but we love seeing things gel and build, sooner the better for me.
