Greg Cameron

Cheers lads, canny be easy recording these at the moment especially if your head is as bursting as mine!

David MacT

Bajrami plays left wing for Albania by the way. Was said by someone on this pod he plays as an attacking midfielder for them, he doesn't.

Vanb bryceter

What an absolute cluster fuck the club is just now.How can it be that in Europe against much better teams than the spfl fodder we dispatch them no bother but here we get pummeled every game win lose or draw. Clement making an arse of himself isn't helping either. Tomorrow is the line in the sand for me lose and it's over.Imagine actually writing that down when we're playing murderwell 🫨ffs

Bob MacCallum

Istead of Pooper ( as I call him) or Balogun, we should play Kasanwirjo there or I would give Nsiala a game. Young, big, strong- looking, trained by AC Milan - could he really be any worse than our present 2? The manager needs to drop Tav and Dessers if we are to improve. It won't happen, but on Sunday, this team should start in a 4-3-3. Butland; Sterling, Souttar, Kasanwirjo, Jefte; Raskin, Barron, Diomande; Cerny, Igaman, Bajrami. With Bajrami NOT playing on the wing but inside and off Igaman while Jefte gets up the wing.

John Smith

Why should we care about them when they clearly couldn’t give a fuck about us ? I’m not going to invest my time and energy in to people who have no interest in playing for the badge

Vanb bryceter

That's the correct defence for a start. Tav has given us some fantastic memories alongside some shite ones he is done now. Clement needs to get a run going right now or he is done as well

David

Every point was spot on. From the top down we are a basket case.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks guys good debate i 100% agree with the points made certainly isn't going to be easy to stop the rot and turn things around across the hole club but we must

Hendi

Appreciate this is a fitba show, so going to discuss what's happening on the park. However, all this outrage at the manager is a distraction from where the source of our problems lie. He's fighting with his 2 hands behind his back operating without a CEO or any structure. That's where the anger should be directed. That's where change needs to happen. Clement will be the sacrificial lamb, and some other fire-in will be appointed and whats left of the board will get off the hook again. Also hearing loads of hindsight expertise about the signing of Cortes, apparently he shouldn't have been signed because he was injured last season? However, there seemed to be a pretty big clamour for Sima to be signed, he was injured just as long. And doesn't seem to be holding him back this season.

Kev Armstrong

I always enjoy a different POV. Do you think we seen enough from Cortes to justify spending 4mill on him? Does the CEO or lack of one stop the manager changing tactics or dropping poor performing players? While I agree the lack of a DOF or CEO impacted recruitment there’s things the manager could do to help his current situation.

Vanb bryceter

This is the correct answer Kev. There's no excuse for a manager continually picking out of form players, playing players out of position, and employing a set up that he hasn't got the correct profile of player for all of that falls on Clement and his coaches. The players putting in half hearted challenges not being able to pass to each other and looking like they couldn't give a fuck well that's on them and they all deserve what's coming

Greg

Shinnie is a protected species, not one of our players would get away with what he's allowed to do, yellows galore for us. I wouldn't give my right arm for shinnie, he would be neutered if he played for us.

Billy Forrester

What has a CEO got to do with clement managing the team?He has had near 14 million to spend and been backed, the CEO doesn’t tell him to play a system that doesn’t work in SPL, a CEO doesn’t select the team or order the substitutions, that’s on Clement and he has shown to be stubborn, stupid and very poor in his management and set up of this team. That’s on him so u can defend Clement all u want but his teams and tactics or lack of them are there for us all to see Maybe u like watching the shite he serves us up each week, I don’t and 99% of the fans don’t

Ross

You guys have nailed it when saying we need to sign more domestic players, on Wed evening we had £5m Diomande and £1.7m propper on the bench wasted, that £6.7m coulda been spent far better, we should sign more Domestic guys and by all means get guys like Bajrami and Cerny and other talented foreigners surrounded with scottish guys who knows the league thats what walter did he had plenty of talented foreign lads but also scottish lads

Chris Scott

Good pod, lads. Well in. Feel like two things can be true at once as our board are an embarrassment. After seeing those accounts, it's fair to say Bennetts spell in charge of us following Park's, of course, will go down in infamy. However, our manager is absolutely lost and it's fairly clear he's aware of it also because you're starting to hear the weird excuses and you can also see it's wearing on him. He remains because we can neither afford to bag him and, as said, who can do it? He's a punchbag now, just leave him there until the new CEO is in and can get an easy win by emptying him first day.

David Kiltie

Greg, Iain, I sort of agree with you both. We are such a wussy club at all levels and we need some steel on the park but I can’t see any Rangers player getting away with what Shinnie does. Similarly what Calum McGregor gets away with - it’s beyond a joke. He typically gets booked early on then commits foul after foul. And they claim that they are persecuted by referees!

JimGLW

Spot on fellas. A team with no inspiration but full of excuses.

Christopher Fair

On the comment about who is telling Clement that this isn't acceptable.... Surely Alex Rae knows it's not acceptable and telling him that his press conferences are a lot of shite and it will alienate the fans. So to me I just think Clement genuinely believes the absolute nonsense he's spouting or is too pig headed to admit he's got it wrong and is not willing to change. I was done with him after the Celtic game when I was told that what I was watching with my own eyes wasn't true and that I was wrong.

David Kiltie

Two things can be true at the same time, as we often say on here. Clement must carry the can for dubious selections, formations, tactics, substitutions but the hierarchy must take the blame for not having key positions filled, an issue which is going to filter down and affect the club at all levels. Also the two issues obviously interlink. Giving a manager the boot is down to the Chairman/CEO/DOF and obviously the choice of a successor is down to those guys - someone who they can work well with and who fits their vision. If we accept that PC is our 3rd failed appointment in as many years, then it has never been more important to have the building blocks in place for the appointment of his successor. I can see Clement staying in situ as a dead man walking until the appointments above him are made. Let’s just hope we can get some good results and better performances to lift the mood.

David Kiltie

I see the filth have absolutely massacred the Sheep this evening. Had the Manky Mob played us tonight I would have been dreading that sort of result, but Aberdeen went into tonight’s game in a totally different place. Only a fortnight ago they recovered from 2-0 down at Breezeblock. Tonight was like a Mark McGhee side against Celtic. May well be premature to say this - but could this be the night Thelin’s bubble if not bursts, then at least had a bit of a puncture?

David Innes

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw the score - certainly a reality check for them.

David Kiltie

Recruitment has been varying degrees of awful since summer 2020 and this is really coming home to roost now. A related running sore is losing players who have run down their contracts - think of the extra funds available had this been handled differently. This summer’s downsize/rebuild was absolutely vital. At least the wage bill is significantly lower and the age profile of the squad significantly lower. We are in a very bad place but on those two counts a less bad place than we have been. You mention the summer of 2003, when the departure of Ferguson. Amoruso, McCann and Numan left the team hugely depleted. This summer was a relatively painless downsize - players who had run their race (Borna, Goldson, Lundstram), who hardly played (Jack, Roofe, McLaughlin), who flattered to deceive (Cantwell), who didn’t fit in with Scottish football (Lammers, Cifuentes and Davies). The problem is not the departures but the very disappointing impact made so far, on the whole, by the summer signings. Let’s see if those players deliver more as the season progresses.

Hendi

Aye I wasn't complaining at the Cortes signing from what I saw of him last season, young boy, looked promising. Not been impressed so far with thay I've seen this season. Attitude looks bad and he's lazy at tracking back but I wouldn't write him off if we can get him back.

Hendi

Read the thread on FF with Ancelotti's view of operating without a CEO, he couldn't do it at Chelsea, says its an impossible job, so I'll take his word for it, that it matters.

Ross Stirling

Always a top debate guys. Superb insight and I think you always call it the most accurate. The manager has had to deal with utter nonsense, but the parts of the club he can control, he doesn't do remotely well enough and that's why he's getting the stick he does

Hendi

Also, let's not pretend the answer to our problems lies in limiting our scouting to signing players that do well domestically. That didnt work too well with the likes of Greg Docherty, Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Brandon Barker, Greig Stewart, Floran Kambeiri, Scott Wright and John Souttar...

Doogz

Alex Rae brings nothing to the table as far as I’m concerned, when he’s emptied with Clement he will be back to Radio Clyde as a pundit

Doogz

So what is his his excuse for the collapse last season and playing turgid stuff from February onwards?

Liam Johnson

He’s just in there chasing a Rangers trackie tap. Rae should be telling him straight n obviously isn’t

Liam Johnson

Got to admit i laughed out loud at “bumslayers” 😂

Liam Johnson

Seen that he played there for them recently. I’m sure he said in his unveiling video he could play anywhere up front except left wing but

Douglas Innes

Good comments in regards of who within Rangers are saying to Clement or Tavernier that you can't say that in press conferences ? What is Alex Rae's job/function at Ibrox ? Or is it just an easy wage for many ?

Hendi

It showed... We are not going to get better fishing in 1 small pool. There's value to be had across the world, if we use it right, like with Jefte, Morelos etc It's shopping in the Championship (and a few from established European leagues like Germany, Belgium and Holland) that's killed us.

paul wallace

I fully get it's a project , but at the very least we should be behind celtic , not 9 behind aberdeen

Colin Mathie

After yesterday i fully believe the sheep bubble is burst, whether we can take advantage of it is another story.

KennyY

Aberdeen have had the new manager bounce as we had when Clement came in. It won’t last

KennyY

The frustration that we are all feeling comes across in this pod lads. Hard to disagree with anything that was said.

David Innes

I like Alex Rae but is there any evidence whatsoever that he’s a good coach? Feels like he’s just there to tick the we need a Rangers man somewhere in the back room team box

Graeme Homer

Bajrami has played centrally once in the last ten games for Albania and when at Sassuolo half his game time was on either the left or right wing, at Empoli he played slightly less time on the wings but still enough, so can we please stop spreading this myth please! While the team is shite atm you really can’t be fanny dazzled the sheep and compare us when there is so many differences, especially when we moan and groan about a miss placed pass etc and put the players down constantly, while their fans are the polar opposite atm and it’s infuriating that’s the case.

Iain Dunleavy

When people say sign players from Scotland they mean the likes of Lewis Ferguson, Josh Doig, Lennon Miller etc These are all players that we could have signed by paying a but of money. We only seem interested in signing scottish players for free or players like Jake Hastie that cost about 100k. We could of had Lewis Ferguson for 3 million instead we sign players like Diomande for 4.5 million

Steven L

What a depressing listen. So thankful for this 😂😂😂

David MacT

Na man, he played left wing in Italy loads of times for both Empoli and Sassuolo.

Allan Osborne

I pray the day comes soon where we can have a happy preview with lots of optimism but this is where we are now with this terrible team of ours. The club's an absolute shambles from top to bottom. Imagine wishing the season was over by early November but that's how I feel right now. We are a horrible, boring team to watch on the park and off it a raging bin fire. I don't know how we get out of this mess either as the finances are not good. Utterly depressing.

Douglas Innes

100% , if thought when he was appointed finally someone who'll let the players know what it's all about but there's no evidence to suggest that the attitude that took Alex Rae to the pinnacle of professional football is in evidence of any game we play , Gerrard had it sussed win your battles 1st then win the game ..... we see none of that

Simon H&H

Great pod. Realism, harsh truths and an understating that things won’t change unless the manager goes and the make up of the board must change. What a mess of a club.

Latimer

Listening to Keane, Neville, Lampard and Redknapp talking about Man U failings over last few years. It's Rangers all over albeit to a smaller scale.

Fraser T8

Is it really true that the average player salary is £28k a week or did I pick it up wrong? If correct that is diabolical.

Calum McManus

My dad and I had a conversation about signing best Scottish players the other night, I think we should be within reason, they do it well, but my real question is why do we have an academy ? Shouldn’t our youth players be the best Scottish young players ? None of them get a look in! Either not willing to risk it or not good enough, neither answer is good!

Jamiedfa

Brilliant once again lads
