John Smith

Meaningless if we don’t improve and I’m not counting on it. Today was rotten yet again and I ain’t buying this as some kind of rejuvenation

David Hanlon

Only won because he made those changes

Jim Milne

We only improve if Clement drops players who don't deserve to start. Dessers & Tavernier have been poorer in games than Scott Wright and Todd Cantwell when he was hooked in Europe, and they've still started every game. Lawrence does provide goals but is too slow. Sterling, Diomande, Kasanwirjo & Danilo provided pace and movement we've lacked all season.

Stuart

Brutal. I think David said on one of the post match pods that it won’t get toxic, it’ll just get apathetic (or similar), and I agreed. But that was toxic at points before we equalised.

Bob MacCallum

Couldn't believe the manager stood there watching the rotten Tav from the 1st minute till 70th. Should have been hooked at halftime. You wouldn't get away with playing like that in the B team. Ditto Dessers - but at least he couldn't miss that equaliser!

John leitch

Big Phil sticks with his favourites despite it needing changed That was hard going

John Smith

He’s also got to switch up his formations in my view Jim. That first half was embarrassing. Against a better team we’d have lost today. The fact we were struggling as we were against a team without a fraction of our budget was seriously worrying.

Bob MacCallum

Hope the manager noticed the boos when Tav hit one shit cross too many. Dire, dire but he captains on.

8luenose1872

That was a very good 2nd half performance and got better when tav and dessers were subbed. There will be no credit for them however coz of the calamitous 1st goal and being toothless up front and so slow in the 1st half as well as playing players who are awful week after week. It also seems Lawrence goes off injured alot when its going badly?

Derek Robertson

Rangers fans booing Rangers players is and always will be a disgrace .

Ryan Stewart

They deserve credit for the second half. Much better, particularly after the subs. This has to be a watershed moment when it comes to certain players though. We’ve been saying the same all season though, I won’t hold my breath

Robert White

I agree. For the first time I heard boos as the players came out 2nd half. But then...I lived through 9iar. Those that didn't have had 12 years of Rangers teams without a no surrender attitude . It's bled into some younger fans.

Robert White

We are Rangers. We are and demand better quality play, more aggression and passion. We expect to win.

David Hanlon

Exactly, but that's what's wrong with the team. No fight, passion or anything at times and displays like Killy and Aberdeen never good enough.

Vanb bryceter

Clement has to step up now.Its clear Tav is out on his feet the manager needs to take him out the team. I don't get why he doesn't move jefte up one get barjami in the middle and it allows sterling and kasanwirjo to play in defence We looked far stronger with those 2at the back. This result buys Clement time to the final he has to show us an upturn in performance he won't get it picking Lawrence Dessers and Tav. I'll also throw in butland has been well off it as well

Ewan Christie

Mind last season when Diomande scored absolute bangers against Hearts and St Johnstone? What’s happened to that guy?!

Jim McCutcheon

We take the win definitely some positives with certain players woeful from others, thanks guys get well soon David 👍

Luke

Kasanwirjo and souter at centre back Vs Celtic for me. We really need to sort the 10 position out.

Douglas Innes

Think the lee mcculloch reference is a great comparison..... that falkirk game only time I've booed gers/McCulloch to my shame , as it's something you'd rather not do

Jim Milne

Off topic but why no Gary Numan Theme tune anymore?

Fraser Dobbie

Good pod as usual. Don’t agree with diomande having no impact though. I thought it was night and day… yes he gave it away a few times, but he was involved in the game and he runs behind. Lawrence was a passenger again.

Jonny Burnside

Dessers won’t be a rangers striker if he lives to be 100, Lawrence is a coward, and tav is well and truly done. We’re trying to win games with 8/9 men every week. Please let this be the day the managers realises the folly of his ways, but I doubt it will be.

Ranger1972

Billy go have a lie down pal. Your anger on here is worrying. Every post you just rant and rant. Not good for your health.

Doogz

That should be the last time we see Tav Lawrence and Dessers start for us, their time is up. At half time I was envisaging a welcoming committee being at the main doors for them returning from Hampden. A woeful first half where we were a total embarrassment .

Simon H&H

For once the changes the manager made, changed the match. He can’t persist with the awful Dessers or a done Tav

Barry Kerr

Tav was terrible today but what gets missed out on the conversation around him is he has no competition for his place. Sterling can't stay fit always issues there with him and Kasanwijro is not a full back far better at centre back. As ever it comes back to recruitment that's on the club and another thing on Tav he looks absolutely drained of confidence as well.

David

If clement is still there for the final and continues to play tav then it will be a cricket score we can see maeda causing tav problems everytime but nothing ever changes

Rona Bluebell

I do hope PC is beginning to realise that sticking with the same players and a formation that doesn’t work WILL get him sacked. Let them go, or you go. Themz the rangers rules.

Stewart Robertson

David, you’re spot on about grafters - see, Stuart Munro, Alan MacLaren, Stuart McCall. The list goes on….

Amanda stewart

Not listened yet but sure will. If the penny has dropped, we go on another journey. It’s a 50/50 but worth a gamble considering.

Tamus

Please don't feel sorry for Tavernier Hes on £35K pw and He chose to stick around for a testimonial He had the chance to move He didn't

David Scott

Surely the penny has dropped for Clement with team selection, we got through today but a better team would have punished us, the league is more important , but he needs to prove he can beat Celtic in big games( The Final) if he makes it to then.

John Smith

I’ll feel sorry for Tav when he has to pay his hard earned money to go and watch this shite every week

R. Jenkins

What I found even more worrying was when we were leaving- no songs, no smiles, just resignation amongst the fans. It’s a chore watching this team even when we have qualified for another final.

Derek Robertson

Honestly appear that some on here are disappointed we won today . Too many would rather be proved right in their assessment of the manager/players beleing shite/cowards/or anything for that matter than Rangers winning

Doogz

Not something I would partake in, but understand supporters losing it when every touch is abysmal and simple passes are not being made, in fact everything the guy done was miles off, so I do understand fans snapping.

Jamiedfa

We looked so much better once Tav, Dessers and Lawrence went off. If PC cannot see that they are the root of our problems then he never will.

mark wyper

Absolutely Davie Tav dessers and Lawrence should never play for our club again the improvement in the team when they went off was better but still what I'm not happy with .

mark wyper

Absolutely spot on with the Motherwell goal Davie shocking

mark wyper

You talk about Tav saying his body can't do it anymore how hard is it to pass the ball to a team mate

C. J

Tavernier’s issue isn’t JUST physical, it’s quite clearly mental as well. He is mentally shot, he can’t control himself on the park and is constantly a bag of nerves, lacking concentration and is obviously way out of his depth as a captain at this stage. He really, really is destroying his good standing among the support.

mark wyper

Everything you said on the pod today Davie was absolutely spot on and the thing is we all have our thoughts but today you could see the players that were given everything

Bryan Watson

Team that finished the game has to be the way moving forward + an actual left winger to come in. Dessers is a lovely big guy and I don't doubt that he cares but he is beyond inept, Danilo hasn't kicked a ball consistently for a year and it was night and day. Tavernier has been a great servant for Rangers but he is so past it. Motherwell didn't do anything bar the goal, they only had to be hard working and reasonably well set up to cause us problems in the first half which has been an alarmingly common theme in most games. Danilo and Igamane have to be the striking options, Sterling has to be the RB. Thought Kasa done very well at LCB when he came on. Raskin and Cerny the standouts for me, followed by Barron and Bajrami

David Baillie

Does the manager continue to pick Tav and Dessers because A. He thinks he knows better than us and stubbornly puts them in the team. B. He truly believes that they are the best options. C. He is blindly loyal and thinks they will eventually come good. Whichever it is, these two plus Lawrence are going to get him a P45.

mark wyper

Good result but we're no winning the final

Jim Milne

Formations as you say. Other teams with a fraction of our budget have managers who know how to play against different opposition, using different formations. Clement seems to only know one formation and never deviates.

mark wyper

I think we could all see that in the 2nd half we looked balanced but we all know how Clement will play it

Craig

Felt like I could see, for maybe the first time this season, what Clement actually expects to get out of his formation/setup after the subs were made. He should have been more pragmatic with his limited options so far, but having personnel on the park physically capable of doing what he wants them to do makes some difference funnily enough.

Bixby Snyder

Just glad to get through that. I thought Barron looked good playing further forward with Raskin in behind. No need for both to hang back in games like these. (Moot side point but I'm surprised nobody has said much about consistently playing 2x DM at home/against "the dross" like we moaned about with Lundstram & Jack playing together last year, for example.) I thought Czerny was abysmal first half - kept losing the ball and it was easy to see what he was going to do - but really came on to a game second half. Motherwell shitting the bed helped. Tactically, I'm not sure what Kettlewell was trying to do second half. Maybe they just gassed in the first.

Bixby Snyder

The body language in the players really changed when Tav & Dessers came off. They started to take more risks. That says it all.

Graham Jones

I had to switch off the show after two minutes because it was just depressing me. We’re just going round in circles here with managers, and it needs to stop. I keep hearing people picking on the manager or picking on certain players in what’s a team game, and we all know who walks away without getting marked in all this; the people on this board who have destroyed everything that was built up since DAve King led a takeover against people who were wilfully destroying our club and systematically asset stripping it of anything it had of value. Look at the players they managed to recruit i s the summer, and that is the ones they could afford. It’s not what we needed, but it’s all that this board were able to scrabble together enough money to pay for. Nobody is saying he has no blame in what has been happening, but it’s got to be caveated by what he managed to do last season with a bunch of losers, and then was faced with remaining to take on a task that would frighten away anyone in football right now. It’s clear the club has to get new money invested in it, and a new set of people to run the club. i say new because there is no chance of them letting King come back, so that’s where we’re at. At the end of the day we won through to a final, so it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about Tav or Dessers.

Thomas Blair

Butland nowhere near at fault for that goal imo

Jonny Burnside

In respect of how Davey often describes what bravery in football is, Lawrence is the antithesis of this, any adversity, any sign of a challenge and he vanishes, figuratively yesterday.

Stewart Robertson

One positive is that Cerny has really stepped up.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

As stake and clunky as we are most games 3 players imo add to all of this unbalance and clunkyness Motondo Cortes Yilmaz Where the fuck are these guys AGAIN !!! We fail as a club continually by signing guys that collect wages

Brian dowie

If Cortes or matondo get fit I would play one of them wide and put bergami in the 10 role

Martin Sutherland

I thought Dio was ok. Done well for the winning goal. I think that midfield needs a run together. Barron in an 8 role was great. Hopefully see more of those late runs into the box. Cerny MOTM
