All roads led to Paris for the fairytale finale. Arsene Wenger, the most influential coach in the game without this big prize and his star player, Thierry Henry, in the form of his life were coming home to lift the big one. And for so much of the 2006 Final, it looked as if they would. How Barca won it and how Arsenal lost it are the main topics of conversation for this week's show.

Has this episode not pulled through onto Overcast for anyone else? Same happened last week with Simpsons episode.

Same issues for me on my iPod for this and doggy's hamper. Thought it was just me

Really weird. Tried it on Overcast, removed completely and readded new. Same episodes missing. Tried adding to just the Apple podcast app and same episodes missing. It’s fine I can use Patreon app for those missing episodes. Might contact Patreon support if I get a minute

Cannot believe the statement about English coaches copying continental playing styles. To ignore the masterclass of Sam Allardyce at Bolton with his long ball hoof-style along with a big target man and wee poacher. The style was later copied by Dynamo Kiev with Sergi Rebrov & Andriy Shevchenko. Joe Kinnear was an early pioneer of this style but Allardyce took it up a notch IMO. Other prestigious and tactical geniuses such as Craig Levein took it a step farther with playing zero forwards to lull teams into a false sense of security. Examples are there if you look hard enough guys. 😂 I am enjoying these pods, even if they do make me feel oldAF.

I watched this with my wife and my parents in a London pub… we happened to be ordering drinks when Barcelona took the lead toward the end and the landlord gave us the round for free…. He was a Tottenham fan who had vowed that he would buy the drinks for whoever he was serving if Arsenal went behind in the match 🤣
