Well done James must be a difficult one that.

Thanks James. A sore one yes, but somewhat cathartic in a way.

Iain Shaw

Think you're spot on about Dessers, James.

Father Frank Connor posted missing when VAR review of Rangers pen was required for referral, rumours surfacing he was away for holy water refreshments, needs shouting out every games revolving Tim’s influence outcome of old firm games

The manager was spot on to go with Diomande. Particularly After midweek when both Raskin and Diomande were excellent he was right to pick the starting 11 he did today ,tbh he got it correct. AlthoughJefte had a torrid time on the left is only negative I can see and Raskins poor decision with the back header to an injured Balagoun . However clement almost done it ! Id say that is progress for now but not forever ! Time to beat them and that must happen in January at ibrox .

Tavs got some balls he’s stepped up time and time again and he did so again today. The first pen was pressure and he showed great execution. A real Pitty about the outcome. Beyond gutted. The thing that hurts about losing cup finals is you can’t recover. It’s a lost opportunity for us.

Edit. Had mostly read comment and not heard whole Pod but…. James not aimed at you bud I take your point, but many others do blame certain players for everything! Nobody put any player in a position with pens, they decide who takes them as a team and the idea it has to be a striker, who must know by now a huge part of the fan base don’t like him, has to take it is flawed logic. Who is to say he didn’t want one and was told now by the captain or manager ? It’s pure projection from many onto a guy they already don’t like. Only Dessers, who hardly anybody thinks should get a game can be blamed for not taking a penalty, by that rationale there are a number of other cowards / wasters that are in the team as each outfield player should have got one before the keeper. We win that shoot out nobody cares who hit them, that’s simply a fact. While periods of the game we did indeed compete and compete well there were still large parts we still weren’t good enough. There were parts where Rodger’s changed things and got control to the point we simply held on and our changes again were fairly like for like. Igmane looked isolated for a lot of the game again and was knackered which is understandable after Thursday. The squad quality is better and for me that narrowed the gap but not sure the tactics were better. It’s great how we don’t have a go at Yilnaz, we should go with best penalty takers, the manager spoke about them practicing and going with the best. The blame game on Dessers is just a witch hunt and it’s a long standing one. This is a new low for projecting onto a player. The idea Dessers decided who takes the pens is laughable, “he decided not to take one” how does anyone know he just isn’t gash or hasn’t been hitting them well. The amount of air time devoted to slating Dessers just makes me switch off, it’s like a propaganda exercise. We got effort, no question but for me at least the manager still isn’t getting the best he could from this squad. Today was crying out for Barron in from the start or far earlier as a sub. Ultimately regardless of any of the factors others mention it’s another loss in a big game for a trophy. Taking three points so far behind is a poor second prize.

Some suggestions that the list of penalty takers was pre determined by the coaching staff, and Butland was ranked high enough to take the 5th kick. If that is the case, it does change context of the discussion surrounding Dowell and, in particular, Dessers. A day on, and feeling less emotional (although not exactly over it yet!) I’m less and less bothered about the shoot out situation and mainly depressed at our failure to convert the 4 v 1 chance.
