Craig Kerr

Pretty sure Kev predicted a Desmond for this.

Murray

Confusing and Frustrating from when the team was announced, just can’t see a way forward under the current management and coaching staff unfortunately.

james whyte

On Butland BTW. Came in, looked the part, said all the right things, played well for 6 months or so and then when the pressure got ramped up has looked a shadow of the man that wandered around the Trophy Room on his reveal. If anyone down south wants him for the Euro thing, sell.

David Hanlon

He needs gone and now not after we lose against them and Hibs. He hasn't a clue. We will be lucky to finish 2nd. We can't win away from home. Any other manager would be sacked. By the way we need a new keeper. Terrible in goal and will never save a penalty.

John Smith

A catastrofuck on top of a bin fire awash in sewage

John Jamieson

Butland should be dropped now. Suppose to be one of the leaders and is playing in his shell shocking 2 games in a row. As for the manager no way back for him just coming up with excuse after excuse now simply not up to the level we require

David Angus

First time I've ever saw the support unanimous at 2pm that a team sheet was a sackable offence. Some of those who started wouldn't make the bench in the Warburton days. Whether he is wanting sacked or not is up for debate but that team sheet would bring tears to a glass eye.

Colin Carstairs

It’s an absolute bin fire all over the park. One ball over the top we concede. A goalie who struggles with anything low to his left.. Midfielders who can’t control a game ever. Strikers who need 4-5-6 chances to score or hit the target. But apart from that we are good for a top 6.

Scott Stewart

I Said since cup final last year butland never saves a shot close to his body. His decesion making and kick out are woeful. Butlands deterioation started from Last seasons cup final and continued through pre season . Gers will soon by able to sell dvds of his mistakes he’s made that many ! Our Cb are woeful

SDF

Has to go and it needs to be before Thursday. If that means Alex Rae in charge then so be it, not as if we're risking facing them on the back of sacking a manager with a winning record in this fixture anyway. May as well go with Rae if the alternative is a guy with 0 wins in 6 games. If we go a goal down never mind lose the actual game the place will be toxic and the support will demand blood. For everyone's sake, he needs to be removed immediately. He's lost the support and he's losing any remaining goodwill with the self serving drivel he's dishing up post match in the media. FWIW, I don't think the guy is a bad manager but yet again we're seeing that it takes a very specific mentality to be able to handle managing in Glasgow and this guy hasn't got it. This job has eaten him alive and spat him out.

mark wyper

At the end when the players went up to the fans I honestly think the players believed that was a great comeback but the fans let them know that's not rangers standards.

Scott Tolmie

Tav at the 2nd goal, no words. By god do we miss big soutar. Damage limitation on Thursday and hopefully the manager is out the door, a dud. This manager still has his backers which is incredible, him and all his background staff need to go, a few taking a wage for doing nothing.

Jim Milne

Clements actual words "I'd be a stupid manager if I didn't listen to my staff". So what does Alex Rae say to him? Surely of all the staff we have you'd like to think Alex Rae would have had honest conversations with Clement. So it leads me to believe it's either another Clement contradiction, or he's ignoring Rae's comments because he wants the sack.

Andrew Meldrum

Seriously worried about Thursday. 1 CB is a utility player and it shows. The other is a walking bombscare. That's affecting the rest of the team, especially Butland. No chance Souttar is fit for Thursday?

Jim Milne

He says he listens to his backroom staff, so it makes me wonder what Alex Rae tells him.

Alastair Thomson Mills

Celtic have beaten us once in the league, once that’s three points. With our resources we should be beating all other teams in the SPFL. 14 points behind Celtic in December is the end. He has to go.

Scott Kerr

Clement should have already been sacked! That contract extension seems to be a bulletproof vest along with Koppens promotion too. The board have taken us back to Pedro days. Gio and Beale both got sacked for less

Brian

Not enough Scottish players to many forieng players

Colin Mathie

Surely an Ipswich, Bournemouth or Southampton are looking for a new goalie, someone please take him off our hands, hes rotten.

Graeme Glennie

Be under no illusions people. We deserved to lose today. If you think this is bad, just you wait....

aldo adens

Is it true that russel martin was at fir park today seen it said on the comments on a other rangers podcast on youtube.

Andrew Hind

Just worried now how bad things will get if Clement is allowed to carry on

Jim Milne

We will unfortunately probably find out Andrew. I don't think the board have the stomach or the cash to sack Clement.

Martin Sutherland

Its started in the 3-3 game when Southgate came to watch him. Never made the England squad and has been rotten ever since. Another figure with too much influence in our dressing room.

Jim McCutcheon

He should go now before the game against them imo, thanks guys we need change and the sooner we start the better 💁‍♂️

Luke

Hopefully we Get rid of matondo. A loan to get off the books. Cortes also poor, dowell was useless. So much money wasted this last few years. Lack of Scottish players having a huge impact on us for these types of games. Leon king should be in at CB for me to get a run of games. Can't be worse than propper.

Elaine Campbell

Honestly. What kind of media/PR team do we have that allows Tav to come out after every game to say that "we are obviously disappointed" and that "we need to learn for this and move on" 9 years he's been saying that. He (we) have learned eff all except that we have a team.of utter utter shite bags with the heart of a mouse. At a time when absent friends are so prominent in our thoughts, I'm so glad my papa isn't here to see this sorry excuse for a football club, for a team and for a leader. It would have killed him.

Gordon Smith

I haven't listened to the pod yet so apologies if it's covered ad nauseum. Today was completely unprofessional and unacceptable from top to bottom of the club. The recruitment prioritising a good deal for propper over someone suited to the Scottish game, the manager for that disrespectful and borderline insane team selection, the backroom staff who apparently don't let us play players with the net result being we've dropped points and still had awful injuries in key positions and the players who once again didn't play to the whistle and gave a gutless performance until good players came on to bail them out. Everyone associated with Rangers apart from Igamane, raskin and cerny should be absolutely ashamed of themselves today. I know the players want to chuck the manager under the bus but it doesn't make it much fun for us. A lot of this new leadership group like tav and Butland can honestly go fuck themselves.

Jim Milne

We haven't even started paying for Cortes yet. Beale's signings definitely have not helped, and I feel the next Manager will be saying the same about Clement's signings too. 4 transfer windows, about £40m of mediocrity with Sima, Cérny and Tillman the main successes and they were all loans. Igamane & Raskin seem like the only successes in 3 years, although as soon as we play away from home Raskin seems to resort back to what we seen before the "decent month" we had.

David P

Make no mistake, we're an absolute mess. This isn't just a case of getting rid of the manager and everything works out. The squad is a shambles that looks like it's been bought at a jumble sale. Look at where we where after winning 55 and look at recruitment from that point. Since the Parks and co have been at the helm they've made an unforgivable mess and put us back to almost as worse a position as we where when the 3 bears took control, squad wise.

littleboyblu

Sack Clement and we could be the only team in world football paying 4 managers, Beale, Van Bronkhorst, Clement & whoever we bring in. The club is a mess from top to bottom. Patrick Stewart really has got his work cut out for him.

Stace1ofthePeople

What an absolute bin fire we are. Didn't watch the game for the first time ever and decided to go out and enjoy my Sunday afternoon with one eye on the line up (wtf) and one eye on the scoreline.. also wtf. Can't believe we are here again its a never ending horrible cycle. Truly though is any manager actually capable of coming in and being a success? Different manager every year, same result. It must run deeper? I would take mccines tomorrow, steady ship until end of season and let's see what run of form he can put together. Tav dowell deserrs matondo king lowry propper ridvan, corte(jury's out) and a couple others all need to go and be replaced. Still a big job at hand. Genuinely can't see this being turned around in the short term future which is sickening

Scott Kerr

David what's roughly the cost in sacking him???

Jim Milne

100% correct David P. We've spent £60m since Seville to take us back to a squad that wouldn't finish 2nd in a league with a McInnis' Aberdeen team of 2017, and is only 2 points ahead of an Aberdeen team that haven't won in their last 7 games.

David Tod

Thanks guys.I’m through despair and have arrived at resignation.Anger had fucked off weeks ago.

Kevin Blyth

My alarm went off at 3.50am to get up and watch the match here in NZ. My wife said “there’s your disappointment alarm then”. Sadly, it has come to pass that I get up at sparrow fart to watch a bunch of cowards led by a clown. Not sure how the board and manager have let it get to this, but I’m utterly fed up of all this.

Jim Milne

I do get that Andrew, but I'd rather have a young Scottish player that's a rangers fan who will hopefully get better, than continuing to watch Pröpper. It's also got to be hardAF for King to see players like Pröpper & Ben Davies play ahead of him just because they cost more and get paid more.

Craig

He needs to go. He had my backing until St Mirren. The backroom staff need to go as well and get a temporary appointment until the summer.

Jim Milne

I don't even think Man City would swap him for Scott Carson right now.

Calum Downham

Spot on, dysfunctional team, dysfunctional club. The clusterfuck that is the Rangers playing squad is a direct result of years of mismanagement by those higher up who have been rightly moved on, not a thing will change unless the new guy Stewart can start to stear us in the right direction, then, and only then is when we'll see an improvement on the pitch I only hope the moronic shareholders who have squandered tens of millions of their own cash no longer have influence in the day to day, like it was even as far back as the King era and continued under Park (presume) Giving Clement the 4 year extension, at a time when the jury was out as the general support were generally discontented with the management at RFC was the final kick in the stones. Every poor result that happens on the pitch is a direct consequence of those above the manager, who have turned Rangers from a position of reasonable strength summer 21 or arguably 22 to this utter clown show that does not even vaguely resemble the standards of a club we all recognise and support Good luck Stewart

Graham Jones

Oh, the board will definitely replace him. They’ll do anything to divert the blame. The manager is working with what he could afford Ito bring in during the summer, but the board left him out to dry in the first place. We’re a joke, and it doesn’t matter who we bring in because they would face the same task and the same problem. We’d maybe get a bit of a bounce, but it would go flat again. The issue is lack of experience and quality in equal measure. Some players will become good players but they will need time, which is never on a managers side here. The lack of good experienced players is also glaring, because they can make sure the younger players see out a game. That’s led to inconsistency. We can’t complain about the choices because these are led by sports science. We either ignore it or we embrace it, and considering we weren’t using it in the period between Gerrard leaving and Clement coming in, leading to tonnes of long term injuries, then we need to go with it because every professional football club does use it. II’m not happy about the draw, but I kinda saw it coming when the board failed to deliver funds for the manager this summer. They should bring back Dave King to the board now, and give him the task of finding new investors, because I’m not sure these guys have the stomach for it anymore. They certainly don;t have the imagination in appointments or the analytical skills to trouble shoot the issues one by one. Gerrard succeeded because he got the time. Let’s face it we were star struck and wanted him to succeed. There were periods under him where things looked really bleak as well, but it was time that allowed him to turn things around.

Calum Downham

That shouldn't be a problem then, after all the wasted investment in the playing staff over the years thats a mere drop in the ocean. Half a Dessers

Dougie

Get him out!!

John McTrusty

When you look at how Lennon Miller ran the game in the first half, and add to that we have the "better young Motherwell talent", Bailey Rice in our academy, having his career stalled by our reluctance to play him, it beggars belief we are not leveraging our young Scottish talent. I will caveat what follows by acknowledging they still need to develop and prove themselves (if given a chance). On the contrary, we have given away Mayo, (both)McCrorie(s),stalled the progress of Lowry, Lovelace and King to name but a few. Youths like McKinnon and Fraser cannot be any worse that lot of the empty shirts we have. The vast majority of this group bleed blue and would contribute more even if simply by endeavour than most of our current squad. St.Mirren threw on a couple of youngsters who contributed to taking the game away from us. We are losing our identity and the traits and characteristics that come with that.

Alan Baxter

I’ve never felt this way before, i actually feel nothing. Im so turned off. Usually it would be anger, grumpy etc. Didn’t renew ST in summer which was one of the best decisions. Laughed at my brother who said he will still go on the 2nd. I know there will be others post the 2nd Jan who will turn off till the summer. What a sad way for the club to go. To just be also-rans in with Aberdeens and Utds etc. I can’t see any permanent way back. Just the odd cup run or maybe victory if Celtic get knocked out by a lucky performance by someone

David Kiltie

To be fair, whilst the playing squad is obviously not performing well, the number of injuries is far lower than it has been in recent years - I remember the absentee list was often in double figures last season. How many of those injuries were down to taking risks on players who were touch and go in terms of fitness?

Berra

Rangers fans are soft these days, we have accepted mediocrity for too long because of where we where from after 2012, my old man would be turning in his grave not just watching this team but having me accept watching them. Clement must go.

BlueJay

Never felt this down watchin us, ive just seatsubbed ma ticket for game against them. Trying to find babysitters to nake 5 hour round trip to watch this is getting harder and harder

Alan Anderson

Got up at 1:30am here in Adelaide to watch that, half expecting a dismal game. Now back up getting ready for work and I just feel numb. The worst Rangers team I can remember and I’m 58. Absolutely dreading the next game. He’s got to go, but it’s a huge fix for whoever comes in.

John Johnston

Well done on doing the pod guys not easy to do.

Heart and Hand

Didn’t Celtic win NIAR in the 70s? Did the team not go 9 years without a title to 1987? This idea that fans are ‘accepting’ it isn’t true. It’s just a way of trying to believe we have some control over something we have no control over. If anything, it’s victim-blaming.

craig drummond

I would be sounding out moyes on a 2 year deal to bring stability into the club. Hopefully stewart will know him from their time at man utd and could strike a deal.

Colin Gardner

Beating the tramps on Thursday will be the most Rangers thing ever.( I know, I know dreaming.com) I just cannot get my head round starting a player who has had zero minutes in 4 months. I swear to God I think he wants sacked picking that team. We aren't good enough to drop our best players and whether we beat them or not in the grand scheme of things means nothing.

Nikky Cairney

Should’ve be gone 2 months ago but our support got fooled by some average domestic form. Our standards dropped so low many of us thought beating Ross county and St Johnstone away and Kilmarnock at home meant we had turned a corner. Dont actually blame anyone for wanting to believe it as we have been so starved of success we will cling to anything. Personally I never seen much change tactically. The teams we beat are in the bottom 6. The difference was that he introduced Hagi and Danilo and stumbled across something. And he’s that bad of a manager he then went away from what was working and dropped 5 points in two games. He’s been a fucking disaster. An unlikeable arrogant fraud. If the new ceo doesn’t sack him tonight or tomorrow then he can fuck off aswell.

Gordon

Totally agree - needs benched to refocus - or accept any reasonable >£8m offer we can get for him

Gordon

Agree with asking the question but there is zero chance of him taking the job

James Kenny

After the debacle against St Mirren Jack Butland should have been dropped and yet he plays again. Proper, rightly booked, runs the chance of a second yellow, school boy error at first goal. Dowell starts with Cortes who's been out since August. Matondo, his only asset is pace and yet he didn't use it once. Brendan Rodgers and MacGregor will swagger into Ibrox expecting it to be a skoosh. It's very hard to take.

Gordon

We make ‘temporary “ appointment and they do well … win SC … do we then make them permanent… maybe P Stewart stumbles into the shower and has a P Lawwell moment

Stephen

Problem is, if you want someone worthy of replacing him you will probably have to pay that figure again. Out of work managers are usually out of work for a reason.

Colin Gardner

£6M Danilo £4M Dessers £4M Diomande £4M Cortes £3M Barjami £4M Ridvan That lot got 3 Japanese for £7M. That's some amount of pish we have not contributing and I've not even mentioned the wages Our scouting department should be just scraped along with Clement

Jim Milne

I almost wrote that earlier Colin. Do we even have scouts or is it just Koppen looking on the Transfermarket app? Bernabeu their 3rd choice full back has a buy clause after his loan finishes for £7m! Then add up the £60m from just after Seville until now. If it was any other business the board would be accused of money laundering when it's clearly gross mismanagement.

Hendi

What does "not accepting it" actually mean? How do we "refuse it" exactly?

Hendi

In the short time King played he went off at half time because he was sick, another sub because he had cramp and then his final appearance got "concussion" from being knocked on the shoulder. He doesn't seem like he's got the mental toughness for it.

David

Let's keep signing foreign projects. Amazing.

Colin Gardner

It's scary and laughable at the same time. They got Kuhn for the same amount of money we payed for Matondo. Let that sink in! He's worth double figures now where Matondo is worth about as much as 2 wham chews! I swear to God anyone on here could scout better players than what our so called DOF has brought in. Boakin

David_Davy_Dave

Jack Butland is a myth. Rangers fans want to believe we have this lineage of Woods, Goram, Klos, McGregor and now Buttland It ignores a fair amount of dross, a coupe of short term gems and Buttland’s inadequacies. Did anyone think genuinely he was saving a penalty in the LC Final? Get money for him and move on. Kelly is fine for the rest of this season

Craig

Winning the SC would be good but right now even that looks a massive ask. The point by having a temp manager gives us more time to get the right appointment in at the start of the season, we can’t keep appointing manager’s half way through a season getting a bounce then it all going to crap over and over again. We need to stop the cycle.

Doogz

Was hoping to hear he had been sacked by now. Time for the new guys to make their mark and get this over and done with. We are a shambles and Butland needs removed for his own good, have been having flashbacks of big McCloys howlers back in the day, guy is a riot.

David Innes

Agree Butland was hugely overhyped last season but if he is sold we need to replace him. Kelly is nowhere near good enough and would probably be our worst number 1 since Cammy Bell

Craig

Has anyone called the team Iggy and the stooges yet? You can have that one.

alisdair arkless

Not much else I can add to what you have both said, shocking today but not a surprise when you seen the team selection,

Jordan McKay

Gio was sacked more than a week into the international break and Beale’s sacking wasn’t announced until more than 36 hours after the Aberdeen debacle. If the club makes a move I’d expect an announcement tomorrow.

Alastair McGeoch

Clement talks shite before and after games. Picking the team based on sport science and then putting the players on to rescue his job. Then saying he has faith in VAR after yet more debatable decisions. On the handball - ffs question it, the Butland dissalowed goal make the point “it was good enough for Joe hart in the Scottish cup final so glad to see some consistency” but…no…He is not good enough, we will not be successful under him. He needs fired. Was also great to see our Captain out with his greatest hits again…obviously dissapointed…we need to learn from this…we will not win another trophy whilst Tavernier remains at the club. A serial loser.

Craig

Cant take anymore sport science 😞

JimGLW

Clement's form for this calendar year has been criminal. Look at the return we are getting from the fortune he has spent. To battle it out with Aberdeen? Clement is nothing at all we need from a manager. And the gibberish from his interviews has been a constant for months.

Colin Mathie

He should be gone before Thursday. So what, we beat the tims, we'll still be 11pts behind, his time is up!

CJT

Ibrox might full on Thursday, but that lot take the lead early the fan reaction will be something even those in the squad used to the heat will not have encountered. The whole situation is really disappointing. Backed the manager through a difficult summer and autumn, moved to being agnostic by mid-November to wanting him gone from LCF onwards. I get it was best performance from us in a while but the feeling that if we can’t win that one we’re winning nothing under this guy was cemented from that point for me (awful officiating accepted but equally awful decision making from us at key points cost us a trophy. End of). If he doesn’t go now and the much touted view we can’t afford to do it, or now lesser said he’ll come good prevails, I fear it will be a very difficult rest of 24/25. Don’t envy the decision makers their next steps or even know what they should do now. Only thing I really know for sure is PCs results domestically since March, particularly away from home, should see any Rangers manager removed from post.

Delgers

Our whole club is full of charlatans who don't deserve the honour of being at our club. That goes from the boardroom down to our hall of famer captain via the management/recruitment team! Absolutely scandalous thr state we have been allowed to get into again!!

Alan Anderson

Yes I did, and this lot are the worst, half of them wouldn’t get into our 80’s team

David_Davy_Dave

Nice and all that followed was sadly a dead cat bounce

Scott Franklin

Butland is fortunate we don’t have a Neil Alexander level keeper on the bench. If we did, I’d drop him without thinking twice.

Andy Forgrieve

That's my biggest concern too. If we had new investors and let's say 50 million magically appeared for us to invest in the squad, I'd have absolute no confidence that we'd spend it wisely!

Callum

Lack of Scottish players hurts us on away days in the SPFL. Not even sure it’s a winter thing… as we were pish away from home in spring and autumn too. It’s clearly not something we have prioritized on recruitment side for a while now, and for me it’s the biggest reason we outperform in Europe and underperform domestically regardless of the manager.

Michael

I'm a glass half full Rangers man! And aye he has to go NOW and aye before the old firm game!

John Palmer

Wrong starting line up. Dessers is Horrendous, Propper is so Shit it's unbelievable. Why is Leon King not being utilised? Cortes is nowhere near ready and was miles off it. Igamane and Cerny proving once again how pivotal they are to this Team. Butland needs dropped as he's making way too many bad decisions which could've cost us if VAR didn't overturn Watt's header, you could he was going to score from that set piece and Clancy should've booked him after blowing for the foul as he warned him 30 seconds before VAR interviened. All in all, a Piss Poor showing and 5 pts dropped in the last 2 games which makes an absolute mockery of our Club.

Kris Hendry

A week ago we went 9 points behind. We’ve played 2 games since they dropped points. The usual gutlessness from this team. Time to go Clement, am sure he is trying to get sacked with these line ups.

Jack Beatson

Butland definitely needs dropped, think we need to look at brining more physical scottish talent in. Setting up for Europe when we are getting embarrassed in the league isn't working. The leagues our bread and butter. Would rather be winning leagues and not progressing in Europe. Hope we never see dowell in a rangers top again

Gordon Watson

100%. One title since 2010-11. Not good enough in a small league where we have financial advantages over all but one other club.

Gordon Watson

Totally agree. Our recruitment and our expenditure on talent resembles a jumble sale alright. The J League is a superb non-traditional market to shop in and we need to rip up and start over our local player development recruitment policy.

Allan Osborne

He drops players so as to leave them available for the OF game which leads to 5 dropped points, meaning that OF game is even more meaningless (and it is in the grand scheme of things) than it was before, and largely all on the advice of sports scientists it seems. He's a crank! How the hell have we got ourselves here AGAIN?! This is ultimately the blame of an incompetent, dysfunctional Board and I am sick of it.

George Harrison

Not sure why “it isn’t a foul” … hand / arm is on Butland’s shoulder preventing him from getting off the ground or at least allowing him to make a better ‘fist’ of it. It’s a clear foul.

chris smith

You simply cannot expect to win professional football matches (at any level) with a goalie shit out of form and no competent cbs …. football becomes a very easy game to play when you can pack the defence and then shell garryowens forward to the 3 jellies in the Rangers rearguard. Clement should go but the issues run deeper than his bumbling. Losing Soutar, Balogan and Kasa has absolutely killed us. You could field the Brasil 1970 team but if they had me and my mate Boab as cbs they get beat every time.

Derek Stevenson

If Hamza Igamane cannot start three games in a week (which he can) at 22 years of age then when the flying f… will he be able? Sack the Sports Science, play your strongest team and be 2 or 3 up then bring the diddys like Dowell, Dessers and some others on. 1 point, 2 points from the next two games with this pitiful attitude matches with low ability, on the pitch and dugout and the Board will have to act. 11 points from 27 points away from home, it is abysmally poor.

Derek Stevenson

Criminal that we put out in the public domain in the summer that Butland wouldn’t be sold. They should’ve been actively trying when he was an asset to us. We will never learn. Player trading? Nobody within the rooms of “power” has a clue.

Jamiedinho

I'm not convinced the board will get rid even after more poor performances, he was given an extension because we've cut playing costs and we were frightened he was going for the Belgium job. We have been rotten since March and apart from a few weeks of a purple patch nothing is changing. Manager is terrible, tactics are terrible and the squad is terrible. The amount of money that Butland is supposed to be on aswell is terrifying for how bad he actually is. I think it takes a proper Celtic scudding for him too go tbh

KAD87

There’s almost no point in sacking him in my opinion. It’s the Neil Lennon Covid season at ibrox. We will finish 2nd regardless so he’ll get the rest of the season. It doesn’t help a new manager to come in until the summer.

Scott

Surly his style of play is better than no style of play like we have at this moment in time.

Scott

Do you honestly know Rangers fans that are accepting this? You must be in the minority if you do I can assure you not one person at the game yesterday was a remotely accepting it.

Andrew Lees

I agree but having watched the highlights of Palace vs Southamton, Palace equalised with a more blatant foul on the goalkeeper and VAR awarded the goal.

Martin Davies

Managers shouldn't lose their job because of a run of a few bad results. It happens to every manager from time to time and clubs shouldn't make knee jerk decisions that cost millions and basically write off a season. But when it gets to the stage that people are saying he has 1 or 2 games to save his job, it's already gone too far. He needs to go.

Phil Morrison

No surprise that Butland is shaky when he has a terrible defence in front of him. When is Souttar back ?

Douglas Innes

we're in a worse place now than at any point since Warburton , from starting 11's to barmy press conferences ( which i only read about as i stopped after his 3-0 parkhead defeat ) , my only worry is that we're in such a bad state that we can't sack him and that we have to be " that bad " that Clement then realises its then harming his own reputation for him to leave

Doogz

What exactly has Rae done in coaching to suggest he has what it takes to succeed at Rangers?

Graham McIntyre

Side point but - our fixtures over this Christmas period are horrendous mainly all away - look at the Tim’s fixtures all home bar v us- is that really a coincidence

Alastair McGeoch

Clement is not the man, the wheels came off last season and he’s been unable to do anything about (in fact I think he’s made it worse). Yes, the clubs a bonfire off the park but has he spent the money he’s been given wisely? Not in my opinion. And to keep jibbering on about sports science and integrating players and time being needed etc frankly it’s all bullshit. He’s trying to convince us he’s cleverer than he is. Football at its heart is a relatively simple game. The aim is to have your 11 best players on the park in as many games as possible with clear instruction/formation. As the pod says, Gio was out for way less with a lot more credit in the bank. The harsh reality is we could be staring down the barrel of a third 9 in a row for them. Likely, we won’t do much this transfer window, a new manager comes in the summer and with the overhaul in the squad required we are probably looking at 2-3 transfer windows which means they are likely going for 6 in a row by the time we are back on some sort of even keel….IF and it’s a big IF we get the next managerial appointment right.

Jeb

I've been saying it all season (even in the games we have played "well"), shell-ball to no-one isn't working. It's embarrassing having to deploy that against St. Mirren is nothing short of embarrassing. We had a few games there where i thought we saw some coaching improvements. Saw defensive traps and pouncing/pressing as a team, 1 touch chance creation, finishing. No more. Bang average team worth less than 1/2 of what we are paying out. Lucky if we have 3 sellable assets.

I think the manager has to go. So I was speaking to someone at my place of work who is also a senior member of another SPFL teams “dugout support team” we were talking about clement (was after St Mirren game) he said “clement is a weird guy, and he’s not well liked by the players or staff at the club (rangers). Make of that what you will, certain performances would back that up, however the extended contract, wouldn’t back that up.
