Morelos and Igamane would wreck this league. Katic is better than anything maybe bar Sterling and that is a damning indictment on the shitshow we are being subjected to at the moment.Such a promising start to the year feels like a lifetime ago now so so poor

Before Katic got injured, he was a strong CB who was good in both boxes. I agree he could be rash and suspect positionally. However, he was constantly played on the left side of defence despite being right-footed. We've seen Souttar improve when moved to his favoured side, so there's definitely something to consider there. Some of his performances were excellent, the one that always comes to mind was against Legia Warsaw at Ibrox where he was immense against a decent side in a tight game. I've not watched him but the Swiss league is at a decent level and at 28, I would expect we're getting a different player than the one we signed as a 21-year-old. We should be considering this IMO, though as I've previously said; We need pace, height and ball-playing ability but unfortunately, that might be beyond both our budget and scouting ability. I'll also add that this situation highlights the recruitment failure of the last 3 or 4 seasons by not improving on both Hellander and Goldson who were signed almost 6/7 years ago.

Katic on loan would be decent but still think we should be looking for another defender on loan and then start planning for next season in defence. I can accept short term signings based on where we are right now however koppen does need to make sure we do have long term plans in place!

I think we need 2 CBs. The only 2 we have worthy of the shirt are Souttar and Balogun and both of them are too unreliable injury-wise.

Heart ruling the head on Katic, I'd love to see him again. If he hasn't learned to either carry the ball out or play a decent long pass though, I don't see how he could be a success long term.

Lots of good memories of him, also got some not so nice ones of Stevie May running him ragged and Celtic completely shutting down our passing game by trapping him and Flanagan in possession.

The manager says he’s big on youth development. He put 20yo mcausland in, ticked that box and moved on. He’s just the latest in a long, long line who bin home grown.

Katic was miles better than he got credit for, another younger guy who was given zero coaching or chance to develop before being emptied in favour of guys who had half his attributes. Would have him back in a heartbeat. Kent nope.

Personally, I wouldn't sign a centre half this window (and yes I know we need one, possibly three come the Summer) unless a too good to be true possibility arises. Any new signing wont be able to play in Europe until the knockout stages. That being the case I'd be hopeful of Balogun and/or Souttar being fit by then. Also, we talk about giving youth a chance. So do it. We pay them good wages, especially in King's case. Let's see this as an opportunity: can Clement show he can coach young guys to do a job domestically when needed and can they stand up when given the chance? We need to find out, otherwise it is pointless them being here. I appreciate we will more than likely sign someone as a stopgap, but if the Board have any doubts about Clement's future then they shouldn't be signing players for the short term.

On the subject of Leon King not playing much football. Financially, is it more astute for Leon to be under contract but not selected than to play every game for the like of Motherwell?

Torn between bringing in players who have been here before & the desperation we currently have… Is Katic the answer probably no but to have someone who can actually attack & header a ball would be an automatic upgrade. Is the manager here to see his contract out or is he here till the Belgium fa final decide who the replacement is. What a position we have landed ourselves in as a club.

No one is taking Dowell off our hands if he doesn’t show anything on the park. He probably gets minutes in the off chance he does something good and someone sees it and wants to buy him. Agree that more young players should get a chance though. Is Lovelace out of contract soon? Usually people are moaning that guys with no intention of staying are getting game time.

Great result for the B team. Also on this occasion that lot don’t have the excuse of “the Huns played 1st team players”. I notice neither King nor Nsiala were involved yesterday so must be in the 1st team squad for tomorrow.

Well done to the b team keep it up would like to see some of our youth getting the chance to play for us maybe at the end of some matches we are winning to give them the taste of what could come if you play well...as for a new defender please let him be tall and strong..other teams defenders look like giants compaired to us...laughed at your comment about meeting fans all over the world ..my son and I had booked a boat to take us out to swim with turtles in Barbados..other boats took 40 at a time but this company was more private 4 max..so we arrived at the boat to meet the other couple..sitting wearing their Rangers tops...they had seats close to where David is while we are in club deck..we had a great day..the 2nd one was crazy..we were at the Menin gate waiting to see the ceremony ..it was really cold so we went into the cafe next to it..sat down and simply the best started playing..my son looked at me but I had nothing to do with this..anyway we found out the owner was Rangers mad...yes we are everywhere.

If we got one on loan until the end of the season who is good in the air and physical then its only a good thing. Won't break the bank and will help us in all the ways David pointed out and they are key points for us in the long run, next season for definite.

Thats shite mate, lovelace, curtis, mckinnon or rice would offer more than dowell for sure and a few others would too. Clement just talks pish regarding his apparent rep for using youth. In the small bits some of the younger guys have had under him there was nothing for him to justify binning them the way he has especially when other players have shown utter pish but still get chances.

They would offer more than Dowell. Thats not the point I am making. If we want rid of Dowell he will have to show something on the pitch to get teams interested. If not, we are stuck with him on a high wage for another few years. I would rather we played youth players too.

I'd have Katic back at Rangers no problem. I'm 50/50 with Kent, 50 = Yes, he's an attacker and dangerous when he runs at Defenders. 50 = the way he left the Club wasn't ideal especially with the amount we paid to get him and also, we have Bajrami, Hagi and Jefte who can all play in his position.

Katic- and other ex players. Us resigning old players comes from both sides. Players obviously love playing for Rangers. When they move on they realise what they had. We often, to see it as a negative but perhaps it shows how different we are, how appealing it is to play for the Famous!
