Greg Cameron

I'm pretty sure I read that one of the league victories he nearly made a complete arse of after being in a commanding position.

Ross Stirling

I made a bit of a joke comment on FF about how Clement could go to West Ham when they sack Lopetegui, but the more I thought about it, and your discussion on how his best results are when we are the underdog, it wouldn't be out the realms of possibility that he could go to a smaller club in a bigger league and be somewhat of a success. There's so much more to being the manager here that he clearly can't handle, regardless of anything

Rick

I can't believe you are advocating bringing on dowell

Greg Cameron

Not slaughtering at all. Just pointing out how eerily similar it was to our collapse last season.

Iain Campbell

At that time in match, he would have brought more energy than an exhausted Dio. Limited options

Hendi

Standard doomsday preview where everything is viewed through the worst possible lens. For months all we heard was how the manager had "never passed a test, he needs to beat Celtic!"; beats Celtic and now it's meaningless... Last week "sports science is running the show"; this week "the players were tired he should have brought on....Dowell". "Nobody can survive this record"; despite him having exactly the same points average as Stevie G in his first season.

Stuart McColl

I think personally it seems like doomsday because we are 13 points off the top of the table and have won 4 away games since last February.

Hendi

You're confusing 'progress' with 'success'. The definition of progress is 'development towards an improved or more advanced condition'. That doesn't change whether it's at Rangers, Real Madrid or Albion Rovers. Success is subjective and differs dependent upon expectations. I've not argued that we have been successful.

Ross

Absolutely agree with Ian on us being far too reliant on agents bringing us propositions

Lance Grant

This should be renamed the sack Clement show. I'm an hour and 25 in and the title of the show is not quite the content.

Andrew Hadden

I agree with much of what you are saying Hendi about how we measure progress. Let’s dig into some stats. I think there are a lot of rose tinted views of how great Rangers were previously at beating minnows when in fact their current points average of 2 points per game is no worse than it was in some title winning seasons such as 7 in a row in 1994/95 (69 points in 36 games with only 60 goals scored and 35 conceded). Even in the 9 in a row season, bearing in mind Rangers took the full 12 points off Celtic, how good was our record versus the other teams that season? Answer = 5 draws and 6 defeats so that’s 11 games with points dropped vs the “jobber teams” in one of our most famous seasons ever. The difference now is we have a Celtic team that simply don’t drop points, which has possibly only been seen twice during my lifetime (in 2002/2003 when McLeish pipped O’Neill to the title and in Rodgers Invincible season). If you are up against that record, obviously there is a risk of falling way behind even with a decent win record. Speaking of which I think Clement’s Rangers win percentage is the same as Walter Smith (around 64%) yet people remember Rangers as sweeping all opposition aside in both of Walter’s spells. We won more trophies certainly but not more games. Celtic have just had one of their most successful calendar years ever, losing only two games in all competitions (vs Hearts after a dodgy red card and vs Dortmund) and on course to make it to Champions League knockout stages (admittedly not difficult in revised setup!). Just playing Devil’s Advocate/Advocaat there. Obviously I acknowledge Walter Smith is the best Rangers manager ever (with 1992/93 being the best season) and Dick had perhaps the second best team I have seen (in 2000) however statistically over their Rangers careers they weren’t much different to Phil Clement or even, whisper it, Michael Beale!

Hendi

Cheers for that Andrew, not sure many will let the facts get in the way of their group think, but we live in hope!

Hendi

Comparing points accrued, to dismiss the continually regurgitated "nae Rangers manager survives this..."; despite the fact plenty Rangers managers have indeed "survived this". Keep deliberately missing the point to fit yer agenda though .

Kev Armstrong

The only real comparison is the fact we won the league in those years so nothing much else matters. You can dress it up however you like but Rangers is about winning trophies.

Jamie Mann

Great show. No BS excuses like we get constantly from the manager

Graeme Price

To me, just his comments on Hagi never playing again was a major red flag. If he does that publicly, think about what happens we don't know. He's not fit to coach Rangers. Oor Ten Haag!

Zander Staff

The agenda of Rangers winning trophies is the most important thing to the fans, club, players etc then that’s an agenda I will very happily push.

Hendi

That "agenda" won't be achieved by ignoring progress, refusing to accept the reality of the current situation, choosing to interpret everything in the most negative way possible and throwing the toys out the pram because it's not happening right at this very moment. It will push it further in the distance.

Andrew Orr

Very negative show. Think it's poor to criticise the manager for defending the club about refereeing decisions. I don't think the Hibs one was a penalty, plenty others think it was. However, this isn't a decision in isolation. We're just off the back of an OF game where McGregor got away with a red card and Johnston was allowed to elbow our players in the back of the head. Motherwell goal that could have been disallowed for handball. Non penalty award in the LCF. Shafted in the SCF last season. 0 league penalties this season, 4 against. It's far too easy for referees to give decisions against us so at least the manager is trying to challenge this without the help of a lot of fans and ex players. Look at Rodgers reaction after they rightly got red card and penalty given against them vs Hearts. Went after Beaton and refs scared to give decisions against them.

Hendi

Tempting but id rather not have every social media post I've ever made reviewd by some tabloid.

Kev Armstrong

The offer is always there. We like having other opinions but there’s very few people on your side of things. If you change your mind just let me know. Can use a fake name or call you strider 😁 But if you do want to come on just let us know.

Hendi

But I know most of you are all advocates of the "we pay our money, we're entitled to let them know what we think" approach when it comes to the team, so assume it's the same for listeners. 🙂

Kev Armstrong

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I hope you are right and next year you can say “told you so” as we romp to a treble.

Graeme Homer

On the four men at the front post, I take it we don’t watch much football outside of Rangers. It’s nearly common practice now as most teams try to copy Arsenal and Liverpool and that’s how you counter it in the box and you leave three up top. Also statistically most balls go to the first man section of the box, so you should be looking to defend that area the most. Also on criticism on the ref is pointless and didn’t get them any motivation why? He was awful and it was never a penalty, most ex pros and refs are saying that it wasn’t, so when do we complain when decisions don’t go our way? Or do we bend over and accept the handicap? The hibs players have said the pen gave them a boost and without that they were never getting back into the game.

Craig Fryatt

I think you would offer a wonderful insight. Do you have Twitter, your views intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter

Hendi

Fair play to you all for putting yourselves out there. I'm no wanting to be disrespectful, which I probably have crossed over into defending my view. The constant negativity across FF, X, etc just winds me up. It's got to the stage instead of enjoying the recent OF win because its getting one over them, my initial thought is getting it right up fellow Rangers fans who will be deprived of anything to moan about for a few days.

Steven Harrigan

Hibs have been putting them in that area for a while, see Hearts game and early in our game vs them as an example. While loading to stop front post runners might have been effective vs Celtic as they have Scales who is good at that contact, vs Hibs, where they line their best defenders up centrally isn't.

Grant Sneddon

At the end of the day, we all want the same thing which is a successful Rangers side. Debate and difference of opinion is always welcome and what makes this platform great as it doesn't venture into name calling etc.

Andrew Orr

I think missing Butland, Tavernier, Souttar, Balogun, Kasanwirjo and Sterling was a factor.

Steven Harrigan

Yes, but didn't we adjust our SP set up, maybe not have 4 on thr FP, Ridvan in no man's land, so one ball takes out 5?

Steven Harrigan

Did McGregor really get away with a red card? Motherwell also had a 'goal' rulled off Dio not even booked for the foul that led to the first show, hardly a conspiracy. Standard of officials is poor, but let's not use that as an excuse for our away form

Andrew Orr

Yes if Raskin gets booked then so should McGregor. 2 yellows = red. Dio not getting booked hardly a game changing decision. I wasn't raising it as an excuse. I was backing the manager for trying to stand up for the club.
