Hoggy and Tess follow on from last week - to examine the yo yo nature of football emotions. Do the feelings from this time last week still stand?

And of course they do - perhaps a little tempered.

From the board room, to the management team, to the player's mentality and temperament. What do you think about the discussion?

Enjoy. If you want to come on the show, hoggy@heartandhand.co.uk.

What are the thoughts on this? It’s a bit whacky but you might see where I’m going with this. Let’s say Clement gets snapped up for another job in the coming weeks, whether it be Belgium or otherwise. Do you think a move for former manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who is now a free agent after being sacked by Besiktas, would be a sensible short-term appointment to the end of the season? Pros: 1) He would be a cost effective appointment as he is out of work. 2) He knows how to set up a team for playing in Europe, which is all we have left to play for this season. 3) He will be highly motivated as he loves the club and will want to give his managerial reputation a boost by guiding us on a European run. With a view to getting a good job in the summer under free agency. 4) He has a history of developing talent and helping them flourish on the European stage i.e. Calvin Bassey, Ryan Kent. If he did something like that with Bajrami, Danilo, Cortes or Igamane then we could make a small fortune off them. Cons: 1) Has already failed as a manager of the club and many will see it as a step backwards. 2) Might not be able to get the fans on-side domestically. I’m not saying this is how I would play it if I was the CEO of Rangers but it is certainly a tactic I could see the club trying to make the most of the European campaign. Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Interim would definitely be the way to go in my opinion, whether Gio would be interested after how he was treated is another matter.

Chris Wight

I agree interim is the way forward, 100%. I didn’t consider how he was treated when he left, however I would hope that the new CEO would be able to make a good impression on him.

We need a defence refresh. There is a team there. We hark back to the Souness revolution and maybe forget that Cooper, McCoist, Durrant, Ferguson etc were already there and finished fifth the season before. It was a fresh defence that turned it around and allowed them to shine.

Ross Mcfarlane

Doesn’t Hagi have another year after this one? I thought he did.

Interim chat is madness Does anyone really think we have a better chance of progressing in Europe with an interim v Clement He will go at the end of the season. Shake hands. Decent manager but not the man to win us a league

Pod becoming a bit of an echo chamber re Clement. Do we have any podders, other than Hoggy when he’s playing devil’s advocate, willing to put forward a case for him? I think there is a reasonable argument that at least some of his “excuses” are valid and but for some unfortunate injuries, and some very dodgy refereeing/VAR decisions we’d have a cup already and be a few (if not several) points closer to that lot. Several podders saying they can see us winning a cup but in the same breath wanting Clement out and an interim manager in. Let’s remember it’s Clement’s Rangers you think are a good cup team so you need to park that ambition as well if he goes. He’s not going anywhere so let’s back the guy. Plus for those demanding change we have literally just appointed a new CEO and Chairman - that seems like a pretty big change so can we give them a chance? The Board aren’t going to sell the club (and we should be grateful that it shall stay in the hands of fans).

Stegz

I’d change that to loveD the club (emphasis on the past tense). He was well and truly f*cked over. I wouldn’t come back if I was him.

JimGLW

Rangers maybe winning the odd cup isn't good enough though. We're not St.Mirren.

Why do people never seem to remember a player under contact has to also agree to leave; Butland didn’t want to go, so you can’t just say “we should have sold him to Forest when we had the chance”. It’s not that simple

Moody Marco

Can we please stop constantly thinking towards ex players who have zero credentials, just because they’re ex players?

Stegz

I agree. I didn’t say it was. I said people expected us to win the cup. I’m not sure we do that with an unproven interim manager.

My first game was the 20th of January 1996. I still have the ticket sub and match program.

I have stopped and started this over the whole weekend...didnt want to miss a single bit..you two are brilliant its like sitting in your living room gabbing to all your Rangers pals...thanks guys...we will march on.
