Jamiedinho

Hopefully the chat from fans that Butland is good can stop now, been a liability ever since he got ignored by England

greg sutherland

I am absolutely gutted, so close to a historic result. If Dessers had started crying I was a goner

Duncan Hegan

The first ever Rangers player to score a goal against Manchester United in a competitive fixture is Cyriel Dessers. He will hold this record until the end of time.

BlueJay

Surely shagger has had at least 100 sons who can take the gloves

Alan Stewart

Absolutely gutted. A threadbare squad against a team costing in excess of 300m. Our goalkeeper really concerns me. Yes, he saved us from a hiding in the first half, however, a brain fart is just round the corner with Butland. He in no way justifying the wage he is picking up. We must actively look to punt him in the summer.

Miguel Sanchez

Ridvan on the right is no longer working since bamboozling celtic. Bajrami is half hearted in almost everything he does if the rumours are true and he's unhappy get him shifted and how many times is butland going to have a howler before we have to consider if one of our highest paid players should be one of our most inconsistent? Some very decent decent performances and cameos from the youngsters should get much more game time for the rest of the season.

John Smith

I think that’s a performance to be proud of given the opponent and our threadbare squad

Alan Weir

Surely we give Rice, Curtis, Nsiala et al the rest of the season to prove their worth, gain experience and prepare for the next few years? The strategy of giving them 5-10 minutes here and there against the SPL dross was proved ridiculous tonight. Let them sink or swim, especially if the alternative is Dowell, Bajrami and the “made of glass” treatment table merchants.

Jim McCutcheon

So near a decent draw two bad mistakes but overall a really good performance, we are a threadbare squad but the young players done well, jefte sleeping unfortunately, injuries again isn't good tbh, gutted but Sunday is a big game for us , thanks guys

Andy MacArthur

Jack Butland has had more howlers in his 18 months at Rangers than Shagger had in two spells. We should have cashed in last Jan when stock was high. Bailey Rice looked a touch of class in midfield. Don’t slowly bed him in just play him - he is good enough. Dessers is either prime R9 or Sebo, either way I wouldn’t be selling him without a replacement ready. Lots to be proud of, just a shame we lost due to individual errors.

Linda Mackay

Imagine what we could achieve with a few more quality players and having more players who can stay fit for longer! It’s time for our club to finally get its act together and find the money to back the manager (Clement or not) and stop the club from across the city getting everything their own way! This has gone on for too long domestically. What we’ve achieved in Europe has been almost miraculous but it’s time to change the tide in Scotland, please Rangers 💙

David Kerr

Jefte 21 King 21 Barron 22 Igamane 22 Rice 18 Mccausland 22 Curtis 18 Whether or not Clement stays, we can't find ourselves to be in such a threadbare state in Europe again. Fantastic effort from the young lads, let down by two individual howlers.

David

Rice should be playing as much as possible for the rest of the season, no reason not to play him

Alan Thomson

Bajrami not doing enough for me since he came in! Seems to be playing with no confidence at all, or just doesn’t want to be there!

Andrew Mathieson

Said the same thing about Butland. Don’t think he is worth his wage at this point would be looking to move him on

Jim Milne

Very proud considering the 11 that played the 2nd half. It's a shame it's taken injuries for the youngsters to get their chance. They've shown more desire than others and where we are in the league this season they deserve more 1st team action no matter who is fit.

Jim Milne

Proof once again that we have to let wallets rule our heart. When forest bid £10m we should have sold him. I know it's hindsight but we seem to continually misjudge the best time to sell sellable assets

John Marshall

Jack Lukic anyone? He's fell off a cliff since halfway through last season. Same as McGregor did when he started to go.

Haining84

Tav was outstanding in the second half.

Duncan Hegan

Correction: if a player on loan is still counted as a Rangers player, then it’s Sam Lammers.

Mr J K Murray

agree, but this hype over age is bit misplaced in life, Sitz Im Leben, they are not going over the top in trench war like our British brethren did in WW1, it is well paid work, lol, some of my happiest days are now of complaining in the last decade, in watching us just fall over, a mess, yors eschatological judge

Alastair McGeoch

Was at the game and was gutted at the end. Great finish by Dessers. Has been a lot of debate about how dessers can’t be trusted in the big games, for me the same applies for Butland. Has conceded poor goals every time he has faced Celtic and has now developed a habit for regular howlers! That said, I think we got away with one with their disallowed goal. Apart from looking after the ball a bit better, I’m not sure we could have done much more in the game and probably a shade unlucky at the end to come away with nothing.

Jim Milne

Taking Butland's form before his injury into account and Kelly's form since he came in, I thought it was very harsh that Kelly was dropped. Kelly also seems to have more accuracy kicking out long balls too, and we missed that tonight to take some pressure off when playing out.

Graham Leatherbarrow

Player trading turning down 15 million from Forest for formerly Super Jack gets more expensive game by game

Brian McLatchie

100% on Butland, errors crept in almost immediately from when despite the hype he never got in the England Squad

Scott Stewart

Good performance. , very proud, we did ride our luck and did well to stay in the game at times. However ,Butland is a liability, howler after howler. He’s hollow. How many Goals have went straight through him! There’s also Many positives, tav rice , igname Raskin performances were excellent! I don’t think we are too far away from being a proper decent side! We just can seem to see games out at times. Like spurs , hibs , st Mirren etc! Young players switching off! Overall we’ve Got to be happy we never got embarrassed

Graham Jones

We didn;t get away with one at the goal. There’s a difference between pushing a player. Which Dessres did not do, and going touch type with someone for awareness. The ref saw that the contact is minimal , so it wasn’t a push at all. Some referees know the difference between a push and a touch, unlike Scottish referees.

Scott Stewart

If the truth be told both Jefte and Ridvan are as much as a defensive liability as tav has been over the years. However both won’t reach Tavs numbers of assist and Goals from open play , both are decent in possession and going forward but neither can truly defend. The First goal comes from Ridvan mistakes that leads to a corner ! Then A Butland holwer and the second Jefte sleeping. And not for the first time . Wee need a new defence for next season from goalie to Cb and two new fullbacks! Build from the back. We just lack the defensive ability and grit to see big games out at times

Alan Ferguson

Butland is now reminding me of McGregor past his best - need to punt him in summer as downward spiral only going to get worse. Kelly is not the answer so we’re going to have to find a new option to bring in

Glyn Davies

Spot on point Scott, what worries me is the sheer amount of players we need to bring in this summer......Sterling & Balogum are unreliable for fitness, Ridvan will probably be sold, Tav needs replaced, Propper isn't great domestically, & we dont know how Soutar will be when he returns either, hoping it wont be the start of another Soutar injury run.....potentially need to bring in 2 RBs, 3 CBs & a LB.......we also need to look at RM too, Cerny will be gone & I do like Mccausland but he isn't good enough to be the first choice RM so there's another position that needs addressed.....that's a lot of money needing spent

Stace1ofthePeople

Unlucky not to nick a point. My God man U are not a good side atm and had we had a full strength squad we might have got something. It's absolutely appalling the state of our squad and bench. It's genuinely embarrassing and actually angers me. The amount of opportunities and trophies this team have lost, a big part of that has been injuries. The European final being one playing aribo up front as, we didn't sign a striker in the Jan. Same as last year , didnt sign a striker and arguably lost us the leauge. Going into the SCF last year, pretty sure about 7 starters weren't fully fit. It's just a never ending cycle of players overpaid and out for far too long. As much as I agree dessers is too expensive for a 3rd choicd striker can we really afford to let him go and rely soley on igamane abd danilo over 2 competitions and try and claw back some points in the leauge? Matondo sterling soutar Lawrence dowell ridvan cortes kasawirjo can get so far to fuck. Also balogun who i love but also needs to go. We've no back up RB? LB position questionable. Short at CB .no back up RW for cerny. Mccasuland isn't up to it I'm afraid. It's a disgrace. Until we start signing more quality , experience and players who don't miss 75% of the season we aren't winning anything. Sorry for the negative post , overall its not the worst outcome of the game but it's a huge part of why we are failing as a club.

Tamus

I felt so sorry for Dessers He looked Gutted when the Rags scored at the end as his name was instantly erased from Rangers folklore What a fantastic goal from him He is such an enigma

Scott Tolmie

Unbelievable from big Cyril, 17 goals 5 assists and apparently I'm told he's the worst rangers striker ever, aye ok. Jefte will learn from last night, he's a young boy learning his trade. We are not going to sign young guys who are the finished product.

Greg Cameron

His hand was forced for credit to Clement for throwing on Rice and Curtis. Got to feature more going forward. Young Rice has more composure on the ball than the majority of the more senior players!

Steven L

I was in the home end for hospitality with my work but I’ll tell you this as much as Man U are world famous there home supporters are shite. I made more noice celebrating our goal by myself. Tourist league.

Linda Mackay

Great goal but I wonder if he also knew he should've closed the Man Utd player down. It's where he's standing but he joggs over and let's him put the cross in. I don't mean to be harsh but he had plenty of time to get over and close him down. We so deserved the draw.

Brian Marshall

Gutted but proud of the players and the support that was a Rangers performance tonight against all the odds 👏

Moody Marco

Top marks to Laura for using the word “shy”; it’s a crying shame how it went out of fashion. I grew up in the 80s when we played on red baize pitches with Mitre Mouldmaster balls and if the ball went out of play it was either a corner, a shy or a by-kick!

Laura Clarke

Strangely I’ve picked it up from my brother who has lived in Glasgow for 20+ years. I said it at my own football before and my team mates had no idea what I meant 😂

Billy Forrester

I very much doubt we were offered that for JB, more like 5 million. No way we were turning down anything over 10 million

Colin Gardner

Cammy you can't bang on about we don't do the dark arts well then when we do (Propper) say your disappointed in him. Then go on and say the Man U keeper conned the ref and basically commend him as we were putting pressure on them. Go figure.

John Jamieson

Honestly getting to the point I don’t trust butland and if he continues with this form wont be surprised if we look for a new #1 can’t have a drop like he has from year 1 to 2 is scary and can’t be allowed to continue

Dingus

Find it really hard to agree that Jefte will learn from last night. As a full back, being aware of a runner in behind is as basic as it gets. He hasn’t learned from similar lapses earlier in the season, so not sure this one will be any different

chris smith

2nd half, Tav was giving me late era Lothar Mateaus vibes

Dingus

Totally agree but can you imagine the fan backlash if we accept £10m for Igamane this window. Depends on how much we trust our recruitment team to come up with another gem. For me it’s pot luck
