The Hagi and Bajrami comparison doesn’t really work when Hagi has already played in 2 top 5 leagues in his career, Serie A and La Liga, and couldn’t get a regular game either time. Bajrami, for 2 different teams, has played regularly in Italy. Bajrami started well initially but his form has dipped, as can happen. Bit early to want him sold already.

Kirk Guthrie

Bajrami just seems completely uninterested when playing. For a player with the accolades you mentioned, you'd think he'd have more of an impact

David MacT

I dont think he does at all. His form hasn’t been great for a month or so but seeing him punching the badge at Tannadice after Propper’s goal didn’t look like an uninterested player to me. I think this ‘he’s uninterested’ thing is another one of those easy and very lazy assumptions people make as someone else has said it, which filters through a lot of our support. Kinda like everyone embarrassingly going on about Clement ‘gaslighting’ them a few months.

Kirk Guthrie

Hey I hope you're right and I'm just missing something, but my opinion certainly isn't because someone else said it. I formed this opinion with my own 2 eyes

Good pod gents Dessers needs to go as his value is a high as it will ever be just now. His age is against him now and he’s not a reliable striker.

Jamiedfa

Negri scumbag, really?

Steven Harrigan

Aye. Mega. Go to the library, rent a dictionary, look up the meaning of Grifter and under it you will find Negri.

David Smith

100% Steven, a player who was a manic depressive while playing for us, now all of a sudden, 20yr later he can’t stop mentioning rangers 🤨

David Smith

My favourite pod on the network 👌👌

Re Dessers, if someone wants him they can match the fee they got for Kyogo He’s scored as many goals and probably more in Europe

I’m a bit cynical about Hagi coming out and claiming he really wanted to stay and play at the club. I think that was driven by a lack of interest from elsewhere that surprised both him and his agent (who’s a clown btw). The only interest was from a Romanian club. I think Hagi expected to have more options and when those didn’t appear he broke cover in the media and claimed - late in the day - that he was desperate to stay. FWIW i would keep give him another deal if the terms are right. He shouldn’t be one of our highest earners. But he should have a transfer value, and if we give him a new deal we can sell him on if needs be and hopefully get our money back on him.

Granters

No chance we get that money for Dessers. Yes the numbers he returns compare, but as much as i hate to admit it, Dessers just ain’t as good a player. We should get at least our money back on Dessers though. Something far wrong if we don’t. Sell and reinvest.

I personally thought bajrami looked really bright when he first started playing off the left rather than in the 10. Was kinda hoping he was going to contribute similar to cerny numbers but hasn't happened for whatever reason. I think if he can start chipping away with a couple of goal contributions he will lose a lot of slack. As much as I like hagi , again he doesn't score enough for me . His assist are great though. Maybe let bajrami hit some free kicks for a change as he has an eye for goal at the edge of the box

Hagi would flourish in La Liga?We already have recent evidence that isn’t true. He’s been decent since returning but some of this from Iain is nearly as bad as the time he claimed Lawrence was having a renaissance and deserved an extension.

Hendi

Why does every assessment of a player have to be so drastic? Bjarami has sacrificed himself in 2 old firm matches, put team before himself to take McGregor out the game. He put plenty of "yards in" there. That doesn't seem like someone that's "not interested" and "doesn't want to be here". Why is a less drastic explanation never offered? Perhaps he's just struggling with his form, still adapting to the game, team, country etc. But instead he's written off in the most apocalyptic terms. You'd think you'd maybe learn to tailor your views having been so wrong on Igamane and Cerny already this season.

Iain Campbell

I doubt he 'sacrificed' himself, this would have been a tactic from the manager. He is no doubt a talented player, however his work ethics in other parts of his game is shockingly poor, especially defensively.

Iain Campbell

Hagi was given limited game time at Alaves as he continued his rehabilitation. The comparison was to leagues in Europe where to have time and space to pick a pass and create. Lawrence was in good form when I made those comments at the time, and was contributing to the team.

Hendi

Aye a tactic from the manager that many others would have considered beneath them and failed to commit to.

jamey Carruthers

Contributing to the team with a goal here and there. You’ve just questioned Bajrami for his work rate - Lawrence makes him look like James Milner On Hagi you said he would flourish in a top 5 league then name checked Serie A and La Liga. Need to calm down a bit.

Steven Harrigan

We didn't put a man on McGregor the last OF. More than welcome to share your views on the next pod. Invite is there?

Hendi

He man marked him the cup final. Followed him all over the park. In the second game he never shadowed him but he made sure any access route to him was blocked though his positioning. But in not man marking him he was able to hold a position further up the park that kept him as an attacking option. Same levels of discipline.

Iain Campbell

Genuine question, have you watched Hagi in game, his work rate is far superior to Bajrami. And he doesn't hide from a tackle. Unlike Bajrami. I said it and I stand by it, I'd have Hagi over him next season. Also the comment about top 5 European leagues would include France and Germany, and Hagi would do well in both those leagues

Granters

Playing’s Devil’s Dick Advocate - could it be that Negri is now older, wiser, and realises he should’ve played it differently? He wouldn’t be the first player who only realised what he had when it was all over. I get why people call him a grifter. But really, what is there to grift? Negri’s book will have made him buttons. It’s not like he’s trying to take the fanbase for thousands.
