To be three days on, and not even a single post on a media platform the club operates is staggering. Genuinely never seen this before, even with some of the dross Clement has served up prior.

Vanb bryceter

It looks like everything hinges on Europe. If not then we really are in a much deeper hole than I thought. Have a good day David.

Scott Kerr

Not a word from the club, plus Clement is still on charge after our worst cup defeat ever!! We are being treated like 🤡 by all at Rangers Football Club 🤬

Derek Paterson

I didn't expect anything. The board appointment ed CEO and Chairman. So they are Parks men. Also they sanctioned a 3.5 year deal for a assist Manager.. ....

William Noble

I think the board wont sack the gaffer as they are to happy enjoying the European gravy train

Rona Bluebell

Hugely disappointed in the lack of leadership in the club and taking responsibility. It reeks of internal paralysis, they don’t know what to do so do nothing. My pet hate is people taking a high wage then hiding. Not acceptable and it’s being noticed. Very poor.

David Hanlon

Rangers don't deserve the fans they have. A complete basket case of a club.

William Noble

I think dowall is not suitable for the European style of football that pc wants to play

Stewart Robertson

At least David Murray would come out and tell us to sod off.

Iain Baird

Ever wondered why Dave King was everywhere for 2 weeks solid then hasn’t said a word in months? Not like him whatsoever Something in the pipeline? 👀

Bryan Watson

He is going nowhere. To be blunt they have no desire or intention to dismiss him but are shitting their pants at the outrage so they are hoping that if they batten down the hatches until the press conference for the Hearts game then we will have all calmed down and moved on. Disgusting and cowardly. They actually are trying to justify it as "its a massive cup upset but awk look at the stats, one of they ones isn't it? I mean Liverpool got put out off Plymouth...". Nevermind the straw that broke the camel's back, if I could describe Sunday within the context of our season and the club in the last few years it would be more like dropping a nuclear bomb on its back. Not impressed with Patrick Stewart at all.

Calum Robertson

Never apologise about wittering on about the Rangers problems, we are all feeling it and if you can’t moan to fellow Bears then who can you moan to

Stewart Robertson

Nature abhors a vacuum. But so does my dog. (Norm MacDonald)

Ciaran Robson

I dont get what the radio silence achieves, the fans are not going to just forget about the result on Sunday and its just creating more toxicity. This is the type of result that will be spoke about for years when future upsets happen.. so they might aswell just front it up and tell us whats happening with Clement!!

James McSween

Anyone know how long our media went silent before sacking GVB or Beale ?

Stephen

Will we have agreed potential transfer fees for Davies and Dowell when the loans were agreed (ie when they were shit) or can their values rise in our favour if they keep doing well?

Kev Armstrong

Lost to Aberdeen 30/9 and tweeted Beale was gone 1/10 @ 8:35 St Mirren game for gio was 12/11 and tweet to say he left was 10:16am 21/11 however that was the weird international break cos of World Cup

Granters

Interesting hearing you speculate on a possible ‘gentlemans agreement’ between Clement and the Board. I think that’s exactly what’s happened. I think he’s been guaranteed the season irrespective of any results as a kind of quid pro quo for the Hampden shitshow and basically having no strategic support for the bulk of his tenure.

Graeme McLeod

Patrick Stewart lied to the fans in that Q&A fluffy piece. There's absolutely no chance that Clement was given no cast-iron guarantees about his future. Anyone who believes the spin that we have a Belgian in charge of recruitment, a Belgian manager and a Belgian (of Moroccan descent) assistant manager but it's just coincidental and they aren't pals needs their head examined. If Clement hadn't already been given assurances by the board that he'd be here beyond this season there'd zero chance they hire a new assistant on a three & a half year deal. The board don't see this season as a failure because of Europe. Frankly I suspect a good few of them would gladly take years of this over winning trophies. The club is unrecognisable to what I grew up watching. And it isn't because of finances. It's the acceptance of second place, filling the staff with foreigners with no understanding of Scottish football or Rangers Football Club who then sign players of that ilk. We missed out window to break Celtic's stranglehold of Scottish football after winning 55, and we get further and further away from it every season. But hey, beat Celtic in a dead rubber after blowing the league so why complain?

Bryan Watson

They also shockingly let Gio do an interview with Sky a week after the St Mirren game and let him speak about how he could turn it around etc and then sacked him the next day. I think Gio was rightly sacked because his football was not going to make us champions and couldn't touch Postecoglou's Celtic for the most part. However, I feel so bad for Gio right now because he done way more for Rangers than either Beale or Clement yet seems to have been treated the harshest. Shambles

JM

I don’t see much benefit of chopping him immediately other than making everyone feel better for 24 hrs - doesn’t get us back in the cup nor the league. Firing him now or after we finish in the Europa won’t change anything for next season.

James McSween

I wonder now that KT has been announced back academy that they will announce PC has been binned and KT and someone else will be in charge til end of season. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Jordan McKay

The Rangers X account posted every day between the 1-1 draw with St Mirren on 12th November until the 19th, then went silent for 2 days until they announced Gio’s departure. Beale was sacked the day after the Aberdeen defeat and there was nothing between Butland’s post match interview and the announcement that Beale was gone.

Graham Sinclair Walker

I'm all for 'taking a step back' - populist responses get us nowhere. There are no easy answers to our problems, certainly not a caretaker till the end of the season or managerial upheaval when there is a EL tie on the horizon with a lot of money riding on it.

Douglas Innes

I think there's more truth in what the daily update said yday , 2nd biggest budget 2nd place in league should have 1 Cup in bag and cup shocks happen, and performing better than expected in Europe all the while reducing the wage bill by 30%

Heart and Hand

Then tell us that. Don’t hide and hope it all goes away. It’s merely annoying the support. If that’s what they want to do, say so and accept the reaction it’ll get.

Bryan Watson

I tend to agree, the way Clement spoke on Sunday with a tone of certainty that he was going nowhere spoke volumes, because I genuinely think he believes it and has been assured he is safe. In terms of the foreigners thing I don't necessarily buy into that I mean the team across the city have scudded us and everyone else for years now with a team full of Asian, North American and European Players. Equally we have players that should know what it means, they just don't have the mentality or the hunger. I think the mentality between the captains of the 2 clubs speaks volumes. Hate to seem like I am picking on him but Tav on social media is a disgrace he has won 3 trophies and done well in a European season thats it, yet hes got upteen wee edits on his instagram of his personal highlights including in big games we have lost in seasons we have won nothing but awk look at this free kick. Contrast with Callum McGregor, 29 trophies, 8 as Captain since we won 55, yet is he posting anything to boast or brag? Is he nothing because he is focused on winning the next trophy. Its not just Tav far too many of our players past and present have done it (shush burger anyone?) but for me that perfectly encapsulates the difference between us and them. Forget money or whatever, the difference is that they are a team full of hungry winners, willing to do what it takes and we are a team full of pretenders who don't have the stomach to deliver sustained success.

Glen Kane

I've had a season ticket for 35 years and sadly this might be the last one. I don't recognise this club as the one I grew up with.

Graeme McLeod

You don't need a starting XI entirely of Scots and Ulsterman, but we've spent years largely ignoring the domestic market and it hasn't worked. We aren't signing players who already have the mentality, and there's nobody here to drill that into them. Celtic do have players and coaches around who know their club's history, and who can bang the drum for new signings. The standards are gone, and the people making decisions don't understand what they were in the first place.

Graham Roy

Day 4 of still being pissed off! Mr Rangers please cheer me up!

Graham Roy

That makes sense if there is a plan in place and the board have full confidence that the manager can achieve what they feel is acceptable. I don’t think we have such a plan and the board are in a corner and do not know what to do! They need a silver bullet and suspect they are hopeful he does something in Europe that will distract us! What they are in danger of doing is seriously pissing off the support if we don’t win on Sunday!

KennyY

I think we are in for a long wait if we think the CEO is going to sack the manager. He said publicly recently that we need to get out of this habit of sacking managers every year. It very much looks like that includes giving grace to the manager for overseeing the worst result I’ve ever seen following Rangers. Now Patrick Stewart didn’t put all his cards on the table and if our league form keeps going the way it has and folk stop going to Ibrox then the writings on the wall. We still have to go to our work and face the arrogant gloating Tims week upon week and this ain’t getting better anytime soon even when we do eventually change the manager

Charlie Nicolson

Wee sister's birthday on Friday, thanks for reminder

Damien Stubbs

At that level of business I’d f*cking hope we aren’t working on “gentleman’s” agreements of any kind. You can’t promise anything in most businesses simply due to the way the world works/is now let alone in a business where you’re suitability is tested every week, sometimes several times a week. And sadly, if that promise was made it certainly shouldn’t be honoured, he’s failed the test time and time again.

Eddie McDonald

Patrick Stewart doing his best to claim the hide n seek trophy for 2025, about the only trophy round ibrox way unfortunately. Its a real disdain being shown to loyal supporters here with the lack of clarity.

Jim McCutcheon

If they ( board ) love the club then they would respect the fans and make the call keeping silent is not the awnser it only inflames the fans even more imo ,thanks again David 👍

Baz

Totally agree 👍 fans will always give respect when someone stands to be account

Calum Downham

A winning mentality can be built, we need to stop blaming players for constantly being failures at Rangers and start to look inward at the culture, playing style and the leadership group I hate using them as an example but the following is true, nearly every player Celtic signed in season 21/22 hit the ground running and have went on to deliver success and/or were sold for a high profit fee. These players were bought from the world over, and none could be accused of the ‘shirt being too heavy’. It’s nonsense . A constant appetite for success was introduced to these players along with an exciting playing style, these are the conditions that can breed success The fact is we are an abject failure of a football club in each and every way. The club is toxic, which is why players with quality constantly fail here.

Martin Sutherland

I have thought for a while that they have given him assurances. I personally think there is a contractional agreement in place after the extension. The board are no longer operating in the best interests of Rangers, they are actively harming us and have done for a number of years. Stewart is a figurehead for them and will do absolutely nothing positive for the fans. A lot of our fans are happy to back the board and boo any demonstrations against them, so nothing will change.

Fergie

To be honest I think a lot of the teams in the SPFL just now would struggle to get out of the English League 1 or make an impression in the Championship.

David Innes

I think this is the lowest I’ve been in 35 years supporting the club. Even if things improve in the medium term we are going to be 2nd best until such time as we can close the financial gap that exists with our closest rivals. To do that we need a proper long term strategy that I don’t believe the current board are willing or capable of putting into practice

Graham Leatherbarrow

The best news currently is our duds are shaping up in other clubs, here’s hoping it keeps up, ultimate test comes when they need to pay up for the charlatans at end of loans

David Innes

I don’t think they are intentionally not operating in our best interests. We are just paying a painful price for their bad decisions taken over the last 4 years

Gordon Watson

The club culture, one of its strengths, which informs its identity, sense of purpose and drive, is missing. It baffles me how from such a passionate support we can’t muster players from that community into the first team and into the operational aspects of the club to our advantage. It Doesn’t have to be a wholesale approach because you can always find a blend between this and recruited players (and football staff and non-football staff), there’s a happy medium. Right now the club looks rudderless and lacking in leadership.

Ross Russell

Club needs to realise people will stop going, not sure how many here remember the early 80s. Shiny new stadium with maybe 15-20000 people in it on a good day, pick your seat basically until 86. On a plus note, At least being 17000 km away i don't need to put up with the shite at work on a Monday. Thank heavens for small mercies

Jim Milne

I watched the Birmingham vs . Newcastle game, and I was astonished by the performances Davies and Dowell put in. Their passion too, didn't even see 10% of that here. At one point Ben Davies was squaring up to other players and he even headed the ball out of his own box! I know right 😂. I was happy as it'll increase their value and hopefully chances of transfer, but left wanting at two players who just coasted it up here.

Tommy

With regards to investors, we’ve had American businessman/entrepreneur Scott Galloway on his podcast repeatedly talking about his wish to own or buy into Rangers. As recently as a couple of weeks ago he said it was too difficult, hard to get a consortium together etc (He’s since bought into a Colombian club). As an individual who is a fan via his family roots + extremely wealthy you’d expect and hope the club are speaking to this guy regularly, but realistically do you see Graham Park sitting won and chatting to him? They exist in different stratospheres. Stewart at least has business knowledge about him but ultimately if we want external investment then we need to be attractive and set up to allow this to happen, I’m not sure we are.

Tommy

Strange that there’s been so little out of the club from Mon-Wed, usually some journo has something but it seems to have been totally quiet. Players been in training as normal?

Tommy

He’s got 2-3 pods a week, hour plus each so won’t be able to find (it’s generally a throwaway comment) but he’s been talking about a desire to invest or buy Rangers for a couple of years. He did say he was warned against doing it as investment in football essentially is a no win, constantly in the firing line etc. He’s incredibly smart with an impressive CV, he’s been on the board at many blue chip tech companies. His input would be invaluable, even if he wasn’t an investor. He’s now lumped in with Ryan Reynolds and Eva Longoria to buy a team in Colombia. There is interest out there, only if there’s willingness for the board to engage.
