What does this game mean now? We get beat and PC stays regardless. Are we playing for pride? I think that mounted a horse and galloped into the distance a few weeks ago. It’s only February folks.

Vanb bryceter

I can hardly muster any interest,so very well done to you guys for putting in the effort. I don't want to wish my life away but I do wish it was the end of the season. I'm over Clement no matter his comments are infuriating. If it's true some players are awaiting his departure then they can go with him and don't let the door of another trophyless trophy room hit you on the way out just GTF

James McSween

If anyone thinks you guys are negative about us this season then they haven’t been watching our games. Honest options that majority of fans also have.

John Smith

I think we’ll lose this game and the boards hand will be forced tomorrow

Scott Watson

It's a bit strange to say we only finished top 8 in the europa league "because of other results" That's how leagues work - everyone plays and whoever has the best results is at the top Another team scores a goal and we wouldn't have been 8th - well, sure, but if Dessers scores against Tottenham then we'd have been 4th or 5th, does that mean we actually did better than we thought? None of these things happened - but it doesn't make a lot of sense to say things that didn't happen mean what did happen doesn't count

Hendi

The sound cutting out done you a favour, because "we only finished where we did because of other results" might be the worst takes ever put forward on here. We finished where we did because we took more points and achieved a better goal difference than the other 28 clubs. When you're so desperate to interpret everything in the most negative way possible it undermines the credibility of any other point you make.

Stewart Robertson

It wasn’t a freak result. It had been in the post for a while.

Stewart Robertson

Kev’s just said exactly the same thing. That’s what I get for commenting while I’m listening to the pod.

Iain Campbell

We had an 8% chance of finishing in the top 8, which we did on a superior goal difference, as other results fell our way. This isn't being negative for the sake of it, it's the reality of the situation. I was delighted when we did qualify in the top 8, but it was just another plaster over a fractured season

Stewart Robertson

Iain. You made a couple of great points. First - A lot of Bears I’ve spoken to have said the Queens goal felt like the winner. You just couldn’t see us coming back. The second - I wore my Rangers away top to work on the Monday, to show my pride and loyalty, and yet I received zero slaggings. The worst I got was “what happened to your lot”. It’s bad enough that we’re apathetic, but now the rest of Scottish fitba’ seems to view us with pity.

Billy Paterson

Clement will go at the end of the season, I think. The penalty we got wasn't soft. It was a stonewaller. Rice, imo, was rotten in the 1st half. Not the only one I may add, but him getting taken off was no great surprise. I've also heard podders on HH talk about us having 40 shots in the game. Complete nonsense. Also podders regurgitating the myth that Clement was on £50k a week. HH don't need to embellish the facts etc to try and turn the fans even more on Clement. He's already done. The fans can see that.

William Hughes

Just win Rangers. I'm sick of my own voice moaning watching our games. I just want us to win football matches.

Hendi

We must have had a 95% chance of beating Queens Park, will just chalk that result down to "bad luck" with your logic then 👍🏻

Hendi

There are millions of much needed pounds to play for in the Europa League. How much effort do you think you're getting from the players if you leak to the press that the manager is getting binned as soon as the season is done? How did we get on when Walter Smith announced his plans to leave at the end of the season? How did Man U get on when Fergie announced his first retirement?

Kev Armstrong

Some have chalked it down to bad luck. I’d say there’s a slight difference between needing about 5 results to go your way in games you are not involved in and a one off game you are involved in.

Hendi

And see instead of restating the same complaints every week, let's hear your ideas for what is needed to get us back competing at the top of the table? Or have you nothing other than changing the manager?

Stephen

Finishing 9th or 10th with those tough fixtures would have still been impressive. I want Clement gone but he did well in Europe this season. Any good luck we got at the end is balanced by the bad luck we got when the draw was made

Scott Watson

Devil's Dick Advocaat Swap game day 1 and 8 The new day 1 has all the same results We go into day 8 knowing we need a win at malmo to go through in 8th. We win and get 8th (I haven't actually checked all the fixture permutations but the principle stands - there would mathematically be a way of swapping fixtures to get here) Is it still lucky? If not, why not? What's the difference? You only ever finish above someone in a "league" if your results are better (even in a fair league, which as Stephen notes, this wasn't) But I think Hendi is getting at the focus on things that could have gone against us - that ignores the things that could have gone FOR us. Back to my Dessers example, or the gut punch at old trafford, or if we'd taken early chances against Lyon. Or any of those teams that might have got 8th with a different result on the last day, what if they'd dropped a point on another night? All these things are equally likely, a goal scored or conceded could tip any result but it's really all best summed up with the timeless wisdom, if your aunt had a...

Simon

People talking about vacuums is annoying me more than Rangers.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks again guys this pod is very interesting and imo a fair assessment of the the club at present and the past few seasons 🤷‍♂️

Heart and Hand

Hendi, genuine question - why do you continue to listen to a show you don’t enjoy? If any of the podders annoy me I just ignore tge shows they’re on 😀

Jim Lamb

Great show lads, and your opinions resonate with my own. Clement is a shocking manager who should’ve been chased after last seasons capitulation. I do worry for the future of the club tbh as there is no light at the end of that dark tunnel. On Sundays game, Hearts will really fancy their chances, and no one will be shocked if they do indeed win. And on we go, rinse and repeat.

Hendi

I do enjoy the show! I wouldn't listen to it if I didn't. I Just disagree with most of what they say. Anyway, i know all 3 are big proponents of "if you pay yer money, yer entitled to let them know what ye think", so they'll not mind the criticism... 😇

Ross Stirling

Whilst I tend to agree with you guys more than the positive ones, I don't see how anything you've said is incorrect? Everything you say every week is bang on the money. Because when things are good, you say they are good. It baffles me that after the complete disaster this has been. The league was done before the clocks went back, and the season was done before the went forward again, how anyone can seriously use any excuse for not beating Queens Park.

David Innes

Thanks guys. That was a pretty tough listen but not much to disagree with. Tomorrow is going to tell us a lot about whether or not the players still believe in the manager.

Hendi

Tbf to Kev, he's the least disagreeable of the trio, he only riles me about 80% of the time... 😁

Graeme Price

It's not just the away losses, it's that we're drawing too and in fact only won four times. Even with two draws and two losses away which isn't brilliant, you're within six points of them and a game in hand. Totally different outlook. Have to stop hiring arrogant idealogues who're unwilling to adjust tactics. Queen's Park is a firing offence for any Rangers manager outside of Walter. Dead man walking. Is he mibbes trying to get fired but?

Graeme Price

And why do we have to come up with the answers when having a moan? I hear that all the time from people defending him, as if the club is waiting for some keyboard warrior from America to come and save us.

Scott Watson

Thank you gentlemen! Welcome back Kev, glad to hear you are feeling better Even in the most grim of times, Steven's one-liners are worth the price of admission I am definitely feeling synergised with the pod The manager continues, and will continue, to dominate discussions for obvious reasons. Trying not to look too specifically at last week, do you think replacing him would pan out more like Man U or Everton?

Douglas Innes

Manager is getting the majority of the backlash but the players have kinda escaped here , can't believe that the 2 day jolly the players had to London has been forgotten about , it's not so much fans have been defending Clement but Koppen and clement were put in place to do something new in regards challenging Celtc so they've reduced the wage budget by 30% on the back of a £17 million loss , so maybe fans who many think are happy clappers or in defence of what the club is trying to do have maybe a better grasp of the real situation the club is in , does that excuse last Sunday ? Absolutely not but once the players cross that white line surely it's more on them than the manager ? ..... 3-1 Rangers

Scott Watson

Fair warning, stop reading if you don't like numbers... I think it's a bit of yes and no xG was 3.6 vs 0.49 in the game And yes, xG isn't magic, and yes it has limitations and yes every hopeless long shot does bump it up by 0.02 or whatever, but it does generally roughly reflect chances and in fact, we actually slightly outperform our xG domestically this season If you play 122 games like that, you'd expect a 0-1 scoreline to come up only once If you play 46 games like that, you'd expect to win 42, draw 3 and lose 1 If you play 37 games like that, you'd expect to score 0 goals - 1 1 goal - 3.6 times 2 goals - 6.5 times 3 goals - 7.8 times 4 goals - 7 times 5 goals - 5 times 6 goals - 3 times 7+ goals - a bit more than 2 So the comment is fair in that sense - given those raw chances, you are a bit unlucky to come out losing 0-1 But the difference between data and information is in the context... xG obviously doesn't reflect anything about the general malaise around the club and the yo-yo of despair and apathy we've all been doing for a while. We all feel that the walls are closing in and that something has got to give, that a (further) disaster was in the post But here's the real problem - if we re-run that game 46 times, we'd expect the 42 wins and in isolation, you'd say "sure, that is a freak" If we re-run the whole season, we'd still expect to be second most of the time (I haven't got exact numbers because even I'm not that bored) - and you can't really separate the two things

David Tod

It was a generational defeat and should be treated as such. You guys aren’t in a position to offer solutions when the people who are employed to find them are completely inert.

Jim Milne

You're right, the player should share the blame. However who authorised the joly? The night we beat USG Clement stated categorically that the players asked for a day off now they had a midweek with no European game and he said "no days off". Then gave them 2 days off.

Douglas Innes

Think it was a Sunday/Monday thing but it just smacks of amateurish on so many levels

Stewart Robertson

Cheers. I'm an older Bear with a white muzzle, so xG is like "rizz", "sick" and "slay" for me - a different language. What made it not a freak was the fact that I have spoken with countless bears who a, weren't surprised when we went 0-1 down, and b, didn't see us coming back from it. H&H should do a tactics, xG, StatsBomb pod for dummies (like me).

JimGLW

Spot on in dissecting this "picked up" rubbish. Losing to a push Man Utd as a highlight for us is quite telling.

Iain Campbell

We can speculate about how we would like to see the club move forward, but ultimately that is the responsibility of our custodians - The Board

Douglas Innes

Can't believe anyone club included thought that this was a good idea and can't believe given last Sunday that it hasn't been highlighted

Scott Stewart

Good win away in a hard venue, rode our luck at time ,was a hard , watch terrible performance , good saves from butland , dessers looked lively when he came on , igamane poor needs to play in a two. It’s no surprise his form has dipped since Danilo got injured ! Ps although fairly quiet today, cerny is a massive player for Gers. Imagine life without him just now. A daunting thought

Kev Armstrong

Just said in a chat it’s going to be a big ask to get someone to replace those goals next season
