Hoggy will be back after an enforced break, with what might be a bumpy Hamper!

  • The case for and against the manager?

  • The silence of the CEO / Board this week?

  • What now for the rest of the season?

  • And a lookback in history to cup upsets and what it meant for the manager and playing squad - can we learn from history?

It'll be fun! If you want to join the Hamper - hoggy@heartandhand.co.uk.

It would be interesting to know what baldemorts remit was with the board/ceo when he signed the extension 🤔 maybe reducing the wage bill and starting to build a younger squad was what was all that was expected and it's why he seems certain he won't be fired

I'm absolutely disgusted with the club just now. It is sickening how far we have fallen since Seville. I don't even know if I can watch another game in the league this season,it just seems so pointless. Drastic change has to happen in the summer or if at all possible sooner I've had enough false dawn's

Greg Cameron

The whole Patrick Stewart talking in hospitality was a piss take by Phantom on Twitter 🙈

Ewan Christie

Cheers Hoggy! Understand the point on season ticket holders, was more meaning merchandise, food and NEH etc.. surely you make more money from 50,000 at Ibrox rather than 20,000!

James McConnachie

Here’s a thought Hoggy: Teams like Dumbarton are skirting around the edges of going bust. Rangers youth development is currently non-functional with a lack of competitive games. Teams like Rangers could buy a local satellite club in a lower league and use that as a basis for development. Fans could get discounted tickets /season tickets and boost the attendances of that lower league club. Rather than a B team in the traditional sense it’s a feeder club.

Bob MacCallum

I want Clement gone BUT he won't get sacked because he's doing the Board's bidding, bringing in younger players with a sell-on value, reducing the wage bill thereby getting rid of expensive players who contribute nothing. Too many players are mentally and physically weak. That's on Koppen and the Director of Perfomance. On field, much stems from our weak captain who should have gone in the summer. Compare him to ANY skipper in the league and he's woeful. Against QP when we went behind, we didn't have a captain driving the team on, getting in their heads. Missing that penalty sums him up.

James McSween

Hoggy, glad to hear you call it as it is and not mince your words. Anyone that’s still behind Clement is accepting and happy with the current situation.

David Murray sacked Walter Smith, after he delivered 9 in a row. Arguably our greatest ever manager, and someone who now has a fucking STATUE outside, was sacked by the club. HOW, can Philippe Clement still be in a job ? (or should that be WHY?)

Stewart Robertson

Rona makes a good point though. LOYALTY is in our DNA. Fans will continue to spend money and support their TEAM, even if they can't stand the men in charge. There's a queue a mile long for season tickets.

I have some sympathy for clement in terms of having to correct over spending under Beale in summer 2023. Bisgrove and Board signed off signing players with no sell on value like Dessers, Danilo, Lammers etc. As they allowed Kent, Morelos, etc to leave for nothing. It’s the perfect storm impacting us now. Queen’s Park result is the worst I can recollect in my 45 years. However the circumstances clement faces still should have a team bearing Queen’s Park at home. We need more steel, leadership and characters coming into the club, not just nice technical players.

In the Year of our Lord 2025 I don’t think there’s any excuse for not knowing that Phantom is at it 🤣

Re this taking fake plaudits for the VAR error in the LCF Would Tav have scored the penalty ?

Calum Robertson

Regarding the European fixtures if there is a 2 week break between fixtures why not CL matches the first week and Europa and Conference matches the second week, this would give the 2 lesser competitions a chance for more of a spotlight rather than just added on at the end of the European match week

Thinking of you and the family Hoggy. Your hamper is always a staple of my weekend household cleaning routine! Makes it far more tolerable!

Alan Riddell

Totally agree Hoggy.. Tavernier in particular is the worst, he stands there with that pathetic look and always trots out we need to learn shite, they never f do. Do not need him to tell us that it was unacceptable but he is endemic with our Kano of success as a club and team.

John Smith

Welcome back Hoggy. I wish you and your family nothing but good wishes. You gave me some very kind words a few months ago in a difficult time for myself so please know that is very much reciprocated.

Jim Milne

Wasn't one word you said today Hoggy that I didn't agree with. Keep up the great work.

Jim Milne

Would other lower division clubs have to vote to accept that? Seems they were so determined to stop the B team in the lower leagues. Completely agree with your suggestion James.

James McConnachie

Yeah it’s likely they’d allow a club to go out of business rather than seeing anything help Rangers. Another example of Scottish football hating itself to death.

JimGLW

Good stuff Hoggy. Glad you are pointing out we have spent a few quid

JimGLW

"we've blown it already" spot on Hoggy. I've asked you every few months about metrics to measure him and you've been sensible with them. And he's failed all

Andy Sladen

Great pod again Hoggy and agree with your comments regarding the manager and failure to hit targets. I wouldn’t even say they were stretch targets. The Uncle Nobby comment made me laugh out loud. I was a student in the mid 80’s when the Macc Lads appeared and saw them a few times. 59 in a couple of months and to my shame they have been known to blast out on the drive back to Scarborough after a game. Worst of it is my son knew all the words and he owned up to nicking my cd’s when he was in his teens. I’m a poor parent! Take care of yourself and family.
