Mail sport now saying that the deal is “all done and dusted “ let’s hope it’s a new positive era for our club!

Rona Bluebell

The current investors have gone as far as they can. We’re not settling for second in perpetuity so this is the only solution really.

Alan Weir

Not sure how similar the deals would be, but let’s not forget Newcastle fans dancing in the streets with their takeover…followed by not very much. On the other hand, a front three of “Ligamane”, Isak and Vini Jr would give even Queens Park a game. (Quite) exciting times😁

Rod

Morocco is over 2000 miles away from the equator, it's literally only 8 miles from the Spanish coast. 🙂

Newcastle are in a hell of a better place than they were under Ashley. They were fighting relegation wgen they took over in Dec 21 and since then have reached two cup finals and the CL. They’re going for CL this season.

Alan Weir

Absolutely there has been improvement, but, trust me, Toon supporters were expecting higher profile signings than have actually arrived. I think a lot of their progress has been down to terrific management rather than the takeover. I’m still pretty excited at the thought of a bit of significant, positive change and maybe one or two non-bargain basement signings.

Bill Me

Was going to say just that. Also, El Igamane. The Igamane..... Rather than Ligamane I'd think.... Like El Hadji Diouf... Not Lhadji Diouf....

Nick

Think the share issue could be kind of tangentially related if the deal is further along than we think, maybe investors looking to sell who have outstanding debt owed could be converting that to shares to have their stake entirely in shareholding to facilitate the deal in some way? It's 2am struggling to sleep spitballing tbf but just a thought!

Feeling abit uneasy with this reported take over ,just thinking of man utd with the Glaziers family, and the fair play rules from Uefa I think we will still be limited.

Hendi

The Season Ticket waiting list deniers should lead the way and give up theirs up first. Show us how it's done 🙂

Craig

I wonder if the fact we have not sacked the manager, spending the capital that would require, as there’s discussions about a change of ownership.

Gregg

They are restricted by FFP - as anyone taking over is will be. Coming in and signing Mbappe et al isn’t possible under the current guidelines - well meaning as they are they protect the established clubs

Alastair McGeoch

The irony here is, our friends in the east end love to crow about their balance sheet and having £80M in the bank. I’ve often wondered why we weren’t attractive to investors as with a relatively “small” investment (in the right players and manager) and a couple of seasons access to the champions league we could be racking up a similar amount in 3-4 seasons. Also, American ownership might view the club as a way of muscling in on any European league configurations in the future. On Stewart’s interview I thought it was good that we are going for a technical director, so nils koppen is not going to be running our football operation. That means clement can go and koppen can stay (or not) but it separates them. Keeping Clement also “may” present an air of stability if we are looking at bringing in investment. It’s also worth keeping in mind, Rogers goes into his “final” season next season. It was his 3rd season last time where the wheels started wobbling for him and he legged it. “IF” we get bought over, have a bit of a new broom in the summer and start well, Rogers (and his fans) will expect Celtic start spending that 80m which we know they wont. It wouldn’t take much for their dynamic to shift.

Brian Fisher

There's no chance the current board will fork out on severance for the manager when they can pass the buck to the potential new owners. IMO Clement is here until then.

Heart and Hand

I still think it’s a bit odd that there are thousands of people who don’t have tickets desperate for one and Ibrox isn’t full for most matches, even at start of season.

Nick

agree on the point about rodgers, it's obviously wishful thinking but it's wishful thinking with a fair bit of evidence. For whatever reason his players just stop responding to him in the 3rd season and it falls apart over and over, can't be a coincidence now it's happened a good 3 times on the bounce.

Nick

Underestimating how many people see a ST as a downpayment on old firms and european nights, as well as a front row seat to a title race when they come about. Big difference securing your seat for life should you want to keep it renewing and turning up to st mirren at home when we're playing shite. Depressing thought that it's an attitude shared by 10s of thousands it seems.

Gregg

There’s a reason they are building up cash reserves - they know it and I so do their auditors. But we can’t discuss it

Bixby Snyder

Fan living abroad here. I spend close to $600 per year for RTV - so 80% of a season ticket? I’ll still support but if Clement is still here and we continue to play boring football with nothing to play for, subs will take a horrendous dip.

Peter Hosie

We’re keeping PC due to Europe, it really is that simple.

Heart and Hand

People are so blasé about it. ‘Folk will renew/sign up’. Will they? Is just expecting it a sound plan? I worry.

Heart and Hand

It takes a lot to break such a strong connection. But there’s been a lot. And once it does break for someone, I worry it’s hard to get it back.

John Palmer

If Chris Jack said, then it must be true. I'll wait til Rangers comes out and confirms the interest and at what level the talks are between the Club and 49ers Group

Gregg

Amazing as they have the largest fan base within KPMG, E&Y, PWC.

stephen

Well done David calling out this myth of an extensive "waiting list" it's nonsense for all the reasons given.
