Slightly strange discussion of Koppen’s contribution without mentioning £30m Igamane…

Graham Miller

Can’t believe Dessers did not feature as a player you’d sell. I still think we could get £3m possibly more depending on how he finishes the season

Moody Marco

What people fundamentally ALWAYS get wrong when discussing "free speech" is that freedom of speech laws only protect you from governments oppressing your speech

George Higgins

Freedom of speech under the law is a better way to frame it. You have to behave under the law in the U.K. So a number of things cannot be said as they contravene the law. There has never been unlimited freedom of speech. When you sign up to play in Europe you have to accept their rules.

George Higgins

You are welcome but not if you cost the club or fellow fans. It’s perfectly logical. There’s a possibility next time we play at Hampden we could have 1300 fans who will be denied tickets. There is also a possibility a stand could be shut for a European quarter final

Fraser

“Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence” 100% preach! Stick that banner where the sun doesn’t shine.

Tommy

He should be judged on how good he is at selling players, as much as he’s judged on buying players. What we got in last summer from likes of Lammers, Cantwell etc was disgraceful, but his hands may have been tied. We won’t get £30m for Igamane. This isn’t realistic. However Koppen’s ability to maximise fee received is a huge factor on how he should be judged

Keith Kettlewell

I like what the UB bring, there’s things they do that as a 43 year old man I shouldn’t like but I do. I seen that banner on Thursday as soon as it was lifted and I didn’t even understand it. It was pointless. Leave that shite to them

G Calder

We’ve previously faced bans from UEFA due to fans engaging in racist and or discriminatory chants, such as those related to ‘Fenians’ and ‘FTP.’ Is singing these songs truly an expression of ‘freedom of speech’? Should the board clarify that those who sing such songs remain welcome at Ibrox? I’m concerned that we could face fan shutdowns or even a stand closure. As a season ticket holder in the Copeland Road, the thought of being locked out over these issues is shameful. Perhaps the UBs and the Green B could have a lovely little picnic in a field somewhere, complete with their political banners. They can get all fired up and angry with each other, while celebrating ‘freedom of speech’ away from the stadium. Sounds like a delightful day out, doesn’t it?

Steven McKenna

The fan statement made more sense than the board statement. Everyone is not welcome in any walk of life and for the board to say they are is lunacy. No issue with the banner and no issue with it being displayed at a football match in my opinion.

Rona Bluebell

The banner was shameful. Are we really saying that if you’re a Muslim or gay you’re not welcome at Ibrox? Really? It’s like something from the dark ages. What next, the Andrew Tate Loyal saying I’m not welcome as a woman? It’s horrible.

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The move to the Copland was always a pile eh shite a convenience for the other 3 stands to point at the Copland and say Oh aye great idea If you don’t sit in the Copland you have not right to bang the drum for them to have ever been put in there The ST holders I sit with and have done for over a decade are absolutely scunnered with it now . A great historic stand totally infiltrated and took over with Ned’s firing gear up there hooter , out there nuts speaking for us all Garbage I am now in the process of a move to main stand as I do not want associated with or my Ibrox experience being forced and changed Can assure you I sing and vocal enough I knew this would all happen

Graham Roy

The irony is the same ones who go on about free speech are the same ones going on about banners in the Celtic end!

Hendi

Don't bring any of that singing or standing to us in the main stand! We want to watch the game in peace 😄

Jock Paterson

Rangers have been telling us to keep politics out of Ibrox for literally decades. They are as much at fault as those with the banner. Get all of that needy shite out of Rangers. You’ve got to have serious doubts about any person who sets so much store in religion in 2025. Worth the watchin.

James McConnachie

That’s a straw man argument and not a paradox. For example, in Germany there was an infamous movement that actively discouraged ‘foreign ideologies’. An ideology that espouses etho-nationalism and keeping certain cultures out echoes that. It’s got a term - extreme right wing. I don’t want that at Rangers and it seems that the club don’t either. If it’s not for you (and by that I mean supporters who feel that message should be part of the club’s identity) then vote with your feet. Personally, the image of muslim and lbgtq folk waving a Union flag would go a long way to counteract the narratives that seek to divide people and isolate. All Rangers are doing is explicitly saying ‘you are welcome here’. As the UK is probably stepping up to protect Europe and freedom from tyranny again the 🇬🇧 may find itself back in fashion. We have to look forward to a flag of union in the truest sense.

Stephen

Are you being serious? Who in your opinion should not be welcome at Ibrox? The banner didn’t make any sense either.

Angela Frater

OMG it was my son that hung the air fresheners 🤣🇬🇧🤣🇬🇧 they actually came out of my car as we have a stock of them at home to replace with (buy in bulk off Ebay folks 👍🏻👍🏻) so he took them as protection in much the same way as garlic to a vampire 🤣🤣 I have photo evidence of him hanging them up too 🤣🤣

paul wallace

Potentially shutting the copland Rd which locks out the fans who didn't want the UB in there in the first place, we didn't ask for this but could pay the price for it

James McConnachie

Greenlims. Listen. No-one should be throwing things that could injure players. However, union jack squishies. They’ll cause no injury to the wee souls. Gotta think bigger.

Angus Mackay

They’ve signed some absolute duds in Roger’s time in charge , there was a list out last Monday of all his signings , 3/4 of them I’d struggle to know who they were. & he’s spent millions on said duds The downside is the 1/4 I’ve heard of are pretty decent and winning stuff for them

Alastair McGeoch

I don’t know if it’s two seperate incidents, but I’m sure I saw footage on Twitter which is covers the few minutes preceding cery spraying the water and I’m sure a Celtic fan throws a football at Barry who picks it up and kisses it before putting it down just as you see cerny dash past him. On next season, we are going to need a bit of “bastard” in our new management team. They need to be able to feed off the bedlam should we start winning games and piling pressure on Celtic. We will be getting it from all angles again as we did when Clement first started but we need to revel in it and feed on it. That’s what the best rangers teams have done and Barry and the team did exactly that at Parkhead. I think the foreign managers we’ve had try and be too cerebral and “rise above it” where we need to embrace it if we are going to be successful domestically.

Martin Sutherland

For me its Ferguson or Gerrard. This will be a transitional period so we need a figurehead who can lead the team and knows what is expected. Personally, I’d offer Ferguson and his team a 1 year deal. He’s bite your hand off for it

Billy Jolly

Can’t understand this talk of Ferguson leaving Ibrox to gain more experience then come back. He won’t get any more experience than staying with Rangers. If Ferguson along with his management team can keep this momentum going we are on a winner.
