It’s hard to take this one. It’s not just a penalty, but also a red card. There rules state clearly it’s a penalty and he has to go. I’m not one who likes to indulge in conspiracies, but it’s hard not to believe Mourinho when he insinuated that there was some sort of shadowy attempts to make sure Bilbao wins this tournament, because after tonight it really does feel like there was match fixing going on last week and this, not to mention what went before in the tournament. The fact is though we are out, and they are through because of game changing errors. The second was a penalty if we’re going by the standards of last week, but it was never going to be given as it was for the wrong team. What really gets me is that there are far better referees out there who would never have made those decisions tonight or last week. Any other referee that is capable at this level of football would’ve awarded us at least one penalty and sent their player off. Those were the rules and they were ignored for whatever reason tonight’s referees decided to ignore them. Whether it’s incompetence or blatant corruption is open to debate, but right now like we’ve been done. The idea that there isn;t corruption in UEFA competitions has been blown wide open tonight, because when you are sitting watching someone clearly breach the laws of the game and carry on like nothing has happened then we are forced to remember that we are living in the post-truth society promote by the current so-called leader of the free world. That is the simple fact, that when people degrade facts and promote fiction as an alternative truth, then we are well and truly fucked. Sorry about the rant, chief.

Whilst there is questionable officiating over the 2 legs we cannot ignore some questionable decisions from the management. It was blatantly obvious Dessers and Cerny weren't getting us anywhere fast. Injuries apart the substitutions were baffling. Berjami and Igamane should've been on much earlier.

Who knows how things would have went if we got Dessers penalty and a red card. What I do know is this team were miles off it, we rode our luck v Fenerbache at Ibrox, and last night we got what we deserved. The season has been a shambles from the start, Hampden debacle, going out without a whimper against a shit Kiev team, we’ve lurched from one shit performance to the next. Get takeover done and hopefully the new owners start building a team the supporters can be proud of.
