Feeling Blue returns as Andy and Ross invite Alan Bradley for his therapy session to discuss Celtic 4-2 Rangers from May 1979, a game that despite being almost 43 years old still lives in the memory for all the wrong reasons.

The gents talk about life and football at the time, the highs of a treble season to the lows of losing the league at Parkhead and the impact that had on the club for years to come.

I actually listened all the way, nightmare. Why didn’t we sit in ? We did ! At 1-0;1-1;2-2. Look where it got us. The night a generations youthful innocence died. To be fair you did it justice, but some things are better left alone. I still see merdos shot going in, hoping it has hit the advertising boards, then seeing their end erupt and then the wave of noise. As I said some things better left alone.

Regularly meet wee Doddie in the Kirkintilloch RSC. Never plucked up the courage to mention that night 😇

We could be sure every member of that team felt it as painfully as we did . Those were the days

Andy Barnett

John, this is one for the ages. Only way we can appreciate future success, is by learning from disappointments of the past. 😂

Andy, As I am not in a position to materially influence future success or failure, I prefer to leave self flagellation to those from the east end. Plus me and Alan covered it a little in the 70’s series. It was the end of an era, in hindsight. Onwards and upwards.

Johnnie Mitchell

Fair play to you Alan for re living that experience

Big Al hanging off the back of a milk float with his union Jack builders hard hat on and a bottle of Eldorado, singing the Billy Boys 😂. A wee tad sad but great listening to Alan chatting about his youthful days following the Famous 👍

Alan Bradley

Just as well there were no social media clips in the 70s, I have a respectable image to protect. 😂😂

Harry Nolan

Much like Alan, this match left me emotionally and psychologically scarred. Leaving the ground that night still feels more painful than leaving the stadium after the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. Painful listen but well done to Alan for fronting up.

And to echo what John said, my recollection is that Greig had gone there looking for a draw. I'm sure when we got our 2nd we sat back rather than trying to exploit our numerical advantage.

Lee Colvin

Good show Alan.I'm with you on Joe Miller blowing kisses in the 89 cup final, sickening.

Alan Bradley

Definitely not doing a pod on the one Lee, methinks that would tip me over the edge. 😂

Alan Bradley

From the guy who would probably have been on the East Cross bus that night. 😉

Completely agree Harry. We went on the attack at 0-0 & 1-2 and scored relatively easily. Attack was the best form of defence. A draw will do us type situation, does give me the fear

Well done Alan - as a bear born in 76, this was before my time but I feel its important to also know about the disappointments that generations before have gone through as well as the highs. Should we "like" these shows? 🤔
