These press conferences are becoming increasingly painful to listen to. It’s just the same shite being spouted. And a distinct lack of responsibility being taken which adds to the overall frustration.

Paul

Spot on regarding the Oz "friendly" get it in the bin

Paul Robertson

What are the point of these press conferences. They just roll out the same old excuses and clichéd b0ll0cks

Martin Boyd

Only thing I would like to share with them is the news of their demise. As for these pressers they never change always generic answers and you are not going to get the club captain say anything else re McGregor.

Rick Roberts

Would be raging if that game happens. Will actively campaign against whoever in the club agreed to that. Insulting stuff.

Gary Q

More positively, what a tune. Great band.

John Smith

The day they acknowledge they were not a separate entity and take accountability for the victims of child sex offenders, then I’ll consider having a koombuya moment in the land of Oz

Brian Rae

We should be having nothing to do with those who harbour and cover-up paedophilia. The club can literally get fucked if this is true.

Ian Ferguson

Hilariously the club has a brand protection team… rank and file supporters rightly are furious

Kyle Kutasi

I’m in Sydney, and I’m dead against this game. We DO NOT play friendlies against that lot. We never have in 135 years. The money couldn’t possibly be worth it.

Brian Cairney

The club are absolutely miles off it if they think getting involved with ‘Ange’s homecoming’ or whatever it’s called is a good idea. There is a bigger issue here - we should be disassociating ourselves with a club who today is being charged with abuse of over 20 children.

Ryan Stewart

Absolute love Tav but man his press conferences are a hard listen. “I wouldn’t say the away form has been bad” 😳😳

Adam

The custodians of the club have a lot to answer for. Did they really sign up for 'Ange's Homecoming'? If so, why? How? And what the fuck are they thinking getting into bed with that shower of cunts? It truly does beggar belief. I'm honestly dismayed by the club at the moment. Just seem to be continually shootings ourselves in the foot on and off the park atm. Misstep after misstep. I hope our esteemed (out of touch) custodians get humbled by this. You don't get to use the term 'lifeblood' of the club to describe the fans and then spit in their eyes like this. Not in the year of our 150th Anniversary or in any other year for that matter, but the fact they've potentially signed up for this in this particular year is galling. The silence from the club is deafening as well. This isn't going away and it's only going to get worse. Walk away from this idea and apologise to the fans, to the lifeblood of the club. Or be prepared to suffer the consequences.

Andrew

Cant believe we signed Ramsey to get past Annan Athletic in the cup 😭😭

Stephen Grant

Rangers cannot under any circumstances partake in this , associating with that club out with leafy duties is unacceptable

Spoon

Tell them to bolt, we no more want associated with them the man they us. Great song btw👍🏻

@bluebeans

‘Everyone is chipping in with goals’ - no they aren’t.

thomas mcewan

We can now predict what is going to be said in these press conferences, would like to ask wnen a manager says a player is unavailable to ask him why a player is not available.

Craig Mitchell

Leipzig David not Leverkusen. I knew Spartak was the best draw for everyone else. Happy Birthday to Mr Edgar. 👏

John Barr

Unbelievable own goal from the club. In what universe do even consider being part of any friendly with a club that doesn't even acknowledge your existence?

Craig Mitchell

And that is the key point for me John. I'll hold off on going ape until it's confirmed but yeah that won't go down well. Twats will probably call it the Sydney Derby or something.

8luenose1872

What the fk, how can players be injured when there was nothing wrong with them after last game, has diallo chucked it coz he is not being picked?

Max Todd

Rangers should not be defining ourselves on a global stage through our rivalry with them. Embarrassing to think we would be half of a pantomime act for cash.

Colin Mathie

Robertson better shoot this idea into the sun, its bad enough we gotta play them 4 times a season here, without having to travel halfway round the world to face them just to make some extra dough, get it binned!

Jimmy Price

Fed up hearing Tav say “we’ll learn from it”... when!?

Chris C

Get that ‘friendly’ to absolute fuck. Insulting. How unenthusiastic did Tav sound? Depressing.

David Gardner

The talk of old form games being played across the commonwealth and other markets will become a bigger talking point in the years to come, we probably need to get on board with it at some point. It’s a big money making scheme and has benefits for both clubs…. With that said this tournament if it is marketed as “Ange Homecoming” get that to fuck, we play them on our terms and conditions. I would actually support the idea of an old form game being played abroad that wasn’t a league match, I think that would be good revenue for the club…. I know a lot will disagree but it’s just an opinion.

Wes Pringle

The friendly, no way do I want that, terrible idea. Hope it turns out to be nonsense. On the presser. I’m really not getting a Rangers manager vibe from Gio. I know he’s who we all wanted when he came in but there seems to be a total lack of personality. Is he like that behind closed doors, are the players receiving the right motivation or a kick up the arse when they need it? I’m probably talking pish but it plays on my mind. We’re so weak in the league and the whole squad needs a rocket up their arse, I’m not sure they’re getting it.

PR__92

If a tournament game against Celtic is enough for fans to think about boycotting merchandise and hospitality then how can we claim to be the best fans in the world 😂

William Hughes

When this is over that cesspit at Parkhead should be razed to the ground, statues and all. The largest paedophile ring in sporting history. The Scottish administration need to widen the CSA inquiry into sporting and religious orgs. Instead of covering it up to not upset their core vote. Wtf does that say about their core vote?

Fergie

I'd be furious if our club even considered this friendly, never mind agreed to it.

Kirk Guthrie

Getting really tired of Tav repeating himself at every press conference. "We'll look forward and learn from our mistakes" pish. Like, are they told at this point before interviews to not show any sort of emotion? Going back to Gio's surprise at David's question about mentality. How can they be surprised we're asking these questions, while we're being served the same crap every week?

Heart and Hand

On pressers - there are too many. Also in modern game everyone is media trained. I've suggested pregame ones just be team news sent out in clip form and extended postmatch ones instead. But TV/radio need something to fill space so I doubt it'll change.

Glenn Butler

This match in Australia actually turns my stomach at the thought of it. I think we’ve signed up for it, or it would’ve been rubbished by now.

Elaine Campbell

I don't like Tav as a speaker I have to say. He sounds like he needs a boot up the arse and told to waken up half the time. He sounds like he's half asleep. Also - I understand they will want to keep the vibe upbeat and positive, but to actually say the words "I don't think our away form has been bad" I just can't understand that at all. If he actually believes that, then that's a very worrying stance/opinion for the Rangers captain to have. Happy birthday Mr Edgar 💙❤️

Matt Halsall

If we take part in this farce I’ll be furious

Greg

Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to be removed from the club, no way back for them.

Dean Morrison

Great questions at the Presser today David 👍

Alan

At times I wonder if Rangers have a backbone, and that's not just directed at the team but the board too. And this is one of those times.

Fraser Ritchie

Who can we email at the club about this friendly? I’ll be seriously be considering my season ticket next year if that goes ahead.

Craig Cation

Ram yer "friendly" and super pissed off with our window signings the team needed first team caliber players an unfit Aaron Ramsay is not that. It reeks of a PR stunt to get exposure the club cant honestly say theyre surprised of his issues. The club have gambled yet again with champions league qualification.

William Ross

Nope not in the least bit interested us playing a 'friendly' against Celtic - in fact I am utterly appalled by even the thought of it. If it is to happen my protest will be simple - I will not buy a single piece of official merchandise between now and the time the game is played. Totally agree - celtic have announcement their involvement in this tournament to try and distract attention from today's news about their boys club - they are an entirely shameless organisation - imagine taking a stance for YEARS that they are a seperate entity from their boys club and then going up in front of a judge and saying we have no evidence of our claim but the case should be dismissed. I can only imagine their QC was mortified having to stand behind that.

Iain Codona

It looks like the masters of deflection have done it again. If it’s even remotely true, they can ram it!

Allan Osborne

I heard about this friendly this morning and thought it was a wind-up. If there's ANYTHING in this Rangers need to pull out of it NOW. This is the sort of thing I'd have expected from Green ffs! This is a club that tells people they are not half of anything, whilst protecting their share of the money pot of course. They show us no respect and they get worse with each passing year. Play that game and I will seriously worry about the soul of our club.

Allan Osborne

Also, can the press conferences not be a separate pod, or at least added at the end for those who want to endure, sorry, listen to them?

Aatlis

Tav and Gio bore me to tears. Zero charisma between them. Press conferences are a massive turn off these days. Find myself fast forwarding through all the "erm" from Gio and "you know" from tav. Maybe I'm just a grumpy bustard after yet another shite result but after enduring that repetitive nonsense I'm even more annoyed.

Graham McCallum

If Rangers go anywhere near this fucking Anges homecoming shite we must make the board realise we cannot be a part of this 😡

Rona Bluebell

That tweet, “we’re not half of anything”. Aye? Well get to fuck then. Here and in Australia.

Gordon McCool

I live in Australia, I haven’t seen Rangers in person since 2007, this ‘friendly’ can go and get f**ked. I will not go and watch us play those rancid b*st*rds that can’t even say our name.

Colin McL.

I don’t know about Australia but given our attendances for friendlies in Canada & the US, there is very limited interest. The global brand expansion is a fantasy. The only way to reach people is European success (includes CL group participation) and a domestic league worth watching.

Douglas Hannah

Needs to be made clear to the board the supporters don’t want anything to do with this rabble, cannot mention Rangers by name, don’t put our name on their programme, not half of anything. Bin this nonsense now, ps Happy Birthday Tommy.

Graham Jones

I’d rather our club not take part in this tournament. I’m not going to boycott, but it does raise questions about a board who would entertain participating in what is clearly a Celtic marketing jamboree to Australia. It will be a stitch up, and David Graham must realise this, and therefore he has to say something before this board drag us over at Celtic’s pleasing. Don’t be kidded, they know the ‘Old Firm’ tag will sell better over there, so they want this to happen more than us. To be brutally honest, I’d rather we kept our distance from their tarnished reputation as a whole. If you lie down with flees, and all that.

Brian Carrick

I can’t believe how out of touch the board are with the feelings of the fans. No way should we be playing them in a friendly.

Billy Forrester

Robotic responses from Tav and Gio, if they can’t see this team has problems they are clowns. Ramsey signing looking like a joke with games fast running out for him, looking like a big flop at moment. Another thing that’s annoying me is we constantly pump high balls into the opposition box and we never hardly ever win a header, it’s pointless and the opposition lap it up as we have zero aerial threat.

John Walker

As a Bear in Australia all i can say is fuck off to this match . No way can we let that manky mob obtain any benefit by using our club. Wise up Rangers the fans are not happy.

Jock Paterson

Personally, I’d support the sporting wing of the paedophile ring being shut down completely and the term ‘old firm’ confined to history.

Richie

Just can’t get my head round why anyone at Rangers would think this is a good idea. They tried to wipe us off the face of the planet we should have ZERO to do with them, f’Ing friendly you’re seriously misread the room here Rangers

Paul Kerr

The optics today are bad for the club. Radio silence and we've got announcements from other clubs and the A league all marketed as this tribute to Ange, we blow the league title and it will get even worse. Even if it was like last season in France where we were there but didn't actually play each other I'd still be against it because of the PR side. To be a side show in our own 150th year is nothing short of an insult and I think whoever pushed for this should resign, it's that big of a mistake. **Edit** Now we've made an announcement and it's framed that a couple of million quid for 2 games is all we should care about. Wow.

Will14

Absolutely sickened at this decision to play a "friendly" with the cretins who deny that we even exist on the 150th anniversary. Just canceled my RTV subscription, MyGers will be next and possibly wont renew my season ticket as I'm literally that angry.

Tommy

Hi David, currently a little bit torn on the Sydney Cup situation. On one hand in agreement with all you say. On the other, it’s a dream for Rangers to be coming over for me and fellow bears over here. Looking at generally feeling from the major RSC’s in Oz, there is mixed views but it does seem to be a lot more positive. It means a lot to bears here. Now where I think we critically went wrong is in not having control/approval for the wording and comms. You know how bands argue where they sit on the posters for festival line ups? We should have ensured that the comms was not about Ange, the Hoops, Glasgow Derby etc. In fairness, the only ‘official’ post hasn’t taken this approach. I think our PR guys need to get active on this and ensure the comms engage our support and are not for the benefit or whims for others. Get Moore and Muscat (Both major media figures in Oz) to invest time to drive RFC PR to compete with the Ange onslaught. Maybe worth chatting to a few Oz and NZ bears to get their take? Big Gordon, Glenn etc. There does seem to be a split, where nobody denies some of the key messages you and others make but without the same levels of anger. It’s a tough one.

David

And if they scum win the title and we go over to fat Angela's country it will be like a love in and the players and staff would need to roll over for it. They can fuking ram that so far tae fuk.

Chris Jenkins

It’s a tough one indeed. I’d rather it wasn’t happening the way it is, but will be very pleased to see Rangers in Sydney given I’m in Perth. There’s no question of me boycotting with a 13 year old son who only wants to see the Rangers and has never seen them before. I’d prefer given my circumstances if people would not try and apply pressure to not attend. But I think it’s inevitable that will occur.

Alastair McGeoch

With this news and the displays on the pitch it feels like we are lacking leadership at all levels of the football club. When we should be regrouping and focusing on winning a tight title race we are now distracted with this rubbish.
