One hopes Faslane deploy the subs more efficiently than Rangers

George Cook

Keep believing ❤⚽️💙

Neil 55

Lucky hoggy managing to dodge watching that rubbish.

CRAIG CASSELLS

There are 6 or 7 of these players getting run into the ground. 5 matches on the trot for Arfield and it there for all to see he is struggling badly, has contributed virtually nothing in last two games. Aribo and Kent are others who could do with a rest. Is it fair to say the lack of subs is an indication that Gio has no faith in our squad players, also further indication of our poor January window where Gio was given no additional bodies to help get us across the line

Graeme Inglis

if gio is trying to make a point about recruitment with the lack of subs we’re using things could start to get ugly

James

The thing that strikes me is we can all see the players are knackered but the manager not only doesn’t put any subs on, but he doesn’t even choose any of his own signings. That has got to be a huge worry. I’m not suggesting he blindly plays them but if he doesn’t trust players he signed then we have a further problem.

Euan Dover

If we were up against a semi decent team there we would have been in trouble. Performances like that just don’t give you confidence this team and manager will go on a winning run.

Colin Munro

very noticeable tonight that there was no "Gio..Gio..Giovanni..Giovanni" from the either end of the ground tonight

Stephen Grant

Awful tonight but at least 3 points , but the lack of substitutions is amazing and so frustrating.

Tom

Well that was a thing that happened.😴

KAD87

Manager is having a fucking mare. Demonstrating his stubbornness to prove a point. Why do that to the players when he has no choice but to play them again on Saturday? Unless he has a plan to change drastically for Aberdeen, he has just been a total bellend for no reason.

Brian Rae

Kamara mentioned in his Sky interview that the pitch "took it out of the players." It'll be Interesting to see the lineup on Saturday. Here's a question, has Arfield ever started this many consecutive games for us since he signed? By my maths that's the last 8 games that includes the two Dortmund games.

Doug Young

Awful game. Some players knackered after ten minutes. Any half-decent side would have buried us. The subs thing is insane, just insane.

Allan

I'm very worried about the weekend now. This team is at its best when it is on the front foot and attacking with pace and high pressing to win the ball back. Our best players don't look cable of having the energy levels right now to play that way.

Gordon Smith

Still gutless. Got the three points which is fine but can’t see signs of the change we need to seriously challenge.

Brian Smith

Think the pitch played more of a part than we think. Players looked scared very quickly which led to the extra touches. Some passes were struggling to reach there target too. Like playing through lumpy treacle. Still doesn’t take away from the lack of subs mind you…

David Simpson

Your analysis of the game was 100x more exciting than the game itself!

8luenose1872

If gio keeps this no changes shite up he will cost us the league for sure.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Could we ask Gio why he doesn’t like making subs when players are blowing out of their arses?

Brian McLatchie

Haven't listened yet and based on title agree game was poor but fist game I have watched in close to 2 months that I was confident we would not concede goals as the game progressed

John Buchan

Just ask the question on Friday . Why are we not using our bench do you not trust them?

David Sullivan

What is wrong with Davis I feel like he has been hurt since Gerrard left

Steff Clarke

The Sydney Super Cup puts all the NZ/Aussie bears in a very difficult position (the Ange Homecoming stuff is Celtic marketing not from Oz). For many it's a once in decades, or for families perhaps once in a lifetime to see the Famous in the flesh. Its fair to see a split forming down under, and I'm really worried that it will split the support on those who go and those that don't, which may damage the viability of some of the RSCs down here. I genuinely don't know whether to book flights or not. What I do know some will definitely go, as it also might be their first chance to travel after 2 years of Covid travel bans in NZ, and some will be vociferous in their opposition. A really awful dilemma for us to be honest.

Graham Jones

I’m wondering if the manager is sending a message to the board about his squad here. I remember Gerrard doing something similar when he left seats in the bench empty for a European tie, when he didn’t think any academy player had earned the right to be there. Maybe GvB is simply saying to the board that what he has is not strong enough for depth. Still, it was odd he made none at all. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow at the presser.

Richard

Just let it go and concentrate on supporting the club.

Scott Watson

That's not realistically a question that Gio can/would answer if asked in those terms - he's never going to come out and say "X is worse than a man short, I'd rather bring myself on" or "I was going to bring Y on but I could see he was bricking it on the bench and he gave me the fear"

Graeme Price

Does Gio get a Manager's bonus for the least amount of players used? As far as refereeing, quite obvious he had to wait until it was a Rangers player to give the first yellow. Bitter old arsehole in the twilight of his career. If there's anything to look forward to, silence the sheep!

Brian Moore

Can’t see us going to the end of the season without dropping points. We are gonna drop a lot more points. We are a team who struggle to do the basics in defence. Defensive we are very poor. I watched how some of them deal with balls in the danger area.

Kris

So what, he never made a sub! Support the team on the pitch.100%..

Al-WATP

Apart from the “you can shove your fuckin friendly up your arse” song, the song book tonight was an absolute embarrassment, anti-catholic songs one after the other for all to hear.

David Watson

Easy to make subs when 6 points ahead, far more pressurized when 3 behind. Courage required to change it up mid game now, I just hope Gio can find it.

Andy Gray

He’s running the team on the pitch into the ground! It’s not outrageous to expect him to manage the squad better especially with a last 16 Europa tie in a week’s time as well as trying to keep within touching distance of that lot.

Kris

He sees the players at training daily, I agree players look jaded but all the white noise going on in the back ground regarding subs and friendlies doesn’t help the team on the pitch.... that includes the UB’s first half song book.

Stewart Robertson

Who would you have subbed and when game was never over and I don’t think subs at 80+ minutes would make any difference to the players coming off

Derek Stewart

The songbook last night from the support was a disgrace, an element of our support are a total embarrassment to the decent supporters among us.

Fraser Martin

All this stuff (tactics, songbook, internecine fighting) comes out when the team are struggling. Really need to get some domestic performances together or the roof could fall in.

Martin Mcinnes

What's perplexing me is they all wear these, fitness monitors for heart rates, red zones etc. If there flagging up as cunted take them off, if anything for their own safety and well fair as don't want another Christian Erikson situation, if there not flagging up, then is it psychological if so that's a bigger worry they should want to be winning titles for prestige of playing Champions league, cup finals, and not being a shitbag when it matters, seen a drop off after Jan 3 out of last 4 season with largely the same group

Robert

When Gio first arrived one of the podders interviewed a Feyenoord fan and not using subs was one of the criticisms he made of Gio. So he has previous for this.

PR__92

Some of our fans are constantly bringing our club down it needs to change its 2022 the board made a decision fans took the huff and started singing they songs do it in Sat it ruins the anniversary game and do it Thurs and it will result in a stadium closure the union bears do more harm than good

Martin Davies

The songbook wasn't good, and it was definitely intended to be 2 fingers to the board. But this is not the way to influence the club and does nothing for the image of the support. I don't think the club will see this as acceptable, and I wouldn't be surprised if the UB find their away tickets removed - deservedly so I my opinion.

Andrew Whiteside

I was cringing listening to it last night. Songs of a bygone age and should be no where near our club.

Andrew Whiteside

On the subs, on that pitch Wright and Sakala not an option as the run with the ball and can’t pass on a good pitch. Lowry for me not in a game that tight, Roofe would end up injured. And unless an injury you don’t change defence. So tired or not given the options for me the 11 on the park were the best available. I think Gio is attracting criticism for not being Stevie G. He has come in mid season with a squad in need of change. Criticism is fine but needs to be measured.

Alan Stewart

The hamper is back!! Tremendous news
