A special episode on a special day as the young bears rip apart Celtic at Ibrox.

Ross and James provide full and extended coverage of the game and post-match press conferences, along with a special guest appearance from Joshua Barrie.

Some of the audio in the post match presser is pretty low due to distance away from the speakers.

Great coverage lads, love to hear your passion for it. Brilliant. In your opinions, with these boys doing so well just what kind of level are they now (premier League, championship........?) and how realistic is it that we'll be seeing some of them making the jump to be featuring in our 1st team? Maybe not regularly at first but certainty in about the bench and getting minutes in important games. (Probably thinking Lowry, McCann, King but also Weston, Fraser, McKinnon and the likes). Cheers boys and well done again. 👍🏻

Rona Bluebell

We’ll done to everyone involved. Great result for them (and us).

Sandy

Excellent as always guys (apart from the issues with volume/quality at the interviews) Your enthusiasm is infectious, my only worry in having such a glut of quality is just how many will manage the next, biggest, step

Sandy

Oh and I too would love to see the B Team strutting their stuff at Ibrox rather than at Dumbarton

Doug Maclean

I have loved watching the B team on RTV but it was very special to see the full team in action today Not a disappointing performance by any player although Hogarth might as well have brought a book to read in goal Lots will be made of individual performances but for me it was the defence working with the midfield working with the attack that was so impressive. How many times did the defenders have the confidence to take a ball off the attackers toes then look for the pass to retain possession and build an attack. Sometimes that took 4 or 5 passes - all one touch and using the angles to play round a bemused Celtic As for using Ibrox more often you have to remember that the prices were £10 and £5 concession. The policing was ridiculous for a game with no opposition fans. I saw one van of “reserve” police sitting off Edmiston Drive and groups of police in and around the stadium. I’ve run big events and this level of policing (on time and a half rate) is typical. There is no justification and it is very likely done to put the club off doing it on a regular basis. We have Auchenhowie with a spectator stand. Let’s play home games there One final point. Yfeko only came on for 15 min at left centre half but he is very impressive. A great day out and congratulations to all involved 👋👋

I thought the boy Murray Miller was a standout , as were Lowry and McCann , the boy McAusland looked good . On the boy Yfeko he is a unit , he had a tackle and you could hear the noise of the collision, the Celtic player was still vibrating five minutes later . Good watch and they looked a good group of lads . On where to play the games , why not play at Tintoretto park ( home of the bens) .It is located in our home area (Govan) and may well be easier for fans to get to.

Took both my daughters today for their first match and they absolutely loved it….I would be astonished if this boy Lowry doesn’t go onto have some career…best player on the park by some distance and I just hope the Club are sitting down with this boys agent and getting him tied down as it would be a travesty for this boy to go into the last year of his contract and leave for buttons

Gary Shaw

Absolutely David…we always moan about not having a proper player to unlock defences and it turns out we could have one right under our noses…not been this excited about a youngster for some time and every time we do get a boy that breaks through it always seems to be a defender/sitting midfielder type, never a dynamic attack minded player.

Thank you Davie!! The level is an interesting one, Lowry for instance is so obviously a premiership player and a cut above anything else at that level. Weston is still really young but there really isn't anything more he can do to make the case for allowing him to take that next step. My personal opinion is that we should be giving them the opportunity to make the step up first and if that doesn't work out then look at a loan (rather than the other way about which is more antiquated). I'm not a huge fan of the loan system for us, I have serious doubts about how much benefit we get from it. Having said that right enough it has its uses, McCallum has always said to us that different players have different development plans, ala Algeria going on loan to Partick.

Ross Hutton

Thank you Sandy! Yeah I can only apologise for that, in that press room it was a nightmare trying to pick up the audio and McCallum is a quiet enough guy at the best of times 😁. There's a few key ones in there who have like Lowry, McCann and King and then players who haven't yet made the step up but I would like to see do so like Weston, Fraser and Devine. McCausland is a cracking wee player as well but his decision making can be a bit Jekyll and Hyde.

Ross Hutton

Thank you Doug glad you enjoyed it!! Agree about the team, It was an incredibly cohesive performance and really the epitome of everything that they try and do with the B Team. Like I said on the pod though and you'll know yourself - we always try to maximise quick transitions to get balls in behind, so why on earth Celtic were continually trying to push their fullbacks up and then seem surprised when we were constantly getting in behind I'll never know. Agree about Yfeko as well, he's incredibly calm on the ball and is great at winning it back high up the pitch. A real decent talent there. That's interesting you mentioned the police there, when we were sitting in the press room there were a few police outside and I remember thinking that it looked like overkill but I didn't realise they had a van of reserves as well.

Ross Hutton

Murray was excellent yesterday that role really suits him and he was a large part of why Celtic just couldn't get anything going at all. Don't think I've ever felt sorry for a Celtic player but I wouldn't fancy being 3-0 down at Ibrox while being rattled by Yfeko I can say that much 😂 Hadn't thought of Tintoretto Park actually! Got to be a few options on the table for the club, no way can we be playing at Dumbarton again next season it's a riot.

Ross Hutton

Thats magic Gary I'm glad they loved it, if they keep that good luck charm up please keep bringing them 😁 Lowry is the future but I think he's showing he can be a large part of the present as well. You're spot on he absolutely needs to be offered a new and improved deal, just unthinkable that we wouldn't. There's a few in the B Team with contracts to 2023/2024 so there might be a fair raft of new contracts getting handed out in the nearish future.

Gary Shaw

Cheers Ross👍….Contemplating sneaking them in on the 3rd of April to be honest 😂….On Lowry,I just think he’s so different mate..there’s a few others who look decent but you need something more than just decent to get in our first team and I think Lowry has it in spades👍

David Clapperton

Thanks for your reply Ross. I agree with your point about the loan system. I feel that in most cases loans are used as more of a "shop window" for players on their way out of the club rather than any kind of development method, however harsh that sounds. Very few over the years have came through at the club after a loan. There's always the exception but it does seem their chances diminish greatly when they go outside the club.

Gazza G

Interested in your thoughts about Weston. He does not have the physicality to play the Morelos role for the first team. What’s his position in the first team when a player line Roofe is even struggling for game time?

Gazza G

Disagree about playing every home game at ibrox. The pitch would get destroyed by 3 games every week. Tinto is the place with a bit of investment. Training centre no use for capacity and access.

William Findlay

Gary , I remember when Murray said he bought Moor Park from the ants and said he was going to turn it into a mini Ibrox (single tiers) but turned out to be a lie and he turned it into a business park .The games at the training centre would be logistically hard for a person relying on public transport. Would love to watch the B team at Tinto park (Tintoretto as we govanites it 😂).
