People will always think you are firmly on one side David if you ignore massive talking points like the actual content of that statement. Ignore the issue, it looks like it was drafted by a child and has added further embarrassment to the issue. I'm loathed to believe this was DG and I am siding with the fact its more likely a knee-jerk reaction of those with the most clout. If it was DG then he's clearly not fit enough to be in that position. A statement - if it had to be made - could have taken the sting out of this. We failed miserably.

Good update David, this is poor behaviour by both sides. I have no idea why Club1872 felt in necessary to put that out today, but the clubs response is even worse. I hope this is actually the point both sides realise they need to sit down and sort out their issues at it will do none of us any good to be embroiled in a Civil War at what could possibly be one of the greatest seasons ever in our history

I think you’re spot on mate. This situation is poisonous and the opposite of what’s needed. I also think that it’s commendable to try & shift the focus to the team when you have a platform of this size/presumably some opinions of your own. Especially whilst the others around you are trying to drag you into them beating the shit out of each other. At least someone’s trying to point out what’s important in all of this. Get this right to f*ck until the summer and then deal with it behind closed doors LIKE ADULTS. Also. Cancel the friendly.

The 1872 statement is a hilariously transparent attempt to push King's agenda against the board. The response from the club is absolutely embarrassing, and someone has to go over it. If David Graham wrote or okayed that statement, then he's failed in his duty. If someone's gone over his head, then they need to lose theirs. And it if came from one of the big shareholders then we really are in bother.

I expect such pettiness from Club 1872 - but not from Rangers. The club statement is shambolic and reads like an emotional Facebook post penned by a jilted partner who has indulged in a few too many glasses of Prosecco on a Friday night.

Few point on the issues mentioned. 1. MyGers any 1 who couldn't see this was a money maker for the club and was the only reason it was launched rightly or wrongly then they cant understand how business works to make as much money from its customers as possible and make it look like the best deal possible for the customer and thats what the board see us as as customers of RFC. 2. C1872 I have never been a contributor to it as I have never 100% whole heartedly trusted the people in charge ov it and i think they have a bee in there bonnet as they aint as well subscribed to before and even after the legacy issue they raised. And also the whole legacy buying DK shares would it not benefit if that money went directly to the club rather than to buy DK shares. Regarding DK and his shares I remember he said he would not get the money back he invested in getting the club back off the wrong ones. Clearly he always had the intentions to get the money back through C1872 makes sense why he wanted them represented all the time while chairman. 3. C1872 statement I think it's poor they have now with all intents and purposes became DK puppet he has used them to fire the bullets while sitting back in SA then if C1872 end up with egg on there face then he can say its nothing 2 do with me. Regarding the Rangers board statement for me I would just have ignored the C1872 1 and waited to respond to it. 4. Australia trip should never have been agreed to and should be cancelled. Before any1 shoots me down for saying this commercially and financially it makes sense to do it as it could be 4, 5 or even 6 weeks with no footfall in Ibrox no mass crowds at the shop, no rangers lotto, programmes sold, no hospitality. So I see the reasons why it's been explored and agreed to but I 1000% don't agree with or hope it goes ahead. I get some people won't agree with me on some or on all my points that's cool but thats just what I think regarding it.

The whole thing is ridiculous now for the sake of the team I dont want anyone to mention Sydney statements and all the other negative stuff until the after the last game of the season I doubt it will happen but fingers crossed

Club 1872 are trying to exploit genuine supporters concerns by grouping it with their own long-standing personal gripes, anyone that can't see that, or worse does their dirty work for them by attacking the club with a scatter gun approach, can't say they have the best interests of our club at heart.

I thought by reading both statements I was focusing on the content. Especially when my argument is ‘you’re both in the wrong - stop it’. Totally respect your position David and the fact that one of our own was responsible for the Daily Record story is disgusting. But for me personally, I’m with Club 1872 on this. The board have proven Dave King right quite a lot recently. The Sydney tournament, Gerrard’s comments earlier this season hinting that he wasn’t getting backed. It just seems clear to me who’s being honest here. Again just my opinion and if anyone thinks differently I absolutely respect it 👍 We’re all Rangers fans after all 🇬🇧

Heard the pod sounded great. I think there should be a unity of purpose this season to place every sinew of effort to win the title and progress in Europe. Think Club1872 h have every right to demand action on the Australian debacle , the accusations of corporate contempt never resonated with me previously. The Rangers executive have provided a perfect platform to confirm what Club1872 have outlined . That they don’t fully engage with their support . I don’t think it’s acceptable to label the Club1872 representatives as a cabal or clump. They are the third biggest shareholder in the club, are they not? The board simply can’t sweep this fact away. They represent supporters . That said,the supporters need to trust the commercial vision of the board , to maximise revenues . Some things will always be unpalatable. They are successful in business for a reason. Just scrap the Aussie tour.

Whoever wrote that childish, ridiculous statement and whoever allowed its release should be shown the door. An embarrassing failure of leadership and highlights the unsuitability of certain people in the communications role. Club 1872 have become an irrelevance but they do make some good points and have came out the winner, if there is such a thing in this farce. Our club is far too big and important for so many for any one single ego and those that try to test this, should be reminded their place.

Also my concern is that this shambles will affect the players, do you feel that Management Team will be able to shield the players from this and concentrate on the games? Can you see the Friendly being cancelled anytime soon? Wish we could just focus on the field and what we all want the various teams to achieve.

Anyone who puts their own interests before that of the club, or thinks their own ambitions are what matters, can f*** off and get as far away from Rangers as possible. Nobody EVER has been more important than Rangers, and nobody ever will be. And that still stands regardless of the role and regardless how much money they have spent. Today is embarrassing and should never have happened. The club should only make one more statement, saying the Australia trip is cancelled immediately and that any other off field issues will be discussed and addressed after the season has ended. Have we still not learned that we have real enemies out there, and those are the ones who benefit most from us fighting amongst ourselves?

Club 1872 have made some valid points re the my gers scheme and the lack communication from the board to them, especially as they are major shareholders. However I question the timing of their statement at such a critical point in the season. It looks to me that they are using the anger from the Sydney fiasco to score points. Both sides need to leave their egos at the door and work for the best interests of Rangers.

Personally I'm 100percent behind the statement from c1872 and I think the timing is fine when there's two weeks to let things calm down. It's been clear that when the SLO's dad ran a smear campaign on volunteers trying their best to gain a sizable chunk of the Rangers at board level that their has been politics at play. Unfortunately it looks like the divide and conquer has worked as we have no chance of gaining that share now.

I agree with the vast majority, embarrassing from 1872 and the at the club at the worst possible time. We are on the verge of a historic season. I can see both sides including the Oz trip but this should be thrashed out in private. I for one am happy to replace the lost income from Oz with our own home friendlies and a fan fund. Let's get solution focused bears, all together!

"Nobody wants to hear anything from the board at the moment other than "We've cancelled the friendly, sorry" To me it look an awful lot like opportunism to position themselves in the support's mind as anti-board when the board-fanbase relations are at their lowest point Call me cynical, but I expect the strategy is to hope for bad results in April. Dissatisfaction with the board will naturally increase and anyone already in the news as "anti-board" will benefit The Club 1872 statement references "evidence" and "documents" about supporters being deliberately misled by the club. If they have this, they should publish it

Neither C1872 or the board come out of this with any credit. As a former contributor to C1872, I know that they are not in a position to talk about transparency and dialogue - this is exactly what they don't offer their members. They have some valid points, but they completely lack credibility. The board have messed up with the friendly and the continued silence is unacceptable. Also, the statement is unprofessional and confrontational. The average Rangers fan now sits in the middle with no voice, no seat at the table whilst these 2 factions spout verbal diarrhoea. This does nothing to attract investors or partners, it does nothing to increase C1872 membership, it does nothing to help the manager and the team. I thoroughly disgusted with both C1872 and the board today. Keep the head up David.

This is our 150th year, and neither side has covered themselves in glory. Ra Scoatish mhedia will be wanking themselves silly over these statements. Focus on the team winning their remaining games and recognising that we solely have raised Scotland’s coefficient since 2018! After watching them being so calamitous off the field last year, and us being the opposite, that we are now so divided off the field is baffling and serious review needed on this with clear heads once the season is over. We seem to be squabbling over everything from ticket allocations to friendlies to supporters to signings etc etc, and it is a truly worrying situation at such a crucial time. Get a truce, get United and then sort it out down the line, club need to be the bigger person here for the good of the overall goal in my view

I’m so sick of al this shit, and I’m guessing you are having to cover it. When we should be talking about the football that’s been and the football to come, we are talking about statements that I think were too aggressive in nature for it to yield conciliatory talks, and trying to stay neutral in club politics. I know this is all part of a big club at times, just look to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd and how the internal politics with directors, presidents and supporters plays out, but it’s now reaching a point where it’s becoming a distraction. Sure, they did wait till the international fortnight to break cover, but it’s something that can easily roll over into the resumption of the season. We have to be able to separate what are real live issues, and make sure they aren’t conflated with point scoring from both sides, over what is clearly about egos and personality clashes. The answer might be that there has to be casualties on both sides, because their statements aren’t leaving much space for peace talks.

Good coverage David, well summed up. C1872 are merely puppets now for King, their credibility is shot. Their aim is solely to try and get King his money back, they’ve been clear on this. It’s not about the club for them. And whoever wrote the statement on the official site should be removed from the club immediately. Amateurish nonsense.
