Sound quality is great!

Rod

The ref debate in Scottish football is boring as fuck, people just aren't interested in it.

Jack Mair

Correction David WE ARE THE OPPOSITION😂 might be harsh but I’d go McLaughlin for the next few games could see a massive difference in our game when a keeper comes to collect and playing from the back

Martin Davies

Du du du du 🎵🎵 Glasgow Rangers!!! It's been playing on a loop in my head all day!

Chris Brash

Still laughing at Maeda and the crisp poke 😂

Ross

I never knew Andy could sound so clear. For years I just thought that his voice was that crackly way. Very good sound quality.

Alastair McGeoch

Talk about the dark arts, not sure what the Celtic players and fans are complaining about. That was their game at ibrox, any time there was a turnover in possession and we came away with the ball the fouled us immediately and Collum allowed them to throughout. Yesterday, they got the exact same treatment back and could not handle it.

One of the defining differences for me between Gerrard and Gio has been how Gio responds to setbacks, difficulties or challenges. Particularly in Europe think his tactical changes and substitutes have overall worked excellently. I believe with more time with the players and the chance to add some of his own this will only improve and next season (if not the end of this one with the two cups) we will see some truly special stuff!

Brian Rae

The thing I think we should take away from this result is that GVB appears to have sussed out tactically how to play against them. That was the only hurdle we needed to clear as their manager won't change how they play. We totally nullified their dangerous players for most of the game and our players all won their personal battles. Long may it continue.

What a flagship, so many wonderful points The January sliding doors of Scouse John The signature domestic victory for Gio The timeless game management of Steven Davis The understated McLaughlin factor Has Gio perhaps done something that Gerrard never quite twigged and actually taken advantage of the shambles of scottish referees by deliberately living close to the edge in a way that you would never get away with in Europe? Maybe it was just the battle fever but there was a definite difference between the Braga game and the "Glasgow Derby" against "The Opposition." Advocaat famously talked about being "professional" and that stereotypically pragamatic, ruthless Dutch way. Is this another case of that? Rather than just raging about the standard, play the cards you've got available to whatever advantage you can

What now for McGregor? A dilemma for Gio. Someone on Twitter says a guy at Ibrox calls McGregor Dracula as he’s scared of crosses. 😆 Humour often holds a note of truth though. On this, I wait to see how Gio calls it. Rather him than me as I’m conflicted.

Doug Young

Great listen. I gave rousing cheers to both of those Maclaughlin double-punches late on. Great easing of pressure.

I see Martyn isn't on the pod, I take it he is still a little delicate after celebrating yesterdays triumph🍻🍺👍

GT

Good pod. Do you think Gio’s ET subs were all injury/legs related or was he going for to win it in ET? I noticed most of who would have taken a penalty (Roofe, Borna etc) were subbed and pleased he didn’t leave Roofe on running on empty just in case it went to penalties, even if looking at the 11 that finished other than Tav and maybe Arfield I’m not sure who would have taken the other penalties! Irrelevant consideration now thankfully, not sure my heart would have taken it

I remember having some pretty big preconceptions about the type of players Gio would end up liking or improving massively prior to his first few games in the hot seat. I thought players like Hagi and Kamara would go up a level, now obviously Hagi was clearly a player Gio fancied upon arrival at Ibrox, before injury put paid to that. Kamara has had a poor season by his standards overall, by that I mean, he's lacked a game in which he had total control over or that he ran the midfield in imo. While Gio was waiting in the wings, I was sure he'd love Kamara due his technical ability and the Arsenal connection etc. However, I did not see the absolutely staggering improvements in the likes of Lundstram and Bassey coming. Bassey still has his dozy moments, but that's mainly an age and lack of experience thing. Other than that, he's been immense at LB and CB at times for us, predominantly in huge games too. Big John Lundstram, has been transformed in Gio's set up, complete turn around in fortunes in his Ibrox career. From looking set to leave in January, to the first name on the team sheet and bossing the midfield in Europe within a few months. I've never seen anything like it before tbh. Lundstram brings so much more than just footballing ability to the party. It's been a while since we've had a player with that grit and character in midfield. Jack has a nasty streak in him, but Lundstram is a different animal altogether, not just snarling at Celtic players but up in Madden's face and getting in his ear all of Sunday afternoon. Never been happier to be completely wrong about a player before.

Graeme Price

KT was trolling Sutton throughout the game. Best line when the wee girl had fingers in her ears, go back and watch 🤣 "Even she's sick of listening to ye"

Dougie

Fuck off 🤣🤣🤣 that's not smooth Andy 😎😎

Neil Casey

Wonderful lads. Drinking in their pain. Re the Refereeing and them, Andy is correct - it needs calling out. They just aren't used to losing because of their free run at trophies since 2012. They're a disgrace.

Colin Mathie

Our domestic league season has been shit, lets be honest.

Colin Mathie

McLaughlin gets the rest of the season bar the euro semi/final if we make it + the Scottish cup final.

Doug Young

I loved watching Lundstram in his Sheff Utd heyday; a rampaging beast (who got me loads of Fantasy points), so was really excited about his arrival. His first appearances he seemed to gravitate to right-back (where he played at Sheff U) and got in Tav's way. The reinvention of him as a dominator, in CM or at the back has to be to the credit of the coaching team and he is really back up towards where he can be.

A flagship of a flagship show, thanks David, Andy & Ross, brilliant show. A perfect summary & great points raised and views aired. Totally agree with Andy the backlash after Ibrox OF loss / toward Gio was OTT and the points you all raised re signature win, tactics, adaptability etc show we must trust in Gio. He has progressed this team, and many players in a very short time. The Ibrox OF result skewed the opinion of many(most!?) - we lost the match, but we were NOT 'beaten'. Take out the 2 self inflicted freebie goals conceded and the overall play & tactics were not much different than Sunday. Watch it back! Big John As Ross said, shows exactly why the support need to give new guys time. Seems was targeted by the boo boys for having the highest wage. Good pre & early season games. Stupid tackle vs Alashkert (maybe trying too hard?) Didn't do much else wrong, couple of goals, a few MoTM performances under Gerrard. Played out of position for the good of the team cos was asked to. Trying to settle in to team, style & the weight of the jersey. Incidentally our previous Gaffer knows EXACTLY what it takes to be a combative centre midfielder at the very highest level. StevieG knew what he was buying. Gio did not make any significant changes to the 'current' starting XI he inherited. JL was out it at the time. Now showing us what StevieG saw in him and Gio has put it on the park. Goalkeeper. Greegs is a legend, end of! However the way the GK position is played has evolved a lot, particularly the last 5 years. Instinct & 'muscle memory' of 20 years doing it right the 'old' way is difficult to unlearn. Jon McLaughlin. Remember waaaay back to the start of last season and that clean sheet record? He was the man between the sticks! Will get even better with game time. Cheated never defeated as usual eh! My grandad told me back in the 70s 'If they played in a league that was only them vs their reserves, they'd still find stuff to complain about'😄

Rona Bluebell

Good shout. I was roughly trying to add up the Europa profits (circa 10 million with TV rights) plus if we sell Morelas etc and bring in 15-20 million, then it’s not a bad spending budget but need to spend wisely. No point spending on a keeper if McLaughlin can do the job but he needs a run to show this.

Ronnie Brown

Rumour has it that Ross has still not taken a breath. Glad to hear Davie make the Souness/Lundstram comparison. I made the same point in the car-pod thread and worried it was too outlandish. 😂

Dingus

Once again, the Phantom of the Opera is right in the face of the referee every time a foul is awarded for or against. When will referees or the SFA (no laughing) stand up to this blatant attempt to influence officials. It is a clear tactic in EVERY game and needs called out

Dingus

Absolutely spot on. At best the scum can point to a yellow card decision for big John, yet Collum turned a blind eye to a blatant Vickers handball and shirt pull for 2 penalties

Steven Barbour

Big Andy sounding terrific 👏 great pod guys

Ross Hutton

I've not, I'm legitimately scared that if I stop my voice simply won't come back 😂

Greig Massie

Andy definitely sounded different. Get his point on Lundstram being two footed but the title of most two footed Rangers player in recent years has to go to Hagi.
