Sands, the same mark as Kent, Arfield & Wright !?

Bruce Burns

Enjoyed that but thought you were generous to Roofe and harsh on Aribo. If you flip Aribo's season around so his stronger half was the latter part he'd have been on all the POTY shortlists. He should have got the same mark as Lundstram for me

George Harrison

9 for Lundstrom, 0 for Ramsey …. Fantasy Football is calling, Laura ! 🤔 And 6 for Kent due to “expectation level”, for the guy that did as much as anyone in getting us to Seville …. ridiculous ! Forget “expectation level”, that’s irrelevant, frankly another bizarre comment ….

Graeme Dempster

Did someone say hagi's form was good before he was injured?? Lol

Dingus

Sorry folks, but inconsistencies forced me to cut listening short once Kamara, Arfield and Aribo managed the same score as Sands ??? If I’m correct, also the same as Goldson - time to have a 3rd show to compare and contrast …..

Stephen A

Arfield 7 Ramsey 0 Can someone check up on Laura's wellbeing. She seems to be under the influence of some seriously mind altering drugs. 😄 Nurse! She's just given Aribo the same mark as Arfield for the season. 🤣

Gordon Millar

Laura , the Sun are on the phone with an offer to rate Rangers players next season 😂....just a wee joke, it's all about opinions and you were spot on with giving Lundstram time...Kent has to be a 7 for his key assists and the sheer panic he caused very good defenders in Europe, Ramsey 0 was harsh, it was a 50/50 chance that it would work, this is on Ross Wilson not Ramsey you cant blame the player, his football brain is still there but his body is broken......agree with most of the rest of the comments.....You could have touched on the Gio doubters when we had a bad run, I was 1 who stood by him, not his team etc and he came good....it will always be a season of what ifs, but I will never forget being in Seville and being in the stadium where my team/club came close to immortality.....

Laura

It’s not bizarre at all. When someone is better than someone else then you naturally expect more from them. It’s the same when you play a player with zero expectations on them - you naturally rate them higher due to not having a level of expectation on them at all. It happens in all walks of life. As for Ramsey, I didn’t want to sign him and I still wish we had never signed him, hence the 0, he made no difference to our side (that expectation level thing again) I won’t hide away from it, it’s my opinion, others are welcome to disagree and I’ll happily have a discussion about why I feel that way.

Laura

Sometimes when you’re recording you think about things on the spot and when you come off that you should have said. I don’t blame Ramsey, the deal was done between the clubs, but as I said I just don’t think he contributed enough! Fair comment on Kent actually - again, it’s hard to remember everything from a full season on everyone - I wanted to give half points but I wasn’t allowed!

Al-WATP

Thoroughly enjoyed the show 👍🏻🔴⚪️🔵

Scott Watson

Thanks all, very thought provoking

George Harrison

I think you missed the point of the pod i.e. to rate each players performance over the season, not to rate their performance in relation to perceived levels of expectation ! You introduced an unnecessary variable, so to give player A a lower mark than player B, even though A was better, is bizarre in the context of what the pod was trying to achieve. Perhaps you could host a separate pod comparing performance in relation to perceived levels of expectation, which will be different for each contributor. Also, the fact you didn’t want to sign Ramsey is neither here nor there, and should be completely irrelevant to your score …. if he’d won us the Europa League, would you still have given 0, just because you didn’t want to sign him ?

Andy Barnett

No, she understood the pod perfectly fine George. We welcome debate and an alternative view, as clearly mentioned at the end of the pod. But let’s not get personal in disagreement.

Andy Barnett

Kamara’s score was lower than Sands. Arfields was on average higher and Goldson even higher. Shame you didn’t listen to the end.

Laura

Well no, because then he would’ve contributed to the club, but in my opinion he contributed nothing to Rangers this season whatsoever, others will disagree, which is fine.

Gary Brown

The game is all about opinions. Thanks for sharing yours. 🙂

Gordon Masterton

Good pod and loved the debate. Weirdly harsh on Aribo and equally weirdly lenient on Hagi points wise. Agree on Roofe just yeah injured a lot and at bad times for us as well. I'd have given Kent an 8 for the season thought his marking was harsh overall. Over 20 goal contributions in a season not to mention his work rate he's seldom less than 7/10 most games and never hides. Get the expectation comment but we're out of europe and out the cup without him. Think that pass to Bassey gets forgotten about in the Bassey mania. But those are just the ones I disagreed with. Are you going to do a season expectations pod or a season preview for next year would be good to measure final performance or perceived performance versus a benchmark of what we'd expect!
