Something a bit different this week...

Colin found a list of the the weirdest and lamest job interview questions used at places like Facebook and Google so decided to give Jack a mock Job Interview.

Hear Jack answer things like:

  • If you were a pizza delivery man, how would you benefit from scissors?
  • You’re a new addition to the crayon box, what colour would you be and why?
  • How do you weigh an elephant without using a weigh machine?

and much more

This week's show reminded of the Southpark Yelp episode. Worth searching youtube for the Southpark Yelp song for a short insight into how Yelpers are treated.

I was interviewed once and had to do the Gallup test. It's a personality profiling test done in 2 phone calls with an independent assessor. It's reminiscent of the test they give replicants in the movie Bladerunner. If you ever have to do it just remember they actually want people who are willing to fuck each other over.

Jack’s first idea about weighing the elephant is right. Displacement of water. 1 litre weighs 1 kg. 1000 litres weigh 1000kg which equals 1 tonne. Know how much water is in a full tank. Elephant goes in, water spills out. Measure in litres how much water has overflowed, do the sums and you have your weight of water which equals the weight of the elephant. I’ll get me coat… 💦 🐘 ⚖️

Two questions I was asked at a 2nd interview… what was the last thing you failed at and what was the thing that made you lose your temper at work. I went blank and walked out.
