Smith arguably went through that model to some degree. Hutton and Cuellar sold to fund a rebuild. Then lost a decent player most widows after that (Thomson, Mendes, Ferguson, Boyd, Miller)

A defence of McCoist: Summer of 2012 there was a lot of chat about us going back up into the top flight the following summer as part of some sort of restructuring plan, it's one of the reasons Bocanegra went out on loan in the hope he could return the following season. We were also due to start a transfer ban from the end of the summer 2012 window to the end of the 2013 window. Guys like Black and Templeton were signed with this possibility in mind. So we wouldn't be back in the SPL with a group of kids the following season. Can't defend the 2013 strategy though when the restructuring came to nothing.

My Gers and corporate hospitality should be rewarding supporters who provide the most revenue to the club on a consistent basis . From tickets, membership schemes , or merchandise as an individual supporter. The distribution of cup final tickets fir Europe or Scottish cup indicates that this wasn’t happening . Quite honestly if your customers are providing thousands of pounds individually each year, just for the season book alone, then factor training gear, strips, restaurant bookings, club tours , it’s inconceivable for me to understand how a silver tier my Gers member, is deemed more worthy to a Europa league Ballot invite.

I would like to see Rangers design fitness centres around Scotland , based on the other gym companies . Lots of revenue to be generated , influencing positive lifestyles for supporters, think it would be an innovative idea. The Rangers Gym . This allow the club to maximise revenue creation from an emerging culture within the club. It would also compliment the social justice influencers that so inspire the great work of the Rangers Charity Foundation. Our club could be developing solutions to the health crisis of childhood obesity , osteoporosis in mature supporters , improve mental well being, and type two diabetes. That’s what exercise offers to human beings .

Great pod guys keep up the good work.

Russ

I agree with Laura on 10m being decent for Morelos. Sevilla probably think they're being generous with the 8m bid considering they could get him for nothing in January. Decent pod.

I agree with Laura re Andy Little. Can’t believe Ally didn’t seem to rate him and signed Sandaza and Kyle etc. Didn’t know about Kevin Thompson offering his services either. Imagine preferring Ian Black! What was Ally thinking?

Ally should have used the Gretna model ie. Bring in new players of a higher standard than the level you're currently in and repeat every season - except blood some youngsters who will improve every season to be ready for the top tier. NOT buy in Premier level players to win the 3rd division!
