Great update. Do we think there might be reluctance to bring bodies in as some of our youth players might be getting close to first team ready if others go? No point in splashing out money if we already have quality ready to step into the breach? Our fan base always craves new signings but Lowry, King, McCann, Devine and others could be like new signings this season. Still think we need a couple brought in especially if some of the others you mentioned leave.

Heart and Hand

I think King is knocking at the door and Lowry is positively banging it down but we still need experienced quality going in there too.

Hello John. So is the Rangers megastore only able to sell Castore products. I agree with the guy who raised the question. There is bugger all to buy if you’re not looking for a top or a training top. What about the smaller products like a rangers ball or shinguards with the crest or just some random rangers products that punters can add to their basket when buying the kit. When I was there a in late summer after we clinched 55 there was nothing with that achievement on it. No mugs t shirts key rings etc. Are they missing a trick or is all just a fear of being left with the stock as you said

KennyY

Bang on Brian, just look at that game against Hearts before the Europa final. Loads of talent in the B team and they’re gaining valuable experience from the lowland league. The boy Lovelace from Millwall looks a real prospect too

Callum Dinnen

We have loads of centre halfs at the club. If we sign another centre half who's as reliable as Goldson is fitness wise, how exactly is King meant to get games for us?

American Football!!!!

Mr J K Murray

curious why we do not have a Union flag motif on the inside of der shirt or on the back collar or something, its not going to upset der tech of the shirt considering the large advertisments, motifs, already is large weight positions. Could not score without El bufflo & should have a lethal assitence player in,things seem static, hic is Katic still of the grade ect

Brian Auld

I think a lot of this is habitual as we as a club not had a great track record of bringing through talent into the first team so our fans want new players to be bought and get nervous if it doesn’t happen. If we bring through talent we’ve grown that’s surely the best we can hope for. I’d love a Man U style class of 92 of our own!

Brian Auld

I think a couple of signings would be good but as Man Utd show spectacularly well sometimes bringing more new players in doesn’t work no matter how much money you have. Every transfer is a gamble.

I was over at the Ibrox store a week or so back, just before the release of the new home strip, and looking to buy anything but left empty handed as the range was so limited. Lost revenue to the shop, castore and Rangers. We don’t ask for much , just the chance to empty our wallets into the tills.

CRAIG CASSELLS

It was great to see so many of our youngster feature and score v Hearts but it cannot be overlooked that it was an end of season fixture with little of the blood and thunder expected of a Rangers game at Tynecastle, the Hearts players clearly had an eye on the following weeks cup final. In saying that I expect big things from Lowry and King this season although don't want them overplayed.

Brian Auld

You have a point Craig. It was a dead rubber game but you could see some of those who came on were not of a totally different quality to others on the park and they really looked the part. Our youth system is thriving so hopefully the Ajax approach of sell a big player then bring in a really good youngster isn’t too far away for us.

Good update. Just on the merch stuff, as an ex-retailer myself, i totally get why Castore have a constant stream of new gear. It sort of makes sense in traditional retail environments. HOWEVER, in a football environment, releasing a new product every 3-4 weeks leads to the consumers (ie. Fans) feeling like they have an obligation to buy which ultimately leads to resentment. This is how i would do it, and keen to hear feedback: - 1st, 2nd and 3rd strip launched as normal, and available for 12 months, until new kit is launched - 2 or 3 ranges of training kit launched periodically throughout the year - range of Rangers Basics launched. A bunch of merch with the badge and castore branding that don’t change for 2-3 years. (A basic white tee with the rangers badge will sell by the fucking boatload!!!) - consistent merch, for example pencil cases, clocks, keyrings etc. and obviously ducks. Stuff that’ll sell all the time as add-ons. AND we don’t need to update the design so they stay the same for years. -Limited edition stuff. Premium price with some sort of theme (eg 150year stuff) This feels to me like a sensible structure for a retail strategy that maximises revenue without making people feel like they’re being taken advantage of, which is what i get from the current deal. Happy to be shot down in flames if anyone has a better set-up……

Hopefully this is our Man Utd class of 92 era. I’m relaxed on quiet start to windows better than the Warburton “get the business done early” line where 2 weeks into June and we have a team of squad players. As far as I’m concerned this is Gios first proper window expect a couple of Gio gems before the season starts.

Colin Mathie

Really shocked about these departures in the womens team.

Who is in charge of the store website? Rangers or Castore?

Graham Jones

The kids will come through if they’re good enough. The management have made sure there’s a pathway to the first team, but only tow at the moment are ready to progress. Maybe more will show up this year. The average in Europe is one youth player a season. What we need to do is have a solid pre-season in the transfer market. That is buying and selling, with the aim to make sure we are good enough and have a team ready for the qualifying round and the play-off. It’s not just about the money with the Champions League, which is important, but about Rangers being a Champions League club again. The next logical step for the club is to move up a level in Europe and test ourselves there. This year it really important because we screwed up in the league and handed that lot a bag of money without them lifting a finger to earn it. We need to stop doing that as well. The problem with the kit is they just rehash old design cues. That was fine at first, but the reality is that the reason the cycling shirt design worked back in 87/88 when it cam in, was that it was different. We need to find something new like that going forward. Otherwise the strips will just look the same every year. It’ll still be blue, but the cut and performance needs to be forward thinking.

Great show as usual, John

Fat Mike's shop has almost 300 Rangers items for sale including the tops etc its got shin guards, football's, stickers, stationery sets, dog and cat bowls. These should be available in the Rangers shop but forever reason there not.

Iain Auld

Is anybody else having a problem with the audio sped up, it’s like fast forward?

Iain Auld

I’ll no even pretend I know how to fix that, I’ll get my boy to do it. Cheers m8

Was back home from Perth Australia a couple of weeks ago and visited the shop expecting to spend a fortune, however was very disappointed with what was on offer and left without spending that much. Also went for a meal in the ibrox suite, was really looking forward to it as I had great memories of previously dinning at ibrox, and must say again was really disappointed. Being positive it's heartening to know that there are still massive opportunities for Rangers to expand and become an elite club off the field as well as on it.

In terms of quality, I’ve returned a fair few adidas and Nike items the last few years. That people over react like Castore are the only company that has a fault on an item doesn’t help the pile ons

Louch

We are only just reclaiming the trademark on all the accessories type Items. A T-shirt that doesn’t need changed for 3 years doesn’t make rangers any money. Every clothes shop going changes its stock regularly, if they had two ranges out in august people would complain they have nothing new to but at xmas and in spring.
